The tea party was engineered by a few interests: The merchants selling the Dutch tea and protesting the monopoly Britain held through the East India Company, the idealists who wanted representation in British Parliament, and the rowdies in Boston who supplied the muscle. Most Americans also don't know that being tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail wasn't an amusing event - it was a horrible death. I missed #6 too.
