I Knew It Was Coming
By Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy on February 28, 2009 at 1:17 PM in Afghanistan, Backtrack Obama, Bamboozling, Barack Obama, China, Current Affairs, FISA, Hillary Clinton, Human Rights, Iraq
My local paper had an Editorial recently entitled, “Hillary’s Shameful Silence.” I bet I don’t even have to tell you about what the Editors are speaking – you guessed it, human rights in China:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has just returned from her first trip abroad. She said she chose to visit Asia because of its rising importance to the United States. China, after all, buys U.S. Treasury bonds. President Obama would have a hard time paying the government’s bills without those purchases.Mrs. Clinton frequently made the pitch that the bonds were safe, and that Asia needs a healthy American economy, making her, as one commentator said, the nation’s leading “merchant of debt.” But what she did not say was important, too.
She did not complain openly about China’s human rights abuses, even though the State Department issued its annual human rights assessment just after she returned from Asia. The department’s statement said, “The government of China’s human rights record remained poor and worsened in some areas.”
Mrs. Clinton must have known what was in the report before she went to Asia, but she remained mum in public, although the State Department said she raised the issue in private meetings with Chinese leaders.
As she explained to reporters on the eve of her visit to China, taking up human rights abuses like the recent jailing of Liu Xiaobo, organizer of a manifesto favoring democratic change known as Charter 08, “can’t interfere with the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis, and the security crisis.”China’s Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi purred that China’s relations with the new U.S. government were “off to a good start.”
But as Sophie Richardson of Human Rights Watch wrote in the magazine Foreign Policy, a “long-standing” theme of U.S. foreign policy has been “support for the brave individuals who are working within China to improve their country’s rights environment.” She noted that the Chinese government suppressed prominent government critics to keep them silent during Mrs. Clinton’s visit. It will be a blow to the morale of democracy activists in China, she wrote, to hear “that the United States now considers them an impediment to progress on other issues.”
That is sad — and unnecessary. China will continue to finance U.S. debt as it has in the past even though the United States speaks up for human rights, so long as U.S. Treasury bonds remain good investments. And no longer.
“I’m very proud that President Obama has made a total U-turn away from the policies of the last eight years,” Mrs. Clinton told an audience at Ewha University in South Korea.
If that means keeping a closed mouth on human rights abuses, she and the president have regrettably chosen the wrong direction (emphasis mine).
Here’s the thing – Secretary Clinton serves at the pleasure of the president She has to carry out HIS policies, NOT HERS. For the Editors to not even MENTION that this was Obama’s policy until the very end, and vaguely at that, is disingenuous at best. Obama is responsible for putting human rights on the back burner, which is why a number of human rights groups were upset with him. How sad that they continue to participate in Clinton Derangement Syndrome, and are unwilling to put the blame where it should lie: squarely on Obama’s shoulders. This is HIS policy, not hers. It is far past time for the media to actually do their job, and stop their coddling of him. His policy, his responsibility. Deal with it.
Along those lines of Obama backtracking on his campaign promises, just in case anyone was under the delusion that his MAJOR flip to support FISA, and not filibuster it, was a fluke (Hahahahaha – sorry – I couldn’t help but laugh at the thought that someone could actually think that, but he – we’ve seen stranger things this past election season), check out this little story by the AP (they don’t like it when others run their stories). I’ll give you a hint Here is the first paragraph in the story:
The Obama administration has lost its argument that a potential threat to national security should stop a lawsuit challenging the government’s warrantless wiretapping program.
Oh, yeah, baby – Obama WANTED that ability, despite its being Un-Constitutional! He wanted all the same power, and more (remember Robert Byrd’s recent letter about Obama’s power-grab), that Bush had. It is time for his minions to get past their “disappointment” (as one of my family members referred to it) that he voted for it, and accept that he SUPPORTS having this ability for himself. Pull your heads out of the sand, and wrap your minds around it already. Obama is not the man you hoped he was. Deal with it.
Oh, and one more little backtrack while I am at it: Obama’s Iraq withdrawal plan. Seems it is not exactly what people thought it was going to be. Seems it will take a lot longer, and leave a lot more troops in than hoped. Heck, even some of the Democrats in Congress are upset about it, according to THIS article. No immediate withdrawal, and leaving at least 50,000 troops in country. Oh, and sending a whole bunch more folks to Afghanistan. Since people seem to have such short memories, bear in mind that the Soviet Union was in Afghanistan for NINE years – NINE. And the Soviet Union ended up having to leave, never accomplishing their objective. Why? Because Afghanistan is a DIFFICULT country in which to wage a war. There are mountains, and caves, and all kinds of little hidey holes there, with some mighty strong factions there.
Now, I will be the first to say that post 9/11, I felt that if we were going to wage war against those responsible, Afghanistan was the place to be since that was where bin Laden was. But it is foolish to gloss over RECENT history and not understand how difficult this situation was going to be. It needed more troops to be sure, and it could have done with some oversight from the Senate.
Oh, wait – the person responsible for holding those subcommittee meetings couldn’t be bothered to actually HOLD any meetings. Yes, Barack Obama was that person. For him to now claim that not enough has been done in Afghanistan would be LAUGHABLE if not so insulting. HE chose not to do his duty as a US Senator, and is now acting like this is his first opportunity EVER to actually do something about it. Pathetic.
Sheesh. It seems Obama is knocking off one campaign promise after another. I wonder which one will be next?

Clinton rules are in full effect.
I knew SOS Clinton would be held responsible for backtrack’s actions or lack of action.
He will always skate free and she will always be blamed for even breathing.
Well backtrack was selected and we are stuck with him.
For her sake I hope in time she and president Clinton retire and stop trying to help this country.
They get no thanks and only abuse.
WOMEN WITH INTELLIGENCE AND EXPERIENCE,MEN WHO SUPPORT THEM AND COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS

Bush’s plans would have looked similar to what OFraud just announced and were in place if not released. One big difference: Bush would have done it in a way to celebrate our victory and paraise the troops for a job well done. Obama not so much. He still is leaving a big force behind and I guarantee that they will engage in combat situations no matter what Obama calls it. Total BS on his part making himself the hero. Gag me with a spoon.
Chris
What Obama has done is give the enemy the timetable for our withdrawal.
All Alqueda needs to do is prepare for the draw down and then attack our reduced forces causing tremendous casualties and an embarrassing retreat.
Just what I have always said..
Obama represents retreat and defeat for America.
I had the same thoughts SM. They will lay low for awhile and then step up attacks when we move out. Kind of a no brainer, yes? What on earth can the pupper masters of this man have in mind? The total destruction of the country?
Chinese government officials recently released a comment about U.S. abuse of prisoners and how it creates a double standard if the U.S. challenges the Chinese on this topic.
After renditions, Gitmo, wiretapping et. al. America has no moral high ground from which to complain about “human rights” violations.
don’t forget the rampant sexism.
and things like prop 8.
RRRAmy, thanks, great post…
The article “Hillary’s Shameful Silence” was published to serve as a distraction especially with it’s provocative title, since the ground under Obama is not so steady at the moment; we know not everyone is praising his policies, his budget, his bailout, etc. And so the decision to demonize Hillary, so people won’t focus on Obama… Hillary was on damage control in China, tip-toeing on broken glass in my opinion, after Geithner’s comments on China’s currency manipulation drew anger, and now she’s trying to mend the fences. Clearly China blames the US for the global economic downturn, and that does not leave much room for Hillary to criticize China since to finance the debt Obama has budgeted will require the purchase of even more of it from China. So typical of James Clyburn’s and Jesse Jackson’s South Carolina, as well as the conservatives, for the newspaper to publish this anti-Hillary trash as that population will eat it up.
If America wants to criticize China’s human rights violatiions as the number one policy objective, and not jeopardize China’s continued financing of our debt, then we better look at some non-existent options. So the article was totally a cheap shot, a possible viable distraction, to take the focus off Obama, in my opinion.
Soldier4Hillary, if you’re out there, I would love to hear what you think about Obama’s speech in North Carolina regarding the military and troop withdrawal, if you can call it that. I wonder if the Obama-zoids are really happy these days?
I`ve said more than once on this subject…….Hillary would take the shit if things went wrong and Obama would take the credit if they went great.
Reminds me of my mother.
Correct — Hillary is always made the archetypal great Mother, hence getting all the blame.
Great article, Rev. Amy.
And no, this is not surprising but CG nails it above as well by saying this editorial serves as a distraction since Obama is the one on shaky ground. They can point fingers at Hillary all they want. But you canot have it both ways — people either have to acknowledge that he is the leader and it is his fault or that he is NO leader and is a puppet — therefore making others the ones really in control.
And if they admit he is a puppet king, it is to the media’s and his supporters’ eternal shame for pushing to elect him at such a difficult time in our nation’s history.
And especially since those of his supporters who are more virulent frat boy types gloated mightily saying things like “she now works for him, serves at his pleasure, she’s lucky he gave her a job” etc. — that makes eminently clear it is HIS policy and she is merely his mouthpiece.
So? Whose policy is it? His or hers? Who is in charge?
Their answer should be interesting but I wager they will be stunningly silent on this point.
Well said, Ani.
And thanks!
CG’s got it right, too – smoke screen to be sure.
So much for the buck stopping with Obama!
Oh, and Uppity – no kidding – isn’t China second only to Japan in terms of owning us?
Sorry I’m late to the party, folks – GREAT comments!
Yep–everyone at NQ saw this one coming.
This may come as a huge surprise, but given how much of our debt paper they own, we need China a whole lot more than they need us right now. In fact, I am surprised we aren’t all speaking Chinese by now.
I agree with this but don’t they need us too as we are the biggest buyer of there products they are now making in China sice all work moved over there.
if USA stops buying products from China it will have a huge effect on their economy?
This is a question not a fact but interesting non the less?
How do u all think
Our media didn’t report it but China signed a $10 billion trade deal with Germany this week.
sorry, its $14 billion, not 10.
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2009-02/26/content_7513922.htm
As usual, uppity woman tells it like it is.
It’s capricious to talk about human rights in China at this time when they own so much of our debt and America is hanging on by a thread.
We can idealize all we want to but those are the FACTS!
It’s a sad time all around the world.
I’m learning Mandarin Chinese right now. Teaching it to my grandchildren as I learn it. I’m also studying German, Russian, Spanish and Japanese. But concentrating mainly on MC. I’d like to be able to speak them all fluently within a few years. We shall see. I have a feeling I’ll need it.
If she was truly the person you all think she is, she would be like Lieberman and BUCK this administration. She would have the guts to say and do what she knows is RIGHT, and not what is politically expedient.
God—n it. It’s because of this silence that we are where we are. Why did she hold back during the election? Fear of what?
Fear of being labeled a racist I would say!
Actually, Hillary hollered about Wright, Farrakhan and the Woods Fund (Chicago pay to play) early on in the debates and the media ignored her. She was quite incensed. bho the fraud sat there smugly and dismissed her concerns, and the smarmy, sicko-fanatic media did likewise. She hollered about bho the fraud not holding one meeting on NATO/Europe/Afghanistan–bho the fraud’s “I’ve been busy” campaigning remark turns my stomach to this day. After Clyburn, JJJ and thugs pulled the race card in SC, their IGNORANT response to Bill Clinton saying bho the fraud’s incompetence to lead was “a fairy tale,” HRC had nowhere else to go except quit. She chose to take the high road and campaign all the way. She put the info out there for the media and public to see–the media ignored it.
Hillary knows the dirt on bho the fraud, the Congress, the Chicago Combine, etc. She chose to serve her country any way she could. I do believe taking the high road and waiting for the nation and world to catch up to bho the fraud and his thugs was a wise choice. We the 18 million and we the told you so club were listening. Anybody still dissing Hillary was not/is not. Hide and watch.
If this is true it is REALLY scary! We will be a third world country if we don’t get this usurper out of office soon!

Indeed RRR Amy. I was very disappointed but anyone who has followed HRC career knows she was following Obama’s marching and repugnant orders.
The truth is the Obama Adm. is indifferent to human rights abuses. Obama himself does not care. Period.
He praised the Saudi King Abdulla in the Al Arabiya TV interview and talked about his “courage” (re. peace plan) when he knows that their domestic tactics are brutal? And what what do you think he’ll tell Assad about Syrian torture when reaching out to him?
And let’s remember that Obama has just named as chairman of the National Intelligence council (ie. THE person in charge for teh National Intelligence Estimates) none other that a BIGOT and a Saudi puppet: Chas Freeman.
Yes, that Freeman, the one that endorsed China’s 1989 suppression of pro-democracy students at Tiananmen Square.
Excellent point, Andy. Freeman is a nightmare. But where is the MSM on HIS appointment? Silent, as always…
WSJ
.
Nice and refreshing isn’t it?
Rev. Amy, great read. That episode in SF regarding the accidental discovery papers, is a shameful piece of “now you see it, now you don’t”.
Rove isn’t showing up to testify because BO told him he didn’t half too.
.
Where is Holder on this one? Can’t a Democratic Governor who was politically and criminally burned at the stake catch a brake?
As for SOS Clinton? Just another day working at BO’s Foggy Bottom. Although I am surprised at the speed of which the dogs were let out.
In a NY Minute everything can change.
Without Hillary as SOS, American international relations will be a mess equalling or exceeding the economic mess in the country and I believe this most sincerely. Hillary is first and foremost, doing what is good for the country. It may take two years, but as surely as the sun rises, she and Barack will have a parting of ways.
I agree with you completely.
If she didn’t believe in his policies than she should not have taken the job. It really is that simple. If your such a good mind reader than let me know what she really thinks about Bill and Obama himself?
I think that it doesn’t take a mind reader to see that she thinks that Obama is POTUS and her boss. Further, she thinks that Bill is her husband; she loves him; and she thinks he is worth the trouble.
It is also clear that she took the job as SOS because she is committed to serving this country and we really need qualified people to get us out of the ditch we are in. I am grateful to her for being willing to do that instead of sulking off into the corner and pouting because Obama stole the nomination from her. I am pretty sure she is a better citizen than Obama is because I don’t think he could have done it and I am certain he would probably not even make a better SOS than Sec. Rice.
Amen. We need her no matter what. She would still be more effective trying to create change from within than being an outcast of this administration and having no say.
Ditto. There is no doubt she took this position because she is a devoted public servant. She has demonstrated that time and again. While Obama takes vacation after vacation, she continues working her heart out.
While I didn’t want her to be SoS because I KNEW she was going to be blamed for Obama’s policies, I must confess that I am thankful there is a mature, knowledgeable, intelligent adult dealing with these issues…
My point to every response here is that you are making a lot of assumptions based on your hopes and not on any known facts. Ultimately you are judged by the company you keep and the character of those you work with and for. I am not denying that she is a dedicated public servant but the rest of your comments are hearsay.
Speculative not hearsay
Not known facts? Um, unlike OBAMA, she actually has a RECORD, Aaron. We’re not on the Hope-y Change-y train – we actually look at people’s records and accomplishments.
Clinton, as you may recall, had one of the Top 100 speeches in the 20th century, and that speech was in CHINA on HUMAN RIGHTS.
Your correct about the past but the other day in Asian Clinton said
“The United States will continue to press China on issues such as Tibet, Taiwan and human rights, she told reporters accompanying her.
“Successive administrations and Chinese governments have been poised back and forth on these issues, and we have to continue to press them. But our pressing on those issues can’t interfere with the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis, and the security crisis,” she told reporters in Seoul, South Korea.”
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/21/clinton.china.asia/index.html
One would think that someone who is a focused on human rights would realize that in today’s economic situation they are more important than ever. Resting on your laurels doesn’t cut it! I don’t want to pick a fight and my response is not intended to do so. You are entitled to your own opinion but I have a difficult time reconciling the two diametrically opposed positions.
Hey, Aaron -
I appreciate your continued interest in dialogue. I think there has been enough written here to address your questions and concerns. That being said, you know I’m gonna say more!
The point is that if Hillary Clinton CONTRADICTED Obama’s policy/position, she would be accused of undermining him. And, she would not be doing her job. She CANNOT make diametrically opposed statements to the POTUS’ position. Given the “laurels” on which Clinton has to rest, I would think she is mighty frustrated by Obama’s stance (or lack thereof).
And, as others have said, given our OWN human rights issues, we can’t exactly bludgeon China on them. Also, because, as I said, they are second only to Japan in owning us. So, there is a major power differential there…As Hillary said during the Primaries, when was the last time YOU went and yelled at your banker? Not gonna happen, especially not when we need more money from them (especially with the “stimulus package,” the $410 Bn Omnibus bill, and the budget Obama just put out…
Her options were limited. Had she stayed in the Senate and opposed him on moral grounds, she would have been labeled a racist obstructionist.
Considering she, SOS Clinton has already been called a Carpet Bagger.
The ONLY thing the Chinese could get upset about when it comes to America, is our economic policy irresponsibilities. They want the money they hare and are investing back and not devalued. To even think we are holding them by the throat because they are already heavily invested is crazy. They march at the tone of their tune and not ours.
And by the way do you really want billions of Chinese, angry, hungry and marching on?
The only thing they want to hear from us is that we are solvable. And that’s the only way we can be credible on other issues
I’m happy to see that Hillary is fulfilling her designated function as administration lightning rod. Eventually, she will be burned to a crisp, all used up, and Obama will have to find another scapegoat to stake-out to the White House roof. But for now, good job in deflecting blame, Hillary!
Talking to China about human rights when our economy is in shambles is silly. Also after the latest reports of torture by US forces, we are in no position to lecture on human rights. The human rights activists are brainless if they think otherwise.
Hillary is being pragmatic and taking the right approach. More power to her. I also like the conditions laid out to palestinians for our financial aid – recognize israel, give up on violence etc. etc.
Even if it’s Hillary’s decision to be publicly silent on the human rights issue, I approve. The facts are that public condemnation of a state seldom do anything. Moreover, the US appears hypocritical when it beats others about human rights violations when it is silent about Israel’s actions against the Palestinians or abuses prisoners in Guantanamo.
Seriously, what did anyone expect SOS Clinton to do – Have a “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall moment?” No, that’s the prerequisite of the President. The only thing I see Hopey One Kenobi’s tearing down is the White House Bowling Alley.
Furthermore, she just took the damned job — much as we would like to think otherwise, there is a time and a place to strike — uh, usually when you have some leverage. This is not the time. As has been mentrioned here numerous times, with Gitmo, the Iraq war, Katrina, and other incidients — we are not exactly possessed of the moral high ground at the moment. She needs to build back our other alliances and friendships before having, as you mentioned, a “Tear doown this wall” moment — and you’re right — it is Obama’s station to say that.
I guess you missed the news report recently that said Gitmo was found to be up to the Geneva Convention standards..
A link would be nice to prove the point.
Like this one that the abuse has increased at Gitmo: http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE51O3TB20090225?sp=true
Never mind – I found it. And to be honest, when it is the Pentagon doing the review of whether or not its people are following the Geneva Conventions, it is a bit suspect. Let the UN or the Red Cross in to make those determinations.
THANKS, Tricia!! I appreciate that (and it makes me mad, too, obviously).
A related artcle….
“Be Nice to the Countries That Lend You Money”
http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200812/fallows-chinese-banker
Ohhhh–all of this makes me SO mad. But very good post, Rev. Amy.
Hey China, you can abuse as many people as you want, just buy our bonds. Prioriy one.
Yes it has been just a matter of time…Mort Zuckerman and the “Jews That Be” (don’t slam me, I’m Jewish), I support Israel) are very mad at her for endorsing the 900 million that is going to the rebuilding of Gaza.
http://wcbstv.com/national/hillary.clinton.israel.2.945238.html
Rather than type a lengthy diatribe…folks it’s called…
DIPLOMACY!
1. the conduct by government officials of negotiations and other relations between nations.
2. the art or science of conducting such negotiations.
3. skill in managing negotiations, handling people, etc., so that there is little or no ill will; tact: Seating one’s dinner guests often calls for considerable diplomacy.
You are right RRRAmy, it has been just a matter of time. The prominent Jewish population is very angry at her for supporting and endorsing the funding of 900 million for the rebuilding of Gaza. But it’s not a matter of her going to the ME next week with a check in hand. Many details need to be negotiated before it happens.
Rather than type a lengthy diatribe and I don’t feel it necessary at this time, people have to remember that it’s called:
DIPLOMACY!
1. the conduct by government officials of negotiations and other relations between nations.
2. the art or science of conducting such negotiations.
3. skill in managing negotiations, handling people, etc., so that there is little or no ill will; tact: Seating one’s dinner guests often calls for considerable diplomacy.
Did you really think the Kool-Aid drinking obots who elected The Big Zero would ever be able to acknowledge his mistakes and short-comings? To admit that he has made several huge mistakes in such record time? The Hillary bashers will continue to blame her for the Twizzler’s mistakes and praise the Messiah for Hillary’s achievements. Hillary no doubt, was well aware of this fact before she accepted SoS.
While Emperor Ego runs around with his head cocked up in the air telling people that he won, Hillary is busy trying to mend our shattered image across the world. Her positions on human rights and women’s rights stand firm and have never waivered. Enlighten me, was Hillary visiting China as POTUS or SoS? Is it only Hillary’s job to discuss human/women’s rights? Have you written to Obama and voiced your outrage regarding China’s human rights policies?
Where do his priorities lie?
O-bla-bla didn’t even think it was important enough to attend the State of the Black Union 10th Annual Conference in LA today. Instead he videotaped a message which he read rather pitifully from a teleprompter. Oh yeah…he didn’t go last year either. But, Hillary did and she spoke beautifully.
Hillary is and has always been a team player –for America. Obama continues to demonstrate his insatiable need for adulation and praise. He’s like a little boy. A true leader inspires trust through his actions. A boss instills fear and stress. Other than how terribly inexperienced he is, just what has Obama shown the nation so far?
*huge applause*
Stupid Obots.
Excellent diary. Thank you.
Great post RRRA.
Thanks, y’all!
And Scranton, EXCELLENT points abt Hillary, and “Twizzler” (good one!). She IS a team player for the country; Obama, not so much…
And yes, he doesn’t bother to go to the Black SOTU, but Hillary does. Just like he didn’t bother going to Memphis for MLK observance, but Hillary and John McCain did. Hillary spoke beautifully at that event, too, btw…
Let us remember and be glad that Hillary will not be part of the congress and Obama’s ruination of our economy.
At first I was upset that she was giving up her senate seat. But I am now glad she is out of that role and will not be anywhere near the fall of our nation’s economy. Obama and congress will.
The nation’s know where Hillary stands with human rights and other political issues.
It is not communicated from her nor can it be.
She delivers Obama’s message, but also she is SHE.
look hillary gets up in the morning and has coffee. they’ll complain about that. face it, the media is as corrupt as many politicans.
i for one understand why she did what she did. if others don’t, to hell with them.
I agree, stodgie. I knew this was coming.
I’m still not over the “Tibet thing” as far as human rights are concerned, but there is a time and place for everything–especially under present circumstances.
Things might be bad in this country…but I don’t think we’ve gone this far:

Horrific New Evidence of China Organ Harvesting Revealed
By Jan Jekielek
Epoch Times Staff on assignment in Warsaw
Nov 16, 2006
A Chinese military surgeon had eight Chinese citizens killed to supply a single foreign patient with a new kidney, said former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific David Kilgour on November 14. Kilgour spoke as a special guest at the Asian Human Rights Week forum in Warsaw, on day two of a five day program.
“The incredible thing is that the doctor would…go down the names on sheets of paper looking for blood types and tissue types and so on, and he [the patient] would point at names on the list. The doctor would then go away and come back with organs,” said Kilgour.
While conducting research in Asia, Kilgour interviewed a now 35 year-old man (name and nationality withheld) who received a kidney transplant at Shanghai No. 1 People’s Hospital in 2003. The man said that his surgeon was Dr Tan Jianming, Secretary General of the Chinese Research Society of Dialysis and Transplantation. Dr Tan also holds top posts in a number of Chinese military and civilian hospitals.
The patient suffered from an antibody condition that made it difficult to find a suitable kidney. Over an eight day period, four separate kidneys were brought to him and tested, said Kilgour. When none of those worked, three months later he tried another four – the last of which was a fit. The man was later transferred to No. 85 Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army to convalesce.
Dr Tan told the man explicitly that these organs came from executed Chinese prisoners, and that at least some of the organs had been harvested secretly, against the donors’ will.
“I am certain that at least some of these were Falun Gong practitioners who never went near a court, who were never convicted of anything,” said Kilgour.
Earlier in 2006, Kilgour co-wrote a report detailing evidence of China’s large scale state-supported killing of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience – in order to extract their organs to sell for huge profits to people such as this man. Kilgour and co-author human rights lawyer David Matas estimated that over 41,000 organ transplants performed in China could not be accounted for, based on published records.
Kilgour believes, based on many lines of evidence, that apart from death row prisoners, Falun Gong practitioners are particularly targeted for live organ harvesting, as opposed to other groups that the Chinese Communist regime labels as “dissidents” or “enemies of state.”
Falun Gong is the peaceful spiritual practice that saw its popularity grow at an astonishing rate in the 1990’s. In 1999, then-Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin outlawed the practice in China and ordered its eradication. Multiple human rights organizations have documented the communist regime’s brutal, large scale persecution of Falun Gong practitioners since that time.
Since the publication of their report last July, Kilgour and Matas have traveled to over 20 countries searching for support, as well as for new evidence that might either prove or disprove the organ harvesting allegations. Over that time, in addition to the 18 lines of evidence examined in the initial report, Kilgour says they found another ten areas of evidence pointing to the same conclusion. He intends to publish an updated report by the end of the year, and says that it will contain more evidence of the Chinese military’s involvement.
“We were hoping that it [the organ harvesting] would have stopped by now, but we are convinced that it is still happening,” said Kilgour.
………
This is still happening….according to Amnesty International and other Human Rights groups. Hillary knows this. She is no more than a spokesperson for Obama…otherwise known as an Obamatron puppet. She should have and could have stayed in the Senate and prepared to run in the next election, and made a real difference. It’s all over for her.
Falun Gong’s organ harvesting allegation has long been discredited:
