We are 6 weeks into the administration of Obama and what I fail to see is leadership. It seems to me this is an actor playing the role rather than a leader. I true leader would have fought with this own party to pass a stimulus bill that would have addressed the unemployed and the states financial problems. What we got were pigs at the feeding trough. This is just a redux of the previous administration with a different letter following their name.

Every thing coming out of this administration instead of strong decisive leadership is weak kneed response to critical issues. I fear for this country when leadership's main goal is to stay in power and reward and strengthen their base.

I have to laugh when people accuse the obama administration of being socialist or leftist and another group accusing them of being facist or rightist. They are not about a political idealogy but power both acquiring and retaining.

Only until the next terror attack.

I keep thinking how Al Quaida hate us because of our greed/wealth. One could think that they would like that we are going bankrupt. I can't help but think that they would feel the opposite, listening to these huge numbers being thrown around like it's nothing. Trillions here, trillions there, trillions everywhere in America. I don't like the messages that are being sent to terrorists. They did not go away just because we elected a black man. I know the media would like to pretend that they did go away and love America now. I don't believe that BS MSM story any more than I bought the BS BO MSM story.

Unfortunately, Chicago Joe, I don't think the news media has any remorse for it's role in helping to elect Obama. I believe they see it like, 'yes, the economy is bad, but no experience is better than what the experienced candidates would have brought to this.

I don't see anything on the horizon that gives me one speck of hope that the gleeful media, the 18-40 year olds, or AA's have seen one thing YET that gives them pause. They are completely unmoved by the unrelenting bad news day after day. The 'spell' they are under seems to make them think he is so brilliant that he can by himself figure this out. Never mind he has had not one day of experience to give any credibility to such unrealistic thinking.

My late father was a newspaper editor during my childhood, taught me to love the printed word, and showed me the meaning of "journalism" at its finest. Breakfast in my home was bacon, eggs, and newspapers. Dinner was pot roast, mashed potatoes, and more newspapers. I no longer have home delivery of any newspaper. My hometown paper is owned by the same company who owns the LA Times and the Chicago Tribune, and I stopped it during the primaries when I saw the totally biased, rah rah coverage of Barack Obama. I believe the Internet has much to do with the lagging newspaper sales, of course, but to someone like me to whom the smell of a newspaper coming off the presses was once sweet perfume, the lack of honest journalism, the rampant advocacy, the lack of any in-depth investigating, and the melding of op-ed pieces into the news are the primary reasons I no longer buy newspapers. With my background I would never have chosen the Internet over the newspaper, but I feel the quality and bias of our current print "journalists" give me no choice. Somewhere along the line we allowed "journalists" to become advocates, and the integrity and credibility of the once revered fourth estate are simply history.

Great post, Susan. If the current implosion of the financial markets doesn't give the phony bastards in the press pause.....I don't know what this world is coming to. The surest way to resurrect America's newspapers is to start telling the story of BHO. OR you can leave it to BLAGO who has a new book deal. He can't write fast enough for me.

I can not see how anyone finds Barack Obama attractive, he's far to skinny for his height and he has big ears. The thing to me that makes him so extremely ugly is his arrogance. Maybe I just prefer something with some meat on it and a little bit of honor, truthfullness.

Country before Party Always!!

Thanks for posting a "Sentimental Journey", SusanUnPc.

What I have found fascinating is the tango dance. While I would agree that "Duped" is a good description, it implies an unwitting victim.
Many people I talked to during this time, who were voting for him refused to embrace what they had read about BO's immoral being.

Now, I do not know what word one would assign to a human that has bipolar comprehension skills, but if there is one let me know.

DUPED is the perfect word for it.

Now, Howard Dean exploited his opposition to the war in 2003-2004, but he TRULY believed it, breathed it, lived it, spoke about it every day in complete consistence. He was sincere in his opposition.

Obama was not. He flitted about -- in 2004, he became in favor of the Senate's vote for authorization because, he explained, he wished to be supportive of Kerry/Edwards. NONSENSE. He was going along with the "party" line.

Then when it became advantageous in 2007, he turned against the war again, "finding" that 2002 speech that was so ill-remembered and never recorded that he had to re-record it in a studio.

And we have NO IDEA if that is even the speech he gave because there is no record of the original.

And the DUPED ONES drank it up. Believed it. Because they wanted to. Especially from a black candidate.

And it gave them a reason to oppose Hillary, the one candidate who was qualified and truthful, and who resisted the tempting chance to apologize for her vote, because she chose to stand by what she'd done because the intelligence reports had told her Saddam was a serious threat.

I could go on and on about it ... people are so gullible. Some attractive guy tells them what they want to hear, and they can be beguiled into falling for the attractive guy every time. They never learn.

You have to look at the record...I can remember arguing points about Obama during the primary, only to have his supporters refer me to his website. Nothing but the facts there, right? I still do not understand how many people and how easily people were completely duped. I suppose that is part of the mystery of Obama...
