OK, Mr. President, enough with the doomsday talk already. We get it. Things suck. And they’re going to get worse before they get better.
And we get how it important it was for you to level-set expectations out of the gate, as they were stratospherically out of whack.
We are all in economic rehab now, clear eyed and sober…It’s time for less mope and more hope. You were elected because you are a walking, talking hope machine. Plug that sucker back in and crank it up to ten.

Personally, I’m just a little frustrated that the American people are not being enlisted as builders of our own future. It’s as if we were the fourth leg on that three legged stool everyone kept trying to construct. Only we got thrown out with the packaging materials and the instructions!

I think Mr. Soertoro/Obama and his wife both expressed their feelings for our country very well during the campaign when he stood on that stage, arrogantly clasping his hands in front of him while others saluted the flag. I doubt we needed his wife’s rant about her feelings for this country to get the point.
What I don’t know is how our public servants elected by the People could continue to push this man forward to the point of stealing delegates for him knowing his contempt for what our nation stands for.
We the People and our Constitution are permanent; our leaders transient so that “absolute power would not corrupt absolutely.” Would we have elected anyone who had said this after Pearl Harbor?

The image of him standing there, stiffly, and looking uncomfortable while others held their hands over their hearts has never left my mind.
It’s one thing to disagree with some of our policies, or to want to make our country better. But I don’t think he loves this country, or its people. I think he wants to take America down from the inside out.

That is a fact. Many have come to that place honestly though. “O” needs to act Presidential. McCain acted Presidential when he said the “fundamentals of the economy were strong” was it true? if you mean our free market system is good, we just need some adjustments… then yes it was true. Obama and Biden made their stump speeches about ridiculing McCain for his optimism. I think we should have all seen it then, but it was missed… the man is no optimist. Hope and change isn’t something he has to give. We will get through this.

And you are aware that the Obamas, while asking the rest of us to sacrifice are doing no such thing themselves. They are reveling in the perks of the office, spending over $250,000 of taxpayers money on the Friday night date weekend in Chicago. That was a purely personal trip and they didn’t need to take it. They wanted to. At our expense. And rather than wear a jacket at the office, Obummer is cranking up the heat in the White House so he will be warm enough. We pay those utility bills. We are supposed to turn down our thermostats to save energy, but the one who is asking us to do that is turning his up. He should at least try to set an example.
He is unprepared, unschooled in the process of legislation, has no work ethic and should resign for the good of the country. He won’t because for him it’s never been about the good of the country, it’s always been about him and what he could get out of whatever office he is holding. Someone should tell him that if he resigns in good form, then he will still get the perks, pension, etc. If he is impeached and convicted, then he doesn’t get any of them. And he won’t be able to hold office again. That would be best for the country, in my opinion.
Blaming everything on Obama is an easy way to avoid finding out the real reasons for anything.

Many people had Bush and Cheney sized up long before they even took office. Both were Right Wing Authoritarian personality types. That’s a clearly defined mental disorder in my book. Morality? Together they launched a needless war that resulted the deaths of 4,247 American soldiers and 99,073 confirmed civilian deaths. They turned America into a country that sexually humiliates and tortures captives–in several cases to the point of death. Bush was totally incompetent in many areas. Cheney was frightening competent, which under the circumstances might actually have been worse. Both very likely committed crimes while in office, although owing to Cheney’s competence at covering tracks prosecution is unlikely.
It’s self preservation, cynic. I started muting Bush and Cheney in 2003 and just read parts of their speeches or read the crawls. I try not to rubberneck when we pass car wrecks either.

But the first one seems to be quite prophetic indeed, describing his seeming personality this first month. Maybe it will be like that at the end of four years. WASHINGTON (CNN) — The Obama administration told a federal court late Friday it will maintain the Bush administration’s position that battlefield detainees held without charges by the United States in Afghanistan are not entitled to constitutional rights to challenge their detention.

“Having considered the matter, the government adheres to its previously articulated position,” said a Justice Department document filed in federal court in Washington.
In a controversial 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court last year ruled that detainees held at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay had a right under the constitution to challenge their continued detention. However, the court did not say whether it applied to prisoners in other locations abroad, including Afghanistan.
Five prisoners held at Bagram Air Base, backed by human rights groups, have gone to court to claim the same rights as the men detained in Guantanamo Bay.
The new administration, which was given a month by a federal judge to declare whether the government wants to change its position, has now indicated it will continue to argue that it is against its security interests to release enemy combatants in a war zone.
Barbara Olshansky, lead counsel for three of the detainee petitioners, said that the administration’s decision was “deeply disappointing.”
“We are trying to remain hopeful that the message being conveyed is that the new administration is still working on its position regarding the applicability of the laws of war — the Geneva Conventions — and international human rights treaties that apply to everyone in detention there,” she said.”

The DNC is in debt, thanks to Obummer who didn’t share any of his campaign funds with them. He had millions left over after the election. Didn’t help Hillary pay her debt, other than the one check he wrote. Said he would ask his supporters to help. Didn’t do that either. So, if the DNC is billed for the Election night party that Obummer they won’t be able to pay it. He won’t pay it out of his funds unless the city sues him. I hope they do.

My goodness. I was doing dishes after lunch and I heard the first add about a mortgage rescue company offering their services under the Obama plan. They were not shy enough to offer free money in top of also paying all their bills. I said to myself, ‘this is going to be hilarious, thousands of ads every week by companies each beating the other offering free money and great perks for refinancing their mortgages under the Obama plan.’ We are going to be so happy every time we hear the ads. Oh my God. So happy, happy happy.
Don’t tell anyone, but I think those ads will sink the banking industry all by themselves. But be quiet. That’s a secret between you and me.

I just watched the MSNBC video in which Keith Olberman and Jonathan Alter (Newsweek, credited as a MSNBC news analyst) discussed Keyes’ comments that BO is not a NBC. They specifically cited his comments that BO,‘The military is questioning whether they have to follow orders of a CIC they believe is not a NBC,’in conjunction with his comments,‘He needs to be stopped.’ Both men said this is dangerous and that the SS should look into this! They were intimating that, Keyes was inciting violence against BO!

Wow. I almost had to stop watching that half way through, but made it to the end! It is unbelievable how they want to down play Obama’s eligibility! Why don’t they just ask Obama to prove it since they think it is such a joke? I pray to God that this phoney is exposed somehow before things go much farther!

I think they are a little nervous. I gave up MSNBC awhile back, but I managed to watch this entire thing, despite Olberman’s continual insult-insertions (”wack-job,” etc.) Jonathan Alter may have actually done a disservice to Obama by highlighting Keyes’ assertions. Whatever people think of Alan Keyes, I don’t think they see him as a deliberate liar. This story may generate some questions in viewers’ minds. And I got to hand it to Alan Keyes. He does not back down. I had not heard that there were military personnel questioning whether they had to obey orders from Obama. That was interesting.
There are lawsuits now from retired military who are on life recall to follow orders they may now come to think as committing treason if indeed Obama in not legit.
The military’s first duty is to uphold the constitution. Period. The one can give an unlawful order, they are not expected to follow unlawful orders, of anyone.
Obama is way over his head. Anyone who has to repeat ” let me make myself clear” knows he is not in control.
Brings to mind the day he had to hold three press conferences to CLEAR UP the ones he had given earlier that day.

Second, you should arrange to have your personal bodyguard, Michael Signator, provide a deposition to the Chicago police regarding his wherabouts on or around Christmas Eve, 2007. That was the day Donald Young, the gay choir master at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago–your church–was shot to death in cold blood. Over a year later the case remains unsolved. Why? Why won’t the Chicago police explain what is going on? Perhaps there should also be an investigation of the Chicago police by the AG of Illinois, or perhaps even the United States attorney general. But now that you have them in your back pocket, well, yeah, I guess you have the game rigged nicely, don’t you?
Third, release some of your key unreleased records. Why are you sitting on them? Here’s a few you should think about releasing:
- Long form version of Hawaii certification of live birth (COLB), not the short form you posted to Daily Kos
- Your Occidental College records
- Your Columbia University records
- Your Harvard Law School records
- The obstetrics records of your mother presumably giving birth to you in Hawaii in 1961 (it is still a contested issue as to which hospital in Hawaii performed the procedure to have you delivered, who the doctor was, etc.). When basic facts like this are in dispute, reasonable people wonder just what you are hiding.

Truthfully, BO showed his mettle all along, and essentially told us what he would do once elected.
There were many instances that left no doubt about his socialist leanings.

Here’s the thing, I don’t believe in corporate welfare and I don’t like any of this bailout crap. That being said:
IF they are going to pump trillions of dollars into the economy (ok, so it’s legally counterfeited money but lets not go there) why in the name of hay don’t they send every adult legal resident/taxpayer the money instead of giving it to the banks and the auto makers? Hello? Why don’t they trust the people to fix this crap? After all, they work for US… not the other way around. See, let’s say they send everyone, oh, maybe $25K. Well, personally, I’d go buy me a car – a good ol’ Dodge, or maybe a Ford ‘cuz I like ‘em. Joe might take his money and use it to pay down his debts, Charlie might make a downpayment on a house – and Jane takes her money to the bank and puts it in a CD. Betty buys up stock and Bill and Sue go on a kick butt shopping spree.
Now THAT’S what I’d call an economic stimulus!

Okay, somebody do the math for me. I admit, the brain has hit overload and the smoke coming from my ears cannot be a good sign. So, help me with this while I go soak my head, Paul Newman style, in a bucket of ice water:
With the brand spanking new dimwit bill, the CBO is projecting the federal budget deficit to RISE to ~$2.0 trillion (yes, trillion). Okay, got that. Take $1.2 and add another $0.8 for the dimwit bill and that’s about $2.0. So far so good. But that’s bad, right? Borrowing and spending at that level is fiscal insanity, right?
Right. Okay, I’m still with you. Here’s the hard part.
The President (yes, like it or not, that’s the title) has now pledged to CUT the DEFICIT in HALF (sound’s good, right)!! Hooray. That puts us at $0.6. If the deficit is $1.2 now, and if my gozzintas are right, half of that is $0.6.
But our Witless Leader is promising to cut the deficit in HALF. To ONLY somewhere around $1.0 trillion.
And he pontificates, this deficit spending has to STOP!!!
I’m sorry, did I miss Alice walking by? Am I in Wonderland? Are those bunnies or billions floating by? Can somebody take me to the wizard (I know, different movie, but I’m confused, like I said).
Maybe this is it. I’ll spare you the details of the joke about the scientist, the lawyer and the accountant but the question was, “What’s 1 + 1?” The accountant’s answer (who is now, I think, the royal accountant to the court of St. Obama): “What do you want it to be?”
