Obama Blinks; Health Care Reform “Just A Suggestion”
By Steve_in_KC on August 18, 2009 at 10:21 PM in Current Affairs
OK, so I’m putting words in his mouth, but if the shoe fits, let him sleep in it!
Turns out our big bad POTUS can’t take the heat, so he’s leaving the kitchen, probably sneaking down to the basement to help his mother-in-law put a hex on his political enemies. Unconfirmed reports by undead sources indicate he was seen trying to conceal a live chicken and a crude doll resembling Rush Limbaugh under his jacket as he slipped into a candle-lit room reeking of burning goat hair and sulfur.
After weeks of tense debates and public outcry about his universal health care plans, or health insurance reform, or whatever newspeak phrases he tries on for size to describe his flaccid attempts to re-invent the American health care nightmare, he seems to have lost his will to bleed for it.
Those mean ol’ Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats (and Independents and a sizable number of plain ol’ sensible American voters) have pulled the rug out from under His Grandiosity. Now, instead of a single-payer, government-run health care system like he promised his starry-eyed worshippers, he starts leaking through his underlings (as well as his unicorn-covered bikini briefs) that maybe we should just start a few health insurance co-ops. You know, like the hippies used to do with organic food markets and used clothing stores!
That’ll teach those greedy insurance maggots! You don’t mess with the O-Man! He’ll turn the Ecstasy crowd against ya! They may even stop buying alien abduction insurance, just for spite!
You see, it turns out that this whole National Health Insurance initiative was just a trial balloon, but it popped when the gas expanded (insert Congressional simile here).
It’s not that people don’t want free health care, they just don’t want to pay for it. Not with tax hikes, not with a Chinese credit card, and certainly not with another Great Depression.
If we have free medical care, then what happens to all the people who make their livings in the medical and insurance fields? We just put them out of work along with the rest of us? Hell, it seems the only jobs available right now are for hospital orderlies and nurses aides! Who’s going to empty those bedpans?
Seriously, though, are we going to put all these people on the government payroll to take care of us? Don’t we have enough waste in government already? Do we really want our taxes paying for doctors to tool around the suburbs in their Priuses and hydrogen-powered moon buggies?
Those damn doctors just want too much from us. They expect to make a bundle just because they spent 12 years in college? Are they nuts? Or just greedy? Who needs them and their fancy degrees anyway?
We don’t need our taxes paying for rhinoplasties and liposuctions! Screw that! Why pay through the nose when we can just suck it up and do it ourselves at home with our Ginsu knives and Orecks?
But I digress, as usual.
Speaking for myself, since nobody else will, I’d love to have free medical care, at least for the basics. Preventive care, life-threatening trauma and diseases, organ transplants, and wart removal are all high on my list of must-haves. I don’t really care so much about the acupuncture and lobotomy stuff; leave that for the more exotic insurance policies.
Most of us just don’t trust the gummint to make our medical decisions for us. And if we have to pay for it with our taxes, we REALLY don’t trust them to make medical decisions for others! I mean, if I’m relatively healthy and don’t need a doctor more than once or twice a year, why should I have to pay for some non-contributing unemployed person to have an appendectomy? [Author's note - see above paragraph about liposuction.]
And why should I pay taxes from my hard-earned money for illegal aliens? They snuck into this country illegally, so let them sneak back out if they get sick! And I sure as hell don’t want my taxes paying for them to have their babies on American soil! Then those babies would be natural-born Americans! One of them could end up being President, and they don’t even speak English! That’s just nuts!
What I really want from a national health care plan is something for my ADD. Is that how you spell it?
Anyway, so Bobama now seems to realize that maybe he was shooting a little high for his first six months in office. Trying to fix the American economy, retool the health care and insurance industries, and trying to find a reputable church that will accept his crazy mother-in-law, might just be asking a little too much from American voters. After all, they already gave him most of their money to assure his election, gave him the power to command our armed forces, and even shrugged off his secret past as a Muslim terrorist.
Maybe he was pushing it a bit. Maybe he should just settle for coming up with a plan for creating jobs. Then maybe we could afford to go to the doctor again!

Almost too funny. Pardon me while I pick myself up off from the floor.
Great piece and just the right snark. Loved it.
I’ve been thinking about this federal approach myself and have concluded that the only thing the fed should be doing is cutting inefficiencies and fraud (starting in their own houses) and then actually working with the states to create meaningful reform. The state of Florida, for example, has managed to offer it’s citizens accessible, affordable health insurance without spending dime of taxpayer money. While not perfect, it is a step in the right direction.
Now THIS is Health Care Reform
Everything Obama has done is scary and what he does do, its like ,whatever way the wind blows the hardest is the way he decides important issues. yesterday public option wasn’t important ,today it is on again, are other nations laughing at us?
the people that put him in office saying he was going to be a different kind of leader and they told the truth about that only we didn’t know what kind of different.
By the way, even if you don’t believe the thing about death panels, tell me how you can drop something from the plan if it wasn’t there?
Maybe part of the problem is that many folks who should be supporting the President in defeating the health insurance companies are instead siding with fools like this woman: http://thinkprogress.org/2009/08/18/hitler-israel/
The President can only do as much as we help him to do. If you guys want to be on the side that stops reform for some childish reason… I just can’t understand that.
It’s just so sad how much ignorance is out there… 26% of Republicans don’t even know that Medicare is a Government program. Think about that. This is what the President is up against. Ignorant mobs who want nothing to do with real facts.
Yea, life is tough. He is the Mess-iah, isn’t he? He is so intelligent he should be able to stand up to ignorant mobs or can he not? Whatever happened to “Yes, we can”
Stop whining.
Nothing is EVER Obama’s fault dontcha know!
Quit whining is right…yes you can!
Wrong advice. Keep whining. It puts some joy into my pathetic life to watch the “Cult of Obama” in panic mode.
Thank GOD he was ready on day one!
heh
*sigh* What’s the point of what you just said? In what way are you advancing anything positive? Add some positivity to the world.
http://www.standwithdrdean.com
http://www.healthcareforamericanow.org
We can get the health care reform our country needs. We just have to work for it. Obama is on our side. After 8 years of Bush, we finally have a President who cares about the American people again. Let us not squander that over petty differences.
He could have helped his mother with health insurance–but didn’t!
Hillary studied the healthcare issue for years, and WORKED on its solution. She slaved, working on the actual bill. Obama doesn’t have a clue, has left it to everyone else, and he’s been struggling since he assumed office.
In the 90s, the insurance and drug companies put up HUGE resistance to Hillary’s efforts at reform. In 2009, the insurance and drug companies (who were Obama’s biggest donors) are pushing for HIS reform (which isn’t even clear yet) and have cut deals with him. Obama didn’t even bring it up in the primaries until his hand was forced by Hillary.
Personally, I think you’re really dreaming if you think Obama cares about you, or about healthcare. To me, you sound really starry-eyed about this politician. You’re frustrated and think that WE are in the way. Nope. I think it’s your hero.
” If you guys want to be on the side that stops reform for some childish reason… I just can’t understand that.”
But it’s not a black/white situation (reform/no reform). There are various ways to create a reform of the health care situation, and within each potential plan, there are many parts with which people may disagree strongly.
Therefore, it stands to reason that there may be many people who want reform, but not THIS reform. That’s not being childish, IMO. That’s being a thoughtful grownup, evaluating what is being proposed rather than jumping on a bandwagon blindly.
“26% of Republicans don’t even know that Medicare is a Government program. Think about that… Ignorant mobs who want nothing to do with real facts.”
And almost half of the dem party thinks that BO “won” the nomination fairly. Ignorant mobs, alright lol (sorry, nony, you walked right into it!)
You are on a roll today.
lol.
Get out of my head!! I feel the same way.
Wow. You are seriously comparing your deluded conspiracy theories with something that’s a stone cold fact (Medicare is Government ran.) Seek help.
Nony, documented caucus fraud and an RBC stealing delegates from Hillary against their own rules is not a conspiracy. Do you honestly not know this? Get real.
oh please – the stealing votes from hillary crap is really pretty old – not to mention a big fat lie. believe what you want, the primaries will NEVER be over for you – and your ridiculous crusade against the president will eventually run its course. tell me what Hillary would have done differently about health care? and how her plan would have sailed through congress??? please, i would love to hear your answer – the beloved goddess comes to save us all.
if your joy comes from constant criticism and hate for the person who sits in the white house as a legitimate President, then you are truly a poor old sod. you don’t have to agree with him but these same old tunes just don’t have the sound anymore. tell me what you could do to right all the wrong in this country.
“The President can only do as much as we help him to do.”
And who helped Bush push through the ‘Surge’ in Iraq? We screamed our heads off. Bush did it anyway.
The President has enormous powers, even without supermajorities in both houses. Obama can do anything he wants. The Dems just don’t want to lose any seats. If they think the bill is good and they believe in it, pass the damn thing! If they lose seats in 2010, so be it.
You know, there are some leaders who do what they think is right no matter the political price — like McCain. What’s Obama’s priority — ‘Reform’ or keeping power?
Exactly so. If he truly believed in any of this, he would fight for it. No matter the consequences. Because he would be putting the people first. This truly is about maintaining power and governing whichever way the wind blows. That is not real leadership.
Further, something as important as health care reform requires bipartisan careful consideration — not ramming this through at lightning speed — or ever worse, try to sell the American people on something that doesn’t even exist yet — there are five bills out there. Why wouldn’t the American people be worried and angry about this when Congress is running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
Here’s a hot flash. If people don’t understand something – S L O W D O W N and explain it courteously and in plain English, in an informed and polite manner — people will likewise slow down eventually and listen to you. Instead the elistist Pelosi et al calling citizens “unamerican” for having the temerity to question the great Oz is preposterous and horrid. She deserves all the fallout she gets from this.
It also doesn’t help that President Obama does town halls and sort of pulls things out of his ear that are not factual. What kind of a reassuring explanation is that?
Here’s a hot flash. BO is menopausal? LOL Ani, does his healthcare pay for hormone treatments?
Look, idiot, Ozero isn’t interested in “defeating” the insurance companies. That’s why he made the backroom deals with them guaranteeing their profits.
I want reform–just not this reform. I want an opportunity to understand what the reform really means and I want those who legislate/manage the reform to know way more about the new program than I. Not the case here.
I can’t understand why the dems are whining. If they are so sure this is the right thing, the repubs can’t stop them. I just hope the American people do.
What mental illness causes you to believe that Ozero wants to “defeat” the alledged Med insurance companies? If he actually does that they will stop throwing money at him, which would be intolerable.
Obviously The Public Option is something they don’t want or they wouldn’t be going nuclear over trying to kill it. I can’t think of any better proof that’s a positive move for the country than that the private health insurance industry is doing everything they can to kill it.
Do something positive and try to help us get health care reform passed. Your children and grandchildren will thank you.
http://www.StandWithDrDean.com
Single payer would be a reform. This bill of 1000 pages that nearly nobody has read and or understands scares me. Why can’t these guys just be honest about what their intentions are? Obama had it all. He could have been one of the greatest Presidents ever based on circumstance alone. I didn’t vote for him, and I didn’t trust his intentions going in. But instead of proving people wrong… he has just validated their fears. He was poised to potentially accomplish so much. He just needed to be honest with the people and lead instead of following the dishonest congress. Now, it is probably already too late.
Well said!
going nuclear over trying to kill it.
Healthcare in the form of a “mushroom cloud” ???
And as Pogo once said…”Who are us?” Really would like to know WHO it is you think you are helpin?
I am one of those people that ObamaCare wants to withdraw all treatment from and prescribe only “pain pills” for. Until that crap is removed (and you can document its removal) don’t talk to me about supporting the passage of the ObamaCare 1000-page Encyclopedia-o-Death.
Ignorant mobs who want nothing to do with real facts..
Hey mouse, “how to win friends and influence people” you must have missed.
Besides if “ignorant mobs” is what you object to, then why is BO POTUS?
You weren’t complaining then where ya? Naw thought not.
Pity the minority of minorities are not who are in charge. But that causes you concern. BTW, ignorance is an equal opportunity human condition, not a political one.
“26% of Republicans don’t even know that Medicare is a Government program.”
Real facts? Is the above a “real fact” like the one Obama mouthed about surgeons performing unnecessary amputations because of their huge booty of $50,000 to amputate a limb? Beware Obamabots spouting “real facts” – that means: “things I make up to get people to do what I want to do.”
I have a “real fact” for you: 3 VA hospitals (i.e., government-run, like Medicare) didn’t properly disinfect their equipment when performing colonoscopies; at least one vet in Miami contracted HIV as a result and hundreds more are in danger of having contracted any number of diseases and conditions.
Ask those vets what they think about government-run health care.
The above is a “real fact” because it’s a FACT that Medicare is a Government run health insurance plan. That’s why.
Your point is an anecdote. There are many many MANY anecdotes of how private health insurance has failed people.
How about the over 10,000 Americans who have already died this year because of insufficient medical care?
How about the nearly one million Americans who go bankrupt due to medical expenses every year?
That’s a pretty shocking number. Isn’t it? You know what’s most shocking? 75% of those nearly one million had private health insurance.
Even worse than that? Nearly 50% of those with private health insurance who get seriously sick or injured (ie they start to cost their insurance company money) have their coverage canceled so their insurance company can save money.
Wendell Potter is the smoking gun: http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/07102009/profile.html
Private health insurance is a scam. Wake up and start fighting for the right side.
http://www.HealthCareForAmericaNow.org
You dodged requiredreading’s question (like that is a surprise…).
The people speaking of Meidcare realize full well that it is government run. They like it because it BELONGS to them! They PAID for it their whole working lives, so it is NOT a right, it is something they PURCHASED for their old age. The REASON it is always going broke IS because it is government run. They refuse to get rid of the waste and fraud in the system BECAUSE they are in the pocket of the lobbyists.
Even then, retired people still have to spend MORE money if they want complete coverage without going broke trying to pay for what medicare does not. Then there is medicade which is of course totally free because it is given to people WHO NEVER worked for it. That makes sence right? People who worked and paid for medicare have their bills only paid 80/20 and people who did not work have their bills paid 100%
The left only makes themselves sound even MORE ignorant and un-informed when they try to make the case that people who say don’t touch my medicare do not realize it is government run.
Just have medicare and be very sick and old and you can watch the doctors say it is time to tame mom home. Not that she is well, not that there is no more they can do, BECAUSE THEY HAVE DONE ALL MEDICARE WILL PAY TO DO! So you see medicare ALREADY HAS the death panels and don’t try to tell me they do not because I have SEEN them in action FIRST HAND!
If you loons want health care put off that car payment, or do without cabel, or don’t eat out AND PAY FOR IT! That is what the rest of us do. If you are too poor for that, then go get medicade, or get on disability. That is what my husband had to do.
This is the most giving, loving, charitable country in the world but WE decide who we GIVE to. We WILL NOT have it TAKEN from us at gunpoint!
No. No. No.
These 26% of Republicans DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT MEDICARE IS A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM. Stop trying to make excuses for their ignorance.
There’s no excuse for that.
Furthermore I think it’s very important to point out that Medicare has 4% overhead compared to the 30% overhead of private health insurance. Medicare is far more efficient than private health insurance.
Lastly, all of the same lies that the right wing are trying to sell people about The Public Option today – they tried to sell back in the 1960s re: Medicare. They were wrong then and they are wrong today.
Get on the right side of history for once: http://www.HealthCareForAmericaNow.org
Fight for something positive. Do something for your children and your grandchildren instead of wallowing in your paranoia and fear. It’s disgusting.
I think people make the distinction… and rightly so… between Medicare and welfare type programs. Both are entitlements and both cost money, but Medicare is something seen as being earned… whereas welfare is seen as something for nothing. Not that there aren’t cases out there that would stand that argument on it’s head… certainly there are. I think this is part of that confusion.
Dear Mr. No: Where did you get your “fact” that “26% of Republicans don’t know that Medicare is a government program” — http://www.obamatron.com?
No doubt that those 26% of Republicans come from all 57 states. Now, document that 26% figure or else shove it.
“…supporting the President in defeating the health insurance companies”
I just noticed this line. Nony, he’s cutting deals with the insurance industry and the drug companies. Where are you getting all this awe of Obama? Did you decide a year ago to believe his campaign stuff hook, line, and sinker, and then you just stopped reading the news….? No snark, but I just have this feeling you have no idea of any specifics about him – it’s all just this general, dreamy wonderment.
And as Congressman Anthony Weiner asked Joe S: “What value do the private health insurance companies bring?” They do nothing but skim 30% of profits off the top while standing in the way between patients and their doctors. They are a national disgrace. A scam.
Then why did Obama secretly invite these evil-doers to the WH (thru the back door natch)?? Did he do some kind of “laying of hands” and heal the sinners?
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/washingtondc/la-na-healthcare-talks22-2009jul22,0,1752248.story
Don’t forget the mother in law and her goat and chicken ….
imust, maybe he invited them to get a “Chicago cut” of the profits…. he’ll have a tv appearance every day for 50 days straight to announce that he got them to cut their profits down to 20%, and not mention that it’s still 30%, but 10% is now going to him!
Someone should build a better mouse trap.
Please!
Priceless!
They are a for profit business. Capitalism makes our country run. Do I like insurance companies? No
But I will fight for their rights to continue. Have they paid me to say this. No.
Were you paid to blogg here?
Capitalism is a religion for some people. They’ll support the concept even if it means their own death. The corporations have really got you fooled. How about you consider the idea that maybe your religion isn’t always right?
If you really believe in 100% free markets then you would be against public education, medicare, and a whole host of other governmental programs. Are you? If not then then you are being illogical in your opposition to The Public Option.
And no, I was not paid to comment here. I comment because I believe in health care reform because I know the facts about this issue and it makes me very sad to see so many people work against their own self interest because they’ve been fed a series of lies by corporations and their propaganda machines (like Fox News.)
It can be Mouse, if money is the most important thing, it can become a sort of a false god. But in turn there is an element of humanism that is coming out of this Presidency in the form of some cult worship of this man. Both are equally false as religions go. At least to me they are both false. But the thing is, false is a value judgment that is different for all of us when it comes to matters of religion.
Like those $600 earrings–miss you Michelle; or how about some Kobe beef at $80 per pound for Obama’s parties. He’s all for the little guy is that right?
They’ll support the concept even if it means their own death.
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Many have and I hold them in the highest regard.
Wow. Kind of speechless at your opening comment.
What in the world do you think keeps our country running, evolving, and prospering?
I just returned from a 5-week educational trip to Argentina, where I was studying Spanish. They struggle with the concept of capitalism there and are leaning more socialist with their newly elected officials. The DOCTORS that I stayed with refuse to use the public medical system – they pay for better care with their own money. And, no, they are not wealthy, contrary to what their professions “say” about their status. They just know the reality of what is offered to them with that system and make another CHOICE.
Oh, another thing, you aren’t supposed to flush your toilet paper in Argentina – you drop it in a bucket. Why? Look up “lacks infrastructure” and ask yourself why – should you dare.
Lastly, without this capitalism, that you so despise, your life would be far less fulfilling. Of that, I am 100% certain.
Go back to school, troll. I work in health care, and yes, we need reform. But not this slop-pail full of bureaucracy that has nothing to do with lowering costs and improving care.
So by your example eating is a right. Everyone has to eat. So I should be able to go to Wal Mart every week, or McDonalds every day and order up, eat, and walk out. We gotta eat right? Why should we have to pay for those buildings, or those people, and why should the Waltons expect to make a profit supplying something that the people have to have.
NEW RULE: NO PROFITS FOR ANY EVIL AMERICAN BUSINESS. Everything is free because people do not want to pay for it.
It is like that woman said when Oblab was elected. “I won’t have to worry about paying my rent, or putting gas in my car” Thank God, the mesiah is here! Everything is now free because those evil people who expect to make money will be called out by the One.
What a bunch of communist drivel!
Actually I think a more apt comparison is education. Are you against public education? Do you think only rich children should have a chance to go to school?
Progress is a good thing. National health care is a good thing. Just like public education is a good thing. You see the “good old days” were actually really awful for the majority of people. Back in the “good old days” before the government got involved in things like education and health care (40% of Americans already have some form of governmental health insurance) only the rich had access to education or quality health care.
This doesn’t mean that we can’t have capitalism. This doesn’t mean that we can’t have entrepreneurs. It just means that there are some basic things that shouldn’t be left up to the free market because it’s proven itself to be incompatible with the end goal.
The fact is that socialized health insurance is not a new idea. It’s already been tried in countries all around the world (including the US as Medicare) and it’s been proven time and time again to be more effective than private health insurance companies.
And I find it interesting that not a single person can answer the question: “What Value Do Private Health Insurance Companies Bring?” All you can answer with is your religion of capitalism. The truth is they bring nothing. They don’t make a single person healthier. All they deal is scam the American people out of their hard earned money.
We need Medicare For All (single payer) but The Public Option is a reasonable compromise and hopefully the first step towards that in the long run.
http://www.HealthCareForAmericaNow.org
In this system we have, in the absence of a single health care system it spreads risk. That has been abused though. The system as we have it has evolved into more of a prepaid medical care as opposed to a true risk pool. If there were a single payer system, the insurers would provide nothing at all of value besides maybe covering the risk of various non covered items or procedures. I would be for single payer as well. I am not for a disingenuous tweener of a plan that nobody understands.
Also I’d like to point out that your comparison to eating is way off the market.
If I asked “what value does mcdonalds bring?” you could easily say “affordable quick meals to people in a hurry and/or who don’t have a lot of money”
Again “what value do private health insurance companies bring?” They don’t make anyone healthy. All they do is stand between a patient and their doctor (doctors are constantly complaining about how difficult it is to deal with private insurance companies, medicare is far easier) while skimming a huge amount of money off the top.
But, if we say that profit taking by insurers in health care is totally wrong… then is it wrong that they insure our homes and our cars also for profit. At the end of this should the government control all the industries that everybody uses and needs such as utilities, insurance and maybe food? I am for a form of single payer in health, but insurers should be allowed to sell policies to cover non covered items or to pay for upgraded care plans… i.e. single beds, no waiting for non emergency care at a upgraded fee etc. Just recognize this as the slippery slope it is and then proceed if the return is worth that risk.
Why don’t you just debate yourself, that way you’d both be right all the time.
But, AC, he’s finally learned how to use the % key.
Hey, Mouse, if public education is so exemplary, why is a voucher program needed? And why do the Obama daughters go to Sidwell?
Take your Axelrod talking points over to the Daily Kos.
Loved the snark, even the part about the non-citizens sneaking across the border, having their baby on US soil and then the child grows up to be president of the US. Couldn’t happen because the kid wouldn’t be a natural born citizen, not that anybody’s checking!
oldmedia: This is exactly what happened with Alberto Gonzales. He never could account for how and when his grandparents entered the U. S. He finally admitted they came in illegally.
He was a great role model for hispanics, no?
I like the idea of insurance co-ops…if Congress can come up with a good law…which is something you never want to bet on. Maybe hippie-types are into co-ops, but I think the concept originated as a populist measure to provide needed services for rural areas, farms, and others who don’t find themselves in the bullseye of the greedy capitalist money grubbers.
Obama and Congress really should be devoting their energies to determing incentives and opportunities to create jobs. Your point is right on and funny!
As a taxpayer I have never gotten to choose how my considerable contribution would/will be spent. If I were able to choose I would much prefer my taxes go to affordable, universal health care for all, as Hillary Clinton described in the primaries, and I would prefer that not one of my dollars would be spent on bailouts of banks, insurance companies and corporations that have shown such incompetence, in their criminal and unethical business practices, yet taxpayers dollars are thrown over with no accountability whatsoever. Corporate welfare is not the way I want my taxes spent. Those bailout beneficiaries are the reason for the bad economy, for the credit crunch and for the job losses. It’s just crazy to reward bad behavior with taxpayer monies. If I were able to choose how my tax payments were spent I would not throw those dollars at war in Afghanistan and Iraq and again at the corporations in the military industrial complex or the no-bid contractors. If I were king, ha, ha…
I like the idea of insurance co-ops
*********
That has been tried and doesn’t work, especially when Congress has the deck stacked in favor of the Insurance Companies. The co-ops end up being the “dumping” ground for high risk people. The high premium costs are subsidized with tax dollars and the programs eventually go broke.
No matter what scheme is dreamed up, the bottom line is that affordable health care is impossible when $600 billion a year is being sucked out of the system by the insurance companies and when we are paying twice the cost that Canada and Europeans pay for the same medicines.
Can’t be done!!!
When our government decided that there were families with children who were suffering because hardships meant that they would not have enough money to eat, the government set up a program that kept those families fed using food stamps. The government did not take over all of stores and supermarkets in the country and convert the entire country to a socialistic government-run nationwide food distribution bureaucracy. Can you image if it had? We would be getting only the amount of food-stuffs that the government thought or decided we should have? The elderly would be cut back severely because, since they no longer work, perhaps a can of non-gourmet cat food per day would do.
What then gives bureaucrats the idea that if a few million individuals, or families, need to (or should) have insurance and/or healthcare, the government needs to take over the entire health care system in order for those few to have a health care plan?
Could it be that the solution to the problem is simpler than meets the eye? Like the food stamp programs, perhaps the government should just allow for applications from those who feel they need health care assistance and take their application. After verifying their income resources, the government could just give those few individuals and/or families a subsidy. So they can afford health care, buy down the policy.
Then, the government should do what a government should do — that is, do whatever it takes to promote and motivate the economy — encourage enhance trade incentives — so that those same people, the poverty-line folks, can earn decent wages and have jobs that allow them to work for a living instead of idling by on welfare.
I guess this idea is too simple. But how about this: The poor don’t have decent clothing; perhaps the government should take over Macy, Wal-Mart, J.C. Penny’s, and all clothing retailers so that EVERYONE can have clothing allotted to them controlled though a socialist government run clothing care program with an emphasis on clothing those working and under 65 years of age.
The new bumper sticker against Obama.
http://bumperstickers.cafepress.ca/item/lol-obama-sticker-bumper/392049541
Ha! I like that one, “Obama care: Call us when you’re shovel-ready” lol
That one should have a picture of an open gravesite.
Harp—Thanks…these are a scream!
I know they thought they’d show the Clintons how to get health care done and I just have to laugh that the silver-tongued devil and all his advisors were tone deaf as to how the public was responding.
He was never for universal health care (he spent more than $6 million attacking Hillary’s plan) and he made a back room deal with Big Pharma. So who is really surprised?
And the American people want something for free–it’s just ridiculous. We should all pay, like we do for social security, and we should all get health care. It was a stupid plan to have the “rich” pay for the health care of the uninsured or to raise taxes only on the middle class who are getting health care now in order to pay for the uninsured.
Read about Germany’s plan here from a piece on NPR

It’s not govt run but everyone pays and everyone gets great benefits.
There are a myriad of good solutions to make health care available to every American but the arrogant team in the White House couldn’t figure this out because Obama has no leadership skills.
Axelrod was president and sole shareholder of AKPD from 1985 until he sold his interest after Obama’s victory, government records show. The firm owes Axelrod $2 million, which it’s due to pay in installments beginning Dec. 31. Axelrod’s son, Michael, still works there. He didn’t return a phone call. The firm’s Web site continues to feature David Axelrod’s work on the Obama campaign.
…At the White House, Axelrod’s role in the health-care debate ranges from Sunday talk show appearances to meetings with House and Senate lawmakers…
Van Ess said HEN is now dormant. PhRMA and three other members of HEN, plus the Washington-based Federation of American Hospitals, have created another coalition, Americans for Stable Quality Care, which last week announced a new $12 million ad campaign to promote health-care overhaul. GMMB and AKPD are also working on the new coalition’s ads.
http://michellemalkin.com/
Axelrod also worked with Michelle Obama at the University of Chicago Hospital where thay hatched the plan to bus uninsured and indigents to other area hospitals just so it would’nt cut into their profit margin. Apparently it was very successful, in 2007 the UCH made a profit of over $83 million (net). That’s why she got such a big raise ($162K up to $316K) The hospital directors also shared in multi-million bonuses.
Our insurance premiums keep going up because non-profit hospitals like UCH keep gouging insured patients and it gets passed back down the line to us.
Incidentally, ALL hospitals have “Charity Case” programs which are supposed to be funded by the profits they make, and are intended to cover people who do not have insurance or who cannot pay, SO,— given this fact, “why do we need a health care plan to cover them?”
and you want us to take Michelle Malkin, the queen of biggotry’s opinion on anything?? she has a habit of telling not little white lies, but big fat lies about every Democrat around – unbelievable that you would put her link to any post you write – its embarrassing and says a lot about you.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY would anyone want this nimrod to run ANYTHING to do with your health?
CBO predicts it’s absolutely unsustainable and will therefore have to go into crisis mode which means that people will be rationed healthcare and they will DIE.
Why do you want Obama the usurper to take control of 50% of the US economy? Wha? 30% isn’t enough?
He’s a liar, a patho liar, all he’s done is bankrupt the nation, loot us blind, disarm us, unemploy us, lie constantly about transparency, overspending, earmarks, pork, taxes, and HE’S NOT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN he admits he was born British!
Wow, what a mess.
Steve, you’ve inspired me. Reading your piece gave me the possible solution to ALL of our problems.
What if we were to purchase from China all of the organs that we need at higher than the usual price for such things? They have millions of political prisoners that could certainly do without one of their lungs or kidneys, and of course the many executions, if performed with clinically controlled procedures, could flood our market with hearts, livers, eyes, etc. What a Corpse-ucopia of bounty and good will. And stateside, just imagine how the recipients of Chinese organs will heat up the market for suppliers of won-tons and Peking duck. This is a win win possibility!
We could simultaneously solve a large part of our health care concerns AND our fiscal obligations to the ChiComs. I’m surprised Obama hasn’t proposed this, after all, he’s an expert at panda-ring.
“I know they thought they’d show the Clintons how to get health care done … ”
Yeah, this is what galls me. Obama said Hillary’s long history battling the VRWC made her too polarizing. He claimed he could work with the Radical Right and move past the ‘old conflicts.’
But when he ran into the same firestorm Hillary did, he sent out his press flunkies crying ‘those racist redneck right wing Nazis don’t like my healthcare bill just because I’m black.’ Polarize much?
true that!
He pissed me off SO many times in the primary rippng on her and her efforts, and her plan. He doesn’t even know what he is trying to do. (Which really isn’t anything, Pelosi, et al are doing it all). He thought he could waltz in and get it done. But he doesn’t even fight for anything, he bends like the wind.
Exactly.
Dude is a mascot sent out to pep rally Americans into supporting a bill that Pelosi wrote. Hillary actually helped write the healthcare bill she was promoting, something that Obama wouldn’t even know how to do and he has the sheer audacity to criticize her?? I never could stand this man.
Like someone said. This HC mess is Hillarys revenge. She knew it was a quagmire, so she brought it up in the campaign, knowing the greatest zero would steal it and make it his own.
The October surprise late, but timely.
believe she could have begun to solved this problem and that’s why she initiated it–she has thought about this for a long time and as President could have pushed harder.
You got that right! And he thinks he has cornered her up by placing other people in positions that should be hers. Not wise to piss her off. If anyone thinks she gave up her senate seet for just the SS job they are crazy. But the more his numbers drop, the more you will hear from her. Soon little “leaks” of information will start coming out and after that he will not be able to fart without it making headlines. She will be cutting his throat every day, and he will not be able to stop the bleeding.
There are plenty of provision already for poor people to get health care. It’s called the “sliding scale” and goes through the local health departments. My sister had brain trauma injury with no income or insurance. I took her to the health dept clinic and only paid $12.00 for her to be seen. Why don’t more folks hear about/do that?
Reform yes….revamp without the money to pay for it is just ridiculous. Especially since the government run Medicare program is proved to be a mess with fraud and abuse. That needs cleaned up first.
Priorities are the answer here….not a massive push without knowing what is actually in the bill and how the nuances can be interpreted later on.
I do hope your sister recovered.
I suppose it has different names in different states, but here it’s called CMS. The very poor can use it, but many working poor “make too much” to qualify. Even for food stamps, a single person has to make under $1000 a month to qualify. Here, their RENT is probably $1000 a month. So even for food stamps, people have to be awfully poor.
So I agree that there is help for the very poor, but I think often the working poor are left out in the cold. Their jobs don’t offer insurance, and they certainly can’t afford a private policy, and they don’t qualify for the “safety net”.
(Although, if a mom has kids, she can have the kids get free medical coverage – but I heard somewhere (not sure) that this was recently discontinued because of our budget woes)
Medicare for anybody who wants to BUY IN
Dear President Obama,
I understand you’re thinking of dumping your “public option” because of all the demagoguery by Sarah Palin and Dick Armey and Newt Gingrich and their crowd on right-wing radio and Fox. Fine. Good idea, in fact.
Instead, let’s make it simple. Please let us buy into Medicare.
It would be so easy. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel with this so-called “public option” that’s a whole new program from the ground up. Medicare already exists. It works. Some people will like it, others won’t – just like the Post Office versus FedEx analogy you’re so comfortable with.
Just pass a simple bill – it could probably be just a few lines, like when Medicare was expanded to include disabled people – that says that any American citizen can buy into the program at a rate to be set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) which reflects the actual cost for us to buy into it.
So it’s revenue neutral!
To make it available to people of low income, raise the rates slightly for all currently non-eligible people (like me – under 65) to cover the cost of below-200%-of-poverty people. Revenue neutral again.
Most of us will do damn near anything to get out from under the thumbs of the multi-millionaire CEOs who are running our current insurance programs. Sign me up!
This lets you blow up all the rumors about death panels and grandma and everything else: everybody knows what Medicare is. Those who scorn it can go with Blue Cross. Those who like it can buy into it. Simplicity itself.
Of course, we’d like a few fixes, like letting Medicare negotiate drug prices and filling some of the holes Republicans and AARP and the big insurance lobbyists have drilled into Medicare so people have to buy “supplemental” insurance, but that can wait for the second round. Let’s get this done first.
Simple stuff. Medicare for anybody who wants it. Private health insurance for those who don’t. Easy message. Even Max Baucus and Chuck Grassley can understand it. Sarah Palin can buy into it, or ignore it. No death panels, no granny plugs, nothing. Just a few sentences.
Replace the “you must be disabled or 65″ with “here’s what it’ll cost if you want to buy in, and here’s the sliding scale of subsidies we’ll give you if you’re poor, paid for by everybody else who’s buying in.” (You could roll back the Reagan tax cuts and make it all free, but that’s another rant.)
We elected you because we expected you to have the courage of your convictions. Here’s how. Not the “single payer Medicare for all” that many of us would prefer, but a simple, “Medicare for anybody who wants to buy in.”
Respectfully,
Thom Hartmann
Why does the MSM and virtually everyone else forget to explain the BOON to the economy that expanding Medicare would bring. The private insurance jobs lost would quickly be absorbed in the new system. For instance, according to John Nichols article in CommonDreams, “expanding Medicare to include the uninsured, and those on Medicaid or employer-sponsored health plans, and expanding coverage for those with limited Medicare, would:
1. Create 2,613,495 million new permanent good-paying jobs (slightly exceeding the number of jobs lost in 2008) — and jobs that are not easily shipped overseas
2. Boost the economy with $317 billion in increased business and public revenues
3. Add $100 billion in employee compensation
4. Infuse public budgets with $44 billion in new tax revenues”
What’s wrong with that?

Ummmmm and just who is going to treat all of these new medicare recipients? Doctors now will not take medicare because it does not pay enough, and there is too much paperwork, and it takes them too long to get their money.
Also, there are not enough doctors and nurses to treat all of these new people who will be running into their offices. So the rationing will begin! Longer wait times for office visits, and treatments. Procedures which will be cut off because there are not enough people to do everything…and we are off and running.
How many times do we have to say it.
Neat.
For anyone interested, David Axelrod might have a pretty big problem. A story is breaking this morning. According to a Bloomberg story, Axelrod’s former firm is currently receiving huge fees “from Healthy Economy Now, a coalition that includes the Washington-based Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, known as PhRMA,” as well as AARP, the SEIU and other big players in the health care debate.
Looks like the GOP is going to push this, but I’ll be curious to see what, if any, attention it gets from the MSM (Pravda).

This is pure Chicago machine action. Remember the 150 million from Pharma for ads for their “promise” to not raise prices a tiny 80 billion over the next 10 years so they could continue to gouge prices forever. Chicago pols take pennies so the public can be defrauded for enormous amounts. Consider 150 million the bribe (laundered through a PR company rather than a book deal or a house) for Pharma to get a trillion. Chicago works cheap.
Did anyone notice that there was no “outcry” when the joker artist turned out to be a liberal Palestine man from Chicago? hmmmmmmmm been a whitey they would have ridden that “racist” sacred cow for years.
Halliburton Part Two
Also in the works is a reaching out to faith based groups to support O’s health care plan; I guess we are going to be hit with the “morality” of the situation. Perhaps there should be a long look in the mirror before any further action is pushed on this plan, trying to guilt people into it will not work. This upset is I believe directly mostly at health care, but also a large amount of piss off at the politician’s and media for being so incredibly disrespectful to the American people, over the past few years. Interesting note this morning on the news, the largest block of voters that have stopped supporting O, suburban women…hmm imagine! can’t he just wipe that off his shoulder’s, or scratch his nose and it will all go away? Maybe just add a little lipstick to the situation? Looks like not only is the Emperor naked, he is wearing a court jesters hat!

PRESIDENT OBAMA HOLDS A CONFERENCE CALL ON HEALTH CARE NEXT WEEK aimed at progressive/liberal faith organizations, which asked him to do the call, per the White House. “Engaging the Faith Community on Health Care Reform,” Wednesday, 5 p.m., 347-996-5501, no passcode. Church members are being invited to set up their own house meeting to listen to the audio webcast. And congregations are being urged to set up their own gatherings to listen to the call, then discuss and strategize. “Invite the media,” a flier says.
http://faithforhealth.org/
2 questions:
1. What is set to happen in 40 days?
2. Was there an open invitation to all religious groups(I know the answer already).
1. What is set to happen in 40 days?
At the very least, I’m afraid it means he will remain on TV every day for the next 40 days…
1) Noah returns?
2) Did they invite the members of Mrs Palin’s church?
1) Noah returns?
Uh-oh. What do you want to bet that Noah won’t like “bitter white clingers”….? I’ll bet ACORN gets a seat on that ark….
What about the seperation between church and state? According to articles I read Obama ignored that law and campaigned in at least one church as did Michelle. He is like a spoled child and does as he chooses. Because his handlers including the msm cover for him.
Democrat: Grassley’s fear of euthanasia in ObamaCare is an “act of treason”
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/08/19/democrat-grassleys-fear-of-euthanasia-in-obamacare-is-an-act-of-treason/
Yes, they were talking about that last night on Fox. This is going to be the new argument. They tried calling us names, then they tried calling insurance names, now they want to GUILT us into it. “If you do not support it, you are terrible human beings, and have no feelings for your fellow man, blah, blah, blah.” Their only problem is they already tried to cut off charitable deductions for people which was outed so they shut up about it. And, they have already pissed us off by calling us un-American, racist, evil mongers so why should we care if now we are unfeeling, uncharitable people.
And terrorists and they called Sen. Grassley’s Health Care Comments ‘Act of Treason’
http://www.breitbart.tv/ny-congressman-calls-sen-grassleys-health-care-comments-act-of-treason/
Obama adviser’s population views
Arizona Congressman Trent Franks is voicing some worries regarding John Holdren, who serves as President Barack Obama’s science czar.
Something went awry and my link went with it.
What part of more doctors, more hospital beds, and a longer life expectancy for way less money with single payer don’t you get?
That’s single payer not free.
That you get treatment for your ailments based on your medical needs not some company’s profit sheet?
That instead of a 30% overhead it’s would be like Medicare’s 2-3%, big savings right there.
That emergency rooms won’t be crowded with those who put off going to a GP for a minor problem because they didn’t have the money.
By all means, if the above doesn’t appeal to you then don’t support single payer.
I find it amusing that those against single payer because somebody might lose their job never gave those of us in the manufacturing sector who are out of work a second thought. Or if they did it was,”We deserved it for beloning to a greedy union”
Unfortunately single payer is not in the equation. That along with drug prices was bargained away by the WH for 150 million in ads and for past campaign donations. What part of “pay to play” do you not understand? I would welcome single payer, government option, price controls or anything to expand coverage and stop the gouging of the public but the HC industry does not want it and they own the WH and most of Congress.
Exactly where do you think these “more doctors” are going to come from? As it stands now my husband leaves for the hospital at 6:30am and some days doesn’t get home ’til after 9pm. Do you really expect doctors to take on more patients for less money?
Until the question of who will care for all the additional people is solved, the idea of universal health care is unattainable.
Congress is going to fall on their swords for dear leader and pass Death Care, with all its worst proposals. He will try and help boost his falling ratings by pretending he is against it. Congress are aware that their replacements, the czars are moving in. What their worry? They have their HC in place and their pensions, and they know in an honest election they are gone. Watch and see. It is all smoke and mirrors and the man behind the curtain reigns as king.
Bachus discusses Social Security, health care
TUSCALOOSA | “Social Security could face default within two years,” U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus predicted here Tuesday. “The situation is much worse than people realize, especially because of the problems brought on by the recession, near depression.
http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20090818/NEWS/908189977/1007?Title=Bachus-discusses-Social-Security-health-care
” Congress are aware that their replacements, the czars are moving in. ”
This is worrisome, because it suggests instead of fighting, they’re going to cave. I read that it’s not even constitutional or against some law that czars aren’t approved by congress. So why is nothing done about that? These politicians routinely lie, the RBC broke its own rules, czars are possibly unconstitutional – why is there no accountability anymore? There can be no trust in government like this. And our style of government is supposed to be superior because of being a nation of laws – pfffttt – means nothing if nothing happens when you lie, cheat, and break the laws….
The czars I thik are very dangerous. There are now 44 and the next ones planned I read are
Income redistribution
Land-use
Mortgage formally “consumer financial protection ”
Radio-internet fairness
Student loan , to oversee a program of mandatory service in return for college money
Voter list
Zoning
Whose income and land? Who will get what is now ours, due to our hard work and being careful with money?
Guess sites like this will be shut down while MoveOn twitters away.
“his flaccid attempts to re-invent the American health care nightmare, he seems to have lost his will to bleed for it.:
aha…..I see the problem. He has been taking the red pill, the blue pill works much better.
He never had a plan, that’s why he’s incoherent in trying to explain. I go back to the debates where he was always agreeing with “what Hillary said”. Hillary had the DETAILS because it was something she actually worked on and truly believed. Obama has no core believes…it was always about saying what people wanted to hear in order to win.
It’s amazing that the Dem leadership can’t understand why people of all stripes are upset. Healthcare is an important issue that deserves detailed attention. Obama’s “throw it against the wall and see what sticks” approach is not cutting it. We got a glimpse of what REAL committment to the healthcare issue involves and Obama with his double talk ain’t it!!!!
I think your comment is right on.
I especially mourn the apparent loss in our country of valuing commitment, principles, and hard work. Hillary was such a good role model, for both genders, because of her work ethic. (Wasn’t our country founded on the “Protestant work ethic”….?) That we’ve come so far so value flash over substance – well, I guess we are getting what we deserve with Obama…
I agree.
He doesn’t even know what he’s talking about and so he will have a hard time explaining it to us.
Axelrod and Pelosi should have given him better healthcare cliffnotes or something.
“concealing a Rush Limbaugh doll” Are we siding with Rush Limbaugh now? Isn’t that overreacting just a bit? I don’t like Obama, but I’m not going to jump on the bandwagon of some extremist propagandist because I don’t like the current occupant. Never forget that Rush Lilmbaugh and Fox News brought us Dubya.
Is your humor detector broken, tek?
Limbaugh is one of BO’s favorite scapegoats or bogeymen, so he seemed like a natural target for his voodoo doll.
If you have a better nominee, put it out there!
or your brain is broken, son. never underestimate the loudness of people without a clue.
I kinda giggled when I read the paragraph that states….
“Anyway, so Bobama now seems to realize that maybe he was shooting a little high for his first six months in office. ……..After all, they already gave him most of their money to assure his election, gave him the power to command our armed forces, and even shrugged off his secret past as a Muslim terrorist.”
Very entertaining piece.
We will have healthcare reform with a public option. To the idiot who claims he has a secret past as a Muslim terrorist, here’s a little bit of information for your sorry ass. Obama’s only secret past is working as a “researcher” for Business International Corporation. That is why you will NEVER see his college or travel records. BIC conducted international research on a variety of sensitive topics for the CIA. That’s right — your accusations that he is some type of terrorist is hilarious. He was working for you, fool — as an undercover agent while in college. The CIA paid his travel and tuition and it’s all classified. Grow a brain.
I believe the author was employing literary devices to make his point. Hyperbole. Poetic license. Irony. Sarcasm.
Are you trying to “Plame” the Prez?
John Strong wrote: “your accusations that he is some type of terrorist is hilarious.”
GOOD! Then you got the joke!
Oh, wait, maybe you didn’t. It’s kind of hard to judge from your comment. I tried to make it obvious that I was joking around. Some people can’t tell sarcasm from commentary, so perhaps I should insert little smileys
when I am being sarcastic, just for the clueless.
As for the rest of your comment, I’m nonplussed! I can interpret this either as your own sarcasm, or that you somehow have inside information about Obama being involved in the CIA. Seems like maybe Larry Johnson would have some inside knowledge on that.
On the other hand, if you do have this information, and as you claim, it’s all classified, then you are no better than that idiot Bob Novak who outed Valerie Plame, since you are blabbing this classified information on a known anti-Obama blog.
If I hold the rock up for a minute, could you please crawl back under it?
Oh, you mean the same Business International Corporation critized by leftist for being instrumental in supporting black ops CIA operations that prop up dictators in places like Central America?
You’re not helping your argument here with this one.
That may explain why those laptops belonging to a terrorist organization, that were seized from a certain latin american country that seemed to be linked to him. Glad you explained why his name would be in emails. Here I thought they were just nasty vile articles and now we find they were real. Makes me feel so much better. Bet the Pakistan trip was another
blackcladestine operation. right? ummmmm crickets eh?
lol
Aw geez! (Fargo). I was going to keep going, having made it to the bitter end, but the wind blew me back here.
John Strong, this is the best “crap” about Obama being a stringer for the CIA I have ever heard, as to why he won’t release ANYTHING verifiable about his holy transparency.
Keep up the good work.
Hey guys! I havent been on in a while, I got a little burn’t out after the elections! I have a question for you that is off topic.
Durling the election there was someone on here who would comment frequently and her name was simply “Orly”. was that THE Orly Taitz?
I can’t say definitively, but in my travels around the net, I’ve never noticed Orly posting in any blogs. I think she has her own website, though, if that’s any help.
Never noticed that name here.
Health CARE in the UK coming soon to the US
A young mother gave birth on a pavement outside a hospital after she was told to make her own way there. Mother-of-three Carmen Blake called her midwife to ask for an ambulance when she went into labour unexpectedly with her fourth child. But the 27-year-old was refused an ambulance and told to walk the 100m from her house in Leicester to the city’s nearby Royal Infirmary. ‘They said they were not sending an ambulance and told me I had had nine months to sort out a lift.’
Yikes! I hope there were no complications.
This article articulates what single payer health care is and some of the problems with a “co-op”. Obamacare is not single payer health care.
http://onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_5032.shtml
Okay Steve–you’ve done it now. You’ve messed with Chango and his worshippers, and this is definitely more dangerous than the sort of Islamic blasphemy that lands you on the Salman Rushdie honor roll. I suggest that you keep close track of your fingernail clippings, and only go to barbers that you trust. Make sure you put ALL of the sweepings in a plastic bag and take them home for secure disposal.
Maybe I should buy some Zombie Insurance!

Cash for clunkers is a SIMPLE program. Buy a car, get your discount, drive off right? Well dealerships are now learning the lesson of trusting this administration. They are going broke and fast! They have millions fronted in discounts, and the government is not paying up! Only 2% of the money has been paid to dealers who have sold cars. Some have millions fronted already. Some are stopping the program because they dont want to front any more. 4 in 5 applications are being TURNED DOWN by the government for silly things having nothing to do with the actual deal.
SO WHERE THE HELL IS OUR 3 BILLION DOLLARS? They sure as hell have not given it to the dealers? Going to Brazil maybe for the oil deal?
This stinks of Rahm. They knew they could not get their hands on Toyota, they also knew that the lowest milage cars are Toyotas, they know their biggest competition comes from Ford and Toyota, so hey lets bankrupt a bunch of their dealerships! No one will buy Chrysler or GM so we wont hurt them.
AND YOU WANT THESE INEPT GOONS RUNNING YOUR HEALTH CARE?
It didn’t make it through round 2 at the death panel.
I’m pretty sure everyone has heard by now that Obama is trying to drag Hillary into his healthcare mess.
RUN HILLARY, RUN AWAY FROM THIS!!!
And then run in 2012, lol
Is it me or have the first months of the 0bama administration been like the Democratic primary caucuses of 2008? What he|| this has been!
“Co-op” sounds a lot like “HMO”. We already got those. Mandated back in ‘93 by Clinton.
We all just love ‘em here. They work so great.
the bottom line is republican want the poor disabled and poor people to die.i havent been to the medicade doctors since 2003, when i injured my leg and the doctor told me [we are all geting old arnt we] and refused to give me a xray or any medical treatment.in my town they let us poor white men die.so iv been waiting for the [public option] since way befor 1993.so i guess the tax payers are going to keep paying me disibility since 1994 for preventable problems.
This lady is bring denied and bet your bottom dollar Obama has his lying hands and pockets in with them.
And oh here is something watch and listen

We’ve got to have universal health.
Doctor’s want it and say it will improve healthcare.
If you only watch Fox news you will remain ignorant.
Listen to Bill Moyers, Robert Reich, and yes our president. BTW he cannot help his messianic/rockstar appeal, given how low the last occupant of the White House set the bar, anyone with the ability to walk upright would seem like the second coming.
We’re America and should have the best healthcare system in the world. Not 38th. Yes, 38th.
