BO is the new JFK!! – Redux – and again.

First Post (UK) has an interesting picture of BO in the oval office.

Apparently, Sasha was trying to “sneak up” on her dad as he was working. Are you kidding me?

I can imagine the thinking that went into this picture.

1) It’s just so darn cute!!

2) Just like JFK and his son!!!!

3) We can release this when BO needs to look more warm and fuzzy.

I’m guessing Sasha is too big to fit under the desk (she’s older than John-John) or someone might have actually tried to stage the picture that way. Feh. BO’s staff has Kennedyized this guy from the start. Remember the earlier picture?

Whether staged or just a “lucky coincidence,” the BO campaign certainly liked that the picture evoked this:

Now, for people steeped in politics and political history, this is no accident. These pictures are, at worst, staged to evoke JFK and, at best, not staged, but gleefully used to evoke JFK. Why? Actually, I don’t know. BO has been positioned as the new and better ever since he announced. So, why the need to Kennedyize him?

Maybe with Ted Kennedy now passed away, BO can completely appropriate the “Kennedy myth”? Whatever the truth, I just think this type of “see, he’s just like JFK”-hamfisted-political-trowel-wielding-public-image-shaping stuff is beyond fail.
