The gravity of international law excludes torture from acceptable norms, and no amount of fear or righteous indignation can overcome that.

a) were setting up legal precedents to give our folks “preemptive immunity”…that says there’s NO SHERRIFF in town. These guys set up a policy of torture. Period.
