I Refuse to Participate in Obama’s Recession

I wish I knew who first said “I refuse to participate in a recession”.  I hear it from the guy I work for almost every week.  And you know what?  With all his typical, pain in the ass business owner faults, this is one strength I admire to no end and the one idea that really works.

I Refuse to Participate in a Recession!

While you cannot control the economy or your competition, you can control your response to the economy. Referrals can keep your business alive and well during an economic downturn.  During the last recession, I watched thousands of businesspeople grow and prosper. They were successful because they consciously made the decision to refuse to participate in a recession. They did so by developing their networking skills and learning how to build their business through word of mouth.

Don’t let a bad economy be your excuse for failure. Instead, make it your opportunity to succeed. While others are looking at the problems, those of us looking for opportunities will not only get through a bad economy but will prosper.

Click that link above or better yet, try this Google Search

In business, in life, Words do Matter.  This time of true economic recession will become a depression because it becomes depressing.  We can avoid the depressing crap by refusing to participate.

In my particular business, our customers are laying off people as they lose engineering or design contracts but we’ve remained positive and treated it as the opportunity it is.  Our business is sort of booming as the customers have begun to realize we offer an alternative to participating in the recession.

Yeah, my biz is lucky and not all are like it but damn it, we have to stop participating in Obama’s Recession.  He owns this sucker now because he bought into it rather than rejecting it.  It is Obama’s Recession and I refuse to participate.

Let him be Mr. Doom and Gloom, I refuse to Participate in Obama’s Recession.

He’s talking it down, lowering expectation but I refuse to Participate in Obama’s Recession.

Repeat after me..

I refuse to Participate in Obama’s Recession.

I refuse to Participate in Obama’s Recession.

First, make an honest effort to use the English language. I don’t speak gibberish.

Second, with That One in charge, we’re certain to get it more of the same “s&&t”.

Are you satisfied? Good, now run along.

I refuse to participate in Obama’s Recession. No problem there. I refuse to participate in anything to do with Obama whatsoever, and I think it will be a testament to this country’s superior will when we DO survive Obama and his negativity, hate and destruction. Great post. Hang in there America. We’ve survived worse.

That is why I never use either his first or last names. That One is the phrase by which I call him. I refuse to participate in any of his crap. I don’t listen to him; I don’t read his hogwash; and I don’t watch the MSM any longer. The same goes for his wife. They are non-entities to me.

It is clear that Obama has no clue what would make a healthy economy. Give the recession back to him along with all his unstimulating stimulus plans. Send him back to Kenya now.

This feels like it’s similar to Pearl Harbor. The (s)election of Obama and the perceived threat of Obama backed socialism will awaken the sleeping giant.

This is just the yawning and stretching part of waking up.

“Don’t tread on me.” will have new meaning.

Actually, the fact that states are declaring their sovereignty is no trivial matter.

Washington state, one that is loaded with latte liberals that helped (s)elect Obama, is just the latest one to do this by introducing a bill on Feb 13?, 2009.

I’m American. I will not participate in Obama’s recession.

Comment by AlexisM | 2009-02-22 18:01:05

I’m surprised that the batcrap crazy state of California is also on the list of those asserting state rights against Obama’s socialist nonsense.

Comment by Tiberius | 2009-02-22 18:07:15

They’re raising taxes and cutting spending in an effort to balance their budget. That strikes me as showing backbone and taking a big step toward fiscal responsibility.

Anyone who suggests raising taxes is inappropriate might be guilty of believing you can get something for nothing–which is what conservatives commonly accuse the democrats of.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2009-02-22 23:03:46

Cutting spending??? Hello. What galaxy are you living on? They’re raising taxes because someone [us] has to pay for all the spending, which “yes” the Republicans have to take responsibility for but for which the Dems are right up there in never-never land.

Why don’t we call a truce. Republicans and Democrats alike are spending whores. With our money, our futures.

There are no innocents in this mess!

Comment by tek | 2009-02-23 09:43:57

Peggy Sue: Glad to see one person thinking realistically. I can’t believe anyone would say that Bush has no responsibility in all this. The guy was in power for 8 years, the Reps had a majority for 12 years, until two years ago. If the Republicans didn’t like federal policies, they could have changed them, but they didn’t. Bush squandered Clinton’s trillion dollar surplus, gave it away to his millionaire friends. He borrowed 2 billion per day from COMMUNIST China (for all you Republicans out there who don’t like “socialism”) But all some Americans can talk about is placing blame on the other party. Bill Clinton has said publicly last week that if he had been in power the last 8 years none of this would be happening. That is true. If Americans are going to keep being so stupid to put men like Bush in office who give everything to the corporate wealthy at the expense of all other people in the country then there is no hope. Obama is no better and stupid people voted him into office, too.

Is there a site to learn more about the assertions of states’ rights? I’m curious about what it means and what the ramifications are, per state.

I think this would make a good post.

Comment by AlexisM | 2009-02-22 23:11:49

Yeah, Scout, I agree. I just read that Tennessee joined in asserting their state rights. Poor stupid Obama and Pelosi. They thought they were just going to come in, swoop down on America, and turn this into a dictatorship. Oh well, too bad for them. Maybe they both should take a Constitutional Law class.

Comment by athena | 2009-02-22 23:53:02

I would be interested in knowing if there is a site that shows the states purising their legal rights and those talking succession.

Comment by C.S. | 2009-02-23 10:05:49

Here is one site

http://starmaker.today.com/2009/02/05/states-rights-10th-amendment-secessionist-movement/

This one has a nifty little chart showing those states who have completed the process and those working on it

http://www.infowars.com/resources/states-rights.html

And this one allows you to click up individual states

http://www.taxtruth4u.com/eight%20states.html

I brought up and posted the 10th amendment back when the Democratic party usurped the state powers of Florida and Michigan and disenfranchised millions of voters back during the primaries but I didn’t know that “rebellion” was being planned by the states! This was all kept very quite but I wouldn’t have been quite as worried that we were losing our democratic republic if I had known that the states were moving to reestablish their Constitutional states rights. Should help to make election theft much harder in 2012.

We should keep an eye on these elected representatives; they might be just the candidates we need to replace the crop in office now.

Ah, I see you’re trying to twist this to a conversation of GOP vs Dem, Tiberiouseless. That’s not the point.

The point is you either buy into the Obama mantra of doom and gloom or you do not. You either take responsibility or you don’t. You either keep your head down and work for what you get or you expect someone else to provide it for you.

Taxing the other guy because you were irresponsible, didn’t get the education, couldn’t stand to show up for work everyday, didn’t make personal and fiscally responsible choices, or whatever the latest whine du jour, isn’t the answer.

Wrap your head around some new thought. And no, Obama is not the harbinger of the thousand years of peace being ushered in on Dec. 21, 2012.

I also believe if you don’t have much, you don’t have much to lose, LOL. Being on the bottom means there’s not far to fall. I have to laugh because around here, every winter is like living thru a depression. People around here did this during the depression and they’re still doing it.

There’s so much fear and hysteria being sold to us, it’s just important to try and keep it in perspective. We are the economy, us little people exchanging goods and services.

Comment by C.S. | 2009-02-23 10:23:25

Couldn’t agree more. And have you noticed that the 9/11 terrorist fear of the Bush administration has been replaced by the economic fear and hysteria of the Obama administration? The operative word is fear and we all know that survivors of any disaster are those who take quick decisive action to save themselves instead of waiting for someone or something to come save them. And after watching him manipulate the 2008 election, I certainly don’t trust him to throw me a lifeline.

Each of us speaking out on whether BO is Constitutionally eligible for POTUS is making a difference; who knows what straw will break the camel’s back? I am about to post on my blog a simple ’script’ that spells out how to lodge a complaint of fraud with your state AG against Nancy Pelosi, Chair of the 2008 DNC Convention, based on a good faith belief that in order to get Barack Obama’s name onto the general election ballot, she signed and submitted to the Secretary of State the official DNC Certification of Nomination swearing the Democratic Party’s nominee for POTUS is Constitutionally eligible for the job, notwithstanding overwhelming circumstantial indicates she knows, he is not; and to respectfully request an immediate investigation into these charges.

HARP…the worst part of that is what is above it. ACORN is going to be a big problem and I am sure resort to violence when homes are being foreclosed on. ACORN needs to be indicted under the frigging RICO Act for God’s sake.

Comment by Mary | 2009-02-22 19:11:59

Already happened.

Local channel in Baltimore, Maryland showed a video clip of an Acorn group chanting outside a foreclosed home saying “We’re taking this house back.”

The woman foreclosed had not paid for a year; the mortgage company had tried to work with her, to no avail, foreclosed, and in fact, had already sold the house to someone else.

Acorn said it wasn’t “breaking and entering.” They called it “homesteading.”

We’re gonna need more cops.

What recession? I just returned home from having dinner out with friends in Tallahassee. The restaurant was crowded, and noisy. Lots of people out , enjoying the festive atmosphere. talking and laughing. I didn’t see anyone crying in their beer over the economy. In fact, I didn’t see any gloomy faces at all. On the way home, driving through town, we noticed crowded parking lots at most of the area restaurants. If things are as dismal as our POTUS suggests, why are all these people enjoying a Sunday evening out and about? I refuse to buy into the
crap that Dr. Doom and Gloom is trying to sell.

Comment by Chris | 2009-02-22 23:56:02

Same here all weekend and I live in an economically challenged area of NYS. None of my friends or family has lost their jobs either. This is a psychological manipulation at it’s worst. I agree we have issues but I firmly believe we the people can work through it. We need leaders who think that way too. We don’t need someone on a power trip that wants total govt. control and tries to scare everyone with doom and gloom scenarios and demands.

I own a business in Florida and am doing much better than a year ago. Some of my clients are concerned, but not at panic level. This administration would have you believe gloom and doom is the only possible reaction to every event. Could it get worse? Sure. I believe, however, that many folks can easily be coerced into thinking that crisis is the norm, and then they give up. Thanks for the pep talk! We need to spread more positivity and encouragement like this.

Isn’t Obama’s message of doom and gloom part of the Alinsky method? Keep telling people how downtrodden they are, how bad things are, how victimized they are, and then slowly but surely they believe that you the speaker are the only one who can help them?

Comment by Buzz Latte LaRue | 2009-02-23 01:23:36

BABS: sounds like the Bush/Cheney doctrine to me. Remember the color code system? Remember Cheney getting on TV and telling us Americans will die! Every election they raised the color code to red! Bush’s whole public policy was let disaster befall the American people and then use the shock to grab more power. Obama’s just following in his footsteps. I didn’t realize that Dubya was a socialist.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2009-02-23 00:18:56

Not to burst people’s happy bubbles here, but the economy IS very bad. I have family that may be going into bankruptcy because of it (they are hardworking people who are involved in the housing industry) – I know someone who deals with banks and says they’ve fallen off a cliff and there’s no end in sight.

There will be some businesses that are more recession proof but a LOT of people are already hurting. I don’t think it’s fair to just say “work harder or it’s your fault.” This does not take into account that some industries are just getting hit much harder first. But yours may be soon to follow.

Comment by AF catfish | 2009-02-23 02:41:43

But your friends and family have each other. Bankruptcy is not starvation, it’s a restructuring of debts.

The country created bankruptcy laws so that people would take risks.

We can get through this.

Comment by tek | 2009-02-23 09:33:22

Dubya changed the bankruptcy laws–are you not paying attention? It’s not a restructuring anymore. You lose EVERYTHING but you still have to pay for it the rest of your life. Not corporations, corporations can still restructure, but average people lose everything.

Comment by Buzz Latte LaRue | 2009-02-23 01:39:15

The housing market has eroded but it didn’t happen over night. The signs have been there for quite awhile. The fact that the government backed unsecured loans should have been enough to back away from no down buyer contracts. The banking industry was sued by the likes of Obama for not giving out the sub-prime loans. Unfortunately, not all business owners read the signs in time. What goes up must come down.

You can either become a victim or get creative. I met a 31 year old that has been involved in the real estate industry. Instead of whining, this person went out and got two part time jobs to subsidize their income. No, they aren’t ideal and high paying jobs, but they put food on the table. That’s the American way or Yankee ingenuity.

Small businesses are always vulnerable. The interesting thing is that large chains, such as Starbucks, are being affected this time. This mirrors the 1980’s with double digit unemployment, double digit inflation, and double digit interest rates.

Americans, once again, have to learn to live within their means. It’s gonna be hard for the 8% who got caught up in the free for all housing/mortgage follies.

For those of us who saved our money instead of investing in the 50 inch TV, things will be tight but not undoable.

Comment by Scrapiron | 2009-02-23 01:41:22

Texas holds the right to succeed from the union. I have relatives living there. Might be a good plan to move there and push to become an independant country called Texas. They need nothing from anyone to survive and thrive with the Fed’s off their back.

Comment by tek | 2009-02-23 09:30:48

Comment by tek | 2009-02-23 09:29:25

I think Americans should remain optimistic. If you read the facts, this thing is going to bounce back. Some of the biggest drops in housing are in the most expensive areas. That’s going to come back.

Seriously, though, I’m shocked that people can’t figure out the Republicans are rejecting the stimulus plan because they know without it, the U. S. goes down the tubes. Their thinking is that if the country disintegrates under a Democrat then they can get back in power. It’s the same thing as the Dems thinking that if they just sat back and let Bush do his worst, the country would be in terrible shape and the Dems would get power. I’m already hearing people say that none of the recession is Bush’s fault! OMG! This is exactly why we have a deteriorating government and quality of life in this country. Americans care more about party than about creating a just, humane, quality society. So let’s see if Dubya will come out of retirement in Dallas and go back to the WH! Or, maybe we could get Jeb or George W. Bush III.

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2009-02-23 10:01:26

There is definitely a lot of blame to spread around. The Republicans and Democrats are merely opposite sides of the same dirty penny and just as worthless. Neither party puts country first and neither has our best interests at heart. We have traded in a distributor of wealth upwards for a distributor of wealth downwards. And the fiddling continues, literally and figuratively.

I will never belong to either of those parties again.

Comment by C.S. | 2009-02-23 10:45:34

I will never belong to either of those parties again.

Congratulations on your decision! I’ve always been an independent voter and therefore was always a political “outsider”. I don’t know how we came to believe political parties were so powerful that they can actually decided which candidates get which delegates in spite of voter’s decisions when they have no Constitutional power to do so. Elections are in the hands of the states. But when a political party puts individuals before the Constitution, like the Democrats did in 2008 and the Republicans did in 2000, it is time for them to go.
