Jay Leno Is A Sexist Pig – Action Alert
By Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy on May 4, 2009 at 12:20 AM in Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, David Shuster, Hillary Clinton, Media Bias, Media, Television, NBC/MSNBC, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sexism, State Department, Women
(Bumped up from this morning.)
Recently, my fellow NQ writer, Ani, mentioned this incredibly assholic, sexist, comment Jay Leno made at Secretary Clinton’s expense. Personally, I don’t care for Jay Leno anyway, but now I REALLY don’t care for him. The video is below (H/T to SusanUnPC for finding this for me), and the comment starts at about 5:15 into the show:
I am so sick of the constant sexism spewed by people on this network I could scream. Never mind that the incident that apparently sparked this stupid comment, the MOnica Lewinsky scandal, occurred over TEN YEARS ago. Sheesh. Unbelievable. Anyway, below is my little diatribe to NBC (with a few edits):
Dear NBC:
On April 30, 2009, about five minutes into the show, Jay Leno made an offensive joke at Secretary Hillary Clinton’s expense. He said that a number of Kenyan women were threatening to withhold sex to force their government to stop bickering, an idea they got after Clinton’s visit.
This kind of joke has become the hallmark of what I now consider to be the N(ational)B(oys)C(lub) network, though this ignorant joke is slightly tamer than much we had to endure from reporters and broadcasters from this network during the Primary and Election season. Still, it is unacceptable.
First of all, it is just plain lazy to keep going back to an unfortunate, painful time over eleven years ago in Secretary Clinton’s life. And it is incredibly juvenile to stoop to this level (again and again and again).
Second of all, Leno and his writers are essentially blaming the woman for her husband straying, which is offensive on the face of it.
Third of all, Secretary Clinton is an amazingly accomplished woman in her own right, having worked tirelessly for this country in one way or another, from the Children’s Defense Fund, to First Lady of Arkansas, to First Lady of the United States, to a two-term US Senator, to the person who received more votes than anyone else in US history in the 2008 Primary season, to current Secretary of State.
Frankly, I am sick of what has become accepted sexism, even misogyny, on this network and its affiliates (remember David Shuster calling Chelsea Clinton a whore and her mother a pimp? I sure do.). It has become the status quo at this network, and it is UNACCEPTABLE. This past election season, with the aid of the mainstream media in general, became open season on women. I, for one, will not stand for it.
Evidently, Mr. Leno has not bothered to review Secretary Clinton’s work with nations abroad, their overwhelming support of her, or bothered to learn that the State Department blog, under Clinton, has received over 5,000,000 views since she took office. But, hey, why should Leno bother to actually educate himself about her work when it is just so much easier to take a cheap shot at this incredible woman, a role model to millions across the world? It is lazy, it is intellectually dishonest, and it is sexist.
Mr. Leno owes Secretary Clinton, and all women, an apology. NBC needs to take a good, long look at the treatment of women it exudes from its newscasters to its “comedians,” and it needs to change. Enough is enough.
Sincerely,
The Rev. Amy
If you, too, would like to ive them a piece of your mind, here’s how: Contact NBC.

Personally, I found the entire opening monologue offensive. He was giving nothing but easy, non-thinking jokes about EVERYTHING. This is the age of sound bites and no complex thinking. It’s why I can’t watch television anymore.
Leno is not worth thinking about. He owes Hillary and the world an apology.
Yes, and while he is at it, he should also apologies to his give because she is a feminist activist who works tirelessly for equality of women, especially those under Sharia Law. Jay, should have a good chat with the fellow that wrote his lines and ask him to sit next to him while they look over Hillary’s resume.
Women in Afghanistan

…..
give was to be ‘wife’…Mavis Leno has worked tirelessly for the rights of women who are oppressed under Sharia Law.
I wonder if Jay is keeping track of the “progress” on the internal probe regarding the NYC flyover of the back up Scare Force One? Seems to have gone very quiet. Typical. No one in the media holds the Zero Administration to any of its commitments. They are hoping that a couple of news cycles will push this so far back into the memory recesses that the MSM will yawn.
Don’t hold your breath hoping for anyone to point out what you can see with your eyes. It is clear that he is off limits, and the press/media are his cheerleaders.
I would hope that Bloomberg would keep asking. This was just BS. Wasted money. Stupid maneuver. Panicked citizens. WTF?
Obama Jokes Still Off Limits To America’s Comedians

Funny thing about Obama …
Well, maybe not so funny. Comedians are treading carefully as they test the limits of political satire with a black president.

…
You can joke about God, but not Obama, he is OFF LIMITS!
W.T.oh.my GOD.
See, to me, Woman Voter, that makes Leno’s cheap sexist shots even WORSE! His wife is clearly working on behalf of women, and he, too often, makes jokes at our expense. Wassup with that?
Haven’t/Can’t/Won’t watch Leno or Letterman or the other so-called comedians.
I stopped over a year ago, and that includes watching MSNBC and CNN. May these latters’ paltry ratings continue to tank.
If Americans would stop watching these stoopid shows, their stoopid hosts would stop getting hyperinflated salaries for broadcasting yet more stoopidity. Killing your teevee is not a crime (at least not yet).
I stopped watching Leno years ago when he insulted the Amtrak engineers. He owes so many people apologies that it would take many weeks of his whole show to get them done
A good comedian can make you laugh without belittling people. That leaves Leno out.
There is no longer any news or entertainment on msm.
Just a bunch of know nothing prostitutes getting paid for taking up time.
WOMEN WITH INTELLIGENCE AND EXPERIENCE,MEN WHO SUPPORT THEM AND COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS,BUBBAS,EQUALISTS AND THOSE PEOPLE RULE
i have NEVER liked or watched any of the late night “comedians” for just the reasons you mentioned. they think that nastiness and demeaning people is funny. someone like ellen degeneres is a lot funnier without putting people down.
i can see though why jay would be worried about women withholding sex; a lot of women have probably withheld sex from him throughout his life.
rofl
I’ll ditto your comment, although I used to watch Jay from time to time when he had the fruitcake lady on, not for him. She would make me laugh till I cried. She was hilarious when she was teaching Tom Cruise to make a fruitcake.
Here’s a few videos of her.

Looks like Jay Leno needs another granny to settle him down and make him some humble pie and serve it to him him with some tea to work out the misogyny skits out.
Nah, I think Leno, Letterman, Olbermann, Matthews and several others need to get out of our homes and off our televisions. We need to stand up and say we will not tolerate misogyny any more than we will Gay bashing, or racism. Enough is enough.
I for one am getting sick of the chauvinistic BS that is growing in this country, women are forgetting. Perhaps it’s getting close to time for a third wave to remind the younger generations of just what women have been through in this country. The struggles they’ve made to get to where they are now. To tell them it’s not OK to be used for a punching bag. It’s not OK for men to talk to you this way. It is OK to say no. Etc.
Jay needs to do his homework. The idea of withholding sex to accomplish a political goal is much older than Hillary Clinton. It goes back to “Lysistrata”, a play by Aristophanes, originally performed in 411 BC. Here is the Wiki link for the play. Read it, it’s very interesting.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysistrata
The war they were ending was the Peloponnesian War. It worked.
Great point — but that would have required Jay to do some thinking — nah! Bashing Hillary is much more fun for him than bashing Lysistrata. Such a boob.
Thanks, Rev. Amy for posting this article – and for your letter — I sent one to NBC on Thursday night myself. I hope others will also — better yet, send to their advertisers.
Other than the fact that it was not even a good line (hardly anyone laughed – even with the laugh sign) I thought it made Bill out to be the twit. But even if he meant it as a sexist joke, it didn’t come off good and should fire the writer who gave it to him.
THANK YOU, Rev Amy, and bless your heart! Brilliant: N(ational)B(oys)C(lub) network. Enquiring minds want to know: when will these slimeballs WAKE UP? NBC = the scum of the earth! A national boycott is long overdue. If money is all these jerks understand, they vote with your remote!
i have been boycotting them for a long time.buncha pigs..
And Ani, it was my pleasure. Thanks for the heads up!
With all the things that COULD be said abt the Obamas, or even the Bushs, for that matter (that aren’t even that mean-spirited), I continue to be AMAZED that Leno and Letterman keep bringing up Lewinsky!! I mean, really – move on already!
And for the article below abt Hillary finally beating Obama, she beat him in the Primaries. She beat him in terms of sheer votes. She beat him in every major state in the COUNTRY except his home state. Arran is absolutely right – this isn’t the NEW Hillary, this is the Hillary WE KNEW!
I stopped watching CNN and MSNBC and all late night during this election. Thank you for including the link to NBC since I had trouble all thru the primary of trying to contact them. I think sexism will only get worse for my granddaughters’ generation because all women did not stand up and put a stop to the mistreatment of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.
ALL of 0zeros supporters are sexist pigs.
I don’t watch tv — I gave it up years ago.
There was a YouTube montage filled with the misogynistic, hateful remarks made by mostly men on several networks about Clinton during the Primary. It wasn’t surprising but it is a classic and so damned typical of the crap that passes for news and views on TV.
The only way these creeps will change is if everyone who cares, who gives a damn STOPS WATCHING TV. That is the sort of “with holding” favors that the jerks will understand.
Try hulu.com (if you have high speed internet) to watch your favorite shows — when YOU want to watch them.
1: Really? All the lesbians who support Obama are sexist pigs? All the hard working women who support him are also sexists? Not to mention all the guys like me who have no problem with women.
2: Watching shows on hulu in no way upsets the networks; they want nothing more than to monetize the internet and the more viewers they get, the better, because then they can charge higher rates for online ads. Also, for online programming, the networks get to pay much lower residuals to actors, writers, etc, so it’s more money in network pockets.
No, they are deluded fools who didn’t do their homework.
You can’t fault him for he is Canadian and he doesn’t know what he’s doing… LOL Thank God his contract for the show is almost over… however, I don’t think the next guy coming in, Conan Obrien, is any better….another Kool Aid drinker…. WHATEVER happened to the days of Johnny Carson?!
Jay Leno was born in New Rochelle, New York, on April 28, 1950. His mother, Catherine, a filmmaker, was born in Greenock, Scotland, and came to the United States at age 11. Her schooling was limited and as a result she prized her children’s successes. Leno’s father, Angelo, who worked in show business, was born in New York to immigrants from Flumeri, Italy.
Born in New Rochelle NY, raised and schooled in in Andover, MA. Unfortunately, Massachuseets must take responsibility for him and give New York a pass.
Very unfortunate, but Jay Leno was born and raised in Massachusetts. On behalf of all New Englanders, I apologize. Same for Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and the likes. My deepest condolences. The section of the country which brought us many of the great minds of our founding fathers, public schools, hospitals, libraries, universities and Transcendentalism has degraded. We now produce the likes of the brothers Koh, Jon Farveau, and Jay Leno. So sorry. I don’t know what happen, but please remember we supported Hillary in the primaries, so we still have some redeeming qualities!
Best damn lobster rolls in the USA!
My bad…. not sure why I thought he was born in Canada… the sad part is we can’t even blame them for such a sorry excuse for a late night show! LOL
Amy I’m a big Hilary fan and can take or leave Leno..he’s just mainstream. But that was not a sexist joke. It was a dumb joke.
You have your panties in a bunch….get over it. If you call everything sexist then nothing is sexist. Save your outrage for the truly outrageous stuff.
What are you talking about? Perhaps in your world that isn’t sexist; notice most others on this board, happen to think differently, and really lay off the the rude remarks to RRRA, Get Over Yourself Fool.
There was nothing sexist about it. No one has explained how it is sexist at all. And I’m a HUGE Hilary fan. It’s a shit joke….and that’s about it.
I am and know HRC supporters; Alicee, you’re no supporter.
Alicee, only a woman would be the subject of a joke about their sexual attractiveness or lack thereof. That’s why I think it’s sexist.
Alicee and other like-minded individuals: Hillary being judged over her husband Bill Clinton’s behavior and actions is “straight up” sexism (to use the words of Jeanane.) And on an additional tangent, IMHO, Hillary’s decision to stay in her marriage is OFF the judgement scale. We were not in her shoes. We only know how we would react. We didn’t know the strength of her marriage, we didn’t know her ability to forgive, we didn’t know the level of spiritual devotion she has to the institution of marriage, we didn’t know her feelings about the impact to Chelsea and maybe future grandchildren.
Real feminists care about a woman having information about her options and real choices. We don’t pigeon hole woman into a politically correct course.
Thank you, Tuppence411 for an outstanding comment. I concur.
ferd
Is sexist.
Is Bot.
For me its simple. Boycott GE when possible. I don’t watch NBC or MSNBC, and I choose products manufactured by GE competitiors. Oh, and it won’t be long before Letterman is making jokes about the tired Leno who was replaced by someone younger and funnier. Karma
to rickrickrick and all USAmericans!!! Appliances by GE are made in MEXICO!!! Take those job from Mexico, charge those Companies like BE(W.Buffet has at list 5 billions in GE stocks) high TAXES and make those jobs to come back to USA!!! Pres.Obama promise US in Primaries that He will rise those taxes all Companies who left USA!!!
And what makes you think he is going to keep his promises? So far, he hasn’t done very well. Didn’t read bills before signing, ignored the huge number of earmarks in the stimulus bill, did not post the bills online for five days before voting, etc, etc. During the primaries and the presidential campaign he said what he thought people wanted to hear, not what he really meant. He is a snake oil salesman, surely you have noticed that by now?? We all have.
OT – IMPORTANT
President Barack Obama can’t top Hillary Clinton in job approval rating
BY Richard Sisk
DAILY NEWS
WASHINGTON BUREAU
Sunday, May 3rd 2009, 4:00 AM
Kleponis/Bloomberg
Hillary Clinton’s job approval rating as Secretary of State is higher than Barack Obama’s as President.
WASHINGTON – At the 100-day mark last week, Hillary Clinton could finally say she beat Barack Obama.
The most recent polls show Clinton with a whopping job approval rating of 71% as secretary of state, while the new President topped out at 65%.
Even among Hillary admirers, that lofty rating is a bit of a stunner, given her past reputation as one of the most polarizing figures on the American scene.
“She’s acting like a statesman and diplomat and representing her President instead of herself,” said a prominent Democrat. “She hasn’t gone off on her own as many predicted. It’s been very rehabilitating for her image.”
Her husband has helped the rehab by stifling, somewhat, his yen for headlines. Concerns that his fund-raising and foundations might pose conflicts of interest, which caused the only friction at her confirmation hearings, have not been realized – yet.
Hillary also has labored to smooth over the lingering rifts from the campaign with Obama and his inner circle, most notably First Lady Michelle Obama.
Declaring a truce at Foggy Bottom in March, Obama joked about her refusal during the campaign to mention Clinton’s name, calling her “the other candidate.” With a grin, Obama said, “Let me thank Secretary Clinton – I love saying that!”
Even the usual trashers of all things Clinton had a hard time being critical.
“I’m not, but give me time,” said Elliott Abrams, who served on the National Security Council of former President George W. Bush and in Ronald Reagan’s State Department.
Abrams noted that Obama has absorbed much of the foreign policy flak that would have gone Clinton’s way by getting himself stuck in no-win situations, such as the “happy, smiley” photo op with flaky Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
He knocked Clinton for putting human rights on the back burner on her China trip, but gave her high marks for turning around a department that had been on the losing end of turf wars with the Pentagon under Bush.
Clinton is “using her political talents in the building. She’s talking to people; she’s nice to people. Morale is good,” said Abrams.
And she’s playing well with others. Unlike former Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld, who was barely civil to Bush Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Robert Gates had Clinton’s back at a Senate hearing last week.
“I couldn’t agree with you more,” Gates said repeatedly as Clinton rattled off talking points.
Obama has piled the diplomatic plate high for Clinton, tasking her with risky openings to Iran and Cuba, while getting North Korea to disarm, putting down the Taliban threat in Pakistan and bringing the Israelis and Palestinians back to negotiations.
But Clinton gave herself a pat on the back for her initial efforts in a 13-page “100 Day Report” put out by State, noting her visits to 18 countries and meetings with 150 foreign leaders while logging more than 71,000 air miles since taking office.
In the report, Clinton pledged a high-profile focus on “tackling crises” around the world and a new emphasis on humility – not a trait normally associated with a former presidential candidate.
Clinton said she would give priority to “acknowledging our own errors where we have made them, which will serve as an example to others to do the same.”
The new and improved Hillary is being noted – even by Republicans. “It’s nice to see the relationship the two of you have built,” Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) told Clinton and Gates last week, “and I’m very pleased with what you’re doing.”

I’ll have Richard Sisk know that this is NOT the new and IMPROVED Hillary, but the old, just-fine-as-she-is Hillary we know and love whose rings she is running around everyone else are invisible to the unaware, or the blind, deaf, and dumb dirty bastards.
I was going to comment on that same mistake: New and improved indeed! She has always been the one who should have been POTUS, even when Bill was in office and ESPECIALLU now with teh TOTUS/POTUS. We should all be mourning what could have been.
I do every time I see that empty-headed, empty suit of a POTUS reading his scripted claptrap.
Not interested in Jay Leno in the least. Never have thought he was funny. I have found he is a George Bush and Go fuck yourself Cheney Ball Gargler. That’s it. That’s all he does well.
Leno cuts everyone– except Obama. I am a devoted watcher of the Tonight Show since the days of Parr and then Carson. I kept close tabs on Leno during the campaign with many posts about who was the target of his jokes– after Bush the Shrub it was the Clintons. He has told exactly one joke where Obama was the butt of the joke. Leno may be a sexist; but he is most certainly afraid of backlash from the Obama community.

I watch Leno on occasion. As soon as he makes his typical Clinton/Lewinsky/Hillary one note boring joke, I turn him off. I have not seen more than 10 minutes of leno for years. Pathetic. Purile little boys and their Jr. High humor. Not even close to being funny!
Jay who?
Seriously, nothing is going to change because misogyny appeals to the typical NBC audience. That and reality TV or news programs about missing blond cheerleaders.
This isn’t exactly the Master Piece Theater crowd we’re looking at.
well i no longer watch letterman either. i have found his views offensive in recent years. it was clear to me during the change over in govenors in california that leno leaned republican.
I stopped watching the tonite show when Johnny Carson retired. Thank God for cable, I never watch NBC, CNN or MSNBC.
Jay who?
BOY COTT the boys–the lame joking misogynist boys, many of whom are paid to degrade women as entertainment, or worse, news.
The decent boys of all ages who respect girls, sisters, mothers and all females we’ll keep.
Jay’s “band leader” Kevin Eubanks during the primary when Hillary was on the show actually rolled his eyes when she was speaking. The camera panned to him doing it. Look we’re a long way from Johnny Carson and the tonight show being an entertainment show.
AS for the news line that this is a new and improved Hillary . What a load! She’s improved only if she sublimates herself to Obama, is that it? She’s the only adult in the house in the entire administration. She has a job to do and it is being the face of our nation to the world. I for one am glad for it.My dad proudly served this country as a medic in WWII(bc he was a conscientous objector) and I have to think he’d be thrilled to see the dignity and class Hillary has displayed throughout . She respects others without compromising on core beliefs.I find her the most remarkable woman of our age.
It’s disgusting, but as evidenced throughout the campaign season, the most offensive, misogynistic comments were tolerated, even encouraged by NBC as well as other media sources. The pink T-shirts with the horrible remark about Sarah Palin were so far over the top…and yet, I didn’t hear anyone from Obama’s camp denouncing that kind of trash-talk. Feminists were also oddly silent when so much of this was going on. I just don’t get it.
I just hope that all of you who either plan to or are currently in the midst of a boycott against NBC and Leno remember that NBC and Leno are not alone in their sexism.
Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly are NO friends to women. If anyone thinks that either of those pigs would be paying deference to a President Hillary Clinton, you’re sadly mistaken. The chance to skewer Hillary (for another 4 to 8 years) was the only reason that Limbaugh was pushing for her to become the Democratic nominee, and O’Reilly would be right on Limbaugh’s heels in daily attacks on Hillary. Hell, Fox News would be challenging Hillary every bit as much as they now challenge Obama.
Incidentally, I hope that people will be as outraged when someone decides to attack Michelle Obama over a sexist issue such as her wardrobe. Oh. Wait a minute. Nobody was. Michelle has been constantly attacked for her wardrobe, beginning with the Inauguration and as recently as her $540 sneakers. Why is this any less sexist than comments about “not wanting to see Hillary age as President” and why is this any more acceptable than comments made against Sarah Palin’s accepting thousands of dollars’ worth of clothing from party coffers last year (which were almost entirely defended on this site)?
MO’s very expensive wardrobe is definitely fair game when the wardrobe in question is flaunted before a public which is hurting economically. MO knows full well that everything she wears is faux-to op material – she has done everything possible to encourage this situation (unlike Sarah Palin). Objecting to the president’s wife wearing shoes costing over $500 (and boots costing nearly $800)in public appearances is hardly sexist. Not in this dreadful economy, and especially not when this woman turns up in $540 “sneakers” at a food bank serving those who likely get their shoes from Goodwill – or a dumpster. Self absorption and callousness and greed aren’t gender-based qualities. MO needs to take a good look in the mirror, the one that reflects back character.
Please provide links and or actual comments made by Limbaugh and O’Reilly to back up your claims. I don’t listen to Limbaugh alot but I frequently watch O’Reilly. I have never heard him make crude, vulgar sexist comments about anyone. He has had several so called “feminists” on his show and skewered them for picking and choosing which women to defend. They said nothing when Sarah Palin was being attacked. And they are saying nothing in defense of Miss California and her belief that marriage is between a man and woman.
As for Michelle Obama and her wardrobe, please. It is not sexist to expect the “first lady” to dress appropriately. She doesn’t compare by a million miles to Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin. She needs to learn some class. And Sarah Palin nor Hillary Clinton wore expensive shoes to a homeless shelter. You are missing the ENTIRE point.
And you won’t hear me defend anyone who says they have never been proud of their country until their black husband cheated to win the presidency.
I’m with you on MO, however: Limbaugh, the king of “feminazi” usage (eg “You know, there’s a crisis of young man-boy education in the schools. And they did this on purpose, to eliminate male competition in the work force. This is part of feminazi grand plan.”) and you need a direct quote? Are you freaking kidding????
Okay, how about the reason we have feminists is “to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society.”
or “I love people enthusiastic about being their jobs and, and especially people like you who are enthusiastic about being eye candy.”
Also, “How many of you women in the audience, in the deepest, dark secrets of your dreams and desires, would be flattered to be hired as eye candy? I’m not talking — I know how many of you want to be sexually harassed — that’s not what I was asking. But, I mean, I — if, if, if somebody wants to hire you to look good for whoever is the first to walk in the door every day, why not, if that’s your asset?… “But I just happen to think there probably are a lot of women out there that wouldn’t be offended by it. Now, I’m not talkin’ about being chased around the desk. But probably some woman — women wouldn’t be bothered by that either.”
Or maybe, “She’s actually a very smart cat. She gets loved. She gets adoration. She gets petted. She gets fed. And she doesn’t have to do anything for it, which is why I say this cat’s taught me more about women, than anything my whole life.”
Or perhaps “Classic example of the castrati, the new castrati. Jack Carter is — has been castrated by the feminization of this culture since he grew up.”
“Let me leave you with a thought that most honestly summarizes my sentiments: I love the women’s movement…especially when I am walking behind it.”
Not enough? Then there’s women live longer than men “because their lives are easier. This is according to government statistics released yesterday.”
“Al Gore wants this channel to create a liberal version of the FOX News channel. We’ve already got CNN. We got CNN Headline News. We’ve got, for all intents and purposes, PMS-NBC.”
“Some of these babes, I’m telling you, like the sexual harassment crowd. They’re out there protesting what they actually wish would happen to them sometimes.”
“Now if Hillary does become Kerry’s VP, will she have to change her positions to be on the same page with Kerry or will Kerry have to change his? Don’t forget that testicle lock box, folks.”
And my personal favorite,”Women were doing quite well in this country before feminism came along.”
If you really want I’ll find you some nice direct quotes O’Reilly later. I wouldn’t think a sane person would need those either, though.
And don’t forget Limbaugh referring to Chelsea Clinton as the White House dog.
As far as O’Reilly making sexist remarks — not to mention engaging in sexist behavior that ended up costing him $$$$$$$$$$$$$ — I remind you of the Andrea Makris case:
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/1013043mackris1.html

Oh, and by the way, on the subject of Miss California: I don’t need to be lectured by someone who opposes gay marriage for religious reasons who then hypocritically parades around in a bikini on national television. I still haven’t been able to square that circle.
Her skills at introspection must be lacking because that demonstrates a real disconnect in thought processes.
BFB: Exactly. Two words: Mel Gibson.
Since we’re sharing, here’s what I sent to NBC:
You tell ‘em!! GO Indiedogg!
What I want to know is why people keep watching this network when it is well known they are sexist, racist pigs?? Cut their viewership, their advertising dollars are less and NO MONEY.
i don’t watch none of them..none.
Jay is one of the most talentless hacks in the history of television. His show has survived through silly simple routines like “Battle of the Jay-Walk All Stars and having people send him double entendre headlines and typos in local papers.
Not exactly tough things to do. He has been telling the same Bill/Hillary jokes for 16 years.
He will be telling the same George W. Bush can’t read jokes for the next 16.
The sad thing is, that people still watch this crap and that NBC will be putting him on for five nights a week at 10:00 PM this fall.
At least as of June 1st, we will have Conan at 11:30
Why do you think the nite show hosts honored the striking writer’s picket lines? With out some one to put words in their mouths they are lame. Reminds me of our new president.
Honestly,
Most comics were on writing staffs somewhere at one time or another. I can understand them honoring the line.
And yes, they would have very little to work with without their staffs. Few write more than a line or two a day and rely on the staff for everything else.
[...] As Rev. Amy reported yesterday, Thursday night, Jay Leno joined the fray yet again to prove that sexism and denigrating characterizations of women are alive and well – even though the election is long over. While dancing around the dial Thursday night, this was the joke I was unfortunate enough to hear Jay Leno tell in his monologue: “Kenyan women have vowed to withhold sex until their leaders stop bickering — they said they got the idea to withhold sex from a recent visit from Hillary Clinton.” [...]
