quit picking on president precious?

Why is it that the very people who launched some of the most vicious political attacks I have ever seen, run around crying and whining about criticism of Obama?
I haven’t always disliked Obama. I used to actually like him, and when I saw him speak at the DNC in 2004 I said, “Wow, that guy will be our first African American President.” It wasn’t until I got to know him, and read about him, and SEE HIM IN ACTION that I fell out of like with him. And it was his supporters that made me nearly hate him. But, I have written about this before, so I won’t rehash it all again.
But, I would like to know, why Obama supporters and cheerleaders feel the right to criticize a politician ends with Obama? For some reason, his supporters think he is *off limits*. Why? Is he too fragile? Is he too delicate for criticism? Treating him differently makes him less than equal.
The Left goes apeshit over any criticism of Obama, most recently the comments by Rush that he hopes Obama’s socialist policies fail. But, what all those on the left, and in the media IGNORE is that people have been hoping for Bush to fail for 8 years. They have called for his impeachment, wished for failure in Iraq, and hoped that he failed. Obama was no exception. He won the election by criticizing Bush, Hillary and McCain on the war, economy, policies, basically on EVERYTHING. Obama can criticize, attack, even lie, but no one is allowed to criticize him?
I get it. People don’t like Bush, so they criticized him, hated him. Hung effigies, even. Some will say Bush deserved it, that he took us to war. Reasons can be given, but that doesn’t justify many of the attacks launched at Bush. And it doesn’t give the Left a free pass to criticize the Right, and then try to silence others.

I don’t like Obama, I didn’t like Bush. I didn’t like Bill Clinton when he got caught messing with Lewinsky. I criticize Obama, I criticized Bush, and Clinton. Obama deserved it A LOT during the primary, and he deserves it now, more so than Bush or Clinton, IMHO.
But, I have never seen such vicious attacks, as those by mainstream lefties, who went after Bush. And Hillary. And Sarah Palin. Attacks by people who have made it their duty to see that Obama wins, and succeeds. (hello, Olbermann and Tingle!)
So, perhaps the Left, and Obama cheerleaders, should do a little self reflection before they continue to be so outraged over the criticism of Obama.
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.”…
In a poll from 2006, 51% of Democrats, and 31% of Independents wanted Bush to fail.

Did a liberal on TV ever declare they wanted Bush to fail in Iraq? Well, here’s one from the Fox News Channel. On the December 27, 2002 edition of Your World With Neil Cavuto, during a discussion with left-winger Ellen Ratner on expectations the economy would grow and the stock market would go up in 2003:
RATNER: Well, unless he messes up the war [with Iraq]. My hope.
BUTTNER: Your hope?!
RATNER: Well, I don’t want him to be reelected!
Harry Reid declared the Iraq war lost, and said the surge was not working.

So did Obama. He pushed the meme that the war and Bush were failures, in order to win the election.
“Let’s face it, people are tired of George W.,” Obama said to loud applause.
Obama criticized Bush in his inaugural address. And attacked him repeatedly on the campaign trail.
Sen. Barack Obama slammed the Bush administration for failing to respond aggressively to the economic crisis on Wall Street and for his administration’s cluelessness about the economic concerns of Americans.
He criticized Bush’s stimulus plan. He criticized his handling of Katrina. He criticized Bush’s handling of the war. A lot.
Hollywood said Bush was guilty of war crimes. The media attacked Bush, repeatedly. Keith Olbermann made a living out of it. Then added Hillary and Palin to the mix.
The media even criticized his workout, while gushing over Obama’s. Hollywood repeatedly went after Bush.
Michael Moore made 9/11. Hell, they even made a movie about the assassination of George Bush, Death of a President. (I saw this on TV, when my mom was here visiting, and for abut five minutes, we both had heart attacks, thinking it was real.)
People protested around the country, to impeach Bush. Note her monkey/bush shirt in this one.
Effigys were made of him, and burned.
People called him Bushitler. And people accused Bush of orchestrating 9/11.
CNN and left-wing blogs perpetuate Bush Snub That Wasn’t. People cheered the shoe thrower’s attack on Bush, and set up Throw the Shoe at Bush games at Obama events.
People Boo’d Bush at a baseball game. People Boo’d Bush at his second inauguration. People Boo’d Bush at Obama’s inauguration.
This doesn’t even begin to include all the vicious attacks
FROM THE LEFT on Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.
My point is that, whether we like it or not, people have the right to speak out, and to criticize politicians. Just look at what the liberals did for the last eight years, and during the primary towards Clinton and Palin. I hated the attacks on Hillary and Palin, but that didn’t stop Obama supporters or the media. This sounds like I am saying two wrongs make a right, which I’m not. I’m just saying people have a right to speak out. They always have, but Obama supporters can’t stand it, and they want to silence people who speak out against Obama.
And I get the whole *well that was the point of change* thing. Obama supporters voted for him because they wanted things to change. They were tired of the ugliness that came from their party for the last eight years…? Now that the guy they want is in charge, they want people to just lay down, and just do what Obama wants?
There hasn’t been any change. Obama is practicing the same politics as usual, including media coordinated attacks from the WH on Rush, and any opponent to Obama. Obama’s strategy is to blame Bush for everything. Every presidential candidate runs on *change*. Unfortunately, people really thought this candidate meant it.
My biggest beef was the huge bias coming from the left, in their coverage of Obama over Clinton and Palin. It was so pro-Obama is was ridiculous. And, the media is certainly feeling the pain of the bias now. Ratings and subscriptions are suffering, and newspapers are closing their doors. They made their mess….
So, to the Obama lovers out there, you can continue to rant and rave at those who speak out against, or poke fun at, Obama, but it’s not going to deter me. I CARE about what is happening. And I worry about our relationships around the world, and the future of our economy. And if I don’t like what the President is doing, I am going to write about it. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to read it. You can disagree. You can debate. But, you aren’t going to get anywhere by attacking. That has been going on for two years, and it hasn’t stopped me yet.
I used to be a Democrat, but am now repulsed by the party of jackasses. I am not a Republican either, but I do have the memory of an Elephant.
