John Edwards’ Staff Infection!

My jaw dropped when I read this column by George Stephanopoulos. You mean to tell me that the Edwards staffers who suspected the affair was real didn’t have the guts, not to mention decency, to insist that John Edwards withdraw from the Democratic primary?

… I’ve talked to a lot of former Edwards staffers about this. Up until December of 2007, most on Edwards’ staff didn’t believe rumors about the affair.

But by late December, early January of last year, several people in his inner circle began to think the rumors were true.

Several of them had gotten together and devised a "doomsday" strategy of sorts.

Basically, if it looked like Edwards was going to win the Democratic Party nomination, they were going to sabotage his campaign, several former Edwards’ staffers have told me.

They said they were Democrats first, and if it looked like Edwards was going to become the nominee, they were going to bring down the campaign.

Uh, George. If his staffers were “Democrats first,” they would not have spent the money and effort in Iowa and New Hampshire. They would have confronted him and threatened to resign en masse unless he quietly resigned the race. They could have done a number of things. But they did nothing but help perpetuate a lie and help sabotage Hillary’s candidacy. Think about it, George. Think.

So the Edwards staffers were equally as guilty, all was ok to milk the voters and hurt our countries best chances for a good strong leader, as long as THEY HAD A JOB AND MONEY COMING IN?

I already know that his campaign manager, David Bonior knew. That’s how they got Edwards to endorse Obama. They love dirty politicians, more to hold over their head and Team Obama does that to the maximum. And that terrible performance Bonior gave on camera after the admission of the affair.

AND…it was him or another person that tipped off the reporters of where Edwards was meeting her in August to further nip in the bud any chances of him being nominated for VP.

Comment by catherine | 2009-05-10 16:51:23

Don’t let anything about David Bonior surprise you. In fact I don’t believe that Bonior was really working for Edwards…I agree with you that he was an 0bama mole all along just as Solis Doyle was an 0bama mole in the Clinton campaign. I too think that Bonior was a potential leak to the media.

Read the following fascinating info on Bonior.

Yes, correct.

..good find. Another Socialist/Communist…who was a STRONG supporter of Obama. Strange considering he was supposed to be the opposition’s manager, huh?

Comment by I'm a Linda too | 2009-05-10 17:19:29

And of course, Axelrod was Edwards 2004 Manager.

Comment by FLDemFem | 2009-05-10 18:29:49

Sounds like the new Democratic Party motto should be “Vice is nice, but incest is best” given the intertwined relationships in the last few campaign seasons. I wonder if Axelrod thinks of himself as the new American “king maker”? He may do so, but he isn’t a patch on Richard Neville, the original Kingmaker. If you don’t know who that was, look it up. Hint: Warwick.

We have to add in the Repubs too, though: Zbigniew Brzezinski and Soros were McCain’s 2000 advisors and bankroller, and one of Brzezinski’s sons was McCain’s 2008 advisor; Zbigniew Brzezinski was BHO’s advisor, and though BHO eventually canned him, he kept on Zbig’s other son as an advisor, and of course Soros also bankrolled BHO.
Also both McCain and BHO had Pritzkers supporting them.
And we have a Bill Clinton/ Daley relationship along with a BHO/Daley relationship.
I think both parties need to go.

Report: Edwards Staff Planned to ‘Blow Up’ Campaign Over Affair
“They were Democrats first, and if it looked like Edwards was going to become the nominee, they were going to bring down the campaign

— they were going to blow it up,” Stephanopoulos said.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/11/report-edwards-staff-planned-blow-campaign-affair/

Ah, but first they were such LOYAL DEMOCRATS to Donna Brazile, Pelosi, Dean, Axelrod and OBAMA, that they worked on BLOWING UP Hillary R. Clinton the best candidate that just happened to be a woman.

Yup, the lengths these ‘loyal’ Democrats went to, to protect the PATRIARCHY is shocking, because either way they were set on making sure the WOMAN candidate was knee capped.

Guess the X-files are right. The truth is out there.

Not here. :)

George is playing possum here. Give me a break. How naive can he be? Answer: he is not. He never misses an opportunity to diss the Clintons, on whose backs he rose to fame and fortune. He dissed her throughout the primary and had nice things to say about everyone but her. I don’t buy his golly gosh attitude for a second.

You are right. And don’t the infamous May 31st meeting seems like a million years ago? As a matter of fact with Zero on the news daily, January seems like a million years ago.

Seems like the Edwards’ supporters were all about draining off votes from Hillary and when that failed, Plan B came into play: Just go ahead and steal the primary. The corrupt Democrats would do anything with anyone to get back in the WH.

Just as they love to misrepresent the majority of the public who want boundaries and laws applied to ILlegal immigration by calling us anti-immigrant, they’ve continued to misrepresented Limbaugh’s quote that if Obama’s plan was for a Socialized America, he wanted his plan to fail. They constantly claim he wants the country to fail. Is socialism the only way they can see America? Wanda Sykes just lost another fan by saying Limbaugh is a traitor (for his opinion) and she wants his kidneys to fail. Calling him the 20th Hijacker, too stoned on Oxycoton to make the flight. Extremely ugly people. I’m not a particular fan of Rush but I like these people even less.

Comment by Woman Voter | 2009-05-11 09:01:44

I wonder if these ‘loyal’ Democrats were like Soliz in the Hillary campaign, who had ties to Axelrod. Could this be the WATERGATE of campaigns that will only come to light many years from now.

Comment by Woman Voter | 2009-05-11 10:00:34

May 31st, 2008, the Democrats disenfranchised voters and threw out the most of sacred value to any democracy, ‘One Person One Vote’. They even went so far as to declare some voters, equaling half a vote!

At the convention they moved to block Hillary from an EARNED Roll Call vote for the nomination, and blocked a Roll Call Vote for VP and threw out the other votes by not allocating them as the voters intended. They skipped states where the state was mandated to cast the votes as the voters intended and so the country never knew, nor realized what happened.

I can’t forget either.

Not an Edwards fan, but be fair; you are holding the Edwards staff to a far higher standard than you are holding Soertoro/Obama’s staff to because we all know that they knew and did nothing. Hiding an affair is not even in the same class as hiding the knowledge that he wasn’t qualified to be president. None of these people would be staff if Edwards and Soertoro/Obama weren’t absolutely sure that they would never, ever tattle.

Edwards supporters broke 60/40 for Obama. As Mark Penn did not even recognize the threat of Obama until after Iowa and never came up with a credible plan for blunting it, the defeat in Iowa would have been worse and BHO may have finished off HRC in New Hampshire. Without Edwards in the race all the anyone but Hillary voters would have flocked to BHO. Hillary would still have been severely beaten in February because Penn had no post Super Tuesday strategy.

Edwards was not the reason for HRC’s loss, it was her insistence on sticking with Penn after Iowa that cost her dear.

Comment by Lyn | 2009-05-10 22:23:19

Hillary got the MOST VOTES, the DNC stole the nomination to give it to Obama.
What kind of plan would you do when they cheated thruout the primaries and caucuses? It IS a Shame they never thought a Dem would bus in voters from other states as well as all the other fraud and the DNC didn’t care how many complaints about the fraud were filled. Look at Texas, what ever happened to all the reports filed about the cheating there?
As long as the DNC allowed the fraud and cheating and the MSM wouldn’t report on it because THEY wanted Obama, it is amazing how well Hillary did IN SPITE of the DNC.

Comment by fif | 2009-05-10 23:53:59

Lyn, don’t go confusing anyone with facts–BO defenders hate that. Let’s not forget the voter manipulation and suppression in FL & MI, and the ultimate delegate theft to push BO over the top. Or the blatant misinformation about superdelegates pushed by Pelosi and other DNC leaders, or that BO spent 3x the amount of money buying off superdelegates. And then of course, the media bias and relentless promotion and shielding of BO and distortion of all issues related to any opponents. What else…hmmm…ah yes, the lies about where his money really came from–many of the corporate recipients of today’s bail outs. Amazing to see it all in print, and realize NONE of it was reported and exposed.

Comment by ConfusedAmerican | 2009-05-10 19:55:48

The only problem I saw with the affair was that campaign money was being siponed off to Edward’s mistress in big chunks.

Comment by fif | 2009-05-10 23:59:43

How about the fact that he was running for president, accepting money from hard-working people who invested in his vision, all the time knowing that if/when it was exposed, he would lose credibility? It’s a form of fraud–campaigning for a position knowing that he would be severely damaged/weakened when it came out. And it always does. I like Elizabeth, but she was really complicit in the lie, because she knew from the start.

Comment by pcmoore28 | 2009-05-10 20:15:08

Edwards screwed up and we can all talk about how ripped off we feel but his wife and family are the ones that bear the biggest pain from his public betrayal. Elizabeth has chosen to forgive him and as hard as it is to understand, I accept her decision.

I would not be surprised one bit if the Obama team did not threaten Edwards with exposing the affair if he did not endorse The One. Politics is a dog eat dog world…how sad for our country that nothing will change.

Comment by standard | 2009-05-10 22:20:08

I wonder who tipped off the Enquirer. The “Love child” issue had been whispered around Daily Orange Urinal in the early part of the primary, but it seemed to be like an inside joke concocted by the right, and not taken seriously.

Edwards is as phony as his hair. His mistress outsmarted him. AHH the power of a woman! I’m sure she has her own agenda, to be well provided for life by a wealthy powerful politician, that’s why she “missed ” her pills. LOL.
I feel sad for Elizabeth whose life is numbered. She wants to enjoy her remaining days with her family.I understand her decision tostand by her “mean”
husband. What’s hurtful is the day when this guy marries the mistress when she is gone.Elizabeth should have legal papers to protect her children from the homebreaker.
John Edwards should have sleepless nights for deceiving the country. The more I despise him.

Comment by postmaster | 2009-05-11 10:24:43

John Edwards opened his zipper and his brains fell out….he knew what he was doing yet continued to stay in the race, take money from the people and stand up and spout family values. I have no faith in any politician. It’s all about them…Obama with the help of Soros, Acorn, and the rest of the bunch bulldozed Hillary in short order. MSNBC, CNN, I have boycotted all who were involved in the sordid mess. I was not a Hillary supporter but she didn’t deserve what her own party and the MSM did to her. As for Edwards, the pos should be permanently banned from politics and issue a refund to his supporters.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2009-05-11 10:57:42

I understand several of Edwards’ staff people were convinced in Dec. 2007 that the “rumors” were true and came up with the doomsday solution in the event that he took the nomination.

But I also heard that the National Enquirer [who ultimately broke the story] had been tracking this since the summer/fall of ‘07. None of the major news outlets were willing to touch it.

A lot people involved in the coverup. But John Edwards carries the major-duty blame. What a jerk!

Comment by Cahil | 2009-05-11 12:02:43

You have to remember that Georgie Poopsalotonus was a Hillary hater so I’m sure he wouldn’t question the honesty of the Edward’s staffers.

Nor would he bother to do any objective journalism in putting this story together.

Comment by Ponz Delarion | 2009-05-11 16:30:57

Yeah, if only that landslide of support for Hillary from disaffected Edwards supporters had come earlier . . . wait, they

never did

come to support her! It’s some kind of conspiracy of the facts!

Comment by trixta | 2009-05-12 23:33:58

Ponz, HRC still won the popular vote, and the DNC still had to steal 4 MI delegates from her so that they could drag Obama’s ass over the finish line. Oh yeah, they sabotaged the Roll Call vote at the Convention too.
