What Is Going On With The Economy, Obama??

I have some major things going on today, but I did want to touch on the Economy and what has been going on of late. As you may have heard, we have been adding $200 BILLION a MONTH to the Deficit. We are currently bumping up against the $12.1 TRILLION Debt Ceiling as established by Congress, and may do that as early as October. Needless to say, Timmy Geithner is scrambling to get that raised so we don’t default on our loans. Once again, we are raking up $200 BILLION in debt a MONTH.

Well, Obama has figured out a way to deal with the massive debt under which we are staggering. And no, not another “czar,” though that would not be a surprise at this point. Not this time, but this may be one of the best plans he has ever had. And it comes to you via The Onion:

U.S. Government Stages Fake Coup To Wipe Out National Debt

Can’t you just see it now? I wonder what roll Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, et al, will play in that “coup”?? I welcome your suggestions.

Rev, Amy. I find the video very disturbing and not in least funny. Isn’t satire great?

Reid will play a bit part and object to his own objection.
Boxer will waterboard the next mil brass that calls her :mam

Pelosi will have a law passed that Lenin’s Bday is a national holiday and declare Marx a god.

Kent Conrad will bitch and moan as he has for years about the debt ceiling but will be hung in effigy.

Wow–How do they get the $ to make something look so real? Distubing indeed! And frankly in my darker moments I wonder if something like this could ever really happen to us. There are many historial precedents, of course…

Truly what we are seeing is a coup. Other countries have made jokes about it, calling it a bloodless coup

As for the economy more of our money going elsewhere

The debt ceiling must be why Obama hasn’t issued a required budget report. It was due on July 15th and they supposedly kicked it down the road to August 15th. The projected debt of about 10 trillion was based on assumptions of growth in the economy, which of course hasn’t occurred. The actual debt we’re facing may be more in the range of 20 TRILLION!

It is a staggering figure - and a debt that future generations will be laboring under.

Got to love the Onion! Sometimes it’s the only paper I can make myself read lately.

The people in Congress and the WH seem just middle school enough to try something like this.

You know what the worst part is?

When I took a look at the “US government stages a fake coup to wipe out national debt” -video’s still picture, I thought it was real. Obama administration putting up a play about terrorists stealing the debt would follow their childish politics of imagery over substance perfectly.

Give the doughnut hole people a 50 off sale… even though buying overseas would save more than 50 off. Give away the governments buying power position while bleeding the rest of us bone dry. Meanwhile, go around selling how much you are helping us. Apologize some more to everybody around the world that we aren’t as broke as they are yet.

Elevating Rights Is a Focus of Secretary

RRRAmy, how come I am changing the subject, towards the person that gives me hope [Hillary] instead of the one that sells hope and speaking out of both sides — I mean just look how he contradicts himself on all the issues, take one for example, DOMA. Obama has meetings with both Clintons (Bill at 4 pm) today and Obama and Clinton will eulogize WALTER CRONKITE during a memorial service at Lincoln Center on Sept. 9. Does all this mean Obama recognizes he needs an ally of Bill’s caliber?

I think the last person we should reasonably ask is Obama. I’m convinced he knows nothing about economics or finance or business. Or much else for that matter. He’s outsourcing everything and giving vacuous, happy talk messaging.

What’s up with the economy? It’s cratering. And the reason the vid [which I caught last week, Amy] is gruesomely funny, even uncomfortable to watch is because it cuts close to home. The Onion does biting satire. And this is a good example.

Here is an interactive map with audio and pictures of SoS Clinton’s trip to Africa, with Jeffrey Gettleman (Murphy wrote a comment about him in Ani’s piece about Warner’s article versus the junk). It’s interesting and I think he was fair versus the previous article where he whined about the travel and Hillary’s diplomatic approach. http://www.nytimes.com//interactive/2009/08/07/world/africa/20090807-africaclinton-interactive.html?nl=multimedia&emc=focusema1

I love the interactive maps for her travels! It is really amazing to see all the places she has gone, and the work she has done.

It was just such a map during the Primaries that put the lie to Obama’s attempts to discredit Hillary’s foreign policy creds as “tea parties.” Thanks, CG!
