The witness (chauffeur), the police, the video. I think the only thing that was missing is the surrounding drama to draw attention to the "police action". Now I don't think it began intentionally as an act of civil disobedience. But I believe with all my heart that Gates - whose familiarity with Alinsky et al - took advantage of the situation and made it a civil disobedience act. There were many more victims than Whalen. But I agree that she ought to be honored for her phone call rather than abused and dismissed as an afterthought. (or even less than that). And I am so envious of all you who have Senator Gillibrand.
