Ft. Worth cops definitely operate under the waco mentality. only thing worse is a DALLAS cop! I think most of the cops here were football players/class bullies in high school who now have a shield, gun and taser to HIDE behind. My garage was broken into a few months ago and by the time the DPD left I felt as thought I needed to apologize to them for bothering them with my petty ass problem.

Here in my city in South Florida, we experienced the same type of thing a few years ago. It all had to do with the new development plan of our mayor and city commission. We had a few gay bars here, all in the downtown area. We also had a growing gay community. The city had become rundown and the housing market was cheap but had possibilities. Their plan was for new condos for wealthier families. Ours was to re-vitalize the area, fixing up the existing homes that were pretty cool with old style Florida arcitecture (sp?). We were literally harassed out of town. The gay bars were raided frequently. Our homes were cited and fined because we didn't use color schemes that met the city's approval. We were harassed by code enforcement to the point that alot of money got spent repairing old homes and refurbishing them with landscaping, privacy fences, swimming pools and "color". We began to move elsewhere. The bars all closed. The grand master scheme of the mayor and city gov't was put into play, condo's were built, houses torn down, etc. The "wealthier families" stayed put in the suburbs. The money dried out. Nobody bought their condos. Developers dropped out, leaving fenced in vacant lots with weeds. Small independent businesses shuttered. Guess what happened? The mayor and city have started marketing everything to the gay community, asking us to buy their condos and open up our old businesses. The didn't realize what a good thing they had and are now paying the price for it in dollars. I'm still here but am leaving as soon as I can dump my property which nobody wants.

Obama will not get involved. He could end it with a phone call and an executive order. Not gonna happen.

The GLBT will be left to wander in the wilderness like a bear cub who's mother done in like political road kill.

A combat veteran, U.S. Army Lieutenant Dan Choi is a hero to me. To BO he is one more sucker.

His quote "As I learned at West Point, deception and lies poison a unit and cripple a fighting force,” he wrote." says it all about BO.
yttik thanks for the link.

"..there is zero proof that the police did anything wrong."

What's wrong is that they took a 160 pound, unarmed man, and slammed his head so hard he's in intensive care suffering a life threatening brain bleed.

Also on the list of outrages, Dan Choi will stand trial tomorrow for being gay. He's a combat veteran who served his country and now faces the loss of all of his benefits. Apparently 77 members of congress signed a letter to President Obama calling him an exemplary soldier.

Thanks, AGII - I was in a hurry this morning and didn't have time to check (had to get to the nursing center to see Mom, then drive back down to get my partner to the airport). Appreciate it!

I did catch that this was one of three bars, but I can't imagine what in the world they thought was going on there that justified a raid after ONE WEEK of being open. Seems pretty suspect to me...

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is scary, seems we are going backwards in history now to pre-Stonewall. How disheartening to have this on the Stonewall anniversary. Everyone deserves dignity and civil rights. And safety.

Officers in fact DO carry zip ties. Especially when going to a crowded bar. That makes my point perfectly, as for the paddy wagon, thats standard operating procedure as well. They went to 3 bars, knowing they were full, probably having staked them out first. the police may be a lot of things, but stupid usually isnt one of them. and when they know there are many people, in a bar and drinking. Thats a red flag before they even get to the scene. And people never carry guns in Texas right?....hahaha thats a good one.

<blockquote>If some drunk dude at a gay bar got belligerent with a police officer</blockquote> What does a cop tell a guy with a brain injury?... Nothing, he already told him once. I think this is what happened. You have this joint task force raid on <strike>immorality</strike> illegal booze and because it's a gay bar the two gaggles of cops need to show off their <strike>toughness</strike> manliness to the other. Waco mentality.

I am sorry. I can only speculate on the police motive {if any} and there is a history of police discrimination against gay people. I was making the point that there are many more good police units in this country , then there are bad ones. I wasnt clear enough.

If some drunk dude at a gay bar got belligerent with a police officer, whether it was "groping" or some other form of contact, this will obviously land him in hot water with the police, and obviously so. You just don't mess with sworn police officers, period.

Another interesting note, the ebay bidding on Obama's alleged Kenyan birth certificate is now up to $15,000! The link is here:

We said during the primaries if 'that one' gets gifted the oval office seat that the backlash on women and gays would be swift. Everything he stands for is thuggery and it gives his groupies the mindset to discriminate against gays and women because he himself is a woman hater and closeted down low bi. who is also homophobic.
