David Letterman walked into a veritable shit sandwich with his disgusting attempt last week to trash Sarah Palin by telling a joke that sexually exploited her teenage daughter. He tried to laugh it off but angry Americans got to the advertisers and David paid a price. He finally admitted his error. Well, looks like Obama committed an equally stupid foul today but instead of assaulting a teenage girl he is going after the over sixty crowd. He is firing an Inspector General who had the audacity to claim a buddy of Barack was skimming money from needy kids. What did Mr. Transparency Obama do? Back the investigation? Hell no! He opted to smear the Inspector General, who happens to be seventy-eight years old, and issued a statement claiming the man is suffering from dementia:

This is so outrageous that it suggests that maybe old Barack is using drugs that alter his judgment.

Thanks for posting this, Larry. This is reminiscent of the smears against McCain’s age during the election. At the time, Obama was playing towards his young base. But now that the election is over, he can’t be insulting old people - as they are what will boot him out or putting a slew of Republicans in Congress come 2010.
I will say a lot of my Obamabot friends are becoming increasingly disillusioned with him. If he makes it past 2012 it will be do to voter fraud for sure.
Walprin apparently isn’t the first. Obama has allegedly fired other IGs who have been uppity enough to investigate alleged corruption.
Obama used the same tactic against McCain during the campaign, at one point saying that McCain was “confused” and had “lost his bearings” — making him sound senile. The Obama campaign also put out commercials portraying McCain as a doddering old fool who did not know how to use a computer. They of course contrasted that with Obama’s supporters who were pictured as young, cool techno-wizards. Obama and his entire administration are beneath contempt when it comes to insulting senior citizens.
Yes, ageism was rampant from their campaign along with racism and sexism.
Mr. Walprin was apparently smart and sharp enough to figure out the fraud.
Glenn Beck is a sexist slimeball - he should work at applying the same outrage over ageism and the slander of this public servant by Obama, toward the sexism in which he has engaged toward Hillary Clinton.
Nonetheless, it is good to see Mr. Walpin give his side of things - and he is obviously very lucid and in my view, exceedingly honest.
Sexism and ageism were mainstays of the Obama campaign - and the “isms” came directly from the top: from BO himself. It is a culture of hate and corruption cloaked in hopey-changey feel good rhetoric - May it be exposed for what it is: deceptive and fraudulent.
Well, at least Beck isn’t afraid to speak out now! I never heard him say sexist things about Hillary, but I was not watching much when he was part of CNN. He doesn’t like Hillary because he considers her a progressive so at least I understand his dislike of her, whether I agree with her or not, but I’ve not heard sexism from him since he’s been on FOX. Quite frankly I will be happy when any and all people speak out against Obama and I don’t care if they are democrats, republicans, liberitarians, Independents, sexists, racists, male, female, gay, straight. You’re giving Richard Nixon a bad name. Obama’s action in firing Walpin was not simply unethical (he denied funds to his buddy KJ who was committing blatant fraud with fund he had), it was clearly illegal. Obama co-authored a bill requiring 30 days notice and a compelling reason given to Congress for such a firing of an Inspector General. Obama broke the law. It can even be argued that Obama broke civil rights laws with his dispicable reference to the man’s age and mental capacity.
Let me repeat that. Obama broke a federal statute and he did so with premeditation and with malicious intent.
The use of impeachment has been recklessly abused over the last 10 years and for purely political purposes.
In this case Obama clearly broke laws and impeachment discussion needs to be brought forward.
Will it? Of course not. At least not until 2010 when Republicans retake the House.

I am outraged. I hope Mr. Walpin keeps talking about this. Can he sue the govt? What a despicable way to treat an honorable, obviously principled man just doing his job.

I am in the midst of finals but, I stole a minute to look this up. I’sG have their own web site, which led me to the U.S. Code, Office of Personnel Management. I had to stop; but, in most cases, where public employment provides that an employee can only be fired for cause, this creates a property interest in the job. This means, if the employee was fired without due process - in this case, a 30-day advance notice to Congress, in writing - then, the employee has a viable due process claim. But even in at at-will position, while an employee can be fired for no reason, he cannot be fired for an illegal reason. Also, many jurisdictions have public policy exceptions for at-will firings, for example, where an employee is fired for doing his prescribed job.
It’s an important story, and I hope Mr. Walpin continues to tell it. He deserves a lot of credit. After so many years of service, it would be easy to walk away with the conviction that he doesn’t need this garbage. People need to hear about the hypocrisy of Mr. Obama’s administration.
As soon as I read the story earlier today, the first thing that went through my mind is; this sounds like age discrimination. But as I mentioned in AGI’s article, I’m sure Walpin will get accused of racism here very soon.

Then, it’s a good thing he is on the record as supporting Judge Sotomayor’s appointment to the SCOTUS! In fact, he claimed in one of his interviews that the WH has called him a few times to discuss how that support could help the process! McCaskill is a beast with the brain of a fruit fly the morals of an alley cat and the savoir faire of one of the assailents in the movie Deliverance. She loves to play grab ass bambi on airplanes, and he has to remove her hand from his shoulder.
Thus it is hardly surprising that after no investigation she would conclude that Bambi was right to fire Walpin. As such, her finding that there was just cause. She is the decrepit life form that is nothing more than a rubber stamp.
Her husband was a barrister and turned up dead. He was a lucky lawyer.
The law says the IGs can not be fired without just cause and a 30 day notice by the white house. Obama did not meet either one of the two requirements. McCaskill is full of sh*t. Below is a letter I sent her today in response to a campaign solicition:
I have informed you before that as a 63-year-old black woman, a person who marched with Dr King, a staunch Hillary supporter and lifelong democrat, I am now an independent PUMA voter.
Since you took the advice of your 16-year-old daughter in supporting the “know nothing about nothing” Obama, you can take her advice about raising money for your campaign, fixing the economy, creating jobs, lowering the deficit, etc. In fact I wish I lived in Missouri so that I could vote against you and your air-headed ways of looking at dire situations that face the country.
Unlike Rush Limbaugh who did not say that he wanted the president to fail but that he wanted his policies to fail, my view is that a person like Obama who doesn’t know anything WILL FAIL as opposed to someone of Hillary’s experience.

All I know about McCaskill was that she was an unapologetic BO supporter in the primaries.
But what occurred to me was how in the congress they (within both parties) often strategically plan who will vote for something or against it - for example, if the dems want to vote for something deemed “liberal”, but some dems are from rather conservative areas, they make sure they have enough votes to pass it, and then will allow those certain legislators to vote against it - to help them save face with their own constituency - especially if they’re up for re-election soon. It’s all such a game.
So now, whenever some legislator speaks up for or against something, especially if it’s a bit of an about face, I always wonder about the politics within the politics. Geez, I just don’t trust any of them anymore.
Nevermind. I just read elsewhere that McCaskill caved in less than 24 hours.

According to this Washington Times investiation, Walprin admits to stress induced fatigue at the board meeting and briefly losing his place while being denied the opportunity to review his notes, but there can be no disagreement by any reasonable standard on whether he was doing his job or not. Thus, McCaskill’s take on whether Obama obeyed the law on notification becomes essentially equally irrelevant.

The Walpin story fills me with despair. It is as though our country is being run by a mob boss. A friend said today, “We’ll vote him out in 2012.”
By then, it might not matter how we vote. He may win in the same fashion that Ahmadinejad won in Iran…he won because he said he won. With the press working for Obama and ACORN and who knows who else…the voters may just be going through the motions of electing a president. Voter fraud may be replaced with voter nullification. Or maybe the intimidation tactics attempted in Philadelphia last November will be used at all the polls. I am hoping for impeachment.

I heard a clip of him whining about FOX. It’s just unbelievable–he has had unprecedented media adulation. It’s been statistically documented several times–far more positive coverage and the amount of coverage than any president, and all he can do is snivel and complain about the “people being very very mean to me.” Classic narcissist.

If anyone other than Obama had done this, the story would be a headline everywhere. It’s an obvious example of corruption, cronyism and ageism. By firing this IG in the manner he did, the POTUS violated a law he co-sponsored not so long ago. Under normal circumstances this would add an irresistable dimension to the narrative that the media would pounce on and run with.
BUT, as it is, only conservative media is giving the story much attention. My hopey-changey husband knew NOTHING about it when I just mentioned it to him (and he’s a news junkie who reads several newspapers, magazines, internet sites, etc., daily). He said if it were true it could be an impeachable offense. But since it’s barely a blip on the media radar screen he presumes it’s a non-story and/or the charges are without merit.
This totally demoralizes and scares the hell out of me.

The ramfications of the Walpin firing go well beyond Obama’s smear job. It speaks volumes about BO and the Democrats power grab that is happening at breakneck speed. Do you notice every industry in this country has to have a czar? BO wants to invest more powers in the federal government. Why? With this process BO can go around Congress and have absolute power. Once again, I am dismayed by the silence from those who could speak out against this blatant discrimination. Charlie Rangel, Arlen Spector, Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, etc. - the generational peers of Gerald Walpin who should be outraged by this slam against one from their generation being dismissed in this fashion - have ignored the opportunity to address this bigotry. It’s like the silence from NOW when Sarah Palin is repeatedly slammed with sexist remarks. Hypocrisy exposed, credibility lost.

I don’t get all of the outrage about Letterman’s joke. All of the late night comedians have made similar jokes about Palin’s daughter previously - what’s different this time? It just seems to me that Palin’s “outrage” is aimed at getting media attention as the MSM finally was starting to forget about her.

It’s not enough to write about the corrupt Obama administration. We who did not support and vote for Obama knew this would happen. I don’t understand how there could be so many stupid americans.
