John Edwards, he’s cute in an odd sort of way, spends a fortune on his hair, likes to primp in front of the camera, and has an infantile fixation of the phrase *you’re hot*.
He got caught with his panties down, and now, god save us all, there is a sex tape.
“Former presidential candidate John Edwards is out of luck if he hoped that the extramarital affairs of Gov. Mark Sanford and Sen. John Ensign would take people’s minds off his own cheating scandal.
Former Edwards aide Andrew Young says the ex-senator and his former mistress, Rielle Hunter, once made a sex tape, according to someone who has seen Young’s book proposal.
St. Martin’s Press just inked a deal with Young, who also says in his proposal that, contrary to his public statement last year, he is not the father of Hunter’s infant daughter — Edwards is. Edwards has denied that.Young says that his belief in Edwards ran so deep that he agreed to take the fall for the candidate, inviting the pregnant Hunter to live with him, his wife, Cheri, and their three children. Later, after Hunter delivered the baby, Young and his family moved to a different home in California.”
What? Young is NOT the father of Edward’s baby? I’m shocked! Shocked I tell ya. What did Young tell his kids? “Hey kids, this lady is coming to live with us, and if anyone asks, she is daddy’s secret baby mama. But don’t worry, it’s not true, I’m just covering up for Mr. Edwards, the guy running for President.” Gross.
“While he was unpacking, Young discovered a videocassette, according to the book pitch. Hunter had been hired by the Edwards campaign to videotape the candidate’s movements, but this one is said to have shown him taking positions that weren’t on his official platform.”
“According to our source, Hunter confided to Young that she and Edwards talked about getting married should the candidate’s cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, pass away, even discussing what music they’d play at their wedding.”
Ok, that is beyond Paris Hilton. That’s like Dr. Evil kind of shit. (No wonder Edwards continued campaigning when Elizabeth announced her cancer was back… he was already making plans for the future. What a pig.) I wonder if Elizabeth is going to do a new round of interviews after hearing this.

My guess is that Hillary knew about the affair, and she wouldn’t touch Edwards with a ten foot pole. Obama, however, promised Edwards either a Vice Presidential or Attorney General position. And who did Edwards endorse?

john edwards is a creep…….I see no evidence that hillary knew what was going on…..If she did, and didnt speak up…..shame on her…..but as I said…there is no evidence of that…
I don’t think she wanted to get blamed for playing dirty politics. Remember Obama brought down all of his Chicago opponents. I think Hillary figured the press would actually do its job, and report on those things…
Also, I think she gets the pecking order… race trumps gender… for now. But, I think that is changing. Hillary and McCain knew the child emperor has a whole deck of “the card”… and he isn’t above flaunting them. But, he also cheapens them by doing so. The card is becoming less valuable… like money when it is over printed. It buys less every time.
Even if Hillary DID know about the Edwards saga, can you imagine the backlash had SHE been the one to “Out” Edwards. She would have had to drop out of the race because it would have no doubt backfired on her. All the enemies were calling for her to drop out anyway - imagine adding this dimension.
If Hillary did not talk about the caucus fraud, she sure as hell was not going to bring up marrital dirt on another candidate. Besides, she knew Edwards was not a threat. We can’t even be sure the votes going to Edwards would have gone Hillary’s way had he not been a factor. The Edwards delegates primarily went to B0. Telling everything she knew on that would have been a very dumb thing to do - Hillary is much too savvy to have gone down that rugged path to nowhere.
Fran, if memory serves, I think Hillary DID protest the caucus fraud, but the DNC blew her off. (That’s the short version - I would have to go back and watch it again, but I think the documentary, “We Will Not Be Silenced” mentions it, too…)
But I agree she would have been SO trashed had she brought it up. It would have become all abt HER and Edwards would somehow be let off the hook…
RRReverend Amy, I think you are correct that Hillary and Bill talked about the caucus problems briefly, but, like you say, the group that would have investigated it, the DNC, turned a deaf ear and blind eye - hearing and seeing nothing. The caucus fraud was part of the master plan. Remember it was later reported here by some of the NQ regulars from Washington State as well as other states how Donna Brazile went to their state trying to persuade them to have caucuses instead of a primary. They had the caucuses in Washington state, but they also had the planned primary that *didn’t count*. Guess who won the caucuses by a much larger margin than the primary vote, per Lynette Long?
I’m sure Hillary and Bill recognized early on they would have no support from the vocal party leadership. Early in the game, Nancy Pelosi and all those supporting BO since his 2004 convention speech, Howard Dean & the DNC probably looked like they were merely trying to stay neutral when in actuality they were working feverishly behind the scenes for B0. They controlled a huge portion of the message. Even when they were not overtly endorsing 0, their statesments were favorable to him and never to Hillary. They mentioned Hillary on a needs-to-know basis only. They surely were not going to indict their selected candidate no matter what he or his 3 or 4 campaigns did, including their own. The caucus fraud was Dean’s brainchild anyway. Had he gotten off of Square one in 2004, he would have used that strategy.
Rham Emanuel did not endorse 0 until late June 2008, but does anyone doubt the Democratic Congressional Committee Chair from Chicago, no less, was sitting on his hands until that time? He along with Pelosi and no telling who else made sure they did their part to 1) win the 2008 presidential election as well as keep a majority in both houses of congress & 2) make sure the POTUS would be B0.
Regardless of who was supporting Hillary at that level, they had no voice. It appeared Hillary had minimal support among the Super Delegates. Most of them had been paid off in 2007 with B0’s first fundraising efforts (orchestrated by Nancy Pelosi) that gave mega bucks to their campaigns.

Hillary wasn’t allowed to defend herself or even question obama’s record. Before the primary was really off the ground, the media was already painting Hillary as the candidate who would do and say anything to win, despite the fact that it was really obama who was doing that. The fix was in and the corrupt system obviously chose a corrupt politician (obama) to further their agenda.

I’m certain all the democratic candidates were aware of the Edwards affair, but you seem to focus only on Hillary being obligated to speak out if she knew.
What about obama and the rest of the boyz? What about their endorsement of obama in order to get some political pay back. They ganged up on Hillary in order to put her on the defensive, but that sort of behavior gets a pass. After all, it was Hillary who would do and say anything to get elected and the opposite was true.

A couple people in the media were whispering about Edwards early on. National Enquirer wrote about it a few times. People knew about it, no one would report it. Just like Hillary knew about Wright, and Ayers, etc.

According to Biden’s wife he did the same thing with him, but just couldn’t find anything to keep from going back on what he promised him. Hillary being no one’s puppet said you know what…I don’t want to be your VP, make me the SOS. I want to work for the American people, not you. Yes, my guess was, being Edwards Campaign Mgr, Bonior was no doubt aware of the affair, was how he got Edwards to endorse…with the sweetened lie that he would be VP or AG. And no doubt Obama and Biden knew and was the source of the tip when Edwards went to meet Reille and child in the hotel.
That was a great way of getting Edwards out of the picture, the perfect excuse why he couldn’t have any part of the administration. Just like Kerry was promised SOS for the endorsement…as also Richardson was promised VP or SOS for his endorsement.
