[Classic NQ] The Obama Campaign, Role Models, Patterned Violence

Another classic NQ story focused on the rampant misogyny directed at VP candidate Sarah Palin. Truthteller wrote this piece back in October. Do make sure to see all the images. Classic!
Original Post

———————

Venal journalists and mindless bloggers who simply regurgitate what the Obama campaign places in their email accounts hope to convince voters that the rhetoric of John McCain and Sarah Palin is engendering hatred and violence.

Four events this weekend militate against this narrative, however. Indeed, two isolated events reveal that it is in fact the Obama campaign and not John McCain that is inciting violence, arson, vandalism and larceny.

I. Violent Obamabots throw fire bombs in Portland, Oregon

081011_kevin_robinson.jpg

PORTLAND, Ore. – Authorities have arrested two men after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a 4-foot by 8-foot campaign sign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a southeast Portland yard….

Witnesses said the suspects threw a Molotov cocktail at the sign and used another as a torch.

The Scruttons worried that their home could have caught on fire.

Taking their cues from the Obama campaign, Obamabots Leslie Brockette Leudtke and Kevin Carl Robinson are following in the footsteps of Bill Ayers, the terrorist who said the following on 911:

“I don’t regret setting bombs,” and added, “I feel we didn’t do enough.”

Or perhaps these fabricators of booze bombs are simply following Obama’s exhortation to his supporters to “get in the face” of those who will vote for John McCain. And what better way to do that than to emulate the terrorist who helped launch Obama’s political career in his living room in inner city Chicago?

II. Obamabots vandalize Republican headquarters in Rock Hill, South Carolina

Obama surrogate John Lewis stated the following this weekend:

“What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history,” Lewis said in a statement issued today for Politico’s Arena forum. “Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.”

Lewis didn’t accuse McCain of imitating Wallace, but suggested there were similarities.

“George Wallace never threw a bomb,” Lewis noted. “He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.”

How did Obamabots in South Carolina respond to Lewis’s comparison of John McCain and Sarah Palin to segregationist George Wallace? I quote the Rock Hill Herald:

vandals_banner.jpg

Vandals spray-painted the words “Republican means slavery” on the door of the York County GOP campaign headquarters overnight Friday.

Party volunteers called police after discovering the message when they arrived at the office on Rock Hill’s Oakland Avenue. The vandals also stole about 45 candidate signs from the front yard and spray-painted over a banner that carried a picture of Republican presidential nominee John McCain. Their messages included lettering and symbols sometimes used by gangs.

While Obamabots in South Carolina did not throw a bomb, they did vandalize and steal private property from those whose politics they liken to “slavery.” And this occurred just days after John Lewis compared McCain and Palin to a notorious segregationist. I guess words really do have discursive effects.

III. Obama supporter Madonna exhorts the crowd to kick Sarah Palin’s ass; a male blogger follows her command

And a misogynistic Obamabot online who clearly harbors fantasies of extreme violence against women publishes this cartoon at his blog:

palin.JPG

IV. These fantasies of violence are also promoted by the Obama campaign. Just view these photographs from the Obamabot protest of Sarah Palin outside of the Park Hyatt Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, yesterday:

2932674753_d00e17926e.jpg

2932673477_2451c7bea4.jpg

2933527462_30179e6d98.jpg

2933529368_e6909c2b58.jpg

2932673951_2626de0404.jpg

According to Michelle Obama, this race is about “role modeling.”

And she is right, for Obama’s campaign continues to incite violence and crime across the country. Larceny, vandalism, Molotov cocktails, violence against women: I guess this is change in which everyone, especially criminals, can believe.

I was a victim of the Obamabots as well. Two days after super Tuesday my window in which I proudly displayed my Hillary poster was smashed in. It looks like they actually punched the sign and broke the window. Pathetic hooligans.

Comment by Winston | 2009-01-12 01:39:08

They are attracted to shiny things and when they see their reflections in glass they get confused and disoriented and attack as if the image is threatening. Many animals behave in this fashion, particularly birds.

Wait until Obama trashes Seniors in an effort to cut Social Security and Medicare. Sadly it will be the Seniors getting hurt–for what because they cashed in their SS Insurance Policy?

These thugs must have been led by Jon Favreau, the Perv-Elect’s boyfriend promoted to “Director of Speechwriters”

Disgusting Obamabot punks should have castrated without benefit of anaesthesia…

HARP,
We don’t need the draft.
Obama’s great government work program is having the unemployable enlist in the military.
Joining the military is the only job these types can get.

What exactly is the point of this article? That there are morons living among us? Thanks for the news flash.

Your attempting to attribute what a few lunatics and scumbags did to Obama or his campaign is truly despicable. That’s like blaming Sarah Palin for those people yelling “kill him!” and “he’s a muslim!” at her rallies. She was not responsible and neither was Obama for what a few of his disturbed fans did.

Anyway wasn’t the election two months ago?

Ridiculous!

Comment by Concerned Citizen | 2009-01-12 01:14:43

By your logic, Sarah Palin and John McCain are responsible for this:

ELECTION DAY ASSAULTS LEAD TO HATE CRIME CHARGES

Comment by Ellen | 2009-01-12 02:36:04

No, this is by YOUR logic….the Obama hatred is so entrenched in you Hillary supporters that you simply cannot get rid of it – to apply this garbage to Obama supporters is just plain silly. And you know that it is not the realty. Obama won the election, fair and square and he got more delegates than Hillary – and that is how one gets the party nomination. why do you continue to reject what happened on Nov 4th?

Comment by donna darko | 2009-01-12 02:39:43

What do you see in the title? The words: Obama, role models and patterned violence. The violence continues in the form of comments, bloggers and real life Obots who try to bully you into toeing the line.

If you look at the What Is An Obot Thread, there are no Obot commenters because Obots are classic bullies. They attack but cannot be attacked.

This is Obama who role models this behavior.

Comment by donna darko | 2009-01-12 02:41:35

Obots never learn but they are starting to see PUMAs were right about everything: that Obama is misogynist, homophobic, corrupt and inexperienced.

Comment by donna darko | 2009-01-12 02:58:19

PUMAs such as myself predicted eight months ago Obama is a conservative, that he represents the status quo, that he is a corporatist owned by financial firms and that he will dismantle social security:

April 20, 2008: Obama Is A Conservative

April 25, 2008: Old Boys Club

May 5, 2008: Obama Represents the Status Quo

October 7, 2008: Barack Obama is a misogynist, homophobic, corrupt Chicago politician who lacks core values and judgment

Comment by Northwest rain | 2009-01-12 05:22:22

Actually McCain didn’t tell people to get in other people’s faces. He also didn’t have his surrogates go out claiming that Obama was acting in a way in which he was not. (Lewis’ statements).

Concerned Citizen for Perv-Elect:

Rolemodeling by Obama:

1. “Obama Gives Hillary the Finger” — JZ rapper act by Barack dusting and scraping HIllary off his shoes on stage (N.C. day after he got creamed at the ABC debate in which His Stutteringness shone via sheer ineptitude, inaneness and Empty Suitedness…got vindictive and “dished it out to HIll)

2. “Periodically, Hillary feels down, and starts launching attacks to boost her appeal” –
Women in the boardrooms, beware when you have your PERIOD and MENSTRUATE (feel down) you don’t attack Barrack. His testosterone levels may go up unpredictably high and get back to his nasty, vindictive little punk-self!

Barack is a sexist jerk of the highest order. He’s benefiteed immenseley from the media misogynist frat-boy’s pushing this unqualified Empty Suit on everyone from Day 1. thanks to Uncle George Soros and the Ford Foundation and the offshore Rezko money…Let’s hope he gets out of the closet and doubles up with Jon Favreau. Amen. Barry must be suffocating….

So you are saying that the statute of limitations for criminal activity should be changed to 2 Months and anything beyond that is such a vast reach back into antiquity that it should be expunged from recorded history?

Comment by Concerned Citizen | 2009-01-12 01:58:30

Seems like the crimes are being prosecuted by the local authorities, which is good IMO.

But how does any of this tie to Obama or his campaign? Answer: It doesn’t. Is there anything newsworthy or topical about an article written in October? Nope.

But it’s another attempt to remind up the tens of PUMAs they are suppose to hate Obama, even though he has turned out to be the opposite of everything pushed by anti-Obama websites. Nice try though.

The man has an 82% approval rating…even LJ’s been on here giving him props. Sounds like some PUMA have seen the light, no?

Comment by Winston | 2009-01-12 02:27:23

even though he has turned out to be the opposite of everything pushed by anti-Obama websites.

He hasn’t turned out to be anything since he is not even president yet. So he can’t possibly have an 82% approval rating as President?

His campaign was a disgrace even with all the spin and damage control the media put out and ried to sweep under the rug. Illegal web-site contributions for foreigners, ACORN, telling Obots to “get in the face and argue”, attacking Joe the Plumber, LA Times suppressing video, NYT not publishing McCain’s columns after publishing Obama’s, lying about FISA? Man you are blind. You have a strange sense of what free democracy is.

The man is not president yet. He has no approval rating for running the country since he is not running the country. We don’t hate him. We think he is a Chicago Thug who plays the race card 24/7 and doesn’t have enough experience to be president.

Nobody is going to give a rats ass about the historiocity of Obama’s presidency when unemployment skyrockets and our standard of living declines and the best Obama can do is keep the Dubya Status Quo.

Yes that dull reptilian gaze, much like the marine iguana of the Galapagos, is the first give away that these two are indeed Obots. While their expressionless countenance is diagnostic of there inability to express the full range of human emotions, this variant of Obot can be easily trained to perform any number of rote actions for Obama’s propaganda machine. Things like ripping up yard signs and keying cars with Palin stickers on them.

Now from the evidence on display, they clearly do not intend, nor are they capable of pulling off that wise ass smirk of a mug shot that Bill Ayers (the prototype master zygote Obot) is so famous for.

Perhaps 20 years from now they will be college professors writing books on change and education, like Bill Ayers.

With Obama we get a divided country. Old vs. Young — Black vs. White – Male vs. Female and Gay vs. Straight. He is even having an Inaugural Ball where no one over 35 is allowed to attend. To keep the peace a president must be president of all Americans not just the youth.

Before this prez election, Barry Soetoro-Dunham or Barack Hussein Obama(?) never once won an election!! He stole it from his AA mentor Sen Alice Palmer in’96 in Chicago.

Comment by Magic Puzzle Box | 2009-01-12 09:43:23

I had a weird experience with an Obama supporter the day of the big ruckus over Sarah Palin not defining the duties of VP “correctly”. I was riding a different bus than usual and was the last person on with the bus driver, and suddenly he started trashing Sarah Palin. He hadn’t been talking to anyone until we were alone. I knew the drill after the 2004 elections that you keep your mouth shut and head down, so I played dumb and didn’t reveal I heard about the comment, then got off the bus as fast as possible.

And by the way, if the election was months ago, what was that horrible clip by Keith Olbermann on the new Ziegler Palin interview? Nasty stuff, made my blood run cold watching his obvious fury over the whole thing. What’s the big deal talking about Ayers if there’s nothing much about the relationship other than a professional one? Where there’s smoke, there’s fire….

Comment by FembotsForObama | 2009-01-12 14:31:18

Now that the election is over, I’ve decided not to be polite anymore when people are ripping on Palin or Hillary.

Comment by SJ | 2009-01-12 10:05:19

Four years of this nonsense is going to be hard to swallow. Here we have the we only can have one President at a time man, yet he is meeting with world leaders, his VP is off in a road trip meeting more world leaders while there is a crisis in Israel babies dying and the great one will speak after the 20th.

The economy is in a mess and the media is obsessed with the fact that Obama’s kids are getting a dog and what kind it is. No one is asking Obama about anything, no one cares about the we all will have to pay statement, no one cares about why he cant even give us his feelings on the Gaza problem, nothing.

I feel as if someone should wake me up when all this is over because I have no idea where this country is heading other than one load of crap now about this big 2million guest party that is coming soon, we have really given our selves a image that we sure are immune now to whatever is going on in the world.

Comment by ACPD | 2009-01-12 11:21:36

The reason I hold Obama (personally) and the media (en masse) accountable for this violence is that they did not speak out against the hateful language. Hate language is the beginning of a process and continuum that leads to violent actions against the group being targeted.

This is Feminism 101 and why I, also, count the feminists of Ms. magazine elk accountable. They and many young women have just given misogynists permission to be violent and hateful against women. Palin and HRC represent all women. What is allowed to be said about them (and not their records or accomplishments) will be said about all of us women….

Women and young girls are the big losers of this election….

Just thought I’d add this fact.

This brings to mind an incident that happened to us. We had a big McCain Palin sign in our front yard for 3 weeks before the Nov 4th. Down the street a supporter of BO had a sign about ‘Change’ as big as ours. It was around 5P.M. when my son called to tell me that the local NBC affiliate was outisde interviewing my husband about vandalism that occurred with the BO sign up the street. He was asking him if we had any trouble but it didn’t trun out that way. They were implying that because we were McCain supporters we might have done something to the sign. Well, I went up and looked at the sign, the 2 men that owned the home said they were not going to change to a new sign because they wanted people to see the hatred of whoever did it. Well, the sign had white paint that covered(perfectly) the ‘C’ and then made the H a capital and then put an apostrophe after the ‘g’ and then the ‘e’ was made into an ’s’. Anyway, the word came out ‘hang’em’ and we notd that the grammar was perfect( you usually don’t get that with graffiti). Well, I called the news guy and told him not to run the interview because that is inciting more tension in our neighborhood. So he did run the interview but edited my husband’s comments way down. It was found o ut later that some young people who were stationed at the local college(I believe from getoutthe vote organization had actually defaced the sign to create the impression that McCain supporters had done it). The 2 men that lived in the house fessed up.
