Axis of Evil Rolling Along

It does seem significant that the Tehran regime attended the Kim missile launch and reportedly paid for the whole show.
Soonafter, Tehran announces it has seven thousand P2 centrifuges and is opening the Isfahan facility to mass produce nuclear fuel. Next, the Kim regime kicks out the watchdogs and says it may restart its nuke plant. Does this not appear a game of bad cop, really bad cop? Meanwhile, the Pakistan regime at Islamabad (that sold the P2 centrifuge technology to Tehran) announces that it has sent a carte blanche to the jihadist-linked Sharia law caliphate of the Swat Valley. This is the Taliban unchained along the AfPak border, and the narco-lords of Kabul, America’s neighborhood ally, are the first target.
In sum, the Axis of Evil is rolling along, substituting the rogue and failed Pakistan for the rogue and failed Iraq. None of this is an Obama administration failure. Yet. The Obama team has inherited what remains of the Bush administration’s policies for the Kim regime, the Tehran Twelvers, and the Pakistan medieval anarchists. After John Bolton’s successes in the first Bush administration to build a containment policy, the Six-Party talkers tried drift, cash, credulousness and a blind eye toward the Tehran regime’s involvement in Kim’s whorish conduct. The result so far is back to the future of 1999.
The Bush policy team under StateSec C. Rice could have, if it had been historical and not intermittently hormonal, off-loaded blame for the axis of evil on the British empire’s (and Churchill’s) feudal colonial policy in the Ummah and on the recklessness of the United Nations to leave the Kim pere regime in place in 1953. Shrug. No one much does footnotes of history on cable these days. So far, POTUS Obama is drifting along with a long line of indifferent appeasers and start-over equivocators. Dogfight coming. When?
Once Mussolini invaded Abyssinia (right), to avenge a humiliating forty-year old defeat by rifle wielding locals against Italians at the Battle of Adowa, to show off that Italy was as bold and modern as the next carnivore, the frail League of Nations collapsed into self-accusation and ranting.
Perhaps the Kim regime is Mussolini Lite. Tehran is an ambitious successor to the Nazi Berlin. I am still watching the Tehran and Kim dance to see if the analogy holds up. Below find the headline from November 1934 that hinted how Hitler was entertaining Mussolini as a junior partner in evil-doing. You ask what this all has to do with the collapse of the markets and the gleeful plundering of the Federal Treasury by the bankers on Wall Street?
The Devils go to work only after the democracies are beggared by indecision, bad policy and Wall Street’s random moral turpitude. See 1929-1933 for the swashbuckling. See 1934-1939 for the Devils in for the kill. Uncle Sam stayed willfully dopey until Pearl Harbor.

“AXIS OF EVIL ROLLING ALONG”
One of these days, one of these nutbars is going to get up on the wrong side of the bed, or didn’t get laid the night before, or is in his manic cycle of his bi-polarity, and he is going to push that button and all hell will break loose…
NoBama is weak so it’s no wonder these two jackass nations are acting up even more then normal… They see the black version of Jimmy Carter emerging and are laughing their heads off about it!
Scott, I think you should be careful with remarks like “the black version of Jimmy Carter”. I think that sort of statement could be viewed as racist, and I’m sure you did not intend that. It is great to compare 0bama to Carter, I’m sure Carter is thinks it’s great too; finally, a president has come along that makes Carter look good. However, it is not wise to drag in race or color as criteria for judging or contrasting 0bama. His weekness, arrogance, vanity, and distorted view of the world should never be linked to his race or heritage. Jerks like 0bama exist in ALL races.
If you want to make the plausible claim that the main reason 0bama became President is that he is half AA, go for it. That’s not racist, just common sense, although Geraldine Ferraro unfairly paid a heavy price for making that accurate point.

” . . .although Geraldine Ferraro unfairly paid a heavy price for making that accurate point.”
She most certainly did. Savaged immediately for saying what a lot of people thought.
Unfortunately, though, Ferraro ended up big time supporting the Fraud. That made me sick.
The Fraud is a pansy ass who hates America. We’re going to get our asses blown sky high because he’s such a jerk. I have never been scared to live in this country, never. Not until this usurper stole the White House. Now I’m terrified that one of these creeps will take advantage of the Stoner in Chief and nuke us. Christ.
This is scary stuff. It’s why looking at history is important because you can always find patterns repeating themselves. Iran and N. Korea are bad agents and quite willing to take advantage of the current global meltdown, while the Obama administration seems all too willing to appease in the same way Carter bent to ill-winds blowing.
Time to stay watchful! I hope we don’t remain dopey and clueless. But history also teaches that we often repeat our mistakes, even with fair warning. Nothing new under the sun, I guess.
I enjoyed your post but was the comment regarding Sec State C. Rice being hormonal necessary? Sexist statements like that tend to lesson credibility, at least in my eyes.
yes, that was the one sour note in an otherwise informative post.
I have been wondering what would stop North Korea from launching anti-satellite satellites? I hope the people with responsibility are paying attention.
The question is how can you stop any country from developing nuclear capability, developing nuclear weaponry, or using nuclear weapons to threaten other countries? It is starting to look like it simply can’t be done. Following on the heels on the international community doing nothing but shake pencils over the I/P crisis, the international community looks like an f-ing joke. One of the dangers to Israel (forget about the disgusting treatment and murder of the Palestinians) was to
get Iran to step up its war machine. Brilliant Israel, you’ve done it. Help the real threat against you to find the political will to push the envelope. And now, with the Koreans having seen how spineless the International community can be, what the hell prevents them from doing whatever they want?
What are we going to do about it? Sign a letter with other countries condemning it —yeah, worked great with Israel. Are we going to threaten to go to war with Korea? Yeah, right. Let’s see we just move some people from Afghanistan over to South Korea, move some people from Iran to Afghanistan.
Uh, shit, even by playing Risk (the board game– not our entrenched foreign policy), one can see that you need to have troops to fight a war.
Oh, by mentioning we’d hypothetically move people to South Korea I did that assuming we would go to war with N. Korea with ground troops and such initially stationed in S. Korea.
I see a third world war in the future and another draft for the US. And this time there will be no defermants and our girls will go, too. Heaven help us!
One major point overlooked, althouhg it is duly noted that NoKo is kicking out IAEA inspectors, those inspectors include 6-8 U.S. experts that have been at Yongbyon since November 2007. After the champagne toast with Madeleine Albright, Kim admitted that NoKo violated the agreement reached before the ink was even dry. This culminated inj NoKo’s first nuclear test in 2006. The problem was that the original agreement accpeted NoKo’s compliance as an article of faith without verification.
Bush rightly demanded thereafter that future disarmament talks engaged between NoKO, China, Russia and our mutual defense treaty partners Japan and South Korea, be accompanied by verification, that is the presence of inspectors securing the Yongbyon facility. Bush was resolute and Kim acceded to this demand. With President Pantywaist now leading the the US, Japan and S. Korea in the six way talks, Kim knows he can can ratchet up the provocation.
What is even more troubling is that the President Pantywaist ordered, over the objections of our military commanders, our sea basewd x-band radar to remain at base at Pearl Harbor so not to “provoke” the North Koreans. Obama considered the deployment of the x-band radar “provocative” based solely on domestic political considerations.
The x-band radar is the cornerstone to our anti missile technology, which opponents say should not be deployed until it has been found to be 100% reliable in real world situations, which are not readily available since we can only simulate actual “enemy” missile launches. This deployment would have been the best real world test to date of the effectiveness of x-band radar to track missiles, and the data accumulated would be invaluable to our intelligence efforts.
