Contessa Brewer, Pathetic!
By pm317 on June 12, 2009 at 8:31 AM in Current Affairs
If you can’t keep up or defend your network’s hypocrisy and propaganda, if you feel guilty for what they make you do, quit, Contessa, quit. Where is your outrage?
Watch this video and see Contessa Brewer lose it. What has become of journalism in America?
I don’t know who this Ziegler guy is. Looks like a right-wing radio talkshow host. I don’t care. Contessa Brewer calls herself a journalist and her network, MSNBC, a news network(OK, OK, don’t laugh!) But Ziegler took on her network and her for the pathetic piece of TV broadcasting that they are. She didn’t like it at all.
Apparently someone called Contessa Brewer a slut too. So she is not outraged about David Letterman calling Palin a slut. She thinks Palin should have laughed it off, it is comedy after all. When Ziegler calls her out on that and other things that her network does of which we are all too familiar, her defenses crumble and she starts blabbering about what a commonsense thinker she is(!), how insulting Ziegler has been and ends the interview with an angry instruction to her crew, “cut the mic off, please.”
Misplaced anger? Pathetic.
Or is this being post-feminist that we stop asking questions, stop getting enraged, but simply go on with the business ignoring the sexism that other women experience and even siding with the perpetrators sometimes?
Or in Contessa’s case, she will sulk and whine — “this right wing nutcase insulted me!” in addition to siding with the perpetrators. Never mind that he asked her a legitimate question.

Assuming that Ziegler is “right wing” because he supports a Republican makes as much sense as assuming someone named “Contessa” has class and breeding.
OMG you read my mind…
“Contessa” - an extreme WT name.
WT just as uncool as BT.
Speaking of uncool,
Just read this article by Lisa Morales in the Washington Post
Forget Conan’s Numbers. We’re Too Busy Keeping Score in the Palin-Letterman Match.
Here is a good example of a woman (maybe shes a slut-**snicker**) who seems to be giving Letterman a pass—not once did she (if I read it correctly) neither castigate nor admonish Letterman. Since she’s and entertainment writer, What did she find entertaining about Letterman’s comments? She likes to refer to him as Dave—wonder if they know one another personally.
Think I’ll drop the Post a note.
When I want a bit of distraction, I watch Contessa cut short every guest who disagrees with her. She gets all flustered and stutters or mumbles a few words, then, changes topic with a brief “Thank you Senator, we are short of time”….she rarely listens to any answer and keep ploughing through with her prepared lines…. what a pathetic show !
“Contessa” is a very popular vampire name according to google ….
Unless you’re very sharp and very savvy, Ziegler is going to eat you for lunch. Throwing pitiful Contessa up against Ziegler was like throwing a lamb into the lion’s cage. It was almost painful to watch. But fun.
Not that I would ever want to watch a lamb thrown into a lion’s cage . . .
Once it really starts to fall apart for BHO, (and it will), I`ll tune in to MSNBC to watch the mass suicides take place.
Thank goodness I have been stockpiling popcorn. The day will come…the day will come…
Since hyperinflation, near total collapse of dollar value and banking is coming as well…I am reading by summer’s end things will get very bad (and shall I argue or prepare?)
I recommend a milk goat, some chickens, a greenhouse, seeds, cistern, water filtration, couple of huge propane tanks and a way to keep all that for your family.
Actually, a family member of mine has bought a goat to prepare for hard times.
I keep telling my hubby that we need to prepare…he just dismisses it.
We live in the country so could have chickens, goats, etc. He didn’t want to plant a garden this year either.
Dummy!
soon i hope..
Contessa Brewer tried covering up Letterman’s jokes about Governor Palin’s 14 year old. MSNBC scam is to only focus on the “slutty” comment about the adult–not the statutory rape jokes Letterman made about the kid. MSNBC makes me sick–truly.
Even that drives me crazy. Palin does not ever dress provocatively in her profession, and even if she wore an evening gown with cleavage for an event or a swimsuit as a contestant, this label of “slutty” is just repugnant.
Of course the sexual double standard of stud v. slut exist still but this is being used again as just wholesale damage to a good woman.
If she wore a beekeeper suit burqa they’d still call her a slut, so is the no-win scenario in other countries where woman are judged and abused mercilessly based on clothes.
PUMA sent me this suggested draft of a letter to send to CBS regarding Letterman, as well as the e-mail addresses. I did send it out although I added a few comments of my own.

Letterman belongs to the same group of idiots who were talking about making porno movies with Sara Palin look alikes.
So Dave incessantly attacked Hillary for wearing pant suits. He attacks Palin for wearing skirts. What would make Dave happy, if women wore burkhas & were daily beaten with sticks?
“CUT THE MIKE PLEASE”
Boy he really got under her (very thin) skin.
Her first mistake was attempting to defend the remarks of that crum/creep/coward Letterman. She brought Ziegler on to continue to harm Palin, and instead she was OWNED>
Women like Contessa Brewer, who find a dirty old man like Letterman calling Governor Palin, or any woman, slutty okay with them are beyond worrying about.
That she also doesn’t seem to have a problem with a dirty old man like Letterman making jokes about statutory rape also tells us pretty much all we need to know about her.
As for Letterman, what do have to look forward to next from this dirty old man? Flashing children in a school yard? Such a joker this guy.
Kenosha, As you may see below I used the word slut. It was one of those “see how you like it” moments. Of course you are right that no female should be referred to in this way. But it is OK if I call her a BITCH for the way she avoided speeaking to his comment of her daughter.
As a woman, I hate the “c” word, but in this bitch’s case, it is most appropriate.
It’s possible these Obama Democrats are building sympathy for Sarah Palin and making her a hero of the traditional American people. Only leftist college kids and far left hedonists (Hollywood, etc.) could find such comments okay. They certainly are not funny. The stuff about the daughter is totally beyond the pale. I’m ready to separate the country into two camps: one for decent people and one for foul-mouthed, character-assassinating scum, be they Republican (Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter come to mind) or Democrat.
Just as I do not group all Republicans into a “right wing” group, I am careful not to classify all those in Hollywood as “left wing hedonists” — please be assured there are people out there who don’t like what’s happening here any more than you do.
ANi: I did not say everyone in Hollywood, I was referring to the Obama-crazed celebrities who have helped promote this kind of commentary.
Ani — I hope that is true, but why aren’t they as vocal about it? It does no good to privately say you’re for something if you (as a celebrity), have an opportunity to make a public statement, but decline to speak out for fear of condemnation by the in-your-face Dems in Hollywood. Where are these folks?
Contessa was just following the talking points on how to spin the Letterman debacle against Palin…MSNBC is obsessed with Palin…they cannot stop talking about her…Palin has replaced Hillary as the woman to demonize, ridicule and destroy…MSNBC has big problems with any woman of stature that threatens their neat little cheerleading party…all together now…drumbeat…1,2,3…attack that woman…every segment all day long and into the night…
…the problem for Contessa is that she was exposed to this sexism with Imus when she started as a reader at MSNBC and could not stand it…
…Contessa lost all credibility on this one…what is she going to do now that the floodgates are open and should people start attacking the Obama girls?
Is one innocent little girl more important than another young girl? who’s next, Piper? Do these people not understand that all this national exposure and exploitation by the media can be embarrassing and traumatic for young girls?
People need to be turning the question around every time Palin’s name comes up and ask ‘How would you react if this were the Obama girls?” maybe then these clueless ‘journalists’ would get it…
sad to say this is what our so called feminist lefties have become…they will take the side of the offender if it means making political points…even if a girl or woman is the victim…
credit to NOW for at least going on the record…finally!
Funny, during the primary my wife made a comment about one of the Obama girls wearing a spaghetti strap dress and thought it was poor taste in dressing a child that way and all her Obama-liberal friends went absolutely ape-shit over it, how it was so beyond the pale to make a comment like that about Obama’s kid.
I’m sure they all had a snarky laugh over Palin’s daughter being raped by A-Rod.
Hypocrits!
I remember that dress and made a similar statement to my husband. It was so loose on top I was worried about her accidentally showing too much and being embarrassed.
Even worse. The cameraman seemed to hover a little too high and close for my comfort. She needed a cardigan or something. And her mother should have realized the dress needed the extra help from the way it moved.
It is sad that the Obama-liberals couldn’t understand your wife was trying to protect the girl’s honor.
It’s as if CBS and MSNBC are defining which egregious sexist line crossings are permissible. Palin is fair game. They are trying to damage her so severely, even if it takes them down in the process.
If Letterman had said Natasha Muhseen Obama is a future little slut because Michelle was promiscuous, or Malia was caught doing it with a 3rd baseman during a commercial break, his head would not only roll he would have been stalked and murdered.
I proposed those as “ifs” just to get them out there for relative comparison, to expose the insanity of it all.
Yeah, a 62-year-old guy entertaining rape/sex fantasies with 14/18 year old girls is quite telling? I think Social Services and law enforcement should look into his home environment and confiscate his computers. Perhaps they’ll find that he frequents some “interesting” websites.
pm317, It’s too early in the AM for me but possible pathetic is an understatement. I don’t believe she could take/handle the vitriol thrown at Palin–she lost her cool and took an insult aimed at the network as directed at her and while I’m at it, I think she looks like a slut to my eyes.
I have seen his documentary “How Obama Got Elected” and I recommend people see it. It talks about the sexism in the campaign, and he includes Hillary Clinton’s treatment as well. He does focus a little too much on Sarah Palin, but it is an accurate portrayal of the ridiculous media lovefest of Barack Obama. Plus, you should watch the interviews with Obama voters at the end and how ill informed they were! Go to howobamagotelected.com and see some clips.
comment vanished! Damn spam filter
boy- they sure can dish it out but, are wusses when it comes to dishin it in. wat a bunch of pansy ass losers.
This is so funny–to see people on MSNBC starting to lose their cool because they are learning that their employer has no credibility.
The point I wish Ziegler could have made, if the contessa (In her mind at least) had not tried to control the interview so much, is that Letterman’s “comedy” is NOT comedy. The line between entertaiment and political news reporting has vanished. The progressives use people like Letterman to make their underhanded puches and then back away and claim that it’s ONLY comedy.
I cut the mic on her station a long time ago. I hope more people do.
But thank you, pm317, for having the intestinal fortitude to watch this stuff and report on it for those of us with weaker constitutions.
Who say’s “I kid the president”?
Pm317, thanks for pointing it out.
What I can not fathom is that many of these people, left to there own devices, are decent humans…what is it that tends to warp their reality so?
John Zeigler is a conservative radio host who put out a documentary after the election detailing the atrocious media coverage of last year’s election.
Contessa Brewer isn’t the first “journalist” that he’s skewered on the air.
http://www.howobamagotelected.com/
She isn’t a journalist. She is an actress who plays a news reader on tv. A real journalist would not try a defend the story but report the story and allow both sides to play it out. They are supposed to be neutral and her political view points come blatantly come across. The contessa is a joke.
Yeah, “contessa” sounds like one of those phony stripper or porno star names.
Compare her interview with the manner that Greta conducts interviews. Fox scored big time by signing Greta, while MSNBC has apparently dragged a polluted river for their pathetic personel.
would you like to be angry? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJqM2tFOxLQ
They seem to either want:
1. A crawl back from Palin on her reaction — thereby absolving themselves of any responsibility on their part for such a ridiculous gaffe or
2. A bigger gaffe from Palin and her supporters.
I would think that they would just stfu and hope that it disappears from the news cycles as quickly as possible and in the meantime pull DL’s “live” shows and show reruns from when he was young and more relevant than he is now.
I can totally get why a woman-hating man might say something as stupid and insensitive as DL, but this obnoxious woman? Silence from Emily’s List? Silence from “journalists” like Maria Shriver that enough is enough already? Seriously? I have never been more ashamed of having held these women in high regard than I am right now. Never.
I concur, beebop.
The silence is deafening…..
The fact that I ever held any of them in high esteem grates on me daily.
and I really HATE TO SAY this but how come
HILLARY hasn’t said anything?
grr
lady: I really don’t think this is an appropriate issue for criticism of Hillary. She’s endured more of this crap than any other pubic woman. She has spoken out about it. To no avail. She’s fighting for her political life–hoping to get in the WH and create a better future for all of us.
Is that why people like you constantly criticize her? You’re as afraid of Hillary as the left is of Palin? Seriously, if Hil said one word, you would hear the most disgusting barrage of sexist, pornographic poison in history. I think Hillary is probably tired of exposing her daughter to these same kind of comments, she knows she has no power over the misogyny, so she’s keeping a low profile.
you have no clue about me apparently
I’ve NEVER knocked hillary and I voted for her, but she gets no free pass from me
YOU my dear need to rein in your lemming self before throwing generalizations my way
I voted for Hillary in the primary and did a revenge vote for McCain because of the sexism thrown at Clinton during the primaries, but I am disappointed in Hillary and other liberal feminists lack of courage to stand up and speak out about the abuse Palin has endured at the hands of the media and Obama. It is as if the country has gone back to the 1950’s Kennedy/Sinatra ringy-ding ding ideas of broads and tramps, chicky baby, and all the other sexist/cool discriptors of a time long gone. The worst part is that the liberal feminists are all for this after years of struggle to get away from it. I could forgive them if they were naive teenagers, but they know what the 1950’s were like. Hillary is just not enough of a fighter and that is why she will never be POTUS. Someday I believe we will have a female POTUS, but probably not for another generation and definately not a Democrat.
barb I agree with you
Why is it up to Hillary! WHy hasn’t our very own “this-is-what-a-feminist-looks-like” President said anything? And how about Michelle? Isn’t she supposed to be the paragon of feminism these days?
The Omama’s and their political campaign created this misogynistic environment and exploited it to their advantage–and it is still to their advantage to have their Bot minions launch such attacks against Palin.
she knows she has no power over the misogyny, so she’s keeping a low profile..
On this tek, I believe you to be very wrong.
While SOS Clinton wisely, may be unwilling to get out in front of BO and is smartly keeping a low profile accordingly, Hillary Clinton does indeed have “power over the misogyny”.
All women do. Not all women choose to exersise it collectively however… How I wish they would.
not the job of S.O.S,
Thank you, foxyl!
Beebop: What you said.
Amen. CRICKETS from progressive women. Shame on them–every one of them. I’m disgusted by their silence. Enough is enough!
Picking on an 18-year-old girl is not funny.
Calling a female governor “SLUTTY” is not funny.
And, by the way, Don Imus wasn’t funny either, and I was disgusted by his behavior toward Contessa Brewer–and of course, as everyone knows, Imus showed his true colors when he called the female Rutgers Basketball team “NAPPY HEADED HOS.”
THAT is what happens when no one complains from the beginning about these disgusting men and their “HUMOR.”
I agree with you — I was shocked that NOW finally came out to say something. Gosh, where was their outrage, or NARAL’s last year, when Hillary was being skewered with all manner of filth daily?
What a poor excuse for journalism!
Pathetic is perhaps too kind a word for her. I, too, am amazed that she can try to minimize the harm Letterman did and then immediately get angry when she isn’t treated with kid gloves. Brewer obviously has no concept of boundaries on what is or isn’t appropriate. But then I think that’s a prerequisite for employment at NBC.
I wonder who called her “bad names?” She certainly thought that it was okay based on her own ability to “stand up” to it. Did it happen to her when she was 14 or 18? The Palins are defending their teenage daughters. I would think significantly less of them both if they did not make a stink. Significantly less.
I believe it was Imus.
It was Don Imus.
http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/don_imus_berates_contessa_brewer/
“DON Imus didn’t like being called “a cantankerous old fool” by MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer on PAGE SIX. Brewer, a former news reader on Imus’ show, also said the I-man doesn’t know how to relate to “beautiful women.” “With that fat ass she’s got, she wouldn’t be one of ‘em,” Imus said on the air Friday. “That skank has to spend three hours with makeup in the morning … Who’s she kidding? . . . Plus, she’s dumber than dirt … Oh, my God, what a pig. But I was willing to cut her some slack and not say anything, you know, until - in fact, I didn’t say anything . . . That’s why they have those big double-doors there at MSNBC, you know, so they can get her fat ass in makeup.””
Seems like it was a tis for tat from co-workers and she appears to have spoken first. Let me understand how this is any way similar to what happened on DL when all the Palin family did was accept an invitation to a baseball game.
Seems Ms. Brewer is kind of full of herself. Imus was her boss. Fruit falling from the tree …. now it makes more sense.
“Let me understand how this is any way similar to what happened on DL when all the Palin family did was accept an invitation to a baseball game.”
I just put up what Imus said and the context in which he said it; I have not said anything in support of Brewer or against Palin, so chill out.
Boobie … not coming at you … punching the air … if you will … kisses … ‘bop
sorry, overreacted,
yeah beebop, i don’t see this “journalist” being called a slut or attacking her children if she has them. sure imus was over the top and not appropriate. i don’t agree with his comments at all and often haven’t. but for the woman to have been talked about that way should have given her sympathy for palin which she clearly doesn’t have.
People who swallow the ire automatically aroused at racism or sexism, in order to be part of the team, when eventually forced to confront racism or sexism, tend to overreact, recalling these past instances of stifled outrage. That’s what happened when Senator Kennedy supported BO and not HRC. That is, the women who had excused his escapades at Chappaquiddick and other questionable conduct, for all these years, now were not only upset at him for failing to support her but also at themselves for having supported him, long after they knew better.
good point.
Cut the mike!! hahahahahahaha! How does it FEEEEEL Contessa???? Can dish it out but you can’t take it! What an idiot she is!
I stopped watching msnbc right after Hillary dropped out of the race.No Quarter shouldnt be giving them all this publicity.
Seriously, MSNBC is waaaay worse than Fox News at the peak of Dubya’s reign. Interesting that this woman is insulted because the man called out her network, yet she believes Palin should not be insulted over Letterman calling her a slut.
I never watch Letterman anyway, but add him to the list. Apparently all sense of decency is abandoned by the media and political establishment of this country. You have to wonder why the Obama people have such an acute need to hear Palin deNIGrated repeatedly.
I still say, they are scared s***less of this woman.

Good idea. Complain to the FCC. Thanks for the rec.
Great suggestion — I lodged a complaint with them yesterday.
To get their attention, put “CBS = Child Brothel Services” in the title of your letter or email. (Read this on a pumapac site and it sure fits!) Keep writing to CBS and to the advertisers. Don’t let this just become old news that people forget about. We can make a difference.
Ziegler is a right-winger. But, his new documentary, MEDIA MALPRACTICE is right on the money, in my opinion.
Ziegler is known for his combative attitude; Brewer knew that when she had him on for an interview, because John Ziegler is a well-known journalist.
This was all a staged event in order to gin up controversy. Contessa Brewer is not one of the better journalists around. She used to work for Don Imus on his show early on at MSNBC, and Imus was brutal toward her, calling her dumb, etc. So, perhaps that’s what she was referring to.
Uh…NOT THE SAME, Contessa. Who’s called you “slutty” on television, Ms. Brewer? Who’s insinuated your daughter was so easy she’d get knocked up in the seventh inning stretch by Alex Rodriguez, or likened her to a prostitute hired by Elliot Spitzer?
Women should just laugh this off?!?
Well, I don’t think it’s the LEAST BIT FUNNY, and in fact, it all makes my BLOOD BOIL.
I sent CBS a letter. I hope every woman will do the same.
Michelle Malkin nailed it in her own letter:
DEAR DAVID LETTERMAN
June 12, 2009
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2009/06/12/dear_david_letterman_96959.html
I find it absolutely amazing that no one at MSNBC has had a teenage daughter come home from school, upset about sexist remarks made to them.
David Letterman thinks it’s ok to sexually assault 18 year old women. Sounds like this Perv needs to retire. I wonder when his apology will come, or is he a COWARD.
Maybe he is pissed because Viagra failed him. They say you should consult a doctor if you stay…er…aroused for more than 4 hours. It is possible, in Letterman`s case, the blood went to the wrong head.
LOL!
How embarrassing for this “Contessa”. Wow, this is what MSNBC is calling Commentators or Reporters for the air programs? OUCH! How about an ignorant, empty head brat. What got her that position? She sounds like a College girlfriend of Olbermann that took Obama’s Organizing school, be nasty, say anything, get in their face, argue with them.
And, btw, thank you for posting a youtube of it, so I could actually see what you were talking about, as I will not click on an MSNBC video.
OH SNAP!
…want to hear the difference between this Contessa and a strong intelligent woman with integrity? Governor Palin appeared on NBC’s Today show, no doubt partly because of Letterman, but Palin got to talk about the Pipeline she had been championing and then too got to set the record straight on the LOWLIFErs.
She is smart and knows her stuff. Give a listen.
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/31304942#31304942
(she was on NBC, not the address link of MSNBC)
Every time I’ve heard Gov. Palin speak I’ve been impressed by how focussed and clear-thinking she is. She doesn’t have a teleprompter hooked up like an i.v. and she knows her stuff. What I can’t understand is why some people continue to call her dumb. That’s like insisting apples are blue.
I never liked Contessa even when I used to watch MSNBC. She always struck me as a dumb sh*t and the kind of person who would call in sick because her cat had a hairball or she had a hangnail.
Why do these NEWS READERS fancy themselves as JOURNALISTS?
pm317 — You are absolutely correct in calling Contessa Brewer pathetic in this interview. She’s been called a slut and is fine so why didn’t Palin take Letterman’s top ten list as “comedy” as it ws no biggie.
Describing her as a MSNBC handmaiden would be stating the obvious. If post-feminism means girls and women must take any sexist or misogynistic remarks thrown at them and be silent (which shows what — toughness?), then this new generation’s thinking plunges us back toward pre-feminist attitudes. It’s sooo wrong.
We have already determined WHAT she is. Now we need to know her price.
Harp, you should give Churchill the proper credit for that statement. Most folks wouldn’t recognize it as his.
A comment on another blog said women should lighten up as it was a joke. If we didn’t, we’d look like angry, men-hating women on the margins. Whaaaaat?!?
Dave should make a list joking about a black politician and his/her daughter getting knocked up and discover how well that “comedy” goes over. He knows he’d be fired on the spot.
There are some women who haven’t evolved, but many of us don’t.find.it.funny!
Jason Linkins “tends to think” that public favor toward Palin is waning and whenever something is said about her, that’s beneath her, like Letterman’s list, that she shouldn’t turn it “…into a national opera of personal outrage”. The link to Huffpo is here:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/10contessa-brewer-steamed-b_n_213782.html
This post is another example, among many, where the writer thinks women should be “good sports” and laugh at sexist jokes. These people need to re-calibrate their thinking about what constitutes offensive words and language or be left in the dust. Within no time, individuals on several of the blogs were listing media and Letterman Show sponsors’ contact information to protest his “joke”.
-A comment on another blog said women should lighten up as it was a joke. If we didn’t, we’d look like angry, men-hating women on the margins. Whaaaaat?!?-
Heh, heh, that’s a STOPPPER, read about “stoppers” (at Univ class) used against women so that they would stop demanding their rights.
Calling a woman slut or other gender derogatory terms, using the threat of rape or other means of gender specific violence also STOPPERS…..they are means to try to silence.
I can’t find the “stoppers” site you mentioned. Could you help me find it?
it’s not a site. it’s a term used in the women’s studies writings to classify words, statements, actions used against women throughout decades to stop women (thus the term “stoppers”) in their struggles for equality.
Thanks, rw, for responding.
I was in college before the women’s studies courses and major. I’ve understood these “stoppers” from a different perspective. I would have explained it more in terms of how the system controls (silents) women as a minority class and maintains the status quo of the majority. It’s almost as though it’s imprinted on the dna as for its success these many eons.
I like learning these new terms and meanings from you who have been womens studies students.
I just complained to the FCC…
I agree tec,
If Contessa thought Sarah Palin should overlook what Letterman said about her daughter in front of millions of people, why would she cut Ziegler’s mic because he called her out? Ziegler’s interview wasn’t “leaning” in the direction MSNBC wanted, so they took the cowardly way out.
MSNBC has consistently lost viewers since they attacked Hillary from morning till night up to the time the DNC forced her out.
Thank you John Ziegler!!!
Contessa Brewer stamped her little foot and screeched when Hillary Clinton refused to quit the primary season [after she'd racked up the big states]and there was talk that she might challenge the DNC decision in Denver.
“But she said she wouldn’t do that!” little Contessa shrieked.
Not biased? Who is she kidding! I don’t know much about Ziegler but I think he was arrested by campus cops for the audacity of asking questions at one of the Democratic honcho meetings. I mean the nerve of the man. He took a deadly microphone and actually tried asking people why and for what reason they were attending the convo/awards ceremony. How dastardly of him!
Contessa Brewer proved Ziegler’s point. The network is a pathetic joke, as is Letterman. But I’m curious. Would Contessa like to see t-shirts with her name and the “C” word paraded around American streets and played endlessly on video.
Afterall, since slutty jokes don’t bother her, the field is wide open for all manner of abuse.
[...] Rattle Rattle MSNBC Posted on June 12, 2009 by Uppity Woman I stole this from No Quarter. [...]
Having cancelled cable during the primary season, this is my introduction to both of these people. Contessa fits right in there with the likes of Olbermann, Matthews, and Beck, but not even one superior smirk during the entire interview; I think her girdle must have been on too tight. She said it’s okay to make sexist comments about her; so that’s the best I can do.
As for Mr Ziegler, I don’t know if I would agree with much of his politics, but I found him charming. He knows how to deal with a supercilious female.
As for Mr Letterman….those kind of comedians? do 10 minute routines on Central Avenue in Albuquerque. I think Hillbuzz’s idea of a sponsor boycott might get the message across better than anything.
her girdle must have been on too tight.
I hate the phrase “on the rag”, so for obots that get their “claws out”, I say they are “on the Obama”.
Another example of a cut and run liberal–hamming it up in front of the spotlight, but running away when the going gets tough…same old same old from the crowd whose theme song is “Do as I say, but not as I do”.
Go, Sarah, Go!
I haven’t watched MSNBO in over a year. If you are looking for credible, relatively unbiased news, you are barking up the wrong tree on that network.
Chicago-style of change!
Obama ousts AmeriCorps’ IG who investigated friend
Off topic but… worth reading and following up on.
Can anyone just imagine the faux outrage if the comment was made of michelle obama? These tools would be marching in the streets crying racism. Never mind the fact that the comments are degrading to women, the word of the day would be racism.
Contessa is an idiot and makes all women look bad. shame on her.
As for the contessa’s contention that women should have to “suck it up” so as not to seem too soft and girlish….this argument has always made me angry. Women should be themselves and should not have to defent themselves for any of their individual characteristics simply because one of those characteristics is considered “weak,” or worse yet, womanish.
I had a tough-as-nails grandmother who kept us all in line, though we knew her heart was with us.
I had another grandmother who would break into tears if she saw any of us crying.
I loved them both because of their love for their grandchildren. One characteristic was not better or worse.
I remember the time when all the tough MBA women were desperately trying to learn to play golf so they could go out on the course and make the deals the way the men did there. I always thought it was the wrong approach. They needed to change the business culture that said deals made only on the golf course was an o.k business practice. There is no way I would have tried to learn golf just to do business, since it wouldn’t have done me any good. I would have been so bad at it (I have little-to-no athletic ability: can’t walk and chew gum at the same time), would have hated every minute of the lessons trying to figure out WHY people want to get a little round ball into a hole in the ground, etc. If I knew my business-related stuff, that’s all that should have mattered.
Women can be different from men and still be as good as a man. And woment should defend women when they are being treated as jokes because they are women.
What we are witnessing folks is a phenomena in it’s early stages.
The Face of the Republican party will be women.
That’s just fine with me!
Because these women represent my values and understand the existential threats facing this country and are willing to take a stand.
The following are all the latest victims of the rabid left and their total disregard for a Woman’s rights.
Carrie Prejean
Hillary Clinton
Sarah Palin
Too bad for the Marxists!
They labeled the Republican party that of the white male but forgot about the white women….
You all got my full support…Patriots!!
that list as it stands is fine with me too
just leave off anything related too closely to the LAST administration will ya
Perrino is ok tho
I’ll add a few
Carly Ferrino sp?
Alexis Glick
the women that work with Lou Dobbs
(very non-partisan imo)
Moss, you forgot Liz Cheney! And it seems you got these wonderful women from the Playboy list of conservative women that libs would like to “Hate F***”. I’m glad that you are paying attention to the disgusting partisan double standard that has spread like a cancer in our culture. Ignoring it will only let it grow until it is fatal to this nation. Letterman needs to be dragged through an intense public gauntlet of shame and ridicule for his treatment of the Palins. Such a spectacle would be a good start in demonstrating that this country wishes to become well again. But it may take intensive chemotherapy to rid ourselves of the Obama sarcoma.
“Too bad for the Marxists!
They labeled the Republican party that of the white male but forgot about the white women….”
I didn’t think of that…it certainly appears that the Saul Alinksy wing of the DNC should be experiencing cognitive dissonance & you forgot that Malkin, according to Playboy, is a F**kable Filipina.

OH for the LOVE OF JESUS
Contessa - honey, no one believes you are a REAL JOURNALIST
LMAO
vacuous spoiled child
go home now! I’m sure you’ve got chores.
The thing I find most interesting is that Contessa claims she is tough and took some similar abuse and then rose above it.
Then within moments she is so offended at a comment that she has to cut the mic. A comment far less offensive than the ones the Palins are dealing with no less.
What can I say about Letterman’s comments? Only that they’re symptomatic of a generally declining American sensibility concerning what’s polite and appropriate.
First Letterman makes some inappropriate comments for their cheap entertainment value. There’s a reaction. Then the reaction itself gets exploited to draw an audience with even more cheap media content–commentary and discussion of the situation.
Vote with your remote. If you don’t like what you’re seeing and hearing, change channels. If you’ve got digital cable, they’re keeping track.
The MSM is in a struggle with the clear headed citizens of this country, they know their blood is in the water, and we are just waiting..they have had the foolish belief that unless they the great and wonderful media so decide, our voice is silenced by their selective indignation and pompous feigned shock of being “insulted” This is the same media that makes the practice each and everyday to interpret world events for the viewers, not report them. This is the same media that turned a blind eye to every outrageous, untruthful claim of racism, this is the media that is now complicit in re-educating the viewers into what to think and how to react. If you speak out or speak up, you are either insulted like the man holding the baby at the Tea Party, or you are designated as an “invisible” and unworthy subject; unless of course you go mad at noon, strut naked down Wall Street and piss on the front door of the exchange.
SOS Clinton went to Mongolia on June 9. She met with the Foreign minister on June 10.

Apparently, she did a great job, because Mongolia has offered to mediate with North Korea as of June 11.

She will have returned to the US and will be in Niagara Falls NY tomorrow June 13, to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the signing of the Canada-U.S. Boundary Waters Treaty, and will hold a joint press availability with the Canadian Foreign minister.
Give her a freaking break and let her take a nap already.
should say, Niagara Falls NY & Niagara Falls Ontario.

Did you say SOS Clinton is going to Horseshoe Falls to watch the boss BO go over the falls in a barrel with corporate sponsorhip by “Just Word” decaled on the side? What do they call this sport?
Little did BO know as went over the edge; that a woman had done it first.

lol, in my dreams!!
wiki says her cat Iagara tested the safety of her barrel first and accompanied her for luck on her trip as well. maybe Letterman could test BHO’s barrel for him? And if he makes it, they can both climb in their custom Word pickle barrel together. for luck of course.
Wow - this Ziegler guy pulls no punches. He never stopped smiling as he took the opportunity to expose MSNBC for the propaganda machine that it is. Contessa Brewer looked so inept and flustered. I hope she has watched this clip numerous times to see how completely outmatched she was as she attempted to make Palin look bad. Utter failure there. Ziegler kept Brewer on the defensive. Now I’ll go watch his video on how Obama got elected (as though we didn’t know!)
The entire day — any day for that matter — for msnbc is laughable because they can dish it out, but sure can’t take it. Just like FoxNews, the channel, its guests, its questions, are so predictable. Ziegler doesn’t fit their mold and like a forum mod banning someone, he gets cutoff.
Stay classy, Cuntessa. There, feel better now, honey? Maybe I should be even more sexist, would that make you feel better, you whore? Hope you’re not mad, Cuntessa. You’re a woman; you’re fair game, right?
msnbc - they can dish it out, but they can not take it. Cut off his mike please.
Really. You might think that when these airhead faux TV journalists-newshosts get hired, a manager would stress this point: “Don’t ever ever ever say, while you are on-camera, ‘Cut off his mike.’” But perhaps they assume that such an obvious admonition just goes without saying. How petty! How unprofessional!
Yep, that in a nutshell is what this post about and of course their indefensible position as a propaganda network.
