It would seem that the Obama folks are petrified that a national movement might be underway. All of his appearances and speechifying around the country to quell disgruntled voters won’t work anymore and they know it.
His judgments and actions in his first 100 days have set off a growing firestorm of anger and dissatisfaction and they are just now seeming to come out of the protective fog of invincibility with which they’ve covered themselves.
Their mistake? They believed their own PR.

lol, in fact he’s a guaranteed backfire

that happens, when you’re a pathological liar

like when he told people not to stock up on guns and ammo “no need” he said…and I guess that’s why gunstore owners are sending him thank-you notes

Open Thread, so SVP of Freddie Mac, David Kellerman found dead today. Apparent suicide.

Comment by Portia Elizabeth | 2009-04-22 15:28:02

I just heard about this. He was only 41. I hope, if he left a note, it sees the light of day. If it’s unflattering or revealing about the ones in power (like Barney Frank), we may never be privy to its contents.

Even though I love Bill and Hillary, I still wonder why Vince Foster’s suicide note wasn’t made public.

Comment by tminu | 2009-04-23 01:12:51

I read he both shot and hung himself at 5 am, for no particular reason. Yup woke up to Mr. Sunshine and did a double-dead-suicide. That’s like taking cyanide then throwing yourself off a cliff, just to be sure you’re good and dead if you survive the fall. This was a suicide no more than the story that Admiral Jermy Borda or Vince Foster somehow shot themselves numerous times in committing suicide or somehow shot themselves at the White House with a different weapon and then drove themselves to Ft. Marcy Park
pfffft

Add to Lt. Quarles Harris chief witness in the “OBama is an Indonesian” passport probe, gay TUCC choir lovers Bland and Donald Young, and the list of deadies is piling up quite dramatically.

No wonder Sinclair made his life insurance video for youtube.

well, he is very informed on how a national movement can change the country. And since he is the strawman, it may not be hard for repubs to get back in power. They may take back congress or some of it in the next elections.

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

That’s excellently said!

I don’t know how to do the linky thing so it’s copy and paste time:

Maddow Losing Viewers LATimes
“The Rachel Maddow Show,” a huge hit during a historic presidential campaign, is losing viewers since President Obama has been in office, the Los Angeles Times reports. “My job of asking questions and being critical doesn’t stop depending on who is in the White House,” Maddow tells the paper. “My main concern is keeping the quality of the show high. We don’t debate the ratings very much.”

Comment by Portia Elizabeth | 2009-04-22 15:34:21

I am so glad she’s keeping the quality high.

I am so glad you brought this up, the Tea Parties were way more effective then both the current government and controlled media are willing to admit. Now they need to do what they can to put us back to sleep.

I think Geitner saying the banks don’t need another bail out is in part an attempt to take the air out of the Tea Party movement.

Comment by listing starboard | 2009-04-22 13:09:11

Apparently the Tea Party idea offends some PUMAS. They are convinced that it is a manipulation by rich Republicans. I am amazed that anyone would not be in favor of the Tea Party movement if they truly are opposed to the out of control spending and thinly veiled socialist agenda of Obama.

Comment by ziggy | 2009-04-22 16:31:08

Middle class and blue collar conservatives will go for the same republican sales pitch again and again. They always seem to forget what happened the last time they went for it.

By 2010 a significant number will have forgotten that most of the current national debt was a republican creation. They’re already beginning to believe that the economy went to hell because of excessive corporate taxes, an unfair tax burdon on the wealthy, government meddling with the free market system, and because the poorest segments of society are dragging us down.

Comment by penguin | 2009-04-23 15:33:18

You have alot of good points. However, Obama is continuing the out of control spending. Which is unsustainable. The truth is middle class people have no one to represent them.

From the article above:
The ex-president had previously expressed admiration for Obama, but this time Castro blasted the new U.S. president for showing signs of

“superficiality.”

Gee, ya think? Funny that so many people can see through Obama, even Castro, but there are still many kool aid drinkers out there. I do hope the kool aid supply is running out.

Maybe its just the good mood I’m in this morning but doesn’t it seem like the wheels are falling off?

We southern gals have always liked our tea strong and sweet!
You could starch your shorts with it! LOL!
It’s gratifying to see that some Americans are ready to be seen and heard!
Keep up the good work and make your voice and vote count!

Thanks Ray,
I know that the economy is bad for all of us, but wouldn’t showing up in Washington as a group be just wonderful.
We can all have a NQ event at the same time.
Larry could organize places and times since he lives out there.

I will seriously consider marching in Sept if some of my friends were marching with me.
