Nancy Pelosi, you’re worse than a 15-year-old getting grilled by angry parental units who caught their kid trying to sneak into the house in the middle of the night. You try in vain to compose creative lies, each one more laughable than the last, while battling the intoxicating effect of a gallon of Thunderbird white wine. At least have the decency to puke on yourself.
First, you said you that the intelligence sources didn’t state clearly that they were actually waterboarding, only that they were mentioning the methods theoretically. Over the weekend, you claimed that your aide who attended the meeting didn’t give you the full story. And now you’re saying, according to Politico, that you held back on criticism out of deference for “appropriate legislative channels” — whatever in the hell that means:

According to the Pelosi confidant, Sheehy told Pelosi about the briefing — and later informed Pelosi, the newly elected minority leader, that Harman was drafting a protest letter. Pelosi told Sheehy to tell Harman that she agreed with the letter, the Pelosi insider said. But she did not ask to be listed as a signatory on the letter, the source said, and there is no reference to her in it. …
In other words, you had a great opportunity to TAKE A STAND against torture, but — for you — going along to get along always takes precedence over taking a moral stand.

That seems to be the biggtest problem. He’s more interested in being a star than the president. A huge dinner party every week, with this band or that band and as many movie stars as he can invite. Then who is footing the bill for it? Why we are. What other president has moved their mother in law in with them? She didn’t have a home, or is it they couldn’t be seen as slumming to go and visit her? She didn’t live with them before. I would have told my kids this is your journey. If Jane Harmon (like Rockerfeller were writing “notes to self” to do the classified version of a CYA, and Nancy caught wind of it, she would view it as a threat. Jane Harmon was bounced from being chair of House Intel, in part because Pelosi wanted Reyes (an honorable person) who knew nothing at the level that Harmon did….no one is clean here, but it is a small consolation, that Harmon even took the time to raise the issue internally. Sadly look where it got her.
Pelosi is a coward and does not understand “co=equal” branches of government, as things are “off the table” with her all the time.

I believe Cindy Sheehan, the anti-Iraq War protester ran against Pelosi in Pelosi’s congressional district during the democratic primaries in 2008. Sheehan had very little money or media coverage. Perhaps Sheehan could be persuaded to challenge Pelosi again? Sheehan is a woman of conviction and has weathered much negative press because of her anti-war protests. She lost a son in Iraq. Well, Pelosi is in a bit of trouble over all of this - but I think the real story here is how Obama has thrown her under the bus . . . big time. It was the Obama admin that released the CIA memo detailing the exact nature of the briefing she received.
When the brand new Obama admin came in they probably weren’t ready to prepare and submit their own stimulus, but Pelosi was ready and the House submitted it. Now, with his administration feeling more confident, Nancy is expendable so under the bus she goes.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that was part of Obama’s plan when he initially released those CIA memos and stirred it all up. There was never going to be any prosecutions or even a truth commission. This wasn’t about some sense of morality - it was a political power play pure and simple. Further demonize the Bush admin and severely damage Pelosi at the same time.

I remember how happy I was when Dems finally got control of the House in 2006. I thought that FINALLY Bush would get called on so many things. I was excited that Pelosi would be Speaker, thinking foolishly that since she was a woman we might get some action.

How did I go from a rabid, sanctimonious liberal whom you steadfastly avoided at family gatherings to a fan of Limbaugh, Hannity, and Savage? Recovery encourages us to share our story, so here’s mine:
In February of 2008, I saw a new client, a bright and sensitive young woman who came in looking like she just escaped a war zone. In some ways she had; she had innocently shared with others at her job that she voted for Hillary rather than Obama. Immediately she was being targeted for abuse that put her in fear for not only her job, but her life.
We both suddenly became aware that something had grown really dark in the Democratic Party. I started hearing about many other incidents where loyal Democrats were being physically and emotionally threatened for supporting Hillary. A woman in Berkeley had her front window broken because it displayed a poster of Hillary. Randi Rhodes, an Air America talk show leftist, called Hillary a f______ witch. (Rhodes was recently promoted to a national talk radio show, illustrating another disturbing trend: the deafening silence about what Rush Limbaugh has dubbed the new “thug-ocracy.)
An acquaintance had her car broken into, and the only item stolen was a NoObama bumper sticker. A South Park episode featured an episode where a nuclear weapon was being aimed at Hillary’s genitals. My local greeting card store sold very flattering cards about Obama, insulting ones about Hillary, and a Hillary “nutcracker.” When I complained, the young male manager literally laughed in my face.
Things went from bad to worse when Sarah Palin entered the scene. When Geraldine Ferraro ran for Vice President, there was no debasement of her character, no sexual threats. But with Palin, a full scale “wilding” ensued that chillingly reminded me of the random sexual attacks on women by gangs of men in New York. She was called every vile name in the book by both male and female liberals.
Actress Sarah Bernhardt hoped a gang of black males would rape her. When Palin’s church was torched with children inside, the press was missing in action (somehow I imagine the press would have been all over this if Obama’s church were torched). Not only was the misogyny disgusting, but the classism was abhorrent. The Democrats, by ridiculing Palin’s voice and her education, were acting like arrogant snobs. The party had changed, I had changed, and the differences looked irreconcilable.
The final straw for me was when a close friend flew into a rage at me when she learned I wasn’t supporting Obama. The political became personal when she began impugning my character. Worse yet, she tried to intimidate me into changing my mind by threatening to dump me.
Suddenly a light went on. The peace and love and flower power of the old left was dead and gone (if it even existed to begin with except in my imagination). The Democrats had morphed into a power hungry Thought Police, and I was done with them. My new motto in life: don’t PC on me.

Is anyone else distracted by Pelosi’s hairline?
I don’t care about what she wears or how ugly she looks but that hairline is sticking out form under her wig and it makes me just stare at it. Notice the pics upstream. Her hairline is different. Notice when she talks live on TV. That hairline showing makes me not hear what she’s saying. Oh and she’s NOT ITALIAN.

There were people at those rallies from all walks of life and from all races. If anybody wants to marginalize a group of citizens who just want to be heard… have at it, It’s still a free country. But don’t insult everyone’s intelligence by calling everybody who went to a rally a racist. Because, if everybody is a racist then racism no longer exists.
it is interesting to watch cspan. i was just now watching a repub rep talk about the chryster bankrupcy and the lies the suits and obama administration indulged in. they double talked and conned the unions into voting for the shutting down of their streets.
