Larry,

Scheuer is symptomatic of a larger problem -- wacko prominent NEOCONS have been wishing for attacks in order to bring back their NEOCON AGENDA.

prominent Neocons who have uttered what Scheuer aspires:

Newt Gingrich

"This is ... one of the great tragedies of the Bush administration," Gingrich continued. "The more successful they've been at intercepting and stopping bad guys, the less proof there is that we're in danger. And therefore, the better they've done at making sure there isn't an attack, the easier it is to say, 'Well, there never was going to be an attack anyway.' And it's almost like they should every once in a while have allowed an attack to get through just to remind us". (April, 2008)

Donald Rumsfeld

"That's what I was just going to say. This President's pretty much a victim of success. We haven't had an attack in five years. The perception of the threat is so low in this society that it's not surprising that the behavior pattern reflects a low threat assessment. The same thing's in Europe, there's a low threat perception. The correction for that, I suppose, is an attack. And when that happens, then everyone gets energized for another [inaudible] and it's a shame we don't have the maturity to recognize the seriousness of the threats...the lethality, the carnage, that can be imposed on our society is so real and so present and so serious that you'd think we'd be able to understand it, but as a society, the longer you get away from 9/11, the less...the less..." (December, 2006)

Stu Bykofsky
(Columnist, Philadelphia Daily News)

"One month from The Anniversary, I'm thinking another 9/11 would help America," laments Stu Bykofsky in his Philadelphia Daily News column.

"Remember the community of outrage and national resolve? America had not been so united since the first Day of Infamy - 12/7/41. We knew who the enemy was then. America's fabric is pulling apart like a cheap sweater. What would sew us back together? Another 9/11 attack." (August, 2007)

Lt. Col. Doug Delaney
(chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario)

"The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago." (July, 2007)

Rick Santorum
(former PA Senator)

"Between now and November, a lot of things are going to happen, and I believe that by this time next year, the American public’s going to have a very different view of this war, and it will be because, I think, of some unfortunate events, that like we’re seeing unfold in the UK. But I think the American public’s going to have a very different view." (July, 2007)

Dennis Milligan
(chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party)

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," (June, 2007)

you’re lead by a weak president who seems to detest his own country
And that was pretty much the platform he ran on for two years. That and not being "Bush". But, the detesting his country part was the only thing he was honest about... because he is the mirror image of Bush. completely reversed, but strangely identical.

Where was the "nuclear nut meltdown" exactly? Yes, he seems to be obsessed about Osama but that doesn't change the fact that there are people who'd like to kill Americans just because of their faith or nationality. Nor does it change the fact that illegal immigration causes a lot of negatives.

It breaks my heart to see that the US is following so closely on Europe's footsteps and rejoicing over the benefits of multiculturalism. Oh, and of course if any problems do occur the blame is always on the Americans. Are you there yet? Because that's what we've been hearing for decades; we're lazy, racist, genetically bad and we need to be perfected.

The problems in Europe are a bit different than what you're facing since here it has a lot to do with religion and muslims have become a majority by 2050. The problems are present already and it's absurd that the people in charge still refuse to see them. We're becoming the next Balkan and anyone who dares to say a word is jailed. So I don't have much hope that American politicians would do things differently. The oppressive politics have worked like magic, so far.

A big terrorist attack is exactly what is needed to wake some people up. It would have no impact in Europe since we're all brainwashed that terrorists are only a group of few people and suggesting they have anything to do with muslims will again land you in jail. Americans still have hope since political correctness isn't as bad in the States as it is in here.

All my friends who've migrated to the US have nothing but good things to say and Americans in my eyes are people who are proud of their country and will go for that extra mile to defend it. But now you're lead by a weak president who seems to detest his own country and flies all over the world to appease the muslims suggesting that Islam is the best religion in the world. Downgrading oneself is an European custom, we're professionals in that field and I hope you stop trying to match us!

Please, respect yourself. Be proud of yourself. Defend yourself.

To the contrary--the greatest threat to this country are the mindless automatons occupying the right and left fringes in this country, which have brought us the likes of Georgie "Tinhorn" Bush and That One. Thanks a lot for bringing the lowest common denominator to the head of the table.

I thought the interview was pretty good, especially the part about the unarmed National Guards, until the part about Obama blowing us up in order to get the attention of those "Harvard types."

Can't we just vote them out? I don't think we need to another terrorist attack.

Glenn Beck is the first person to say he is a lunatic. With that being said, the things he reports on (ACORN being one example) are enough to drive anyone crazy.

So he acts all wimpy, like Tuesday's hamburger, and that makes us safer?

A-Nony-Mouse
I do not know if have seen BO's AP interview? In responding to the question of Iran, I am not impressed. More to the point he was just verbally wacked by Diner Jacket and does not have the presence of mind to use the interview to "communicate" with the Iranian president.

HE HAS NO POLICY REGARDING IRAN. Me thinks Susan Rice has more input than the SOS.

I have to agree. I can at least say with certainty where Osama's loyalities are. There isn't enough information on That One and his history to be able to say the same. That tabula rasa of his is one scary thing.
