Palin to Step Down as Governor at the End of July…”Open Thread* [Updated by LJ]

Yes, that is the news. According to NY Times’s Mitchell L. Blumenthal, Sarah Palin to Resign as Governor of Alaska effective July 25th:
Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska announced Friday that she would step down by the end of the month and not seek a second term as governor, fueling speculation that she is seriously weighing whether to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.
Ms. Palin, who was Senator John McCain’s vice presidential running mate last year and solidified the support of the party’s conservative base, explained her decision at a news conference at her home in Wasilla, Alaska, accompanied by her husband, Todd, and other family members.
“We know we can effect positive change outside of government,” she said in making the announcement.

Known as Sarah Barracuda when she played basketball in high school, Ms. Palin used point guard analogy in explaining her decision, saying she knows “exactly when to pass the ball so the team can win.”She said that she planned to hand over the reins of the state government to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who would be sworn in at the governor’s picnic in Fairbanks later this month.
“This decision came after much consideration,” Ms. Palin told reporters gathered at her home, and added, “I really don’t want to disappoint anyone with this announcement.”
There had been wide speculation that she would seek to be the Republican Party’s presidential candidate in 2012. Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, who is also considered to be a leading Republican candidate for president in 2012, announced last month that he would not seek re-election.
By leaving office early, Ms. Palin, a 45-year-old mother of five, will be able to travel around the country more freely and not be constrained by the duties and responsibilities of being a governor.
“Some are going to question the timing of this, and let me say this decision has been in the works for quite a while,” she said.
I cannot imagine what her thinking is here, but surely having to deal with all sorts of bogus ethics complaints, paying astronomical legal fees and fending off the non-stop media hit squad doesn’t help her in doing her job as Governor, or in caring for her family.
Whatever her motives or endgame here, I find the witch hunt against her absolutely disgusting. Ironic that prior to Sarah Palin being chosen as Senator McCain’s running mate, she commented about Hillary Clinton being on the receiving end of sexist attacks at the hands of the media. While she was very respectful of Clinton, she said at the time a woman knows she’ll be dealing with this going in, so she’s just got to be twice as good and get on with it. She intimated it would be better to just not mention it.
It is unfortunate that she has learned the hard way just what SoS Clinton has had to deal with for sixteen years.
Your thoughts, please.
UPDATE–Couple of articles with more substance on Governor Palin’s decision and motive.
Here’s what Sam Stein reports:
The head of the Republican Governor’s Association said on Friday that in emails sent to him moments before she announced her resignation as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin discussed expanding the role she played in the Republican Party.
“Part of her decision is she wants to spend more time campaigning for candidates,” Nick Ayers, the executive director of the RGA, told Fox News.
“She felt like she needed to make her colleagues around the country aware, so she had given us a brief heads up,” Ayers said of getting the emails. “We have known for a couple of days she was considering not running for re-election but it was news today that she had gone ahead and made the decision to fully step down and resign.”
My friend, John Batchelor, posted this a bit ago (the original appears at the Daily Beast):
Rather than a blow to a career, Sarah Palin’s decision to resign underlines her self-awareness, writes The Daily Beast’s John Batchelor. She is now unmatched for the 2012 primary.
The early excuse for the Republican circular firing squad of the holiday weekend is that Weekly Standard editor and party brainiac Bill Kristol claims that pugnacious McCain campaign enforcer Steve Schmidt has been caught gossiping to Vanity Fair’s Todd Purdum about Sarah Palin’s rambling and incoherent vice-presidential campaign last September and October. (Now that Palin has announced her resignation from Alaska’s governorship, the late excuse for the fisticuffs will certainly be that the boys smelled a special mom baking an apple pie in the kitchen of the GOP and they got in line early with a plate and appetite.)
Purdum, writing with a polite disdain, does flatter Palin as “the sexiest and riskiest brand in the Republican Party,” before he goes on to mention unnamed McCain campaign sources who tell stories of Palin’s erratic behavior on the trail supposedly caused by her “post-partum depression.” Kristol asserts as evidence that Schmidt was the source of this defamatory rumor that Kristol knows that Schmidt has recently emailed Palin out of the blue. “Perhaps Steve was nervous someone would finger him for the Purdum piece,” Kristol proposes.
What Palin begins with an announcement from Wasilla is not only a campaign, it is an Iditarod of a crusade.
Firing back, Schmidt immediately emailed a reference to Bill Kristol’s distant youth when he worked for the perennial GOP chump, Vice President Dan Quayle: “I’m sure John McCain would be president today if only Bill Kristol had been in charge of the campaign.”
Meanwhile, the sniping continues to deteriorate, with erstwhile McCain campaign advisers like Randy Scheunemann choosing sides with Kristol (Scheunemann hates Schmidt, who tried to force him out of the campaign as a leaker and confiscated his BlackBerry), while Schmidt reveals that he had the permission of McCain and Palin to ferret out who was leaking unkind details on Palin to the media. No comment yet from the senator and the governor on their genius of a Plumbers Unit. Another campaign aide, Nicole Wallace, and her husband, Mark Wallace, are mentioned as founts of poison on Palin. “This is all news to me,” Nicole Wallace proclaims.
Is this normal after a losing presidential campaign? No. Nor is this a normal year for the Republicans. Kristol and Schmidt and their cronies all know that the Republican brand that they depend upon for a job and for money, lots of money, has been wrecked to the point of no return. They are veterans of a lost cause with one wild adventure to try before history moves on—and the adventurer’s name is Sarah Palin.
Palin’s sudden announcement that she will resign the Alaska governorship at the end of July, delivered alongside the fireworks of the 4th of July, underlines her self-awareness that she must respond to the pyrotechnics of her stature in the GOP—and must respond in an explosive fashion. Discarding the demands of an Alaska job that is at best part-time, undemanding, predictable, banal, means that she will now devote full-time to traveling the “lower 48” in order to speak, speak, speak. Wherever she goes, she is Alaska, moose-hunting, and Wasilla. As a candidate, she begins the nomination hunt with a formula that none of her rivals can match, not even Mitt Romney, not only because she gave up something in order to go for the White House but also because she reached this decision by being drafted. What is going on right now in the Republican Party—even as the professionals scramble to react with grins and snorts to the news of Palin’s Alaska resignation—are the early scenes of the 2012 campaign for the presidency with Sarah Palin as the once and future hero. Like Joan of Arc, Catherine the Great, Elizabeth Regina, and, skipping four centuries of quarrelsome princes, Margaret Thatcher, the Republican Party has already decided that the governor of Alaska will rescue the GOP from its ruination. What Sarah Palin begins with an announcement from Wasilla is not only a campaign, it is an Iditarod of a crusade—first woman, first mom, and second moose-hunter into the White House.
If you scoff at Palin for president, you are likely insufficiently cynical to work on a national campaign. Eight months after the election, the governor is as natural and gifted a presidential candidate as anyone since Huey Long. The farther she stays away from Washington and the longer she pushes away those sharpies clamoring for her to raise PAC money, to prepare gray-bearded policy positions, network at the barbecues in Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina (well, maybe not South Carolina right now), the more box-office irresistible she will be to Republican primary voters. What most recommends the Palin boom is that she is now, 40 months to the election, as celebrated by the GOP right wing as she is reviled by the Democratic left wing.

This reminds me of when Palin took a risk and resigned from the Oil and Gas Committee – basically becoming “nonexistent” to the AK Republican Party.
She knew what she was doing then, just as she does now. She rose from those ashes, and she’ll do it again.

The latest in a series of crucifixes
I see nothing but positives for the future for Sarah. No more ethics battles draining away finances, gives her time to write the book she committed to, time to put together an organization, time to polish up her presentation. I think we can always count on her authenticity but she does need to refine her message and get rid of some of the crutches she relies on for effect.
Go Sarah!
Maybe she’s going to head into the Alaskan wilderness to get away from the ubiquitous and insufferable Michael Jackson coverage. If that’s the reason, I understand and envy her.
Agreed. At least she took that off the screen for a half hour. Such a contrast in the dignified manner in which Farah Fawcett’s funereal was handled and the circus that will be performed on Tuesday.
Comparing Farah Fawcett to Michael Jackson is ridiculous. Michael Jackson was about 1000X more famous and more influential than Fawcett. It makes sense for the public display for MJ to be larger.
50 year old geezer freak sleeping with little boys…more famous and influential alright, to the front row seat of the fires of hell.
You know, there is a story being untold here. MJ unable to hang with other peoples young kids… bought some of his own that couldn’t be taken away. They weren’t supposedly related to either he or his wife. There is a side to that revelation that doesn’t sit so well, if you go there.
Geezer? Someone is now a geezer at 50? How old are you, 7?
logic, pls-
If I say, MJ is a geezer at 50, he likes sleeping with little boys.
AND
You say, 50 a geezer? How old are you, 7?
THEN, a 50 year old who liked to have sleepovers with boys who weren’t too far from 7 makes that 50 year old a……
With his debt and the sure-to-come law suits over his will, many of us of a generation who were not influenced that much by MJ. I would respect his family more if his funeral were held as FF’s was. Even my own sons did not like his style of music, being more into the alternate music scene. MJ was an entertainer, and that is all.
I come from the Beatles / Rolling Stones / Beach Boys era. I would say the same of them. The MJ generation is always telling mine to get over ouselves and move on. I think there is a younger generation that is also way too much into themselves.
The many in the MJ generation that you refer to are in their 50s.
Dry up, troll. Michael Jackson was an entertainer and nothing more. Well, his lifestyle was just a bit off, wouldn’t you say? Why am I asking a troll a question? Never mind.
The 24/7 Michael Jackson coverage makes NO sense. What is the media NOT covering while they are busy wasting our time? He was a great artist, but this is just ridiculous. I don’t even bother to turn on my TV.
Thank you Sarah. Once more you’ve come to save the day!
ANM, Michael Jackson’s life was a circus so it’s appropriate his death would be also. If there is one sane person in his family who doesn’t crave the spotlight, I’ve seen no evidence of it.
There is no doubt he had talent, but he had no faith in what he had or he wouldn’t have felt compelled to become a clown and drug abuser. Watch while his family fights over his estate and his (?) children.
Great move on the part of Governor Palin. She will be lambasted by Democrats and the left, but so what? She is always treated shabbily by them, just as they treated Hillary Clinton. Screw them. Palin has always been a maverick, and has always done things on HER terms, and this move is no exception. The “pundits” mean nothing. Let them bray all they want. They are irrelevant. The only thing that matters is the voters getting behind Palin and rooting out this cancer that is destroying this country, namely Barack Obama, the mainstream media, and all his sycophants.
Governor Palin, great move. We are behind you 100%.
It’s a great move for her to quit her job early? What kind of alternate reality do you live in? Palin is quitting early because of some kind of scandal. Wait for it.
It is a great move on Palin’s part. By the way, keep braying. You and the other misogynist Obama supporters are so predictable. First Clinton, now Palin. You just hate any strong woman that challenges your precious Messiah.
Obama is a douchebag, unfit for the office of the presidency. Hopefully he will be exposed as the fraud that he indeed is, and you and all the other Obama worshippers can go back to Chicago–or better, yet, back to Kenya where he will likely be banished-when he’s kicked out on his ear.
Life is grand, ain’t it?
By the way, one thing I heard that is intriguing is this. Perhaps Palin knows that something is cooking with regard to Obama’s ineligibility to be POTUS, and with the election being fraudulent, Biden would not become President. Instead, the person with the second number of votes and his VP candidate, namely McCain and Palin would take over as President and Vice President. Also, without the baggage of a government position Palin is now free to tell it like it is, including anything she knows about Obama. I am looking forward to some great revelations about the Fraud in Command in the days to come.
I think that Obama will be forced to bail out California and the public backlash will be enormous. No one wants to bail out another state, and once it is done for one state all others will follow. Palin will be free to speak out against Obama throughout the lower 48 without harming Alaska and gather support for her presidency.
You can’t force the willing. He just wants them to grovel at his feet for a bit more… then the welfare gravy train can save the day once again. What a great society.
This is what crazy sounds like.
Try not to talk to yourself outloud if you don’t want to hear crazy, girl!
The trainwreck that is 0bama is about to leave the tracks … have you noticed his poll numbers? Not so much lovin’ on Mitchy and the girls? Where’d the dog go? Koolaid stock is falling through the floor.
Gotta love it!
gianni: Don’t know who’s circulating that story, but I doubt it very much. Even if he did resign, another Dem would succeed him.
Holy cow! Do you really believe the stuff you type? It’s just unbelievable how disconnected from reality this biz is. Just flat out unbelievable. HOLY. COW. John McCain/Sarah Palin will never be President. GET OVER IT.
hahahahahahahahaha
Holy crap, you don’t actually believe that, right?
I think that Ani’s comments in her post hit the nail on the head. The constant charges being filed against her and the huge legal bills — that alone would give most people pause. And it had to be extremely hard on her family. Then there was the effect it had on her job, trying to govern the state while having to spend countless hours addressing every accusation, providing paperwork and e-mails to counter the charges, and on and on.
The lieutenant governor will be able to step into the governorship and do the state’s work without the baggage that Sarah’s political opponents were saddling her with.
It was quite something to see the hatchet job being done on her on MSNBC. They were calling her a quitter and saying her political career was finished.
As we all know — don’t we — people will think what they want to think about her decision, and those who already condemned her will use this as yet one more reason to defame her.
Fox just showed another clip of her speaking — I don’t know its date — but she said that she and Todd were facing $500,000 in legal fees. Wow. And she pointed out that the people filing the accusations were able to do so without it costing them a penny.
If it’s Democrats filing those constant complaints, they should stop and think for a moment about what Bill and Hillary Clinton, most of their friends and most of their staff members had to go through in the 1990s. Every staff member had to hire an attorney, and incurred huge legal bills.
There’s a section of Sidney Blumenthal’s Clinton book about a false accusation made against him by Matt Drudge, just as Blumenthal began his job for the Clinton administration. Drudge published an allegation that Blumenthal had physically assaulted his wife. Blumenthal sued Drudge but at some point (I forget the exact timing), Blumenthal had to give up the lawsuit because the attorneys’ fees cost him a small fortune and Drudge apparently had deeper pockets. (I do recall that, in time, Blumenthal was able to get Drudge to file a retraction on his Web site, but I don’t think Blumenthal ever got any money out of Drudge … I don’t have the book handy or I’d check.)
gianni– ANM can always be counted on for a laugh (see above comment) because he’s like 1000x wittier than, say, Rob. Gibbs.
Omigosh and with the summer break, he’ll be here like all the time.
God Bless, Portia Elizabeth. Very well said. I agree 100%. with your opinion. I’m happy that Sarah, choose to resign, than to be part of a Government and a President disastrous way of governing. I’m more convinsed, now than ever, 0bama dos NOT love America and specially the American people.
Obama loves Obama. Period.
I don’t hate Clinton. I would have gladly supported her in the general election. Comparing Palin to Clinton is an insult and actually quite sexist. Why is she similar? Because they are both women? Give me a break. One (Clinton) is an intelligent informed liberal woman and the other (Palin) is a stupid ignorant conservative woman. The only similarity between the two is their sex. Personally I don’t judge people by their sex like you apparently do, I judge them by their intelligence and their knowledge.
Lying prick. All the Obot sexists make that claim now. Crawl under a rock.
Nonsense! Most Obama supporters would have voted for Clinton if she were the Dem. nominee. 95% I bet. The other 5% wouldn’t have voted for McCain, they just wouldn’t have bothered. I think that’s the strength of Obama, he brought out some people who wouldn’t have bothered otherwise. But most likely the Democratic party was winning in 2008 regardless of who their nominee was because of George W. Bush who destroyed the Republican party.
He brought out those who wouldn’t have bothered voting otherwise? I see, like maybe the ones here in Ohio who were able to use a park bench as an address? Right, now I understand your logic. Geeeezz
Yes, the scandal that awaits is that she does her own housework — imagine that!
No… I think it’s going to have to be a bit more serious than that for her to quit her job as Gov. because of it: http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7280
I wish Sarah Palin and family would sue all you people for the smut you’ve been peddling.
Why don’t you go back under the rock you crawled from under?
I’m stunned and excited about this news! She’s going for it and there are those on the Left and Right who will try to tear her down. But this is a strong, tough woman who’s a quick study, and anyone who underestimates her does so at their peril.
She’s not the theocrat her detractors on the Left try to make her out to be, and even though I don’t share her POV 100%, I can say the same about ANY politician.
Talk about Fourth of July fireworks…
Is she going to be working with industry in implementing the gas pipeline from the North Slope? (Just wondering out loud)
It is my fervent hope… that she is talking about a third party. Tomorrow would be a perfect time to declare Independence for us all. The democrats and republicans both ought to fear Palin as they should be fearful of all of us. This is our country.
I would agree with that. She has NO CHANCE in the Republican party. They will shred her. But when she said she would support Republicans, Democrats, or something like “I don’t care what party they are in,” that was my first thought.
The republicans have already settled on Romney and the way is being made for him. They mean to spend the next three years selling him as the “real one”. But he is just another corporate tool.
If they have settled on Romney then they are happy with a 0bama third term.
I won’t cross the line to vote for the undertaker like I did for McCain. I will vote third party if they try to run Romney.
Romney is trailing far behind Palin in the Republican polls.
Maybe what I was hearing in that speech from Palin yesterday was wishful thinking–but reading between the lines I see another plan in store. The Obamabots love to hate Palin, yet she draws crowds in droves. Wherever she goes, whatever she says will be shouted from rooftops. I think Sarah felt a need to come out swinging against the direction the country is heading. We’re spending against our future, our liberties are being taken away in incremental steps. We are being far led astray by someone who doesn’t want to “meddle” with Iran’s dictators who kill their own people but defends Honduras’ ousted President–in agreement with Castro and Chavez. No, I’m hoping Palin will take up that mantle.
Maybe Palin will show her childs birth certificate while publicly asking that the President does the same. One could only hope.
There’s one thing you have to say about Palin–she is not your conventional politician. It’s part of her draw and appeal to many people. I heard this before I stepped out, then came back and the cable shows were all a-twitter.
It’ll be interesting to see what she does from here on. The columnists’ comments go from “this is political suicide” to “this is the first volley for a presidential bid.” But if it’s the latter, I can only imagine the charge of her “quitting,” not being able to take the heat, regardless of how dispicable the attacks have been.
Krauthammer made some thoughtful and I thought sensible comments about Palin last night. There’s no doubting her appeal but to be a serious contender in national politics, she has to demonstrate an articulate, informed knowledge base on nitty-gritty policy issues. Think about HRC’s grasp of the issues; there is no comparison between the two women.
Krauthammer remarked [honestly, without vindictiveness, I think] that Palin simply cannot rely on cliches and/or platitudes as she had in the past. Her real strength is in energy issues. But she needs to be as strong across the board.
So, what do I think? That Palin has proven herself remarkably independent, thinking outside the box. Whatever, she does we’ll all be watching and waiting.
What a great advisor Krauthammer would be for her!
He would, indeed, Annie. Whether you agree politically with Krauthammer or not, he’s an intellectual powerhouse with the ability to articulate complex policy issues in understandable terms.
Even when I disagree with his stance, I admire the man’s verbal skills and his precise arguments.
He would be a mentor like no other.
The only point on which I disagree with him is the timing for her run. He says not until 2020. That would make sense in conventional politics but she’s not that. But, you are so right about the mentoring aspect for articulating policy, etc.
But, if she starts a third party… then stepping aside seems prudent as she wasn’t elected as a third party candidate. I am betting on Sarah.
Yes. A third party. Someone needs to start a third party. The people who will donate and enlist are not going to be listening to MSNBC or NY Times or Washington Post, etc ad nauseum commentators or editorial writers. Where do I donate?
Sarah said they can effect positive change outside of “government”. She didn’t say outside of “politics”. I can’t imagine anything sending those Obama puppeteers into a bigger frenzy….except maybe World War III, which they may have to generate to keep their hold on power.
Maybe she resigned today so she can attend a tea party tomorrow???
I’ll be at one!
Peggy Sue,
I heard Krauthammer’s comments last night as well and thought he made great points, very objectively. I think he also gave her the benefit of the doubt that she is capable of following his prescription.

Do you have a link to Krauthammer’s comments?

I will be watching with interest what the governor chooses to do next.
I cant say I blame her, the constant vicious attacks against her and her family, kids included, from foaming at the mouth progressives could make it difficult to plan her next move. Maybe she needs to get out of the public sphere for a few months.
Huffpo is implying there is some big scandal on the horizon but of course its all speculation based on the infamous “unnamed sources close to the governor”.
Certainly in their wildest dreams…guess we’ll have to wait and see. If there is anything out there, believe me we’ll hear right away from their gleeful, drooling and vile sycophants.
Another spam gobble!! I sent a note to the Spam Gods. Appreciate it if the post could be retrieved. The Spam monster doesn’t like me today.:0(
Thanx
I was glad to hear Gov. Palin say she wouldn’t waste state time and money–millions of dollars–defending the frivolous ethics lawsuits.
I hope Sarah continues to learn and grow. She could make energy–the gas pipeline–her topic of expertise while she studies tne other issues and travels around the country.
Whatever she does, I hope the pig media will leave her children alone now.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, SARAH!
Palin needs to start her own third party–by 2010 next year, after the stimulus money has been given to ACORN and unemployemnt is up to 12-13% more than half the people in this country will reject the Repubs and the Dems that put us in this mess–Go Sarah.
Using a sports metaphor, especially basketball, an athletic pursuit in which she excelled in school, illustrates why this woman is such a threat to so many men: she beats them at their own game.
What to think….well, could very well be that a sector in the Rep. party has been a nest of busy, little bees – meeting, planning, strategizing. Wasn’t money man Romney in the news last week….I see dots, but can’t connect them.
Memo to Larry Johnson….
The biggest story in America today – BHO’s plan to destroy capitalism and reward his cronies to keep him in office. I was shocked but not surprised that Governor Palin resigned early. The vicious attacks were not only against her but her family. The schoolyard bullies of American politics and journalism have won for the day. What does it all mean?
Larry, I want my country back. It seems as if, we need protection from the policies of our own government. What good is it to have a mortgage protection program if no one has secure employment? Why would any business hire, when the US government under Obama’s reign can overthrow laws and decide that CEOs, corporations, and salaries can be decided by government officials? This is nuts! We deserve the government we get. I believe that the US is currently under a McCarthy like cult with Obama at the helm.
Palin symbolized the hope of good, decent, hardworking Americans. They aren’t asking for handouts. When we have someone as talented and gifted as Palin driven out of office, we have to demand accountablity from BHO and the Dems instead of accepting the politics of corruption, censorship, and cronyism. Impeach Obama…Impeach Obama….Impeach Obama!!!!!!
I was so sad to hear this news, although I understand perfectly her reason for this decision. The horrible remarks made about her children just made me sick and I can’t imagine how her kids felt when they read some of the hateful things that were being said about their mother, or when they saw the hateful photo-shopped pics of her. This is our new Democratic Party…the Party of Sleazy Misogynists.
I imagine she will do her best to raise money for the Republican party and I wish her success and peace for the rest of her days.
Mark Levin has some interesting points:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q23VttPkCo
I don’t think she is going away. But I do think the assholes attacking her have created an environment where she was no longer able to perform her job. She was consumed with defending herself from frivilous lawsuits, and attacks.
And she at least got the media talking about something other than Michael Jackson….
I agreed with everything Levin said. I, too, believe that there has been hired guns sent out from the WH and DNC to keep her bogged down with so called ethics violations. She needs time to get it all coordinated.
Make that “have been”.
Annie: exactly what the Republicans did to the Clintons. Nothing new under the sun.
Hello American Girl,
Thank you for the Levin piece. I had missed the first 10 minutes today and here it was….
Happy 4th to you Patriot!
Happy Independence Day to everyone. And happy In Depends Day to Sen. Patrick Leahy and all of the other politicians that are incontinent with our tax dollars.
Oh no…my comment must have ended up in spam.
Just wanted to say that I understand why Sarah did what she did and wish her peace and success in whatever she does in the future. The Republican Party, IMO, did her no favors and John McCain should be horse-whipped for the lack of support he gave her considering all she did for his losing campaign. Every time Sarah spoke, she drew crowds of cheers as opposed to every time McCain spoke and drew sounds of snoring.
Palin is such an obvious joke. Completely out of touch with the majority in this country, spouting nonsense every chance she gets and a decidedly bad moral example.
She embarrassed Alaska, John McCain, (but who really cares), and this country.
She’s headed for litigation hell and deservedly so.
Good riddance!
This country should be embarrassed alright, but not because of Palin. Any time bowing boo boo Barry opens his pie hole, all Americans are shamed!
Nonsense. Just you loons. Most Americans are proud of our President. The rest of the world respects America against because of Obama. Get out of your crazy little hole and look at the big picture.
Damned near no one is proud of that asshat. Get your head out of Obama’s ass and look around.
Most of Germany was proud of Adolph. And it was the “go with the popular flow” boneheads like you annoying mouse that invited through profound stupidity the minor irritation of a world at war.
You may be proud of Obama, that’s YOUR problem. But when enough of you have abandoned reason and fact, it becomes OUR problem, and we’ll have to reluctantly pull you to safety as we would a drunk passed out on the railroad tracks. It would be irresponsible to allow a mindless drunk to possibly endanger the passengers of the train.
As for Obama, the only difference between him and a sack of cat shit is the sack. I prefer to remain ahead of the curve in my assessment of him, and I look forward to the pride I’ll feel when telling my grandkids that I never once faltered in my well founded belief that Obama would become one of the most reviled figures in human history. And you can take some pride in your contribution to that eventuality mouse, it’s certainly not an achievement that Obama can accomplish without his army of ass kissing sycophants elevating him. You and your pals will soon tire though from the strain of holding a worthless man-child aloft with your tongues, and you’ll have to drop him. And then as is usually the case, you’ll ask ever so sweetly for the rest of us to clean up the mess you’ve created. Hopefully, I’ll have moved to Galts Gulch by then.
Aw. You played the “Hitler card.” You lose.
I much rather use the Jim Jones card for people like you. It’s more fitting.
Why do I lose mouse? I’m referring to the mid 1930’s Hitler that was admired around the world and hosted the 1936 Olympics. Nobody alive then had our current image of him, how could they? He was loved by the vast majority of Germans because they were so blinded by hope and change (like you) that they weren’t able to recognize that they were following a Narcissistic maniac over a cliff. My reference to Hitler is a well founded warning that history often repeats itself, especially when fools like you have no understanding of it.
Wow…you called out Obama and his sycophants for exactly what they are–and did it so eloquently! If you haven’t written a book yet, you should consider it.
Keep telling yourself that, because that is not what I hear on a daily basis. But if it makes you sleep better, then go ahead and be delusional. It wouldn’t be the first time you guys were delusional for the “hopey, changey” usurper.
Democrat talking points, old, tired and obsolete…yawn…
Now where is the loony left going to get another boogieman to rail against? Boogieman Bush has played out. Palin just castled her king. Let’s see what the left spin machine can do with that. How do you fight somebody who has nothing to lose and everything to gain? You can’t. It is the lesson of Afghanistan, it will be the lesson of this as well.
Wow, is that ever a brilliant point. She has just officially removed herself from the equation. Nature abhors a vacuum — who will the hatemongers go after next?
It is also true that after six months of the new administration being in office, the clock is fast winding down on continuing to blame George Bush.
I think they will continue their relentless smear campaign. After all, what they’re offering is falling flat and losing momentum by the day. So they focus on trying to distract from their losing policies to turn up the volume on hate Palin and her family. Good thing she doesn’t have a “little dog too”.
The bashing of Dan Quayle lasted for years after he left the scene, and that was mostly for harmless but amusing verbal gaffes. Where’s Joe’s public humiliation?
The left and MSM (one and the same) have spent a fortune in political capital building up the strawman(woman) Sarah Palin. Before our horrified eyes they took a sincere, hardworking, popular, all American woman and ruthlessly dragged her through the sewer for the audacity of being chosen as a VP candidate for the GOP. The trashing of Palin will continue on it’s own momentum, it would be too difficult for her imbecile detractors to give up what has always been a humiliation campaign without an origional foundation. There wasn’t any real substance behind the criticism in the first place, why will it stop now? Pinheads like Letterman aren’t creative enough to find worthy targets for ridicule, it’s far easier to keep Palin as the butt of their sophomoric jokes.
The disgusting Heather Mallick column set the tone for the Palin attacks, because Mallick immediatly brought the whole Palin Family under the knife, and an army of criminal minds followed suit, and haven’t let up.
Palin weathered the rhetorical assault better than anyone that has been subjected to similar public mistreatment, but the cowards that fear her have started to take her down with expensive and spurious litigation. The ongoing attacks have taken too great of a toll on her family. In the recent history of politics, the sadistic treatment of Sarah and her family may be one of the blackest stains on this country. The nasty mob of cretins like Teewanna Max that are responsible for this national disgrace, deserve the most severe contempt imaginable, as spitting on them would devalue a good loogie if it touches them.
You want to talk embarrassing? How about Al “Smiley” Franken? No experience, not qualified, and not even very smart…just like the other unqualified fraud.
Al Franken attended Harvard College and graduated cum laude.
Harvard is a place where rich kids get in and once they are in they don’t fail. To fail would mean that Harvard doesn’t select the best of the best. So the institution self validates by pushing these spoiled brats through and awarding them a certificate of their imparted greatness.
Sure. That’s exactly what happens. Yes, really. You’re really on to something there. It’s all a big conspiracy. Harvard’s not a good school. Yes, you’re so right!
What I am saying is the student there are no greater than the students at any other public university. The requirements to get in are harder, but that can be remedied with money. I didn’t say it wasn’t a good school, I am saying a Harvard degree is a brand name more than a product.
The requirements to get in are a LOT harder. The Median SAT is 1495 for God’s sake. I think maybe 1 kid in my whole HS got an SAT that high. That’s REALLY high. And that’s just the median score.
And what proof do you have that Franken was rich? I looked up his bio – I see no reason to believe that. And even legacy admissions are only 30% accepted.
Well then that’s just sad. Of course, it’s the Harvard Business School grads who have primarily gotten us into the financial debacle we’re in now so I wouldn’t give much thought about the comedian and how smart he is.
RE Harvard Students “The median score on the SAT I was 1495 out of 1600 for the class of 2009.”
1495. Median. You don’t get into Harvard unless you’re a smart person. And I don’t believe Al Franken was a rich boy or the son of any powerful man. He got in because of good greats and exceptional test scores.
So while you are nutters are saying this obviously intelligent dude (who is extremely knowledgeable on the issues) isn’t that smart you are simultaneously praising Sarah Palin? Just … WTF?
You think rich kids don’t get prepped for the SAT tests and that they don’t get pretty much the same test questions spoon fed them in prep classes? I went to school with a whole bunch of now “doctors”. Some of the smartest test takers were the dumbest doctors because they lacked common sense and the ability to critically think things through. They sometimes had photographic memories and could tell you the first word at the top of page 100 of a certain book. Ask them something that couldn’t be memorized and that had to be thought through, and the lowest test taker in the class ran circles around them a lot of the time.
Al Franken may be underqualified, but he’s not under investigation for corruption like Norm Coleman, nor does he carry water for Dick Cheney.
Teewanna your the joke…..Get over it a woman can be as strong and stronger than a kool aid drinker…
Yep, Sarah just upped the ante.
The talking heads are going “oooooo, it’s a huge risk”. As if that’s a problem. If it were a man, taking a risk would be portrayed as brave and smart.
teewanna max said:
Oh really? And how precisely so?
teewanna–you seem very young. To you a year probably seems like a long time. But in a year even you will see who the real joke is and who’s really in touch with the majority of voters. Be sure to check back so we can say ITYS. ‘kay?
teewanna: No more obvious than Obama. At least Sarah Palin was a self-made woman who paid for her own education and had actual political experience. That’s why the Obamabites were so afraid of her; she’s way more qualified than Obambi and no one is pulling her strings behind the curtain.
teewana; As in south of the border?
The fact that I disagree with many of Gov. Palin’s positions and probably not as many as I suspect, makes want to vote for her more when I hear your jaw flapping ignorant bullshit.
You talk of morals? What would you know about them?
You voted for an immoral, indifferent human to be POTUS who thinks throughing late term abortion babies in the trash is just fine. When are you gonna get that being BO’s call girl will give you STD’s? (The last leter stands for Democrat, fill in the rest!)
Deal with it and go vibrate BO’s cell phone. He won’t answer but he will enjoy getting off on your dime. Not mine.
LMAO. An excellent retort to an obviously paid locust.
I thought it was a dung beetle, not a locust. Oh, I forgot, dung beetles do something useful …
Sarah Palin is a true servant leader; we need her so bad. She chooses to make this announcement on a holiday weekend so that she does not attract attention to herself; she is selfless. The more I grow in this life the more I see how everything on this planet is the reverse of what it seems. A very dark force is portrayed as the Light/Messiah; a true light is portrayed as dark. I am hoping Palin runs for POTUS; I will work my butt off for her. I see no hope of a female president ever taking place in this country if she does not. We (women) are dead in the water and this person teewanna max in the blog above this is an example why.
Dear PUMA FOR LIFE, I think you missed reading whi is in Michelle the ” empress” hit list. There were 3 people, Rush, Oprah and Sarah. You are looking for a women president? you get it. MICHELLE OBAMA, wants to be the first black women president. She will be, when the clock will run backward.
I think that’s exactly where she’s going. It was so important to take out Hillary, who broke ground as the first ex-First Lady to run for president, so M0 can steal the prize. Ohhhh, doubly historic! Can’t you just hear it?
That would be disastrous for this country. She is just as bad, if not worse, than he is. She blatantly dislikes this country and will finish it off is B0 leaves any parts intact.
We need real Americans in office, not America haters.
Palin said she would support people with the right qualities, regardless of party. And she didn’t thank the repub party. I’m hoping she plans to go independent or start a viable third party. I was a lifelong Dem, and I hate both lying parties now.
You betcha. Same here, life long Dem and at this point I say a pox on both their houses.
Don’t listen to the media
LISTEN TO HER
LISTEN HER SPEECH
http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2009/07/palin-resigning-as-alaska-governor.html
GOD BLESS SARAH PALIN
Oh I listened alright. What a bunch of indecipherable crap! She’s an absolute looooon!
She’s like hamburger helper; mash all that garbage together and then wonder why you wanted it in the first place.
She’s got zero future in national politics. Forget her already, like the rest of the country has.
We anticipated you and your clones would show up after Palin’s announcement. You’ve earned your $8.00. We’re properly amused. Now go play your video games.
OMG! The bots are out in force.
Funny how Sarah scares the begeezus out of them!!! They are so stupid that they think, in their little tween minds, Sarah is gone-yippee, skippy. We won. We won. Then the messiahboss called and said, “MY SERVENTS. I NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN. GO OUT AND GET IN THEIR FACES! WHILE YOU ARE CELEBRATING, YOUR RULER IS AFRAID OF THE EVILDOER PALIN. WE KNOW NOT WHAT SHE IS DOING. IT COULD BE A TRICK!GET IN THEIR FACES! HIT THE BLOGS!”
Dumbazzes!
Do you really think it works like that? Seriously?
It doesn’t. I’m not being paid by Obama anymore than you’re being paid by … Sarah Palin? I’ve never heard of any sort of program for people to be paid to do blog comments… or even being encouraged to do that by the Obama people. On the other hand I do remember the McCain/Palin campaign putting together some sort of effort where you could get paid for posting comments. That’s what makes this particular fantasy deliciously ironic.
No, Sarah doesn’t pay me and just for you, I’m going to donate to her PAC in your name! Thanks for being my inspiration! Plus, I am going to make another donation to the group who have indicted Obama on the eligibility issue. Thanks again!
Good. As long as you are wasting your money on BS like that you can’t give it to any Republicans with a real shot of winning anything.
Oh I listened alright. but did not hear a thing.
In my view, regardless of what I think about her positons, it is quite clear that an originized effort is in play to Obstruct the Office of the Governor of Alaska in the person Of Gov. Palin.
If you are of the position that her future is zero in politics and compare a woman to a piece of meat, you are a sick person and relective of the sad sacks that voted for “The One”.
This not about Palin for the most part fool. And as Senator Byrd so often has said “Hear me…Hear ME NOW!”
The rest of the country has not and WILL NOT “forget her”.
Hamburgerhelper? Geez! It’s Mooseburger IGIT.
Then why are you so scared of her? ONe thing I am sure about is that Obama supporters are loons and should we get him out of office, i’m going to see can we have some of your behinds commited.
Did you actually read her resignation letter? It’s hilariously bad. Check it out: http://gov.state.ak.us/
She comes across as really juvenile and somehow even stupider than she does when she’s speaking.
stupider
Unlike Obama she doesn’t rely on speech writers or a teleprompter. Her speech is quite good and without the interminable “uhs” and detachment that plague BO’s speaking.
Right. This juvenile speech that sounds like a 4th grader wrote it is more impressive than President Obama’s. Riiiiiight! HA!
Yes, her speech is poor, but the comparison isn’t valid: BHO doesn’t write right his own speeches: cardboard titty groping Favreau does.
That isn’t a recommendation.
rightthere is lots more to this story.
Obama must be worry!! Let’s hope she is on her way to Hawaii to get a copy of his long birth certificate LOL.
On a serious note, do not underestimate Palin. I feel she is paving the way to 2012. Go Sarah!!!!
Let’s not forget, barack hussein obama, a junior senator, campaigning on his senator salary accomplishing very little, voting present. Pretty much as he is doing now.
Palin has accomplished more than Junior Obama.
GO PALIN!!!!!!!!!!!
The nuttery is overwhelming. It’s just overwhelming. There’s no way to respond to any of this. But if you honestly think Sarah Palin will ever be President of the United States then you are seriously delusional and should seek some sort of help.
Why would she want to be governor of AK, when she can travel about and garner grass root support for a third party? She represents a form of republicanism which is for the most part dead because the party has abandoned it. She can rejuvenate it because the support for it is still there. Palin has changed the game. Obama mastered the game and Palin has changed the game. How about Palin the reformer vs. Romney the tool vs. Obama the tool in 2012? Play those numbers around.
It’d go something like this Obama 50%, Romney 30%, Palin 20%
Romney has absolutely no charisma & he has already shown that he cannot get widespread support, maybe because voters didn’t want a mormon or maybe just because he’s made out of wood.
RNC needs a placeholder for Jeb: Palin will do nicely if she can shake the embezzlement charges, and if Coleman is still walking around free, it seems likely enough she will. crap, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her get the Ted Stevens deal of charges only for not reporting gifts rather than actually be charged with embezzlement.
I don’t think Romney is a strong candidate but I also think he’s the current GOP frontrunner for 2012. Of course considering how far off the primaries are – that doesn’t mean much. I have a really hard time imagining any of the current crop of Republicans beating Obama – but a lot can happen. If things go really poorly then perhaps even a candidate as weak as Romney could beat him. For the most part I think 2012 is Obama’s to lose, whatever clown the GOP throws up there probably won’t make that much difference.
Let’s see, we have a POTUS of questionable background with no verifiable history, no academic record, and a distinct inability to put two words together coherently. Gee, little turd, Sarah a verifiable background plus she has executive experience, which your hero hasn’t.
With a gene pool as shallow as yours apparently is, I expect you to be a future recipient of the Darwin Award. And as for delusional, you prove your psychotic break with reality every time you come here to post. No one gives a shit what you think; no one here has anything but contempt for your constant braying about That One’s and using his talking points; and no one here is a abysmally stupid as you are. You are quite insane if you think another day of your incessant droning is going to change anyone’s minds here. Go peddle that pre-packaged, pre-fabricated pablum somewhere else, drip.
This is enjoyable-you write it soooo well.
The Bots no longer have arguments “for” Obama or his policies since he reneged on every campaign promise. All that remains for them now is a platform of sheer negativity, i.e. attacking anyone who disagrees or poses a threat to their Precious. It’s all about what they’re against, with no articulation of what their for.
buh buh but he’s not going to raise taxes unless you make over $250,000!
LOL! This argument too is proving to be false. His Cap and Trade Bill is the trojan tax bill anyway.
heh, what a series of lies. “No academic record” — you know, other than Summa Cum Laude from Harvard Law School. Finishing in the top 10% of your class at a top 2 or 3 law school? Yeaaaaa, that’s “no” record.
“Questionable background” — questioned only by the conspiracy theories.
Did you see his credencials? teh Cuma-shit law desree? When you see it, come back and show as too. For this moment , the big 0 is a liar , Go ask his Chicago past with Larry S.
It’s a fact, Lisa, no matter how much you want to deny it.
And if you believe Larry S., well then, I laugh at you. Career criminal with deceit-related convictions for decades. Yeaaaaah, that’s a credible source.
Seriously, I LOVE this site sometimes. You guys hate Obama SO MUCH, you’ll deny even small truths. So weird.
Quit, someone try to convince me about all the people murdered by Obama in order to cover up his criminal/gay/Muslim background!
You have no proof of any of this, Slimeball Wizard. When I’m shown certified copies of his transcripts, I’ll believe it. You have no facts, just hearsay and urban legend. In case you weren’t aware, going to an Ivy League school only guarantees you will fork over a lot of money, which he didn’t anyway because he it was paid for him.
You know nothing and say even less. Dry up, you cultish boor.
hahahahahaha so funny.
No one has ever challenged this basic fact about his academic success. Good to know, though, that a random internet person won’t believe it until he personally inspects certified copies!
I know your wishful thinking makes you really really hope that this is all a fabrication, but reality dictates otherwise.
You’re amusing, Fred.
Bullshit…he was offered a clean $one million for his Columbia transcripts from the president of his graduating class, same year, who also graduated with a degree in polisci…just NOBODY remembers him ever going to any classes there at all
AND
he won’t even release his Occidental admissions records which witnesses state show he went as a foreign student on grants
AND he has not shown any transcripts from Harvard and was the only editor to never publish anything
Obama has ZERO scholarly works to his name, his entire focus was Alinsky destruction of America.
Look the guy does not know how many states there are, nor who liberated Auschwitz, nor where the great lakes are, and he said Truman was a great peace negotiator…now we don’t need any more proof that he is ignorant of the very subject matter he professed to get a degree in…
never mind being any expert on the law, for example he just broke his own law firing inspector Walpin, OR the Constitution which he violates as fraud president, he admitted he was born with British citizenship which disqualifies him as a natural born citizen..taking over businesses, insurance companies, banks, he violates the Constitution on a daily basis
If I may just insert a word here, Slim and Ferd? At Harvard, Summa is not awarded on academic achievement. It comes at the recommendation of professors in the area of concentration and it has never been claimed he graduated Summa which is the highest honor, but Magna.
In November,2005, Harvard changed it’s standard for Latin honors because 90% of the students received them and the school believed they had lost any significance.
http://www.college.harvard.edu/academics/resources/honors_faqs.html
In additions, a dissertation is required to apply for honors and it would interesting to know what has happened to Obama’s since his Columbia thesis seems to have vanished.
The NYT published an article on 2/5/90 about Obama’s appointment as Editor of the Law Review.
http://www.nytimes.com/1990/02/06/us/first-black-elected-to-head-harvard-s-law-review.html
“Until the 1970’s the editors were picked on the basis of grades, and the president of the Law Review was the student with the highest academic rank. Among these were Elliot L. Richardson, the former Attorney General, and Irwin Griswold, a dean of the Harvard Law School and Solicitor General under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard M. Nixon.
That system came under attack in the 1970’s and was replaced by a program in which about half the editors are chosen for their grades and the other half are chosen by fellow students after a special writing competition. The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review.”
So here is the truth Mr. Slim. Obama was admitted to Harvard Law during the years the school was trying to increase it’s quota of minorities. He was chosen as Editor for the same reason. There has never been an Editor who graduated without honors and Harvard wasn’t going to allow it’s first black Editor to do so, but they did not give him highest honors.
There is no evidence what-so-ever he received any invitation to clerk for a judge (which is also considered an honor and is always sent to Editors).
Where is the evidence he has ever had an Intelligence Equivalency Test or a record of his scores? Out of his own mouth, there have been countless verified lies so why would anyone believe anything other than his whole life has been a fabrication.
People who have good common sense always want information about a president verified and expect a straight forward answer to questions. I’m afraid you are the fool here, Slim
Correction: Should be “Intelligence Quotient” test.
Links to his record, boy. Let’s have them.
Heh, “boy”.
For you, “boy” may be a little too complimentary.
aw, now don’t my feelings
C’mon, jwrjr, how about you share your Obama conspiracy theories?
Excuse me, what I really meant was, “Links to his record, boy blunder”.
Heh, sources all the way from Encyclopedia Britannica to World Net Daily acknowledge this basic fact (google is your friend). I’m sorry that you, as random internet person, are not satisfied with this accepted reality.
That is still only hearsay and urban legend. Where are the records, dink? You don’t have them because That One won’t release them. No evidence anywhere that he has done anything of merit.
You must have the evidence prior to making any assertions about his stellar academic record, child. Links to sites that claim he did such and such do not constitute evidence. Are you terminally stupid?
Only in your world. Try getting a real job on “accepted reality”. Oh, you already have–at McDonald’s, which we discussed earlier.
Good Day, Little Man.
You clearly don’t know what “hearsay” and “urban legend” mean. Awesome again.
Go look up this fact in Encyclopedia Brittanica. Consult Obama-haters World Net Daily. Check everything on Google. Literally, you have NO PROOF to back up this extraordinary claim of yours.
He has a stellar academic record. Top 10% at Harvard Law School? I mean, seriously, that’s balls-out good.
Your name calling and insults seems to increase the worse your arguments get. Intriguing.
You’re sounding like a twit because you’re unable to answer the questions. Running around playing Cat and Mouse games will only work for so long, just like Obama’s charisma and both have run their course. When you point your fingers at Ferd, just remember you have three more pointed back at you for the unanswered questions you and he refuses to answer. As more people begin asking these questions and they are. In case you hadn’t heard his approval ratings are tanking, far too many lies that are catching up to him. Broken Campaign Promises. There will be no place left to hide. Then the majority will be asking these questions and demanding answers. If they’re not given them they’ll be demanding an impeachment hearing to get them. Then whatever will you do?
keep smokin it slimmy briny
stop the I can’t do my homework fest!
Oh noes! Another random internet person is demanding certified copies of stuff!
Quick, someone get certified copies of Palin’s report cards from the five colleges she attended!
How about YOU do your homework, and find ANYTHING backing up the extraordinary claim that Obama did not graduate with honors from Harvard Law School.
Again, YOU’RE the one making the absurd, fact-free claim.
You are severely troubled and making up your own conspiracy theories. Again, take a few less tokes man and get some friends slimmy. Friends that actually might listen to you.
Stop the crack-a-lacking fest!
hahaha what conspiracy theories did I invent?
Why all the personal insults around here? You all are so touchy when someone calls out your absurd claims.
slimmy:
psst…. take another toke.. nice and deep…
Really, that’s the best you can do? Just plain weak.
Tyranny sounds like Gibbs, anything to divert and distract, even if it means he thinks he’s being amusing to no one else but himself. Too bad both the people and the press are beginning to wake up. The honeymoon will soon be completely over.
Thank you for adding a little bit of sanity to this insane place. The stuff these lunatics say about Obama is truly off the wall. Just flat out insane stuff.
I don’t think I’ll be changing anyone’s mind here – what’s important is that you folks represent an extremely small portion of the populace. It’s not about changing your minds it’s more about pointing and laughing at the insanity. Someone who talks up Sarah Palin while talking down Barack Obama cannot be taken seriously by any thinking individual.
Just stopped back to visit and scroll through all the comments. I am continually surprised by those who support Obama spending hours posting and reposting more and more comments, while insulting NQ and the readers. I found DailyKos useless and so never waste my time there. Likewise with HuffPo. I have better things to do.
I am so amazed anyone who finds this site so “unimportant” would spend so much time here. This makes no sense to me. What can possibly be the value to degrade those one thinks are “crazy” anyway. Surely those not possessed of logic, facts or intelligent points can be no threat whatsoever. Why bother.
Unfortunately, no Obama supporter has yet been able to answer that question effectively or honestly.
By the way, I have no wish for this administration to fail, but I will not sip koolaid and pretend everything is hunky dory when this man has reneged on his campaign promises and needs to be called on the carpet for his dishonesty, and bailing out Wall St. while saying to hell with Main St.
Ferd! I was wondering where you were! Thanks, you always hit the mark.
There’s no way to respond to any of this.
That is a first for you.
.
Stranger shit has happened. I don’t want to waste the good stuff until tomorrow eve, but do you know what just happened? Take the Governor out of the picture for a moment and consider what just happened to a sitting elected Governor of one of the “several states”.
Earlier Seattle Moss said an attack on her is an attack on me. Initially I didn’t agree but now I do.
Why?
Para mí es la Constitución de los Estados Unidos. ¿Qué parte de este ¿no entiendes?
Obama is President right now so… what exactly are you trying to say there?
As far as what just happened to a sitting Governor? She just QUIT! How is that something that happened to her? She just flat out QUIT. She’s a flaky loon who couldn’t handle being Governor of a tiny (population) state.
el no entiende nada, Teak. Su boda abre pero no dice nada.
Well, facing the reality of Palin’s political fortunes is a little depressing for her supporters. They seem happier staying upbeat no matter what.
This thread, by the way, did NOT disappoint. I’m working late tonight, but this is some amusing reading.
You’ll be facing the that “reality” soon, Obot, as your master comes to grips with the fact that only you bots really believe anything he says. That he is a cult leader and you are but a dime-a-dozen follower will dawn on you at some point, boy.
And Sarah Palin and her supporters will be the ones getting the last laugh.
I didn’t think McDonald’s let you teenagers play on the internet whle at work.
hahaha “last laugh”! Most of the country had plenty of laughs at Palin’s expense already, and the Democratic election win seemed like a nice, definitive “last laugh”, but hey, god bless your wishful thinking.
Keep it up, laughing boy–the joke is already on you as That One will do as he pleases, and it isn’t to please his followers or the Obamacratic party or you, but to please himself. And you boobs fell for it hook, line, and sinker. We tried to warn you about him, but instead of taking your lumps, you got right back in bed with the one who sold you out. What chumps you Obumblebots are. Wow, it doesn’t get any sadder than that.
heh, here’s hoping you get over that November loss soon. Quite the drama in your head.
You can deny your predicament all you wish, Slimeball, but it won’t change the truth in my statement. Your Messiah is false; his message is a lie; and you are a cult member no different than those who followed Jones, Applewhite, or Koresh.
He’s a democratically elected President, not a cult leader.
I mean, I know you WISH this was all a huge conspiracy involving an evil cult, but it’s not.
This is reality. In reality, Obama won an election, and now he’s implementing policy that is, for the most part, consistent with his electoral mandate.
You don’t like it, so rather than accept that reality, you want to pretend that there’s really SOOOOO much more drama going on.
Like I said, amusing.
What other conspiracy theories do you believe, Fred? Do you think Obama is a secret gay Muslim? Do you think he was really born in Africa? C’mon, share!
What conspiracies did I mention? You really are incapable of comprehending standard English. I said he isn’t the Messiah you envisioned; I said he lied and that you are a cult member. That is no conspiracy–that is a flimflam man named That One conning you into voting for him. The only conspiracy I see is bots like you continuing the con game and I didn’t mention that until now.
He was elected by cult members like you who swooned and continue to swoon at his every er, ah, uh, and um.
He was elected by cult members who said HRC had no qualifications for President but called anyone racist who questioned the nonexistent qualifications of their Anointed leader.
He was elected by cult members who believed That One would bring change, transparency, and a new politics to DC. That change is more of the same; transparency is continued opaqueness; and the new politics is the same old politics except the middle class is now being robbed to support those who won’t support themselves.
He was elected by cult members who don’t like racism but embrace misogyny at every opportunity.
These aren’t conspiracy theories, you half-baked half-wit. These represent reality. This is what has and is happening. Take a stroll outside Obumbleland and see for yourself.
Thinking Obama is a cult leader who faked his academic record is a conspiracy theory, Ferd.
Look, you can disagree with his policies and political approach, that’s fine. But denying basic facts and calling people who voted for him “cultists” is lunacy.
Come back to reality — you’re being overdramatic by a factor of 10.
You don’t think “yes we can” isn’t morphing into some humanistic religion? We have media people comparing him to Jesus and GOD. At what point when people love him so much that they think he is like GOD… at what point does that become a cult?
hahahahaha No, I don’t — and no one else does, either.
I mean, I get that you WISH this was true, but it’s just not.
hahahaha “humanistic religion”
You want to see a cult? Check out the “cult” of Ronald Reagan!
And no “Yes We Can” has nothing to do with religion. It’s a political slogan just like many similar slogans that have been used in political campaigns in the past.
I haven’t seen any “media people” comparing Obama to Jesus and God. You’ve probably seen a couple of comments you are taking out of context and then acting like it happens all the time.
You have built up a whole fantasy world that just flat out doesn’t exist.

http://briefingroom.thehill.com/2008/09/10/rep-cohen-compares-obama-to-jesus/ Rep. Cohen compares BHO to Jesus
there was a lot of religious mumbo jumbo in the election, comparisons of BHO with Jesus, and commentators commenting upon BHO being compared with Jesus ran nonstop;
and don’t forget:
“We have lost the understanding that in a democracy, we have a mutual obligation to one another — that we cannot measure the greatness of our society by the strongest and richest of us, but we have to measure our greatness by the least of these. That we have to compromise and sacrifice for one another in order to get things done. That is why I am here, because Barack Obama is the only person in this who understands that. That before we can work on the problems, we have to fix our souls. Our souls are broken in this nation.”
Mighty Spaminator has eaten my comment.
Most of us who voted for Obama didn’t vote for him because we thought he was a “messiah” – a lot of us aren’t religious in fact and don’t believe in crap like that. We voted for him because we thought he’d be a better President than the other guy (McCain.) And I think you’ll find very very few Obama voters who don’t still believe that.
This whole “the one” and “messiah” thing has nothing to do with what Obama supporters actually think. That was Republican propaganda that you’ve taken up as some sort of truth. It’s not.
Also: Get over it. You lost.
No, people voted for him to feel good about themselves. He is a manufactured and over advertised brand. Time will prove what he is. It is very early yet.
I think you must have learned English as a second language, from a bad teacher.
How goes it in your world?
Whatever her reasons may be, this pretty much sinks her chances in 2012. She will not have even served one full term as governor and her opponents will be able to paint her an unstable and unable to handle the heat.
I wish her well with her talk show or whatever she does next. She is a young woman and thus might be more seasoned come 2016 or 2020. But I believe this move really makes it even harder to take her seriously in 2012.
I don’t even know if in 2012 I would vote for her, have to wait and see what her platform will be, but I was just so mad at how she and her kids were treated.
And the attacks were so overwhelming that they consumed all of her time, making it impossible to function in her job. That is outrageous. She spent hundreds of thousands of her own money, and $2M of tax money defending all those frivilous lawsuits, and had to defend her children constantly.
I think stepping down could be a good thing. She did it for the good of her state – allowing it to be governed by someone who isn’t being attacked every day. She also said she did it for her kids, they couldn’t take it.
It will take a lot of hard work, and some clever moves to run, but she is a fighter….
Frankly, i don’t even know why she would want to serve the people of this country that treated her and her family so badly.
I agree with AG!
(I posted these thoughts earlier at confluence)
This really does free her…
I believe from the video, she is eyeing a run for prez in 2012. I have mixed feelings and cannot get too excited to support her candidacy yet, if that is the case. (even tho I voted McC/P in 2008, first republican vote I ever cast in 20 years of voting.)
But I really do admire her style. She doesn’t have to sit there and take the abuse, be under fire, etc. It’s a vast departure from Hillary’s style. I loved (still do, mostly, except when she speaks with the koolaid on her breath) that about Hillary, that she was so incredibly strong and had such amazing staying power, and could stay in the game even when the players had totally screwed her over. But in the end….it didn’t take Hillary where she wanted to be. I realize this comparison is uber-simplistic and might offend some folks… it isn’t meant to undercut Hill’s profoundly amaing career, or her choices. But just sayin. I admire the mavrick-y moves.
The misogynists are about to turn the volume up to 11. They will be outraged that she has the audacity to take the bull by the horns. Watch out, here it comes.
It made her another politician to go along just to get along. The comparisons between her and Palin are done for good now. Hillary is just a politician now. Palin is the real deal. If you want a politician, just keep Barky. Barky is the politician’s politician. We don’t have any shortage of those. There is only one Palin.
While you may be correct in the reaction, critics have no leg to stand on since That One has not had a stable employment record, either. For once, I would like politicians of all political stripes to at least be consistent in their criticism and indignation. I am so tired of them pissing on my leg, all the while telling me it’s raining.
Here comes the female bashing season with the democrats.
When was the break in the bashing? I thought it was an all-season affair with the Obamacrats.
Well, the trolls are crawling out of the woodwork. Something must have gotten their attention.
We’ll see, won’t we?
They can`t stand the fact that Palin has more creds than the communist we have in the WH now.
Yeah. A lot of “creds” she has. She couldn’t even finish one term as a Governor of one of the smallest (population) states in the country. She’s done.
excuse me, but it seems to me that your king resident 0bama failed to complete jobs that he held WHILE he ran around and campaigned for other jobs. most americans think it’s pretty sh**ty to take people’s money and spend it (while swearing you aren’t going to run for a higher office) to get one job and then after you get it, take more money to find another job while you should be doing the first job. seems to me he DECIDED to do that at least twice. palin cannot do her job as governor at this time because it is costing her state money to defend frivolous lawsuits by american haters. grow a brain.
They’re trying to do damage control for the Huffington Post hit piece. You didn’t see it?
Here’s a few quotes:
http://tinyurl.com/kq367w
It’s so cool to be a Democrat and attack an innocent infant that can’t possibly defend himself. Although I seriously wander what people with Retarded or Handicapped children still within the Democrat Party think about what their witnessing. Is this what they think and say about my infant? Children when I am not around?
With the pictures they’ve been making of that baby, the attacks it should be reason enough to give anyone pause…are these really the people? Is this really the party I want to be associated with? So thankful I became NON. I no longer have to be associated myself with either party, which suits me just fine.
Whoa…I didn’t realize there were so many nasty hateful people on No Quarter. Think I will take a break from this place for awhile.
You must not have been on NQ during the last primary/GE. The filth directed at HRC and Sarah was truly the lowest, most vile I have ever heard in any campaign. It tells me a lot about my former friends who now call themselves “Progressive Liberals” or “The New Democrats”.
The filth was appalling. I was sickened. Then I would remember my friends were taking part. I wept more during that election than any year I can remember. And it rolled right over onto Palin and her family. I am sick of it. Whatever she does in the future, I will cheer her on. May even work on her behalf, or vote for her is given the change.
(ex-democrat sickened by the racist, sexist, anti-democratic Dem party.)
Puma — those nasty, hateful people only come in occasionally to snipe when That One is feeling down. Periodically.
Only when the trolls come a calling, Puma for Life.
The obamalocusts come here when the chips are down for Obumble. They get their $0.05 per post and bottle of Night Train and we get the unfortunate displeasure of reading tripe of the worst sort.
Where did the myth that people get paid by Obama for posting on messageboards/blogs get started? That’s one of the funniest ones. I find it quite hilarious in fact when they only evidence I ever saw of that actually happening was from the McCain/Palin campaign.
PeeWee Herman. Give credit where it is due.
Puma for life a colloquy if I might with you?
What is “so nasty”?
I will go first and say I am speaking for myself and observe the coverage of Governor Palin is FUBAR. Intellectually it is dishonest, morally it is un-ethical to see this happen.
I can tell you that it will only increase the animosity that Alaskans have for those in the lower 48, and independents have for the Democrats.
It appears that the liberals in this country think we might as well sell Alaska back to the Russians…from all I can discern, since they consider Gov. Palin so “un-american”.
The wife and I had decided a couple weeks back, as soon as we see green shoots in Florida real estate, we are selling and moving the kids to Alaska. We looked at leaving the country altogether, but decided Alaska would be a tweener. The best of both worlds between leaving altogether and not. To be perfectly honest, if Alaska seceded after we were there, I would be ecstatic. To be honest, I really was leaning toward leaving altogether, but the wife is afraid to and I don’t know enough to be convincing. A big rant sure, but the thing is I am ready for a second revolution. The current government no longer represents the people and the people have become the equivalent of livestock to the powers that be. I have no intention dying as a sheeple, iwould rather fight to be free. The lower 48 I am afraid is going to be on the wrong side of the fence before this is done. Rant over.
This is funny to me. I would love to hear you answer these questions:
1. Why were you leaving?
2. Where would you go?
If you’re one of those people who thinks Obama is a “socialist” – you do realize that Obama would be considered a right wing politician in almost every Western country right?
What if you’re not one of those kind of nuts – what else would be your reason?
I have two boys in middle school. Schools here continue to decline while job opportunities continue to decline. The economy is going nowhere for at least the next 8 years. We are probably looking at another great depression. I could tough this through anywhere. But, I want to leave so that my kids can have a chance at a good life. In the next 8 years, they are going to need to go through college. I think Alaska will grow and that it will prove to be a good investment. I think jobs and opportunity there will be better than in the lower 48. I also believe the proximity to Russia will be a bonus for Alaska. Russia is growing and is kicking our butts in capitalism right now and for the foreseeable future. Alaska won’t be dependent on the lower 48 forever. Someday the tie will be cut I believe. Obama is not a socialist. I would be o.k. with a socialist system if it were truly equitable. What we have is a hybrid system where some things are socialized for some people under some conditions. That isn’t socialism at all. No, he isn’t a socialist, he is a power hungry wannabe dictator. Good luck with that.
Plus, we like the outdoors, like to fish, like to garden etc. I have some ideas to build a sustainable home, and I have always wanted to do that. So we are looking at the MatSu Valley area because all of that is there, but it isn’t so cold. We are in Tampa, so it is going to be somewhat of a culture shock. I am not running from some apocalypse, just crumbling society. I don’t even go to church, but I don’t mind at all living around people who do. it is just the closest we can get to leaving it all without actually doing that. My kids and wife love the idea strangely enough. So that in itself is kind of a sign that is feels right.
I was thinking that Texas would be the first to secede, after they refuse to bail out California and New York.
I hope this is not a health issue.
Keep laughing trolls. I`m betting that a senate door opens up.
I would love that!
ME, TOO!
I’ve never been a particular fan of Palin’s, but the fact that the Democrats hate her SO MUCH makes me think that she is a very potent candidate. If they weren’t afraid of her, they wouldn’t bother. Interesting. Because of their reaction, I’m turning into a bigger and bigger fan, actually.
We’re not afraid of her. I know a lot of folks who plan on voting for her in open primaries just because we’d love to have her actually become the GOP nominee.
Sure it’s a little scary that a decent sized chunk of the US population is so nuts as to actually think this obviously ignorant stupid person should even be considered for the Presidency – but … We already know there’s a lot of nuts in this country – it’s just a matter of how nutty?
You know what I have learned in the past year? Apparently, the office of POTUS has been grossly oversold. Apparently you don’t have to do much besides give a speech here and there. We just elected the least qualified President of the last 100 years and nothing happened so far. So, apparently it really doesn’t matter who the President is. So since it doesn’t matter, we might as well have somebody who is a real person and not some manufactured brand name of a person.
Nonsense on two levels:
Obama was very qualified in that he’s a great politician, a great thinker, and very knowledgable on the issues. That’s more important than how many years you’ve been at this or that job.
You’re saying because nothing really bad has happened with Obama as President then maybe that means being President isn’t that hard – but t here’s a much more obvious explanation: President Obama is doing a good job.
A great thinker? Sorry — with that I take issue. This is a prepackaged media creation, a great teleprompter reader. The rest is all hype, nothing more.
If he were such a great thinker, he would not be so slow to take action and need to put his finger in the air to see which way the wind (i.e., the polls) are blowing before daring to speak up. Last summer with the Russia/Georgia situation was one case in point — he needed 4 statements on 4 successive days to get to the right level of gravitas in the matter. Even the sycophantic media, otherwise with him on everything admitted as much.
Same with his fence sitting re Iran these last few weeks. That, my dear, is not a great thinker. He named himself accurately during the campaign — he is “the delegator.”
He also wants to deliberate to the point of never making a decision so he doesn’t piss anyone off — just telling people what they want to hear so they’ll vote for him next time. Unfortunately, real governing is choosing. If he were such a great thinker, he wouldn’t float these trial policy balloons and then pull them back and pretend they didn’t exist when people got pissed off. He’d be better able to see the whole chess board from the jump.
Not only is POTUS grossly oversold, So are the House and Senate. Look at the freaks like Waxman, Franks, Frankel the list is endless. The most qualified and ethical citizens do not run for office, just the greedy and lazy who will do anything for a buck.
You’d think that Obama’s minions would be happy and content that their boss (who pays them in cigarettes and minimum wage)is sitting in the WH. I mean they got what they wanted, right? But no, they and their pals in the media pathologically NEED someone to project their own hatred and anger onto and to keep on smearing a person whom they deem stupid and “loony” and ineffective. They can’t stand the fact that McCain couldn’t get a thousand people to show up for his rallies until Palin came along and 20,000 suddenly showed up in every city in every state. That’s the reason they hate her–because they needed Greek columns to prop up their fake candidate and she didn’t.
Aha! Your comment just made the lightbulb go on for me. I see what she is doing. She is moving aside because then they will only have the Messiah and his lackeys to kick around. Very, brilliant move, Sarah! I’ve been a fan from the day McCain announced her as his pick and she just took it up a notch for me.
It reminds me of when my ex husband kept taking me to court for ridiculous nonsense and the court always believed him. They figured he would not waste money if there weren’t something to his accusations THAT HE WAS NEVER ABLE TO PROVE. So I sat back for a few years, believing that the truth does always come out. I decided that if I gave him enough rope, he would hang himself. Well, as soon as the spotlight was off of me, they (the court authorities) started looking at him, which they hadn’t done before because they were too busy focusing on me. Well, the truth did come out and I got sole custody of my 2 children and he has absolutely no leg to stand on anymore. See, I had proof of everything I was saying. I submitted 58 pieces of evidence. My ex? He had zero! zero! Just his words (Sounds like O, heh?). Anyway, the court didn’t like to rely on words over evidence.
Watch out Barrakula, Barracuda will be laughing while you hang yourself! It couldn’t happen to a better fraud.
We hate her because she represents everything wrong with America (a celebration of stupidity and ignorance) and because she reminds us of George W. Bush. This article does a good job of explaining why liberals really hate Palin: http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/07/why-some-liberals-hate-sarah-palin.html
It’s not for any of the crazy fantasies in your head. It’s because we despise stupid ignorant people who revel in their ignorance. We’re “elitists.” We think it’s cool to think about things and know facts. We expect our politicians to be people like that. People we can respect. Sarah Palin is an “average American” but… guess what? An average American shouldn’t be President. An exceptional American should be President. Just like exceptional people are at the top in business and in every other profession. Why when it comes to the most important position in the country should we settle for average?
Charles Krauthammer this evening said he doesn’t feel her eyes are on 2012, but 2016 or even later. So while it’s not a good move short term to resign midterm, who knows how it will work out long term (8-10 years plus). Maybe she’s just tired of her, her family and her administration being the media punching bag. Her daughter is called a tramp for doing the same thing as Obamas mom did – got pregnant as a teenager, her handicapped son is used to make cruel jokes with bloggers saying he should’ve been aborted, mainstream comedy shows think it’s ok to joke her husband is an incestuous pedophile and everytime she leaves Alaska to do anything, even if it’s state related business, someone files an ethics charge against her. Then they complain that she’s not spending enough time on state business when she takes time away to respond to the charges. She can’t win. So why even bother trying to play by established rules? Might as well do what she wants, she’d going to get grief about her choices not matter what.
Whatever she chooses to do, I wish her and her family luck.
When I heard this news, I wondered why she would quit mid-term and not finish the term she was elected to. After hearing her speak, I understand that this may truly be in the best interest of the state of Alaska. I believe she feels that she is leaving the state in good hands with the Lt. governor. But still, I wondered what might be in her future. I am an admirer of Sarah Palins, but I was one of those who thought it would be in her best interests to get as much experience under her belt before a try at the presidency if she has her eyes on that. I had hoped that she would gain some experience as an Alaskan senator.
But now that I have had some time to think this over, I think that maybe she is going to make herself available to Republicans/Conservatives who are running for re-election or possibly for first time elections in 2010. She does provide a good draw for Republicans and she may see that as a way to help re-build the party and position herself, maybe not for 2012 but for 2016 or 2020. Let’s face it, with the way things are going now, 2010 is there for the Republicans to win. With not being tied down to a day job, perhaps she sees herself as being able to speak out against Obama’s policies and getting some traction.
Just some ramblings from an independent voter who is looking for someone to be able to turn things around!
Good ramblings, Michele
Just heard commentary on CNN that this was a flat-out BRILLIANT move so I’ve had to lie down for a while to recover from hearing something positive on CNN about Sarah Palin (it was at the Gym so I had no choice but to watch the text on the screen).
I’ve been saying the same thing all afternoon.
Another state, another time, perhaps she stays.
But, in this case, she was unable to leave AK for more than a day without generating howls and inquiries and complaints and screeches from those who have become accustomed to screeching no matter if she starts her day on her left foot or her right (either being wrong in some quarters).
It carries its risks, sure. But 2010 is too late to start a presidential campaign. If she was going to be lashed to the Alaska State Capitol until then she had NO CHOICE but to saw through the chains and free herself to do what she needs to do, which is criss-cross the country and show people the real deal.
With great risk can come great reward.
One thing this lady has, is cojones/chutzpah. She makes just about every other politician on the horizon look like girlie men, including the empty suit currently playing the part of POTUS in the tragi-comedy currrently on stage in Washington.
Definitely a Cuda move.
We’ll see how it turns out but I expect we are about to see Sarah Palin unleashed. People in Alaska tell me it’s something to behold and nothing like what we saw when she was tangled up head to foot in McCain’s puppet strings.
Time to rock ‘n roll.
IndieDogg —
Do you have a link to the video on CNN — I’d be curious to hear their thinking on this too — by the way, if I heard this from them, I’d have to lie down, too!!
Hope you are well!
I think this may be in reference to Mary Matalin’s comments. If so, no need to lie down.
“Just heard commentary on CNN that this was a flat-out BRILLIANT move so I’ve had to lie down for a while to recover from hearing something positive on CNN about Sarah Palin ”
LOL!
lie down take a sedative and get my ears checked..lol.
Yah, it could be a hot mess or a hot success.
Here is some information:
** The governor has won 15 different bogus ethics complaints.
** The state of Alaska has spent $2 million defending the governor.
** It cost those liberals nothing to file the bogus complaints.
** Fighting the complaints has left her $500,000 in debt.
** It cost those liberals nothing to file the bogus complaints.
Some of those complaints cost liberals nothing because they weren’t filed by liberals in the first place. They were filed by her fellow Alaskan republicans.
Wow! The Obots are really trembling! How many have showed up so far?
It’s not democrats who are going to have a problem with Palin.
And don’t forget she was a whistle blower and took on corruption in the Republican party as well. Hmmmm.
Keep up the comic-strip buffoonery, Zippy. I’m waiting for your little Obumblebot-head to explode. This should be good.
Wouldn’t it implode as there seems to be nothing in it?
I’m sure CNN made that statement as an alert rather than a compliment. Danger! Danger! Danger! Palin at large! On the loose!
Yep–Good thing for them that they’ve got heavy-hitters like Andrew Sullivan, Chris Matthews, and Keith Olbermann to protect their sorry asses.
Yep–The twit trifecta.
Hmmmm–”the twit trifecta”–you may be right Ferd. I kind of thought of them as the favorites for the Triple Crown of Horse’s Ass racing.
.
They are indeed.
The Three Stooges also come to mind, except they were funny, intelligent, and performed a useful function in society.
They are also three blind mice leading the obumblelemmings right off the cliff up ahead on the far left. I won’t throw them a rope, however, as they would all just curse the rope, the cliff, and me.
I was thinking more along the lines of the 3 stooges up close, except they’re not acting…
Talk about the unholy trinity. Those three really deserve to sit in their own special circle of hell.
Yeah, the sort of place where they could all talk about Chrissie’s tingly leg.
Yes, had she stayed in Alaska and played along to get along she would wind up being just another politician in the end. That isn’t who she is and that isn’t why the far left and the right fear her. They fear her because she is not a politician… not one of them… one of us.
Well, when I was watching CNN, the reviews were not that favorable. Candy Crowley was positively purring. Crowley commented that when Palin was on the campaign trail she would go off message so often that “the teleprompters soon appeared.” So, when Palin uses a teleprompter it is a sign of weakness, but when the New Messiah uses a teleprompter to simply say “Hello” media critics like Crowley have absolutely nothing to say.
It has been so disgusting to see women in the media pile on both Hillary and Palin just to prove they can be one of the boys.
I’m sad to see Palin leave before her term is up. I bow to her judgement as she is the one in the malestrom, but I’m afraid she will forever be tagged with the “quitter” label.
I hope she emerges as a strong figure outside of politics. I certainly wish her well.
funny as hell ..Candy should do comedy night…
Was she channeling TOTUS?
I prefer to say she has huevos…..
Great job getting this post up so fast Ani! :O)
You are right about how disgusting the attacks were. I think had she known then, what she knows now about attacks, she would have defended Hillary in the beginning. But, I do think that the attacks on Palin and her family go beyond even what Hillary got. And she got a LOT.
It’s gross all around.
Well they were able to go after Palin in a different way and use her family as ammunition and the fact that she is not Ivy League. Whatever else those jerks vilified Hillary over, they couldn’t touch her on smarts or preparedness.
They knew that was a losing battle, particularly in comparison to Mr. Happy and his traveling teleprompter.
smart as a whip, that gal! :O)
I second that !!
Yeah, keep supporting a politician who decided to trump talk of the nations celebration of its birth for at best, a chance to launch her bid to be president of said country…I’m sure if a Democrat did this on such a day, you’d have so many nice things to say about their patriotism…You’re a liar and a joke and the world would be better off with scum like you, true story!!!!
This isn’t the fourth, moron, and you would take issue whether she stayed or left, quit yesterday, today, or next month. Take your passive-aggressive dreck over to one of the many sites devoted to the adoration of your Obumble.
Obots never know what day it is Ferd
Except that even days are tinfoil hat days in Obumblebotland and the odd days are for propellered beanies.
She didn’t do it to trump the Fourth of July, this was a Friday news dump — a press conference Friday afternoon that makes a minimal media impact going into a holiday weekend.
You shouldn’t comment that way to a fellow Obumblebot or the Bot of the Day will take away that $0.05 you just got for posting, Slimy.
You know what’s extra awesome about this site? I’m ten times more likely to get banned than you, and you’re the one engaging in (granted, ineffectual and lame) personal attacks.
Awesome.
Oh, the melodrama, Slimy. You come here with your banal blather, committing your own ad hominems against every one here FIRST and then expect open arms from us? You are one twisted little worm.
Shut your gaping pie-hole as you’re drawing flies, which isn’t at all attractive.
hahahahaha complaining about ad hominem attacks and then calling someone a worm equals awesome.
Fred, you’re my favorite commenter here.
That would be “Ferd”, illiterate one. If you actually can read (much less comprehend), I said YOU come here spouting YOUR ad hominems FIRST. I only responded in kind to your false generalizations and personal attacks, which, by the way, you have been making for months.
SInce you want to play with 100-watters with your 10-watt brain, you best get accustomed to being smacked around a lot. But then, you are a glutton for punishment since you obviously only come here for abuse anyway as no one really gives a tinker’s cuss about what echoes in that empty expanse you call your skull.
It must be difficult for you–you’ve got at least three strikes against you from get-go:
1. You’re a cult member (obamabot),
2. You’re not very bright, and
3. You’re a masochist.
I would pity you, but I don’t have any sympathy for someone intentionally and terminally obtuse as you are.
hahaha, the old “you started it” defense! And it’s a lie, too! Once, again, awesome.
p.s. I’ll put my brain up against yours any day
If only there were a way to really PROVE educational/professional accomplishments during internet fights. A damn shame.
UBM?
I am going to take Palin at her word. She is resigning for the very reasons she gave. As she said, it’s only the people who dislike her that don’t take her explanation as the truth.
For some reason, her resignation speech took me back to the day Pat Schroeder quit her presidential race. It was, in many ways for the same reasons: the horrendous financial waste that happens in politics. We need women in power who do see the crime in wasting money on politicians and thereby corrupting them.
I’m sad for her, but I’m also happy that she will be free for awhile.
As for A-Nony-Mous’s belief there will be a big scandal–was there anyrhing that stuck on the other supposed scandals she had to defend herself against?
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7280
A big scandal will come out. She may end up in jail before it’s all said and done. Not only is she not bright and extremely ignorant. She’s also a criminal.
This is about as disgusting as Palin Derangement Syndrome can get.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2009/07/03/huffposter-palin-will-run-12-more-retardation-platform
A blog just published at the Huffington Post is disgracefully titled “Palin Will Run In ‘12 On More Retardation Platform.”
The author, fiction and comedy writer Erik Sean Nelson, actually wrote the following (readers are seriously warned to proceed with caution as this is really vile stuff):
In Sarah Palin’s resignation announcement she complained about the treatment of her son Trig who always teaches her life lessons. She said that the “world needs more Trigs, not fewer.” That’s a presidential campaign promise we can all get behind. She will be the first politician to actually try to increase the population of retarded people. To me, it’s kinda like saying the world needs more cancer patients because they teach us such personal lessons.
Her first act as President: To introduce a Pre-K lunch buffet that includes lead paint chips. Sort of a Large HEAD-START Program.
She will then encourage women to hold off on pregnancies until their 40’s just to mix up some chromosomes.
She now is in favor of abortion only in case of diploid birth.
Her policies will increase jobs because Wal-Mart is building new stores each day and someone has to be the greeter.
This will lead to smaller government because fewer Americans will have the cognitive ability to hold a government job
Wow. Is this what passes for comedy today?
It will be interesting to see how long this post stays up before someone at HuffPo pulls it.
SCREEN CAP: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2285113/posts?q=1&;page=144#144
that is disgraceful, absolutely loathsome
I don’t support Palin at all, but leave her kids out of it and stick to criticism of her policies and associations.
this sh#t really pisses me off.
AGI: what a truckload of bull crap!!
It just shows how dumb the author is for it needs to resort to vile insults to call attention upon his writing… This is not comedy; this is mediocrity and vulgarity.
Like the english say: If Mr “Nelson” could go any lower, I could tee a golf ball off his head.
The left has become a group of mindless locusts, devouring and destroying anything that will maintain them long enough for them to find their next victim, all the while leaving utter destruction in their wake. And like locusts, they serve have no purpose except to take.
Independence Day?
I hadn’t thought of that. Spot on, Teak. That rather nicely summarizes the intent of Obumblebots. They’re takers and nothing more.
He hates women. He and Perez Hilton were separated at birth. This inbred effete is merely upset that despite his abundant man-tits he was’nt born an attractive woman like SP.
And just like his equally vagina envy twin Perez, he will soon get his comeuppance.
We need a leader who stands up to put integrity back into politics, back into our cultural identity as a people. The awful behavior engaged in by the dems (my former party) against Hillary and then Sarah totally shocked me. We were supposed to be the “good” party. (me=sucker!)
Now all this later stuff against Palin, against her kids, the “joke” thing above about Trig – I think the kids and the adults who never grew up are in charge. Someone needs to call them to task, knock them or shame them out of power, and find a grown up to start leading us to be better people.
My preference would be that it not be done under the guise of religion, so that it would be inclusive. But I think that one of the reasons that so many flocked to Sarah is because she is so “real”, so “one of us”. Some swarmy, funny-religion guy like Romney couldn’t pull it off, IMO, because he’s just a polished pol, he’s not the real thing. I hope it’s Sarah. And Hillary.
And dang blast it! The New Agenda and NOW (on probation!) had better darn well step up to the plate and be leaders speaking out against all sexist attacks! And Greta, too!
But, anyone else grow up like this, when you have people over for a holiday, the kids sat at their own table, and the grownups could have grownup discussions with each other? I think it’s time to do that on blogs – if they’re under 25 years old, they have to go grow up. Over 25, you can come sit at our table, where all the attention and important work is done. (But there will be made exceptions for some younger ones who know who are more mature than their peers!)
It’s awfully hard to get civility and values into politics when bots are allowed into the mix, you know? So they can have a table in the basement. I’m just really sick of how quickly political discourse has sunk since two female candidates dared to run, and bots took over the internet. If personalities like theirs don’t change, the future for our granchildren is going to be a total mess.
I’m sorry! I posted pretty much the same thing above with different links. My anger/rant. I didn’t read down far enough.
Excellent points Ani.
Where is her teleprompter?
What Kristol and Schmidt know is that the only Republican candidate worth cutting each other up about is Sarah Palin. The governor certainly does not need either of them other than as stable hands for Joan of Arc’s replacement horses or as Joan Crawford’s makeup artists. In fact, the governor does not need much more than a ballot line from the aimless, tongue-tied, villain-rich GOP. She certainly does not need the GOP to do well in the congressional mid-terms in 2010; she does not need the party to improve its flabby polling on health care or trust; she does not even need the Republican Party to raise a voice to explain her positions on the burning controversies on Capitol Hill. Palin does not need to prove anything at all about wise government, because she appeals directly to the anti-authoritarian crowd that has been with us since Shay’s Rebellion in 1787. It is an accident of history, and of John McCain’s whimsy, that Sarah Palin caught Potomac Fever in September ‘08, and it will carry her either to the White House or to that place even rarer, where the Kingfisher dwells, called what-could’ve-been

Ziggy sucks
Obama sucks
Huffington Post sucks
Go back to your Cheetos!
You forgot A-Nony-Mouse, the biggest sucker of all.
I think we can all agree that Sarah Palin is not done on the national scene – but the GOP establishment appears to be grooming Hair-do Romney for 2012. Whatever path Sarah takes, she will continue to swim upstream, and I will continue to cheer for her.
Of course, my dream scenario would be for Obama to step aside and allow Hillary to run in 2012 – but things would have to go really, really bad for the Chicago thugocracy for that to happen.
Yes it is my dream too, however unlikely.
But please someone defend us from Romney the hairdo!!
They do so at their own risk.
If that cream-puff Romney runs against That One in ‘12, I will be voting for a third-party candidate or will just stay home.
Neocon founder Bill Kristol, who advocated for Palin as McCain’s vp pick well before she was chosen:
“…If I had to bet right now, I think we just saw the opening statement of the 2012 presidential race.”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItUiaJb5Vmk
So do I think. She has been backed from the highest levels by the neocons and far right, especially the christian far-right: all of these have backed or do back her: Ted Stevens, Frank Murkowski, Bill Kristol, Jeff Larson, Frank Gaffney, Randy Scheunemann, Charlie Black, Newt Gingrich, Fred Thompson, Frank Donatelli, Robert Kagan, Grover Norquist, Dick Cheney, Richard Perle, Mike Huckabee, Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan, Dennis Prager, Jim Dobson, Rick Warren, Tony Perkins, Rick Joyner, Thomas Muthee.
She has great charisma and is an excellent fundraiser. She already has a presidential pac. This is just a smokescreen to seemingly separate her from the neocons and their backers. This whole meme of the Republican party in disarray and needing to move back to its true roots conservatism is an abbatis. The top echelons of the Repub party are and have long been neocon stooges to the defense industry, financial institutions, and megacorporations including energy and communications. And those people have no allegiance to anyone other than themselves. Now they run the Dem party too. There are no 2 main political parties: both are owned by the same entities. The same people who backed Bush backed BHO in this last election, and they’re backing Palin for the next. She’s their candidate and there’s no way they won’t run her.
She did not come out of nowhere anymore than did BHO. And like BHO her associations reveal her.
BHO is not left: he had a left rhetoric veneer that’s been peeled away and trashed. He has implemented no liberal policy, he has implemented no socialist policy; he has implemented no marxist policy: what he has implemented is a lot of autocratic, fascist policy.
Imo they will install her in precisely the same way only this time the rallying cries will be of states’ rights and misogyny, rather than change and racism; and she will be the next president.
Anyone who believes that she has quit the game is a f#cking fool.
On the other hand, maybe she’ll go along the lines of either radio show host, or tv guest opinionator, or speak at fundraisers.
Just think, no pesky emabarrasing interviews in which to not be able to answer any questions requiring knowledge.
they might have relieved Steele and put her in as chair of the RNC: this would have been a good position for her for she is very good as a fundraiser and can draw a great crowd; she is very good in the role of attacking BHO. this would solidify her role within the party as well, which would help her gain a broader source of backers.
I would not be certain she could win an election for potus without some fancy BHO-style electioneering, but hey, how many bogus elections have we had in a row now? Also, I would doubt the economy will be looking any better come 2012: the dems will surely run BHO regardless, but it seems probable that the repubs in their kinder gentler neocon false populism will be returned to their former position.
Spaminated again.
That is disgusting and vile. Is that what passes for humor these days?
As of today, I would not bet on any speculation of Palin’s future, except for this:
She was specific about leaving, while vaguely alluding to an ambiguous career plan.
If she ever wants a continued career in a politics related job, she will have to make a definite move in some direction very soon. Otherwise, the characterization as a quitter will stick, because leaving the one job will not have a replacement as as reason for leaving.
It’s one thing if the grass is greener on the other side, but just leaving becuase the present grass isn’t working…well…just doesn’t work.
A true leader quits when the going gets rough.
That explains why Ozero hasn’t resigned.
This post shows why you’re as big a joke as she is…Keep it up
The silver lining of Palin’s announcemnet is that noone is paying any attention to Obama’s trip to Russia: and deservedly so since Hillary did not go with him.
wow. This is soooo interesting. I am torn between thinking she is crazy like a fox and she is just plain quitting politics.
Palin/Romeny 2012: when the going gets tough, Palin gets going fishing
And we all know that Obama was such a wonderful senator from Illinois while he was running for president – and that started before he was actually sworn in. Obama “quit” the senate before he even started.
Didn’t you know that any criticism of That One is racism? The Anointed One is not to be questioned by us mere mortals, upon pain of the ceaseless posting of Obot
commentaryhogwash.Since the announcement, donations to Sarah’s PAC have gone up 40% and Team Sarah announced they had a donation of $50,000…she ain’t going to retire, folks! I wish her the best whatever she chooses to do.Especially if she gets the Obots heads to explode, as she is already doing.I haven’t been able to stop smiling since this afternoon: she bumped MJ off the lead in the news and the punditry had to stop their golf and sailing in the Hamptons to work the phones; she is priceless…
Mavericks know when to get out the spotlight. Sarah is a sharp shooter. Too many were aiming at the bullseye. And she was in their crosshairs. Sarah Palin is regrouping. The only time Mavericks quit is when they are making a sacrifice for the TEAM. Her language today was full of symbolsim. She did this to show her independence of conventional politics. Sarah Palin is a Maverick!!!!!!
No way this woman is going to sit around Alaska and take the bashing from the liberal press while she sees her country goes down the drain. THis woman is going to campaign for true conservatives and save America from Obama socialist delusions. This move may cost her the Presidency but she is saving a nation. Go Sarah!!!
The liberal media wanted a leader for the GOP. This move may cost her the presidency but this woman is saving a nation. What she needs to do now is surround herself with powerful, educated loyal people of integrity.
Sarah was forced to take stimulus money. She knows that that was not a good policy She will campign againts the looming government reckless spending and waste.
With a decided emphasis on integrity. We don’t need shit-kicking, single-issue extremists any more than we need latte-sipping, single-issue extremists.
But where can people like that be found??? Are we going to have to find our next POTUS in another country??? Might as well, Obama set a precedent.
Just kidding!
oops. Must clarify! Kidding about finding our leaders in other countries, but not kidding that Obama set a precedent!
I don’t know where we can find them. It seems lately that people I meet are either Obumblebots or neoconbots, neither of which are very bright or demonstrate integrity or loyalty, except to their own petty desires.
Everybody just calm down. She wasn’t rambling, she isn’t suicidal, she can take the heat etc. etc. etc. She just got a job as a community organizer in Juno. (haha)
Saracuda is garnering her strengths and avoiding the full frontal media, Republican insider attacks. I’m sure it has something to do with “the Art of War”.
Just DON’T UNDERESTIMATE Sarah Palin.
Thanks for the post Ani.
Gov. Sarah Palin is an awesome woman; she is the real deal. Gov. Palin mentioned the attacks on Trig in her speech today and she demonstrated such dignity and compassion when she said we need more Trigs in the world [to learn from].
Loathsome vile people like Andrew Sullivan will ironically fail to understand the concept of accepting others who are different then themselves.
Sullivan actually appears to be threatened by a tiny baby named Trig.
Sullivan and the Obot Minion’s obsession with Trig and Gov. Palin borders on pathological. The insanity of their reaction to Palin and her family is definitely similar to the irrational rage heaped on another great woman, SOS Hillary Clinton.
Both Gov. Sarah Palin and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are great heroines and they still have much to contribute to this great Nation and the world.
Happy 4th of July to ALL at NoQuarter!
You know, if Hillary could resign right now, after Odrama set her up regarding Iran, she could team up with Sarah and they could start a third party and bring the others down hard! That, I’d love to see!
The center and right would be well-served by such a team, as would the country. I won’t hold my breath, however, waiting for it to happen.
I won’t be holding my breath, but I may be dreaming about it for the next few months…
Scout, aren’t you a pediatrician? Can’t you prescribe these little boy bots a sedative so they can take their nap, and maybe another medicine that helps their brain and maturity level grow….?
I had a dream that Hillary told Sarah to resign and use the next 1.5 years to campaign for others, write her book, get her unfiltered message out there, and bone up on wonky stuff. Meanwhile, Hillary will keep trying to save our foreign policy, and unless there’s an earlier reason, will resign in a year and a half. Then they’ll announce their partnership and start campaigning!
Now that would be a dream team! They’d be unstoppable. Is it 2012 yet? How about now?
Sullivan needs to just roll over and shove that big dildo he has up his arse.
The reason for her quitting is still unclear. This means she has something BIG brewing in the background. And she has said that she wants to help others in the GOP win elections. Sounds like a preemptive national campaign to me.
Palin resigns to spend more time with Couric and Gibson.
I’ve heard there are bogus sites set up to collect funds from Palin’s supporters.
Did anyone here donate yet and if so, do you have any info to offer?
Hmm….something’s up folks. Either Palin’s come to the end of her political career or she’s got something very BIG up her sleeve to be revealed at a later date.
I’m not so sure she’ll launch her POTUS bid in 2012, but she may be effective behind the scenes to help bring down some folks in the 0zero scummunity as well as prepare the terrain for POTUS bid in 2016 or 2020. She’s only 45 years old.
She made some rather telling comments. She made clear she was NOT going away politically AND said
“… I’ll work for and campaign for those PROUD to be American, and those who are INSPIRED by our ideals and won’t deride them.
I WILL support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don’t care what party they’re in or no party at all….”
I have my own theories as to what may be in the works but I’ll keep my speculations to myself. If I’m right hang on to your seats people because it’s gonna be a bumpy but very fun ride.
Prey tell, catherine.
I would hate to think Palin is leaving politics, if she is all I can say no wonder the world love to call us the ugly Americans, for some American sure know how to destroy their own for the sake of power.
Long ago it use to be done quietly but now with the coming of cable TV and the internet the entire world can watch us in all our ugly glory, as we ridicule, make fun of and try to destroy what is good and have a bright future, just for the sake of getting their guys in.
What was done to the Palin family was awful and every American no matter what side of the political fence we fall on should be embarrassed at what some put her and her family through and even today with her statement some are still at it, amazing is it not?
I could not agree more. Add to that what happened to Hillary Clinton, and you’ve got the package deal on misogyny.
lullz, sra got pwned
It’s a great move for Sarah.
Sarah’s speech today will be remembered as one of the greatest of the twenty-first century. It is a coherent and compelling ‘call to arms’ for those who believe like us, that in order to save what you love most you sometimes must destroy it, whether it be her career, her integrity or her country. She is not a quitter, she is a “give up-er” as in give ourselves up to God and let Him make the decisions. I too will quit my job too in order to await her orders. I know Mrs Palin has something in store for us all…
She can make a lot more $$$$ on the speaker circuit, book tour, lecture series than as Governor of Alaska. Money makes the world go round.
Joy
Yes indeed, making money is a much better thing to do with one’s time than be governor. Who can blame her? She can use the money to do good things for our country, like maybe lobby for good causes, or help stimulate the economy by buying things. It’s all part of the plan, we need to just trust her.
Maybe some activists will start a campaign to contact sponsors of HuffPo and hold its feet to the fire for publishing (even though they’ve pulled it like AGII predicted) the disgusting piece by Erik Sean Nelson. The word needs to get out about people of this ilk. Political discourse seems to sink to new lows at a dizzying speed these days.
With the immediacy of the Internet, too many people fail to take the time to be sufficiently thoughtful. Any wit Erik Sean Nelson possesses is wasted on such a pathetic example of human nature at its worst.
Sarah Palin resignation, for those who love this Country, is nothing more, than respect. She knew, that her enemies will consider it a ” big success”. For us, real Americans, seeing that a handfull of incapabil, so called “politicians”, are doing everything possible to destroy our country, Sarah resignation means a heroic act. She refuse to be part of this ” gang”. She loves this country to much to be part of her destruction. For the love of our Country, GO SARAH, NEVER GIVE-UP TO BE A LOYAL AMERICAN.
This comment intrigues me the most and could be interpreted as the basis on Palin becoming (or campaigning) for an Independent candidate in 2012.
It might even be a third party. Like the Alaska Independence Party, except extending across the country. The red states would be open to this. I see no need for the red states to be saddled with the whimsies of the blue states. Blue states should have what they want, but so should the red states. I don’t know that it could happen, just that it would be more equitable than what we have now. Think of it like a bad marriage. It is better to just part ways than to live together with enmity.
Rick Sanchez is such a tool — he randomly speculated the following:
Seriously, what an asshole.
Diarrhea of the mouth applies to Rick Sanchez.
wtf!!!! she was a bit nervous giving this announcement, so what. because it wasn’t a scripted, teleprompted theatrical event sanctioned by the fawning media…well, must mean she’s pregnant.
Or going through the “change”. Haven’t heard that one yet from the cheetoh bag.
Or PMS. If not that then delayed Post Partum Depression. Or just some other “female” stuff all relating to hormones. What is wrong with these throw backs?
Well, it was scripted; she did read her prepared speech. I think that’s beside the point, though.
This had nothing to do with the press conference being “a theatrical event sanctioned by the fawning media”; this had to do with Sanchez being a sexist moron who went with the “crazy pregnant lady” theory.
What I am not looking forward to in the next few days are the snide comments, false news stories, etc., about Sarah resigning. I am excited though to see what and how she handles the months leading up to 2012.
Sarah is a lady of courage.
My first vote was for Ronald Reagan, I didn’t believe in some of his views but I respected him, it wasn’t about one issue. I found myself in the same boat with Sarah Palin , she was so far to the right, but I respected her. It is very difficult to carry yourself threw a storm of media and left wing Obamakins and when it came to her children she was very noble yes noble, they needed her and she was there and she loved them, even if some thought they were not perfect. Yes respect sometimes can earn you a vote at least in my book it can. I don’t like seeing them beat her down , But I assume that she has better ambitions, like being a mom or maybe she will write the great American novel or maybe President . Great things come to those who wait. GOD I LOVE THIS COUNTRY, GOD BLESS IT AND KEEP IT SAFE. HAPPY 4 OF JULY.
I sure hope that she does have something up her sleeve …. Like a copy of his Long Form BC from HI.
Wouldn’t that be great!! Whatever it is, I think there is something bigger behind this.
After what they did to her, I would love to see her come out and tell it all. What can they do to her now anyway? They’ve already done about as much as they can.
Talk Sarah, Talk!!!
This Democrat loves Sarah Palin. I voted for her (sorry John McCain) in the general election, and I have no regrets.
I agree with Scout. The nastiness that eminates from the progressive forces on the left makes me sick. They are a bunch of hypocritical babies; the people who have this persecution complex, but who in reality, are the worst purveyors of persecution. I just don’t get them, so I have decided to move two steps to the right to distance myself from them. I hate them, and they can go screw themselves.
Good for Sarah. I hope she does gain some type of political advantage from this move. And if she runs for the presidency in 2012, I would like to be one of her grassroots supporters. Contrary to what the mealy mouthed liberals think, this lady isn’t stupid. She speaks to the people in a language they understand, not in a pretentious Obama-esque tripe.
obama quit the senate after serving less time than palin as governor and not one word about that!!!!
Jeremy: you have such a command of the facts. Let’s review, shall we?
Sarah Palin began serving as Governor in January 2007. She announced her resignation today, effective July 25.
Let’s do the math: January 2007 to July 2009 = 2 years 6 months.
Barack Obama began serving as U.S. Senator in January 2005. Despite your fiction, he did not quit his seat until after he had won the Presidency. I’m not quite sure why you think he should have kept both positions.
Again, the math: January 2005 to mid-November 2008 = 3 years 10 months.
To summarize:
Palin: Governor for 2 years, 6 months; resigns
Obama: U.S. Senator for 3 years, 10 months; wins the Presidency and has no choice but to resign his Senate seat
So, I guess the reason why there’s “no word about that!!!!” is because “that!!!!!” is based on pure fiction.
The difference is that Sarah Palin didn’t phone it in; Bambi pretty much missing in action, voting “Present” for 200 and how many times during his time as a legislator and in the senate? He’s been on a constant campaign for all this time…including the past 6 months.
Dan, Palin wasn’t running for president. Perhaps the comparison should be Biden v Palin? It was clear during the GE the Obama team was trying to make it Palin v Obama. Why was that I wonder? Because Biden has been saying stupid things for years?
http://rawstory.com/08/news/2009/07/03/rumors-fly-about-palins-iceberg-scandal/
bradblog, daily beast, raw story reporting that Palin may be federally indicted for embezzlement (the house thing).
Right so now she has embezzled fund, you people never stop do you? We have a President that is not doing jack squat, the country is going down the tubes, he is off with his family on another trip to see the world and some are worried that Palin house may have the same type of windows as the sports complex.
No wonder Obama walked away with this election, we have to be the dumbest people on the planet. We are so busy studying what is going on with everyone else while Obama and his administration are taking all our freedoms and rights away yet some still cant see it, all we do is talk about Palin and Sanford, while we cant make two ends meet, yep we have it all figured out I see
jeebus, “you people”: wtf is your problem @sswipe?
I said, that’s the story that’s going around. I didn’t say it was true or not true, I said that’s the f#cking story, you moron. Get a f#cking grip on yourself.
It’s fine to be angry. But try to know exactly what you’re angry about and who you should really angry at. And please be aware that anger can distort perceptions.
What happened to my post? It’s gone!
Wow!!!!
mimi you had a great post about Palin on “WAPO was trying to sell what?” I haven’t seen one on this thread. Spaminator has been very hungry lately.
Thanks, I guess I’m getting batty. With all that’s going on, it’s no wonder.
Mimi, welcome back -I’ll see if I can retrieve it…

Rock bottom: HuffPo poster bids Palin farewell with retard jokes
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/07/03/rock-bottom-huffpo-poster-bids-palin-farewell-with-retard-jokes/
She cost McCain the election, her folkyness, accent and winking do not ring true, her intellect is below par (our vivid memory of the last one who delegates and follows because of their lack of intellect), but lets face it with the right type of marketing (vote folky, vote god) it can be sold to US, history tends to repeat itself. God help us!
You mean like Obama’s branding and marketing….
Wow. I just read Palin’s resignation letter. It’s really poorly written. For a 13 year old. I mean. Wow. Is she really this dumb or is she just playing?
Read Paul Begala’s take and then read her resignation letter (it’s linked in this article) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/paul-begala/sarah-palin-turns-pro_b_225633.html
Maybe she should have asked Favreau to write it for her? Or maybe Axelrod? Maybe not hiring somebody to do everything for her is what makes her so much the hick?
Why would I lower myself to read anything by Begala? Or anything on Huff & Puff for that matter. You are the example of the hateful, vile, vulgar degenerates who have taken over the Democrat party and their propaganda machine popularly known as the MSM. Then, not satisfied with swimming in your own swill there, you come her to slime and defecate where you’re not wanted. So get lost, Cretin.
For God’s sake. Her resignation letter is laughable bad. She cannot even write at a high school level and folks think she should be President of the United States? It’s insane.
“laughable bad”?? Apparently, you aren’t past 5th grade either.
Benito & A-Nony-Mouse
Your pods are about to close! Go back to the dungeon where you belong….
Benito, you are out of your mind.Sarah was the one who helped McCain to survive until the end. And, if you call Sarah, ” her intellect is bellow par”, how you categorize the messiah ” intellect”. Magna cum S….? Constitutional lawyer, can’t put two words togewther without the telepromter. Both of them (0/M), are ” missing” the most elementary manners. As he said(0bama) the pig is pig, with or without lipstick. I’m just wondering, how high or bellow your intellectual level is, if you can’t make a difference between this two people. One of them get where she is,with hard work and sacrifice. The other one, is where he is, by lie and chit and the help of Affirmative Action.
This is an epic comment. Congratulations!
You should probably refrain from writing about the intellectual abilities of others until you learn how to write at a 5th grade level.
My writing in English , as you said at 5th grade level, as I see, it doesn’t stopped you to understand what I want to say. English is not my native language. Sure, I will never would be able to write in English like in my native language, but I can asure you, they are many who were born in this country are doing worst then I. What I’m proud of, I can read, write and speak, other 4 languages beside English. How many languages you can speak. You and the others two ” teachers”. Looks to me, because what I wrote is true, not having other argument, you decided to insult. I don’t care. But for you, the truth hurts.
No, it’s the stupid that hurts.
How dare you try to correct her writing! I noticed you avoided her question as to how many languages you “yourself” are able to speak. Go back and read your own posts. Talk about the reading and writing comprehension of a 5th grader. You don’t own any mirrors do you? You can’t even speak the language and it’s probably the only language you know.
And I quote from your very own post:
What a joke. Yet there you sit trying to correct others. Pfft
I’m sure Lisabona writes perfectly in her native language, and I’ll grant you the same consideration mouse. By the way mouse, what is your native language? It certainly can’t be english.
Mouse’s native language is Oblahblah from the nation of Obamalandia.
Your comments strike me as very small and sophomoric.
Absolutely! While I sometimes disagree with Lisabona, I admire her passion and willingness to express that passion, especially when she must realize that she may get teased for her broken english. Only a tiny minded shit for brains could think that english is her native language………. Are you still here mouse and slim?
Yes, we’ve witnessed the crazy angry unhinged people like you who only find comfort in destroying people who threaten to reveal how lacking and coward like the Teleprompter President is.
Also, how angry it makes you inside to admit the person you voted is essentially Barrack W. Bush – he’s lied and broken so many promises. Must make you very angry to realize you voted for Bush agai.
I never voted for Bush the first time. You live in a fantasy land.
It’s doubtful that you were old enough. And judging by your comments, it seems possible that you are not currently possesed with the mental faculties needed to properly fill out a ballot. And if I were you, I might use that explaination for having voted for Obama. A prudent reference to the few blunt instruments you have at your disposal could allow you to legitimately cite ignorance as a viable excuse for your support of the boy-king.
There’s a big scandal of some sort coming for Palin. The more you think about this crazy move of hers the more obvious it is that she’s running from something.
But you voted for him last year.
Something nobody has talked about. The media and the far left is all over Palin’s kids, we know that. But we only see the kids in Alaska. There is the son in the army infantry. I wonder if the son has been treated differently as well because of Palin… i.e. sent out for the dangerous missions, or intentionally endangered in some way. Palin did just get back from visiting, and now this. Just another thought, not a pretty thought, bit not much from the far left is pretty.
My first thought when I heard her announcement, was Richard Nixon in 62, You won’t have Richard Nixon to kick around anymore, while he went about getting himself elected President, 6 years later.
