NoQuarter Radio’s Sins of Omission with Paulie Abeles
By Linda Anselmi on September 7, 2009 at 10:01 PM in NoQuarter Radio, Paulie Abeles
(Due to a bit of holiday confusion this posting is late, the show has concluded, but you can still listen to the archived show here.)
Join Sins of Omission Monday, September 7th at 9pm (ET) as host Paulie Abeles talks to Josh Stearns of Free Press, a non-partisan media watchdog, about how the public is increasingly being manipulated by an all-powerful media.
Thomas Jefferson famously said: “the only security of all is in a free press”. But is our American press free?
More and more print, television and radio companies are owned by a small group of corporate behemoths who control not only what “news” is presented, but how.
Cable and phone companies are looking to expand their control (and profits) by creating ‘tolls’ on the internet—where only those who pay their fees will be able to share information. Is this a problem?

Paulie, you did a marvelous job with Mr. Bernstein. I was appalled by his total insensitivity to the sexism that played such a big role in this election. I was a fan of Mr. Bernstein during the Watergate investigation, but he is now becoming a caricature of himself. He is arrogant beyond belief and has stopped listening to women.
