As Ferd says, there is plenty of blame to go around. My point was not that Clinton got a hummer and Bush didn’t. It was the perjury part. Maybe it’s me, but the strength of a man is in his honor. He broke the law. He was the President. He lied. Nixon lied. Is it the same?

My only point is that if you are going to rail on every Republican for breathing then you have to hold your own candidates to the same standards. It can’t be “well it was only a white lie.” Or, “so what?” Breaking the law is not okay for the President ever.

I did email the Brazilla a URL of the post. She answered with quotation from the Bible. I answered that I thought she had misinterpreted the quotation, and said a few other things. I did copy NQ on my reply, but her second reply indicates that she will not comment further. Good, at least I finally got her to “be quiet.”

I agree with some above. She must be thinking about her becoming the first woman president. What a wicked mind. She made sure she torpedoed the election of the most qualified and viable female candidate there will ever be in a long time. Did all there was to give us a fake, inept black President, and now she thinks that she could become the first female president. Scary and sickening, but she has the credentials: back stabber, inept, inexperienced, a failure (failed Al Gore campaign that brought us G. Bush), opportunist and BLACK–A MUST TO WIN! I just pray that I do not see this happening ever. I would choose Condi Rice in a heartbeat anytime over this desgrace…

Not exactly correct. Bill wanted to go after him but a big-mouth senator from alabama who later resigned in disgrace (Trench-mouth Lott) accused Clinton of using the bin Laden thing to divert attention away from his potential impeachment. Clinton wanted to put a hit out on bin Laden. Trench wouldn’t hear of it. In addition, Dubya wasn’t interested in bin Laden even though he was warned in no uncertain terms.

There’s plenty of blame to go around. Democrats AND Republicans screwed the pooch on bin Laden. We still don’t have him.

elise…If Bush takes a piss the wrong way, everyone is all over him. In fact, he has taken all the blame for the idiots in Congress led by Pelosi who’s a bigger embarrassment than Obama. Bush is blamed for the Dem disaster of Fannie and Freddie, etc. that Carter started and Clinton expanded. But Clinton isn’t up for the same scrutiny?

We of all people, here, know what a liar and complete fool Obama is. All day long we educate each other on what he and his thieves are doing to destroy our country. But, Clinton can do whatever he wants?

That’s silly. Perjury is against the law. He was the President. He doesn’t get to violate the law. Just like Bush doesn’t, Obama doesn’t, etc. Period. I would have had more respect for him if he would have just said “hey, I made a mistake and I’m sorry.” None of these people (except for Reagan IMO) have any respect for the Presidency that our country used to have.

By the way, I agree with you about voting “party.” Big disaster. Plenty of people knew that Obama was a big mess, but they just had to vote party. Thanks to them we might not survive. It’s not that I will be voting “party” for the rest of my life. It’s that I will be voting against a very corrupt group of criminals and until they get the hell out of that “party” then I don’t want them in my government.

I’mFedUp, many presidents had affairs while in office including JFK, Eisenhower, Nixon, Jefferson, Cleveland to name a few. I don’t like it, but I don’t expect any of them were required to testify under oath about something personal which didn’t effect their ability to do the job except Bill Clinton and the only reason he was required to is because Ken Starr and the Republicans couldn’t find anything else and had spent a fortune investigating him and his wife. I’m not a Democrat anymore, I left the party last June and I will blame Bush for what he has done and I will blame Obama for what he is doing because what they did and are doing is hurting the country. Getting a bj in the White House isn’t a valid reason for removing a president and I believe the Republicans knew that since they had the numbers to remove him and didn’t. His approval rating was the highest of any president, even Reagan, when he left office in a century. If I had to go to a cardiac surgeon, I wouldn’t question him about his private life. I would want to know how good he was at his job. I don’t have any problem with Reagan. I was living outside the country during his entire time as president. All I knew about him then was that he was a terrible actor and a Republican and until this past year, I had always voted for Democrats. I voted for John McCain this past election because I felt he was a better choice and after the way Hillary was treated by my party, I would not give them my vote. I’m sure McCain is a decent man, but he was married to someone else when he met Cindy and left his wife to marry her. I didn’t judge him for that because I believe there are many things more immoral than adultery. As long as voters in this country continue to vote party lines, there is no hope for our country. Until everyone realizes we are in serious trouble and division along party lines continue, politicians will continue to do what they are doing and what they are doing is driving us over a cliff.

elise…Ronald Reagan is my favorite President ever. Since my roommate in college married one of his cabinet members, I have a fairly insider look into who he was and what he did. You are, in my opinion, wrong about the economic success. I would debate it, but it really does seem that any Republican I discuss will be bad LOL.

I respect, as I said before, your opinions, but they are IMO wrong. That’s not going to change. I have been a Republican for less than a year. But it feels good, considering what we have been through with the Dems in recent years. I won’t get into the blame Bush discussion either. I didn’t vote for him and that conversation is tired to me. I’m terrified for my country and the vile degenerates in power who are destroying us are the Dems. That’s about all I care about at this second.

Also, I don’t give a damn who has affairs with whom. I’m an adult. You missed the point. Clinton did it in the physical White House. If others did, I don’t know about it. I happen to respect this country, its edifices, traditions, etc. enough to think that’s sort of disgusting. He couldn’t take the cheating out of the Oval Office? By the way, perjury is perjury. I know Dems like to think the law doesn’t apply to them, but it does. Clinton is the only elected President to ever be impeached. Yes I know it was overturned. So what.

ImFedup, we weren’t speaking of all Democrats or all Republicans, at least I was not. If you’ve never researched the issue of infidelity in the White House, you should. We have a long history of philanders. The Republican congress, the one which impeached Clinton, is a good place to start. During the impeachment hearings, Newt Gingrich was having an affair with his aide, later divorced his wife and married her. Bob Barr, recent candidate for the Libertarian Party but at the time a Republican, had an affair, took his girlfriend for an abortion and later divorced his wife and married his girlfriend. Bob Livingston, who replaced Gingrich as speaker, admitted to infidelity and resigned. Then there’s Giuliani, Vittner, Larry Craig, Mark Foley. The list is endless. I don’t have any really strong feelings about Reagan except for Iran Contra and the fact that his touted economic achievements are non existent. Here’s a statement from one of his own advisors.

Economist William Niskanen, a member of Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers and later chairman of the libertarian Cato Institute, writes that deregulation had the “lowest priority” of the items on the Reagan agenda[8] and that Reagan “failed to sustain the momentum for deregulation initiated in the 1970s.”

Elise, yes I understand…Republicans are all bad and Democrats are all good. I guess this election we found out that’s not true, right? I will respect your affection for Clinton, if you respect the fact that I don’t agree and have the right to my own opinion about him. If I choose to believe that having sex in the White House itself, and committing perjury about it, is wrong so be it. Ronald Reagan refused to take his suit jacket off in the Oval Office, out of respect for our country. Big difference there.

I probably did more to help Hillary in her race than most people here. I walked the walk and suffered through what the DNC did to all of us. So I feel entitled to not worship any of them anymore.

I’mFedeUP, you know what you say might be more credible if you didn’t make personal attacks because of his sexual indiscretion or call him that insulting name. History is full of politicians who have misbehaved and it has had nothing to do with their ability to govern. The important thing and the only thing that matters is how he fulfilled his office and there hasn’t been a president in my lifetime who has left the country in better shape that he found it except Bill Clinton. As far as finding Bin Laden? Bush had eight years in Afghanistan and and the tall guy with the beard is still out there. Can you say “Tora Bora”? After the first attack on the World Trade Center, the people responsible were found, tried in US courts and are currently living in the super max prison about fifty miles from where I live. Try reading something other than the right wing garbage and you might learn something. Bin Laden had done nothing at the time of the negotiations with the Sudanese government to warrant extradition to the US or there was no proof of anything. The second attack on 9/11 could be blamed on Bush and his administration for failing to pay attention to Richard Clark’s report since he was the acknowledged expert on Bin Laden at the time.
