Very good poem.Two thumbs UP!!

As this is an open thread…

Just recently, I saw a comment referring to the latest CBS “60 Minutes” report. It had no link. The report is about the potential for a two-state solution for the Israelis and the Palestinians, and it seems to me a very good report.

Patrick Henry, thanks for sharing this moving piece. I don’t “get” much modern poetry, didn’t have a clue as to the inaugural poem. . .but I do understand the grief you felt when writing this.

I will be forever reminded of the photos of one plane against that blue sky, right before impact. It could be called “beautiful”, but oh what ugliness was revealed!

We must never forget that day. Yes, contempt for a group as a whole will just keep us down, but we cannot forgive the groups and governments who orchestrated 9/11. Quite frankly, I’m tired of being PC. Sometimes too much liberty is not a good thing. It seems to be backfiring on us, right on our own soil. We are being trampled and mocked while our laws are ignored and our values are seen as a dying entity that doesn’t fit everyone’s culture or religion, and must be quashed. Look what’s happening to Europe … Obama seems to embrace that kind of change.

WILMINGTON, Calif. — A man apparently upset about his job situation killed his wife and five children before committing suicide at their home, according to Los Angeles police.

Police investigate after the discovery of seven bodies in a Wilmington home.
Responding to a report of a shooting, officers discovered the bodies of a man, woman, 8-year-old girl, two 5-year-old twin girls and two 2-year-old twin boys, according to LAPD Deputy Chief Kenneth Garner.

“He was despondent, clearly, over his job situation,” Garner said of the father.

This is horrific news.

We need to look out for our family, friends, neighbors and help where we can.

People need to stick together so we can help each other get through this.

The feeling of hopelessness and helplessness caused by the present economic conditions can have deadly repurcussions- even for those young ‘innocents’ who may have no clue as to what is going on…
