This is egregiously unprofessional conduct that breaches the basic canons of ethics for journalists.
This behavior wouldn’t be permissible in a junior high journalism program, let alone during live coverage of a significant event on a major news network.
I wonder if Susan Roesgen graduated from the Rachel Maddow School of Journalism.
She cannot even pretend to provide unbiased coverage. It’s beneath her. She is bent on offending everyone, and she quits the moment the crowd presents a challenge. Maybe she hates her job. Maybe she does not believe in work.
Send her to Afghanistan, and lets see how she fares. Or just fire her. She is pathetic.

Yeah right, I gave up on media matters when they managed to go the entire Dem primary and not report anything Olby did wrong. I completely agree. Watching Roesgen’s “coverage” of the Tea Parties made me sick to my stomach. This was the last straw for me when it comes to the dismal “reporting” of CNN over the past year. You know what really bugged me, she didn’t care he had a baby in his arms; now I know someone is going to say he should have thought about that, when he brought the the baby to the protest; No really? I just never thought I would see the day where “journalism” would go aggressive and stupid at someone holding a baby, really, foolish, but more to the point, really soulless. Demonstrates poor judgment on the part of that reporter, and really gives a look into what little respect she has of anyone with an opposing opinion.

Exactly, Katmoon. In a sense, having a baby in his arms made him an easy target. I mean, how effectively can he counter her taunting while he is holding a baby? And certainly, the sight of a woman arguing with her father (and sticking some unknown object in his face), has got to be an upsetting experience for a baby. The poor little thing seemed to be working that pacifier pretty hard.
I saw that oowawa, I saw how the father kept trying to lean his “baby side” away from the booms and those who were filming it. See, I would not be able to bring a child, even though I think the experience would be good; as I would rather have both hands free to slap the crap outta her!

This falls right in line with the desire by some of these “news” organizations to frame everything in terms that will garner them a larger audience share. They do this by becoming part of the item about which they are reporting, and by so doing, lose whatever objectivity they might have had. That sophomoric reporter should be fired for cause. She was baiting that poor man. Hell she should be arrested for inciting a potential riot through her wanton badgering.
It wasn’t reporting a story, it was diving right in and BECOMING the story. There should be some form of brutal public humiliation for slugs like that reporter/distorter. It’s getting bad, and storm clouds are gathering.
We are on the same page this time, andrew. We knew this was going to happen. CNN’s reaction was completely predictable, but their spin is untenable since the economy is far from stable. More problems are on the horizon and they will send even more out in the streets to protest.

CNN, MSNBC, and the administration that they shamelessly promote, have all declared WAR on the average hard working, freedom loving, family centered Americans. MSNBC has now drifted into the realm of pornograghy with their concerted and relentless campaign of painting decent patriotic Americans as a bunch of “Tea-bagging” perverts. One of the great journalism projects of the next year will be untangling the forces at work in the anti-Obama movement.
Today we see it on display in the the Tea Party movement — which seems to me to embody an amorphous set of grievances that includes anti-bailout, too-high-taxes and too-much-regulation.
The resolution in Texas about honoring the Tenth Amendment, another part of this movement, has no legal effect, and it’s actually a less-extreme version of the secession movement that has started to bubble up in Texas and elsewhere.
The real mystery for me is whether this is just ordinary political grumbling, which is perfectly appropriate, or the start of something worse — a quasi-militia movement that could become sinister and dangerous
The importance of the first ten amendments, the Bill of Rights, do not decrease in importance from 1 to 10. The 10th Amendment is entitled to as much respect as the 1st. Unfortunately, Obama lacks respect for both and the remaining eight in between. He views the Bill of Rights, which the Founders deemed inalienable rights vested in the individual, as “negative” rights in that they limit the powers against the people.
Constitutional scholar, my @$$, he considers the constitution as fundamentally flawed because rights are vested in the people and government derives its powers from duties delegated by the citizenry instead of conversely where the government holds all rights and powers and grants privileges to the citizenry.

As I wrote on the other thread about this: Susan Rosegen **was** a “reporter” for WDSU Channel 6 in New Orleans.
Somehow she got tied up with doing some reporting for CNN in the post-Katrina period and then jumped ship to CNN. I guess post-Katrina life in NOLA was too difficult for the precious Susan.
BTW: she was a lousy reporter for WDSU also.
And they place last in ratings because of these fine “journalists” I am sure. Shameful, just f*ckin’ shameful. I took journalism class when I was in the 7th grade and one of the things taught to me was objectivity and truth in reporting. I guess these folks need to get back to that level. I am incensed when I see aholes like this woman pretending to report news. I hope CNN continue their downward spiral.

This is a definition of ‘fascism.” Actually, the trend toward fascism in this country was started by Reagan and continued by Bush/Cheney and now by BO. It basically is a view that a few select people (e.g. BO and bankers) should run the country for their benefit and personal aggrandizement. While we don’t have black shirts marching in the streets, we do have a history of intimidation by BO supporters and our economic culture is contracting not expanding, as it would in healthy capitalism.

Oh how disappointed I am in Susan Roesgen and CNN allowing such disrespect of an American expressing their views. I live in New Orleans and loved you but now I understand why you are at CNN, They and you can not be fair, do not really care what Americans think and want and don’t care to listen and report a person’s views. I stopped watching the Chicken Noodle Network when they fired Aaron Brown and Put Anderson Cooper in - because he is boring. I did, however, check the mainstream media to see their tea party coverage. I was appalled with Susan Roesgen, Anderson Cooper, and Rachel Maddow. They were all unprofessional. Roesgen was nearly combative. Cooper’s and Maddow’s behavior was crude, bordering on obscene. They should all be fired, but it won’t happen because these are the faces of mainstream “journalism.” I won’t be watching cnn or msnbc any time soon, and will look for a list of their sponsors to complain to.
