Oh, No! Not Again?

(Bumped up from Wednesday morning)

“this was the most thoughtless, senseless thing they could do to somebody, .. “

A gigantic dark airplane flew low over Manhattan on Monday, frightening office workers and prompting evacuations.

in what turned out to be an Obama Administruction – approved publicity shoot. .

The circling of the 747 around some skyscrapers reminded many New Yorkers of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which resulted in the deaths of thousands after two hijacked commercial airplanes rammed into the World Trade Center. Onlookers and evacuated workers said they were incredulous that government agencies didn’t issue an advisory to alert a public still scarred from 9/11.

Karl Rove could not have scripted this.

“Axelrod shoots New York over to the GOP column with the grace of a lead Condor.”

This is my assumption and I hope to be proven wrong very quickly. This was not the Air Force. They are just in charge of the planes. This is David Axelrod getting footage for some grand, soaring TV ad that will tout how his boss is making the world a better place. “Screw you New York,” he says. “You’re going to vote (D) anyway. So let me get my shot.”

  • The shoot will swing from the 747 flying over the stupid white lady statue thing with the torch whip into NJ, right at the Goldman Sachs building down to the streets where the farm animals little people are all doing the hopey dopey dance of joy because it is safe to assume everyone adores us and if that plane crashes into a tall building in New York, it is just a love tap. We will just forgive and forget. OK?

Moments before it occurred, the FAA sent out a memo on the photo op that included this transformative transparent statement: “Information in this document shall not be released to the public or media. Public affairs posture for this effort is passive.” What the heck does that (passive) mean?

“The good news is it was nothing more than an inconsiderate, badly conceived and insensitive photo op with the taxpayers’ money,” Bloomberg said, echoing the comments of Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer and other New York officials. “I’m annoyed – furious is a better word – that I wasn’t told,” Bloomberg said, calling the photo opportunity “ill-considered” and “badly conceived.” He added the federal government’s decision to stage such an event near the World Trade Center “defies good judgment.”

  • Judgment? Who needs judgment? All I needed was my face, translucent across the sky, overlooking the buildings of New York as a big ole plane came barreling down on the city. The ad would show how the smart people were sitting on park benches sipping their abdool-aide while the stupid racist rednecks were jumping out of windows. That’s going to be one-slick TV ad once we put the music bed down with it. – BO.

Do I think this is funny? Did YOU think this was funny? Does the White House think this was going to be a knee-slapper at this Wednesday’s beer guzzle keg fest, rolling in the roses at the garden behind 1600?

Who gives a flying object from your export hole? Chicago Politics works. Overwhelm the citizens with the BS they like to hear. Overwhelm lawmakers with more tasks than they can complete. Overwhelm the media with kisses, daggers, threats, secret love dinners and job promises. Practice Mushroom Management – Keep ‘em in the dark and feed them lots of solid waste. Take advantage of every crisis and always get the photo op. And, then pretend you didn’t know.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said little about the flight at his daily briefing, noting that he had been “working on other things.”

- I thought they could multi-task.

Verizon Wireless said there was a spike in call traffic during the aviation exercise. While some calls in the area didn’t go through, emails and text messages were delivered, a spokesman said. Network operations normalized at 10:30 a.m.

“I thought it was another terrorist attack,” said Joe Mastrofilippo, who works on the 20th floor of a Jersey City, N.J., office building, but declined to name his employer. “I don’t really feel too happy about the fact that nobody warned us this was a photo op. I don’t know why they didn’t tell us. It caused real fear and panic.”

Across the Hudson River, traders bolted from the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange although a no evacuation was ordered. The Nymex is located just a few blocks from the World Trade Center site, where new towers are under construction.

A Nymex security official was “literally standing, holding his hands up in a calming gesture,” said Peter Donovan, a vice president at Vantage Trading. “Guys were running right past him.”

At one point, the Boeing 747 and its escort circled around Jersey City’s Goldman Sachs Tower, the tallest building in New Jersey.

Andrew Wybolt, who works for Barclays PLC (BCS) in the building, said people rushed for the windows when they heard the planes.

“They just started sprinting and freaking out,” Wybolt said. While Wybolt wasn’t working in the building during the 9/11 attacks, many of his colleagues were.

“We saw a lot of tears,” he added.

The Jersey City mayor’s office said there was no notification about the military exercise. Nancy McCarthy, who works in the mayor’s press office, said she only became aware of the incident as calls began flooding into a radio program.

Evacuations were quickly called off, but many who thronged the banks of the Hudson River opposite Manhattan were found crying.

“For anybody who had gone through the World Trade Center, this was the most thoughtless, senseless thing they could do to somebody,” said a woman who declined to be identified. The woman said she had worked on the 13th floor of the World Trade Center’s north tower.

“I just think it’s terrible to do that to people for one photo op..”

WJS

I remember the press people I hired in my years in politics saying “Give me anything for a photo op. The people will soon forget how we got it. Just give me the photo.” I am smelling whore press scum all over this administration. And the orange-tinted viral advocates keep falling into their well-defined and pre-ordained trenches.

I can hear Bill Mahariznut now: “The religious kooks were running from the building while the brilliant atheist Jews like me made some great trades.” Sean Hannity will demand an investigation into the socialist plan to keep us scared and..

the rest of us will be left to wonder what kind of mind altering spices are they putting on the Pizzas served in the White House these days, and where can we get some of that?

Sorry. There are no photos in this post. I saw the video of people running scared in NYC yesterday. All I could think about was how my entire office staff came to my house on 9/11 and sat silent in a circle around the TV the rest of that day. I don’t need to see those images again.

I Remember.

Detractors be warned. I have a history of being very polite to people who have an honest and well thought out opinion that differs from my stated positions. I will not, however allow an iBot argument, that minimizes the pain all of us Americans felt on 9/11. It was real. It happened. We are all trying to deal with it. Please use intelligent compassion, if you decide to post a comment on here, and you will most likely find responses to you on par.

And ridiculoulsy expensive to boot — on the taxpayers’ dime. Not to mention how frightening for the people of NY/NJ.

Have these people never heard of Computer Graphics? No one has to do this any more. Hollywood doesn’t. Don’t they go to the movies?

yes Deborah Norville said it too Tuesday night.. She said I have one word to say… Photoshop…

Why aren’t the news media keep talking about this White House blunder. Whether it is Axelrod or Barack himself.. They are plain stupid and both of them could not help themselves experience how awesome their power is over us..

Comment by Baba Rum Raisin | 2009-04-29 21:40:06

But someone else wrote the line for her. Idoubt that Deborah Norville can SPELL Photoshop.

I heard it referred to as the “military office in the White House” hence the spin to pretend it was the military that set this up. Yes, it is a Karl Rove (Axelrove) type “Mission Accomplished” snafu. I can smell the arrogance and the sense of entitlement evident from the 0bama crowd. The cost should be reported and then assed to the political party associated to this expenditure, or make 0bama pay for it. Have 0bama tighten his belt, make him sacrifice, not just us.

Comment by No-nonsense-Nancy | 2009-04-29 09:27:31

I agree. It was thoughtless and mean. I also think it was done to intentially frighten New Yorkers. This is the most vile and evil bunch of people running this country I have ever witnessed.

Comment by C.S. | 2009-04-29 10:30:08

I agree with both points; mean and intentional, but I go one step further and call it totally un-American. I can not remember reading about or knowing of any political leader in our 230+ years who showed such disdain and disrespect for the People of this democratic/republic.

And even if the Soertoro/Obama administration is so ignorant that they were unaware that someone had taken off in Air Force 1, their callousness after the event belies any true contrition.

Comment by alibe | 2009-04-29 14:16:49

I can’t imagine that the White House wasn’t involved because someone had to clear the fact that 0bama was not going to use AirForce One that day…as he uses it every other day for some shopping mall opening like Miss America use to do. Ted Baxter, aka Barack 0bama, should spend a few more minutes a day learning how to memorize a one sentence response to an obvious question he is going to be asked. Having to use the teleprompter to tell the American people that the Federal Government is going to do everything possible to mitigate this epidemic is pathetic…beyond pathetic…more like scary.

Obama probabely intended to use the scene to show he is ever on guard hovering over his kingdom protecting his subjects. We will never know sure WHY since it backfired.

Comment by Hedy | 2009-04-29 09:28:38

Who ever thought of this photo op has a problem to be so insensitive to people that live in New York who must fear this happening again everyday. As much as Obama comes out and says how mad he is I believe he knew about this and if he didn’t there is something wrong with his administration.

Comment by jbjd | 2009-04-29 10:43:24

I could not care less what he SAYS; I pay attention to what he does. Did you see that smirk on his face, when he said “it won’t happen again”? (Reminded me of the smirk of that artist’s rendition of BO as the lead in the revival of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”)

HRC, having spent time at Ground Zero and observed the aftermath of the horror firsthand, what was your immediate reaction to this latest attack upon your former constituents by the man currently occupying the office of POTUS, which job, but for fraud and the duplicity of the DNC, would most certainly have been yours?

It was not only a big stupid ass mistake, it was for a big stupid ass reason and it also cost taxpayers over $300,000….

Comment by Astra14 | 2009-04-29 09:30:55

I remember, too, Eastan. All I can think of was a co-worker when I lived in NJ during 9/11. Her husband worked in the World Trade Center. We stopped work that day but stayed in the office, all we could do was hug and try to comfort her and each other as we watched the news and waited and waited to hear anything about her husband. He was one of the lucky ones, but it was a long time before we learned that.

That photo-op was cruel and I don’t think anyone is going to forget it.

Comment by No-nonsense-Nancy | 2009-04-29 09:31:55

Alibe,

I agree. Let them give up a couple of their outrageously expensive parties that they hold in OUR house!

Comment by Kim | 2009-04-29 09:32:26

Obama is feigning ignorance of this, and I wonder who he thinks is really going to believe that. I just hope that nobody had a heart attack or some other health event, because of the terror this caused. The fact that this little photo op cost the taxpayers $328,835 adds insult to injury.

Comment by i2d | 2009-04-29 09:43:40

Remember the $328k was just to fly AF1. What was the cost to the taxpayer to have the F-16 accompany it?

Comment by olivia1998 | 2009-04-29 09:59:50

Add that number with the Wednesday private parties, chef’s flown in and you have a huge expense. OH! How could I forget 500 extra for the G-20 that no one speaks of.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2009-04-29 09:58:15

You won’t get an argument from me, Eastan. I saw the clips of people in full panic on the Jersey side and thought: what an incredibly cruel stunt.

And why was it a guy from the military office apologizing? And then, Mr. no-nothing Gibbs feigns ignorance.

Bad, bad PR.

Comment by FLDemFem | 2009-04-29 09:58:58

With Obummer claiming to be “green”, someone should tell him “Less photo-op, more Photoshop!!” It would not only prevent panic in the streets, but also save the fuel costs for the planes. After all, how many people feel a need to have a pic of Air Force One flying by the Statue of Liberty? Those that do can put one together on their computers. Oh, and as a note on fuel use, today Obummer is off to Missouri, the Show-Me State, to sum up his progress so far. Such as it is. Hasn’t the high tech President heard of teleconferencing? Uses much less jet fuel and is very green. And with a big screen, he can be larger than life!

Comment by Tom Cat "wodie j" Jefferson Esq | 2009-04-29 10:13:06

I was thinking the very same thing just this morning about using teleconferencing vs the trips. He’s such a hypocrite and so are his mesmerized followers. Spouting off about saving energy while flying around on Air Force One and wasting tax dollars for a pic of Air Force One by the Statue of Libery.

Comment by Martha Washington Collier | 2009-04-29 15:07:45

Great minds think alike…my first thought was, Haven’t they heard of Photoshop? This has 0’s profile of “the sky’s the limit” all over it. We know he wanted this for his PR/campaign photos.

Next, I’d like someone to estimate the waste he has created with his obnoxious personal spending. Beginning with the obscene, tacky greek column acceptance speech. Don’t forget the $100lb Kobe beef.

Comment by Sonic Ninja Kitty | 2009-04-29 10:03:18

There were many calls made to the 911 system about this. I sincerely hope it didn’t interfere with the people who were in an emergency situation (car accident, heart attack, etc) and needed to get through.

Comment by sarainitaly | 2009-04-29 12:34:17

I was thinking about that too.

I started wondering today if it was supposed to be for the 100 days celebration…something like *obama rules the skies post 9/11* or something. I just can’t figure out why it was a TOP secret photoshoot….

and they have already waffled on the explanation. something is weird.

it was AWFUL, and watching those videos I feel SO bad for the people who were scared. It freaked me out just watching the youtubes.

Comment by No-nonsense-Nancy | 2009-04-29 10:07:22

How do we even know it was a photo op? That’s what they are saying. It could have been a maneuver to freighten people, a mean, nasty trick. I wouldn’t put it past them. Why would a photo op be such a secret that even the mayor wasn’t notified of it? It doesn’t make sense to me.

Comment by lorac | 2009-04-29 21:09:16

Probably it was secret, because they knew if they announced it ahead of time, a million people would have immediately told them of its insensitivity. I think they were being passive-aggressive by keeping it a secret – wanted to make sure they could do what they wanted. Of course, that still leaves unexplained why they wanted to do it live – when half the country knows how to make the same image on their computer.

Comment by Touchet | 2009-04-29 10:07:50

This is off topic slighly, but yesterday I wrote this comment:

Obama is nothing more than a cronie, just like Bush. Our politicans are nothing more than an extention of Corporate America. Totally corrupt and greedy. The press is their propaganda outlet.

Yesterday, while the press had everyone running scared about a flu virus, the congress passed another half billion dollar bill to “investigate” the housing market fraud. On the surface it looks like a good thing, but the finer print tells a different story.

In 2010 and 2011, the Inspector General of Housing and Urban Developement, along with the Inspector General for the United States Postal Service with recieve a cool 30 million dollars a year in compensation. Both of these positions, mind you, are appointed by the President of the United States.

Now, currently, there are Bush appointments in those positions. Something tells me that is going to change, right before the election. I wonder what deal or whom Obama will put in those positions and what political favor they will do for him. Whom will be the next 60 million dollar men.

Someone posted that they wanted proof. As if i would make it up. The specific text of the document can be seen here .

The information is in section 3, subsections b and c:

(b) Additional Appropriations for the Postal Inspection Service- There is authorized to be appropriated to the Postal Inspection Service of the United States Postal Service, $30,000,000 for each of the fiscal years 2010 and 2011 for investigations involving federal assistance programs and financial institutions, including financial institutions to which this Act and amendments made by this Act apply.

(c) Additional Appropriations for the Inspector General for the Housing and Urban Development Department- There is authorized to be appropriated to the Inspector General of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, $30,000,000 for each of the fiscal years 2010 and 2011 for investigations involving Federal assistance programs and financial institutions, including financial institutions to which this Act and amendments made by this Act apply.

This is NOT for expenses. That was out lined in an extention of the bill here.

Comment by Tom Cat "wodie j" Jefferson Esq | 2009-04-29 11:22:09

Mr. O worries so much about ‘Torture’ to people who harmed us, yet this plane ride was ‘torture’ for those who were involved directly in 9/11. And Obama does not apologize to Americans, only to foreigners who wish to do us harm. The man has his priorities all mixed up, but since he was raised in a foreign country, perhaps he should try to be president in Indonesia or Kenya rather than the U.S.

Comment by Hank | 2009-04-29 10:34:12

He should move in with Hugo Chavez.

Comment by mountainaires | 2009-04-29 10:30:57

It was INCREDIBLY stupid. I saw the video of people running and shouting, too. I could only imagine the fear they felt at that moment. If I’d been there, I’d have felt it too. To see that video spun me right back to my shock and trauma on 9/11, which still traumatizes me to this day.

Gross Buffoonery, and incredible stupidity, thoughtless in the extreme, self-absorbed, stupid, and simply unacceptable from the WHITE HOUSE.

I hear from Valerie Jarrett that the President was furious. I hope that is true, because he certainly should have been. I don’t agree, however, that this was Axelrod’s doing. I think the culprit has apologized, and I’m inclined to condemn, demand apology and that this never happens again. If Obama wants to fire the guy, fine. But whatever the consequences, they can’t just IGNORE it.

Valerie Jarrett didn’t try to ignore it on Scarborough this morning, she was appropriately contrite, adamant that it be investigated, and never , never happen again.

Gibbs gets a thumbs down; Jarrett gets a thumbs up.

Comment by Senneth | 2009-04-29 21:04:39

I don’t believe Valerie Jarrett, no matter what she says. She’s a crook, part of the Chicago combine politics. And I also don’t believe Barry was furious. I think he knew.

Supposedly, these photos were to be used to illustrate a book that Bo the Portuguese Water dog is “writing”.

This sounds like a Michelle idea to me. I suspect her over-sized pawprints are all over this one.

Comment by Hank | 2009-04-29 10:56:42

If true about the dog writing his book, who gets the profits from his writings? The taxpayer? Will they use the profits to pay for the cost and torturing the subjects of NY?

Comment by Docelder | 2009-04-29 10:35:34

The flyover may not have intended this, but it was a huge high five moment for the perpetrators of the original 9-11 attack. Can’t you just see them now thrilled at how America is still afraid of what they did to them? This has a lot of collateral consequences. It is unforgivable.

“The flyover — apparently ordered by the White House Office of Military Affairs so it would have souvenir photos of Air Force One with the Statue of Liberty in the background– had President Obama seeing red. He ordered a probe and apologized.

“It was a mistake. It will never happen again,” President Obama said.”

2 things occur: Is it better or worse if BHO had no knowledge that this was to take place or was occurring and found out only after the fact?.
Current director of the WHMO is Louis Caldera (Secy Army) who authorized this [stunt]. how about a call for his resignation?

Comment by shadow | 2009-04-29 11:00:41

Apparently this Caldera is a political appointment. I heard on TV last night that that position has always been filled by a military admiral or general but BO changed that when he came in and put a political hack in there. So he gets what he deserves.

I heard this morning that he is flying to St. Louis today for a town hall meeting. Just wasting more of our money. I can’t stand him. Everything is a photo op with him and Mechelle.

Comment by NomNomNom | 2009-04-29 11:03:37

Caldera was also Secretary of the army at the end of Clinton’s last term

Comment by Hank | 2009-04-29 11:00:56

What about the person that asked him to get in done?

Comment by Eastan McNeal | 2009-04-29 11:01:40

Another question is who requested these souvenir photos, and how were they to be used. Once a government (taxpayer) asset, such as a photo or film clip, is created and released it is available for public re-publication – such as in a TV ad or brochure. I know this because I help acquire govt held archive photos and footage for various filmmakers.

So the question is, not who ordered and scheduled this act, but why?

Comment by NomNomNom | 2009-04-29 11:22:53

re-taxpayer assets: that’s very interesting, I did not know that.

I want to know who’s at the end of the authorization line but I suspect we will be stone walled at Caldera. Imo this makes “why” a moot point, though I certainly agree it is the more important part. I can’t think of a why that would satisfy me in any event.
I am also curious as to who in the FAA approved this: I’d like to see as many people involved in this incident fired as possible.
Poor judgement of this magnitutde should not be tolerated. All of these people should have quit their jobs before milgraming.

Comment by Ashy1 | 2009-04-29 12:21:49

They were to fly over D.C. for another video souvenir but decided to cancel because of the outrage…

He was furious alright…furious that the public was disgusted with the stupidity of this photo op and the bad press that followed..Glenn Back was the only one who reported that the Obama/AF One photo op cost the US taxpayers at least $240,000. A “Top Secret” photo opportunity using Air Force One and an F-16. This is a laugh riot. Obama has no hesitation unclassifying and releasing the nation’s “Top Secret” documents, to the benefit of our enemies during wartime, but keeps secret a photo op for the purpose of making souvenir tie-clasps. Obama proves he is a genius with this stunt — a first-class commander-in-chief.

One observer suggested that Obama might want to do a photo op with a Ryder rental truck in Oklahoma City next.

And who takes the hit? Some guy nobody has ever heard of. If you believe approval for this idiocy was made by a low-level bureaucrat, I have a bridge to sell you. I’ll bet it takes twenty-six pounds of documents to get clearance for Air Force One — just think about it — the White House, the Pentagon, the Air Force, Andrews Air Force Base, the flight crew, the ground crew, the tactical fighter support, the Secret Service, the FAA, etc, etc, etc. — when asked about the stunt, Obama’s Press Secretary lied and said, “I did not see that before I came out here.” — The AP’s Jennifer Loven shot back, “Well, it’s been in all the stories all day.”

Someone is not telling the Gibb’s story straight:

The briefing’s first question came from The Associated Press’ Jennifer Loven, who asked if the White House was pushing back on the European Union’s recommendation that Europeans cancel any nonessential travel to the United States.

“I did not see that before I came out here,” Gibbs said.

“OK, well, it’s been in all the stories all day,” Loven replied.

This might help you.

For just the second time in more than five years of daily or weekly tracking, Republicans now lead Democrats in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 41% would vote for their district’s Republican candidate while 38% would choose the Democrat. Thirty-one percent (31%) of conservative Democrats said they would vote for their district’s Republican candidate.

If, he really didn’t know? Who is he? a bubble or a president? I don’t want to overstep the priviledge to blog in NQ, but sometimes I ask myself ” who is this person, is he real or he is a D in human clothes. No matter how hard I try, I can’t trust him. I could not believe even THIS administration could be so stupid and arrogant to make this publicity stunt for a photo op.

The expense, the waste, the chaos, the trouble, the mental stress and outright cost to fly an empty AFO plane escorted with fighter jets and FREEZE the largest city in our country for a friggin’ egotistical photo op/marketing shoot.

Absolutely mind boggling that these folks are running our government.

Comment by TexasMirth | 2009-04-29 12:17:44

The arrogance has been apparent for a long time, but the ignorance of this administration has begun to eclipse the unchecked hubris. I agree with you – it is mind boggling to know who is in charge. (and frightening, too.)

Comment by Don | 2009-04-29 14:08:57

As I have posted before, I was a registered Democrat from 1962 until May 31, 2008. I was one of those who felt GW was arrogant and lacking in common sense (or if you choose, intelligence) and was sure he would go down in history as our worst president ever. Have since the election of the Usurper changed my mind. I have no doubt that the Usurper will go down in history as a worse president than GW; not only does the Usurper exhibit more arrogance and lack of common sense than GW did, but the Usurper also has shown he has far less pride in the US, but then I guess that could be expected when one was not a natural born citizen.

I initially thought this screw-up could be laid at the door of local NY authorities. I stand corrected.

Louis Caldera will likely be fired. He probably should be. Advising local officials not to give the public advance notice of the intended fly-over was idiotic, and spending $328,000 for a few photographs was idiotic to begin with. (Caldera served on the Board of Directors of IndyMac Bank until it was seized by the government in July 2008. Maybe he thinks flying jumbo jets around for trivial reasons is perfectly normal, and some sort of tax write-off.)

Marc Mugnos–NYC’s Director of Operations for the Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management–has already been officially reprimanded by Mayor Bloomberg. He was notified in advance of the fly-over but failed to tell the mayor about it.

Comment by beebop | 2009-04-29 12:26:10

If nothing happens to Caledera does that mean that B0 was in the know prior to the stunt? How can you fire a guy for following directions? :) Inquiring minds want to know.

Has anyone read the theory that the flyover MIGHT be for a movie on the Tuskegee Airman called Red Tail? http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/04/post_167.html
Fly By Farce Theory (updated)
Clarice Feldman

JOM poster Mustang has a plausible theory on the fly-by over Manhattan yesterday: that it was to aid in the production of a film Red Tail about the Tuskegee Airman called Red Tail. Tom Maguire details it:

This is an interesting theory about yesterdays fly-by of Manhattan – they were putting together some footage which would be useful to George Lucas’ upcoming film about the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII, known as the Red Tails.

Comment by Eastan McNeal | 2009-04-29 13:04:57

Interesting that the last lines in the “thinker” story linked above offers one final theory:

it would come as no surprise to me if it turns out the Daley people staffing the White House didn’t think twice over scaring the crap out of a lot of New Yorkers for a campaign ad disguised as the postscript to a movie.

Comment by Dutch | 2009-04-29 13:01:42

I don’t believe for one minute that it was a photo-op. I believe it was deliberately planned to frighten New Yorkers and then document those results. Whenever the Obama administration minimizes an action and feigns an apology, I become very wary. I believe Obama knew full well what was going to happen and yes, he was playing with the American people. Someone earlier asked the question of who was actually in that plane. The answer to that question is worth looking into. This whole situation borders on a terroristic act and the Obama Administration has reached a new low in carrying it out. He keeps sending us signals folks!! When is this country going wake up and stop giving him a free pass? It has only been 100 days with roughly 1,381 to go. That’s an awful lot of time to wreak havoc with this country. Start looking past the smoke screen – the truth is usually very simple.

Comment by Eastan McNeal | 2009-04-29 13:11:00

That is a very interesting “also” result. People get used to seeing things like planes around buildings – say ho hum – and before long our guard is down. Like I said, interesting. I never thought of that, but I hope people still stay on their toes. I would have been one of those running or hiding and probably always will be.

How safe are we under his watch, if he insist of his ignorance!
I do not care if his WH cronies describe his anger, that’s FAKE ! He enjoys the joy-ride himself, flying all over the world and the nation. All this within his 100 days in office. I’m afraid, he’ll get so bored after seeing all corners of the nation and the world at taxpayers’ expense, he’ll think of something scarier than the NY flyover.

If Obama actually DIDN’T have any knowledge that his plane was taken, and being used for (nefarious) reasons, I would be really freaked out if I were him…

Someone took his plane, and he had no idea?? What if someone took it and did something to it? I would think there would be some sort of knowledge on the part of the obama office, that his plane was being taken.

Obama demands the WH to find $100 million in cuts and goes and spends $300+ grand on a photo op, proving he is a do as I say, not as I do POTUS.

Every company who’s employees in NY and NJ were paniced and left work caused by the Obama photo op stunt should bill the Democratic Party for their losses in these tough ecenomic times! How many millions were lost because of this stunt in payroll alone to NY and NJ businesses?

So much for Obama’s green program, for a useless photo op, Obama’s clan resulted in addition green house gases by a bunch of people who’s heads are filled with gas!

Remember something, when Bin Ladin finally spoke on the results of he twin towers attacks, he expected the planes to cause severe damage to the towers, not to collapse them, as usual, terrorists never know the extent of their actions, and neither does Obama’s clan as proven by this stupid act! Thus Obama’s superior judgement claim takes another hit doesn’t it!

When I heard about the planes flying low around New York, my heart began to race. My mind immediately went back to 9/11 having been in New York and witnessed it all I began to realize that this will always be with me. How could anyone think this was a good idea? When I listened to some people talking about running from the building tears in their eyes, feeling as if this is it, all the wounds open up again. This little photo op has probably caused more emotional harm than anything else. I know that people today are talking about how they felt that day and the comparison of saying oh no not again.

Saying your sorry and this will never happen again is not enough! I want to know why this was allowed who approved this? What was the real motive for this secret photo-op? Something does not add up! Do not tell me you were not aware, this does not suffice as an adequate answer, you are the POTUS this happened on your watch, if it was not discussed with you then why haven’t heads rolled. I do not believe for one minute that someone on the bottom rung made this decision without any executive support.

Answers please!

I don’t much care about the costs of that flyover. That’s chicken feed compared to flying in a pizza chef.

What outraged and sickened me was the terrorizing of New Yorkers who will NEVER forget that Tuesday morning in September. My god! I was in Cleveland on 9/11, but when I see the films of the plane striking the WTC, I still get a knot in my stomach. I can’t even imagine the horror that must’ve crossed their minds as New Yorkers flashed back when they saw another large plane circling their city.

And I agree with all who say that BO had to know what was happening. In fact, pursuant to the answer to who was in that plane, can BO account for his whereabouts at that time?

Comment by graywolf | 2009-04-29 17:53:32

His supporters are the very people who are going to suffer the most from loss of jobs… our capitalistic economy is unfavorable to the rest of the world community, a repressive carbon tax… call it pay for the right to even exist, redistribution of wealth… they think they are getting some, but it’s all going to third world and developing countries, possibly a draft for boys and girls this time. He is incapable of giving back.

When you have the mainstream media continually everyday hypnotizing your followers with magazine covers, press conferences, prime time speeches, scripted to the last detail townhall meetings you can get away with anything. Axelrod-Goebbels of the WH is in charge of every last minute detail in PR and I just pray that those whom he caused immense pain and suffering in New York sue the hell out of him. And speaking of the MSM C-span hads now been drinking the kool-aid also. Jonathan Alter from Newsweek on this morning talking about the Republican party said “they have all white people and less well educated, that’s who they have.” He sand the praises of BO for a straight hour and they let very few calls through that were critical of BO. So there you go, the propaganda is straight out of the U.S.S.R. model. Their pride and arrogance will be their downfall.

Comment by termo | 2009-04-30 09:26:53

I think this is an important point.

I think we have to right to see the manifest of that flight – what their plans were and who was on board.

The response by BO that he knew nothing is more troubling than admitting he knew. This is his airplane – the person that called this is a direct report – and this is just how bad a manager and incompetent a commander hits charlatan is.

If your suspicions are correct then there should be articles of impeachment drawn up over this.

The idea that the military, particularly the Air Force, would take AF One out for a photo-op without high level approval is silly.

Pilots do not just hop into planes and take them out for a spin. Not AF One and not even a fighter jet.

I was in the AF. There are written orders somewhere.

Comment by Mandelay | 2009-04-30 12:32:16

Aside from the stupidity … the brainless aspect of the decision to pursue this supposed photo op … and the unbelievable misuse of the planes and money, there are the film clips of the New Yorkers running for their lives once again, broadcast over and over. Somewhere, in some terrorist cells, you have to believe that Al Quaeda operatives are watching those clips over and over and laughing at the lingering impact they created on September 11th. Thank you Mr. President for inspiring them. It’s one of the more “enchanting moments of your administration.

Just wondering, does a 747 and fighter jet fly-by over skyscrapers in Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty constitute torture of New Yorkers under the Geneva Convention?

Comment by hinterlands | 2009-04-30 12:38:20

Well, maybe the people of NewYork could consider sueing the whole administration for the fear that was injected upon them…..sue their asses off for billions and make them pay….class action law-suit, as a matter of fact, the american people should sue him for this. Why should he get away with this ????

Comment by Objective Analysis | 2009-04-30 14:17:27

The Obama File has a complete webpage blog to this matter. One of Clinton’s former liasons for the military stated in WorldNetDaily that the order did not come from the Military but the White House (probably Obama himself).

Talk about narcissitic. You don’t yell FIRE in a crowded theater and you don’t act like you have no sensitive as POTUS (or TOTUS) when you visit the 9/11 memorial in 2008. Is he freakin retarded or a complete jihad set to destroy America?

He even wanted to do a photo in DC. Was he going to do it in Pennsylvannia?

Comment by No-nonsense-Nancy | 2009-04-30 16:20:09

I am quite cetain BO planned this and I don’t think it was a photo op because it has been said the planes are only big enough for one person, the pilot, and they couldn’t fly and take pictures at the same time. I think it was a very dirty trick to frighten New Yorkers. He needs to to be forced to resign! This is terrorism and maybe even treason! Wake up America and DO SOMETHING! Tea anyone?
