You really think that it is a good thing that this father left his family for another man and that the children are being exposed to the unnatural gay lifestyle? ....in the last days, people will call evil good and good evil....

Nobody knows how this family saga will end.

I am betting the kids are monsters . Children in these circumstances know how to manipulate .

They are plotting now how to destroy any parental happiness.

That's kids.

Other peoples kids are even worse!

My pleasure, Mountainaires.

It really is astonishing, isn't it, what people can do to each other? It was just cruel, though, what this poor man had to go through, not unlike candymarl's friend. To use one's children like that is just reprehensible.

Candymarl, my heart goes out to your friend. I hope his situation is resolved quickly so he may be reunited with his children.

My deepest sympathies to you on your loss...

And yes, this would make quite the movie, wouldn't it? I am sure more people have gone through this than we can even imagine...

Wow, just wow. I cannot believe that he had to suffer for so long, first hiding who he was from his own family, then being able to only visit with his children ONCE A WEEK FOR FOUR HOURS.

Because he's gay?

It breaks my heart for Eric Mongerson. Sandy Kay must have really been more mad about the fact that her spouse turned out to be gay; that's the only reason I can see for her to be so vengeful against a man she "loved" for 20 years. For 20 years, she didn't have a problem with this man being a father to his children, but suddenly--just because he's gay--he's a threat to them, and only gets ONCE A WEEK FOR FOUR HOURS visits with them.

Because he's gay.

Wow. Now, that's a whole lotta hate from Sandy Kay.

Now, thankfully, she just wants to "move on." She's adjusted to the idea that her former husband is gay, and she can't keep the hate going anymore. So. She won't "appeal" the court's ruling that the poor man has always been their father, whether he was gay or not, and should be allowed to be their father, whether he's gay or not, with all that that implies.

This is a huge story, and frankly, I think Eric Mongerson should write a screenplay about it, or a book. It's begging for movie rights.

I'm happy for him and his partner and for the children. What a great father's day gift. Thanks for posting it, RRRAmy...

Marvelous piece. It brought tears to my eyes. My father died quite young and I still miss him to this day.

A friend of mine, who happens to be straight, has cried and suffered for years because he hasn't seen his children as the result of a bitter divorce. A divorce in which he was the wronged party BTW.

He's having a tough time today and my heart goes out to him.

So to the lucky fathers out there and to the father in this report - I wish you all a Happy Fathers Day.

My own day is being spent comparing the Iranian crisis with our own recent disenfranchisement, and wishing those brave souls only the best as they
put their lives on the line for the right to vote.
