So, Clinton's just pandering to the Israeli Lobby again, if he's pushing that meme. The truth is this: Politicians are restrained from frank talk about the Israeli government in this country, because the Israeli Lobby here has proven to be a formidable force over the past 3 decades. That creates a <strong>huge distortion of our foreign policy with regard to the Middle East.</strong> Numerous politicians--Paul Findley for one, but there are so many others--have lost their seats when they spoke frankly about the Israeli government's policies. Findley's book, "They Dared to Speak Out," was written decades ago; nothing has changed since then. No dissent is allowed; no criticism of Israel is tolerated.
