It’s time to crown a new National Champion. The battle for the 2009 No Quarter Trophy is down to final round. The tournament’s top seed Barack Obama will try and keep his perfect season alive in a showdown against the little engine make that the big caboose that could, Donna Brazile.
They are holding their heads up high at CNN tonight as their contributor Brazile finished off an MSNBC two-step that will go down in the history books. The #4 seed in the At Large Bracket knocked off top seeded Chris Matthews in the regional finals and then pulled off a shocking upset of the Media Bracket #1 Seed Keith Olbermann in the National Semi-Finals. Olbermann hung in there, but at the end of the day, Brazile was the one that came out of the back room 54-46. She opened the lead early and kept it. Olbermann tried to get inside, but just couldn’t get around her as Brazile’s size, strength and determination were far too much for the soft and puffy Ivy Leaguer.

While Big Donna has run together an impressive string of wins to reach the final, her task is formidable. Barack Obama has been destroying the competition from the opening tip of the first round. The Messiah walked on water and healed the infirm enroute to dispatching the Capitol Hill top seed Nancy Pelosi 76-24. Give Pelosi credit, that’s the closest score Obama has had all tournament long. Pelosi often does Obama’s work for him in Congress and paved the way for his presidency, but there was just no way he was going to let her have the glory of winning a National Championship. It’s the second year in a row, Pelosi was ousted in the Semi-Finals. Last year she was eliminated by the eventual winner George W. Bush.
So now, we have a grudge match. Brazile helped make Obama what he is today. Using her influence on the DNC and CNN to push his agenda at every turn. Expressing her “disappointment” in the Clintons whenever possible despite claiming to be an uncommitted Super Delegate. Yet today, she rides under the Obama bus. No cabinet position, not even head of the DNC. It turns out Barack just doesn’t need her anymore. He’s busy bowing to Saudi Kings and she is busy telling us that she never imagined a woman president until she saw Barack Obama taking the oath. What a match. What a pair of gigantic asses. How do you a pick a winner?

Seattle…I really think it’s time for us to hook up and exchange my gourmet cuisine for some fine torches and pitchforks. Obama should never have run for this job. Never. If he had any respect for America he would have sat this one out for a few years and let a real pro handle what’s coming. I’ve been too busy to post much, and I’m really tired, but I feel the need to point out an important correction to your post FedUp. Our country has NOT given us our freedom, WE’RE BORN WITH IT! It’s endowed by our creator! We have just been fortunate to be citizens of one of the very few countries EVER that is structured on LAWS that are meant to prevent the government, or anyone, from depriving us of that freedom. I think that is an important distinction to make. It’s a distinction that 0bama, Pelosi, Reid, etc, don’t want people to recognize. They are the type that want an increasingly enslaved public to worship them in deep gratitude for the crumbs that they generously let us keep, while arrogantly posing as the powers that have made our lives possible. These roles need to be reversed, their world needs to be controlled by “We the People”!

This might be slightly OT, but I cried when I read it. Sometimes you just have to be reminded of the best of America…One of my friend had her house completely destroyed by a tornado two days ago. Everything. House completely demolished…here is an email we got from her today…
As I mentioned in my last e-mail, I told everyone that we were going to Sarah’s parents house. Well, by the time we were ready to leave our house, it was getting late. So, we called her mom and told her not to bother cooking, we would pick up something on the way.
Sarah and I pulled into a little diner, because our food options were limited due to the time. I asked Sarah to go in and get us a “to-go” due to our appearance (especially mine), but she talked me into going inside. She just wanted to sit down and eat our first meal since the tornado.
Once in the diner, a family (man, wife teenage child) sitting next to us were talking about the tornado and how much damage it had done to a family member’s home (who also lived on the same lake). We told them that we lived not far from their family member and instantly struck up a 10 to 15 minute conversation. (We told the family that our home had been totally destroyed, plus went into the details of our experience.) Once our food arrived, we said our goodbyes and the family left. As in most diners, you are given your food and check at the same time, so we asked our waitress if she would like for us to go ahead and pay her now (while handing her my credit card).
The waitress looked at Sarah and I (while pushing my hand down) and said … “Miss, put your card away, the family that just walked out PAID for both of your dinners”!
I wanted to share what had happened to us tonight, because that one family’s action summerized the hearts and character of TRUE Americans! As I sat eating my meal, I knew that I had witnessed one of many examples that makes this country so very great and special.
Obama could not have been more wrong when he said, Americans are arrogant or inferred that they are not special.

Katrina was not the only excuse used against the Clintons. Roland Martin, CNN’s newest show host *of ALL things* and another “reverse” racist, race baiter, and race-card player replied back to me with angry emails saying that many AA’s had never forgiven Bill Clinton for reforming the old welfare system. I had emailed RM in Feb 2008, angry at his constant carping against the Clintons. After a couple of heated exchanges and long emails where he scoffed at my suggestions Pres Clinton had done a great deal for the AA community. I knew it was a complete waste of time to try to “communicate” with this bigot.
According to the emails I received from Martin, many needy people were no longer able to get checks they had previously gotten. So, in addition to Katrina, this was yet another grievance that had to be dreamed up by the likes of Brazile & Martin, members of Jesse Jr’s Race Man Team.

First comes the information to scare everyone, next comes new legislation which no one objects to because of the first point. This information coming a week after the proposed bill to allow the government to control the Internet just makes me suspicious. Paranoia running through the heartland I guess.
Sewer and water processing stations are run on electricity. Control the power to these stations, control the functioning of these systems. Pretty straightforward.
I think I read that the bill includes a right for the president to control these utility grids in an emergency. The internet is included in the bill.
People will freak to know that these other countries have done this - and this may make them want this bill passed. They may not notice the internet provision.
When someone presents for therapy, one of the first things you want to find out is why are they coming in NOW? (certainly the problem, whatever it is, didn’t start yesterday). So it’s interesting to me that Homeland Security has known about this for a year. My question is, why is this being reported on NOW? (ie, is it not a coincidence that this bill is being considered now….?)

Have they dismantled these “tools” the Chinese and Russians (supposedly) left behind. Or are they just trying to scare us - again. I thought it was a good question. Viking answered it well, but that only applies to the processing stations. The actual sewers would still work for a while until they got backed up (then there’s always the back yard, I guess). Believe it or not, civilization has survived for centuries without sewers!
Bottled water would tide the country over for several days. Many people in the heartland have wells. If you have a gas-powered or manual pump you are OK with water.
Cities are much more vulnerable, of course.
Electricity is a problem as is relates to communications, but I’m sure the military/intelligence has a separate and better fortified grid. Most everyone else can manage OK.

Obama’s behavior in Europe this past week puts him far ahead of Brazile (imo) in the contest for Biggest Ass on the American Political Scene. (I’d say in the whole world.)
He has publicly expressed shame of his country to an international audience, and he has done so as our president! I have never felt such contempt for anyone. Obama deserves this insulting award. Brazile will have to accept second place–she kept her bad behavior on U.S. soil.

U.S.-Owned Tugboat With Italians Aboard Hijacked Off Somalia

NAIROBI, Kenya — Somali pirates hijacked an American-owned tugboat with 16 crew in the Gulf of Aden, the head of a Kenyan seafarers’ program said Saturday.
Nairobi-based Italian Ambassador Pierandrea Magistrati said he only could confirm that “there is a boat that has been hijacked, I believe by Somali pirates.”
The hijacking took place as the American captain of the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama was still being held hostage on a lifeboat being watched by two U.S. warships.
The head of the East African Seafarers’ Assistance Program, Andrew Mwangura, said maritime industry sources had informed his organization that the Italian-flagged U.S. tugboat was towing two barges when it was attacked. He said it was unclear if the attack took place off the coast of Somalia or further north near Yemen. He said did not know what was on the barges.
Mwangura said the attack was launched around 11 a.m. (0800 GMT) Saturday.
More U.S. warships were trying to stop Somali pirates from sending reinforcements to the lifeboat where the American captain was being held for a fourth day hundreds of miles from land, a diplomat said Saturday.

New Frontier Bank, one of Colorado state’s biggest banks, was closed down by state regulators, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation said in a statement.
Based in Greeley, Colorado, New Frontier had, as of March 24, total assets of two billion dollars and and total deposits of about 1.5 billion, the FDIC said.
It was the 23rd bank closed to business since January. Until New Frontier, the bigges bank failure this year had been California’s Merced Bank, with 1.7 billion in assets.

Brazile’s comeback is due to outside help from the DOJ. She was a top contender from the beginning, but she ended up in the top two with a lucky break. Obama clearly deserves the title.
