Bush Redux, Redux, Redux…

As in Obama is continuing to channel Bush. I could just as easily entitle this, “Obama is going to make my head explode - AGAIN.” So this morning, I’m watching the news, and they’re all getting ready for Obama to make YET ANOTHER &*#$#&& press conference about how he wants to cut a whopping $17 billion from his 479 GAZILLION dollar budget (okay, it’s really “only” $3.4 TRILLION dollars). But get this - 40% - that’s FORTY PERCENT - of his “proposal” was taken from BUSH’s last budget request. The reporter, Mike Emmanuel, said he wouldn’t call it plagiarism exactly, though I don’t know what else one calls it when someone lifts something whole cloth from someone else, but I would. Oh, and he said that the Democrats were adamantly opposed to it when Bush proposed it, so it will sure be interesting to see what they do this time…

Still, this is a mere drop in the budget bucket, all things considered. Maybe instead of us/US buying up banks and failed car companies, we could cut back the budget some, and I don’t mean cutting services to the People. Just a thought…

So, as a way to ease my aching head, I have a very funny video for you. It goes hand in hand with the beginning of our Live Chat discussion on May 6th of “Hacking Democracy” and voting machine fraud (which continues next Weds., May 13, at 9:00pm):

Ah, yes - our “shadowy overlords” - that sounds just about right!

And, for those of you who were kind enough to inquire, and ask to see him again, I have two photos of Jordan for you, taken on Weds. I just found out that instead of him being 22, he is actually 26 (he is in the Witness Protection Program, having been rescued from a crazy person threatening to shoot him). He is a 16.2 hh Thoroughbred retired Hunter/Jumper. Here he is in all his glory, with one of his stablemates in the background:

And for a bonus, there was this backyard visitor:

Doesn’t that just make your head feel better?

Oh, and I saw Leila’s new owner. She said she and her family are DELIGHTED with Leila, that she is a wonderful addition to the family. Even more, the puffball miniature puppy she had already rescued and Leila are thick as thieves, even sleeping in the same crate together. They have already become inseparable (and she is bigger than the photo below, but just to remind you!).

What’s going on with you?

thank you for the wonderful pictures of the animals. Your horse is gorgeous, the deer is sweet and that puppy is cute as a button.

The Hypocratic party will pass Obama’s budget and make excuses how it is different than Bush’s. Watch.

$17 billions is about the amount we add to the National Debt in 4.5 days.

Oh, Jordan is beautiful! And, so are the backyard visitors and Leila…sounds great for Leila, already got a buddy!

And yes, it’s definitely therapeutic for my head to have the pics and their stories.

Just got done responding to an email from a friend who says she “appreciates what Obama is trying to do…”

I said what is that, to be the biggest liar on the planet?!! [head explodes--again!]

Sheesh. Some people have so much trust in BO, you just want to slap some sense into ‘em, like Cher did to Nic Cage in Moonstruck.

SMACK. “SNAP OUT OF IT!”

Thanks RRRAmy. Your posts with pics have really been good for my heart as well as my head. :-)

Thanks! The vet saw him today to “float” his teeth, and declared him to be in excellent shape. Yay! She thought he looked good, too! :-)

Glad it helped, at least for a few minutes!

Rev. Amy,
Thanks for the factoid re: 40% of Obama’s proposal came from Bush. Amazing, though not really, since plagiarism is a welcomed guest in that White House..(Joe Biden!)
Thank you also for the hilarious video, and for the gorgeous pic of Jordan! Wow! We have pintos (cause we’re in Texas, of course)

In other news…(Although your animals are also precious and I love hearing about them.)Obama’s budget cuts are a joke, but I think we all knew that already.

DOW, Sierra Club, etc pushed Obama over Hillary. Then pushed Obama over McCain. They were relentless in pushing him on their members. Knowing full well how McCain felt about the environment, how Hillary has voted on environmental issues, found out today that Obama will not reverse Bush’s Arctic position for the Polar Bears or any other Arctic Wildlife.

From the LA Times:

Reporting from Washington — The Interior Department today let stand a Bush administration policy that bars the federal government from considering the effects of global warming on polar bears and other protected species, a move that upset environmentalists and cheered oil and gas companies.

The decision means the government cannot use the Endangered Species Act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, even though Interior Secretary Ken Salazar explicitly blamed those emissions for the habitat erosion that landed the polar bear on the list of threatened species last year.

The single greatest threat to the polar bear is the melting of Arctic Sea ice due to climate change,” Salazar said in a conference call announcing the decision. But, he added, the Endangered Species Act “is not the appropriate tool for us to deal with what is a global issue.”

Environmental groups vowed to sue.

Sue? Obama is who they wanted, as I said above they pushed him down their members throats over both Hillary and McCain. Even though he had no position on the environment. He never voted on anything concerning the environment. Both Hillary and McCain had strong positions. Maybe next time they’ll do a little research on exactly what/who it is they THEMSELVES are promoting.

I hear ya - they sure enough DID push them. I cannot tell you the number of emails from those organizations I deleted because they were THRILLED to have an ENVIRONMENTAL president in the WH!!! My constant refrain: what makes you think he is??? Sheesh…

Comment by Docelder | 2009-05-08 14:50:52

The truth is with this administration, it isn’t about the polar bears, pollution or the environment at all. If we wanted to stop pollution, a carbon tax isn’t the best way. If we want to tax and redistribute wealth to promote a shift in the social class structure of this nation… that is something else entirely. The environmental movement has been hijacked by these people and unfortunately they could care less about bears or the environment.

Comment by Diana | 2009-05-08 15:34:59

I totally 100% agree!

Amy, I haven’t renewed my membership to any environmental/animal rights groups for 2009. The only one I may renew is Amnesty. I still disagree with some of the things they do, but they do/do a lot of good. I belonged to many, except for PETA. I want nothing to do with them and now I’m starting to feel the same way about the others. When I get to the point I think they’re doing more harm than good, it’s time to sever ties. No magazine subscriptions. Nothing, I’m just on their email list. I will not donate to any this year either.

Comment by Diana | 2009-05-08 15:38:42

Duh! I just realized I lumped Amnesty in with Animal Rights Groups. Didn’t include Human Rights groups. Sorry about that, I hope everyone knows they’re a human rights group.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2009-05-08 18:10:38

Nor did I elaborate that I meant animal rights groups (WWF, ASPCA, and Humane Soc. to name three)…But yeah - I understood! :-D

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2009-05-08 15:39:23

I know just what you mean. I do still give to Amnesty monthly(along with some others), but the ones that go on and on abt how GREAT Obama is, how much he is going to do, then turn around saying, “oh, gosh - he isn’t doing what we thought he was going to do, please help!” get the ol’ Delete button…

And that’s not including the 83 billion additional he asked, over what Bush got, for fighting his 2 wars.

And now Democrats are asking for an additional 94 billion for their Wars.

I DO HAVE A HEADACHE.

Comment by I'm a Linda too | 2009-05-08 16:08:08

for THIS year alone.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2009-05-08 18:25:17

Oh, sheesh. Again - sure will be interesting to see if the same people who screamed and yelled abt those 40% of cutbacks with Bush do now, too, or if everything is magically, hopefully A-Okay now that Obama has put the big “O” on it…

Thanks for the pixs, Amy. Nothing like beautiful animal photos to serve as a tonic in crazed world.

And yes, I heard about the “astounding” cuts that Obama had made, line for line savings to the American public which = 1/2 of 1% of the ridiculous budget he expects the country to accept, and then choke on.

What a guy!

Yes, 17 billion is “real” money in DC. For the rest of us, the ordinary people, it’s an amount that’s hard to get our heads around. But Obama and his friends can flick off a few “billion” because they’re ready, set, go on $3.55 Trillion!

Btw, what’s next? A quadzillion.

I think this whole crew is counting on us all to simply put a pillow over our head and not listen. Or pretend we don’t understand.

As we’re flushed down the toilet.

But not here :0)!

Thanks for the article.
