I agree - it is shocking. And now that we have seen similar behavior in two different offices, combined with all of the other shady, even illegal, behaviors of ACORN employees, it is clear it is a systemic problem. BOTH offices didn’t skip a BEAT when it came to helping this couple, giving them all kinds of suggestions on how to get around the law and commit tax fraud. None of them struggled to give them the advice they did, none of them hesitated one bit. This seemed like the same-o, same-o…
And OA, you may be rig that no laws were broken, though I leave that to attorneys to figure out (you may be one, but I’m not, so I can’t really say). Perhaps conspiracy to defraud the government or something - I don’t know.
Certainly, laws of decency were broken, especially insofar as the underage prostitution went. NONE Of them spoke up against that. And there were children nearby while the were discussing all of this! Especially in the DC office when the ACORN woman made it quite clear that the “Madame” needed to make sure the girls, the CHILDREN, didn’t say a word to anyone. Holy SHIT already!!!
And we are funding this. They have received millions, and stand to make billions, from US. That needs to stop. Now.
They’ve been fired. But as reprehensible as their behavior and attitude is, what law did they break? The whole situation was a crafted fiction, and there are no victims to file a complaint. No harm was done. It’s no different than a friend of yours telling you to do all sorts of illegal stuff. If you never do any of it, your friend would be guilty of nothing but a sinful attitude.
Unfortunately, the little fish in Acorn will gladly be sacrificed because that’s what they’re there for. The two women in the video are too stupid to even replace the battery in the smoke detector that is plaintively beeping in the background. The scoundrels that have recruited them, and have gathered an army of similarly morally bankrupt individuals, should be the main targets of a congressional probe. Until that happens, all funds directed to Acorn and associated groups like SEIU should be stopped.
John Edwards was right in a way, there are two Americas. One America is where honest individuals go quietly about their business, provide for their families, produce more than they consume, and pray that they aren’t crossing any increasingly nebulous legal lines. This group has members of all political parties, religions, races, etc. The other America is like a permeating web of corruption, graft, parasitism, and power collection. This America feeds off of the other America by covertly sucking up it’s carelessly watched life energy. The sucking America is made up of groups that cover all aspects of our civilization; groups like Acorn, SEIU, drug networks, gangs, ALF, ELF, and of course, corrupt politicians and businessmen. This broad reaching parasitic network spans from the lowest individuals like the two Acorn women at the tips of the network, to the very top people that are now in possession of our highest government positions.
The line between these two Americas does not devide between political parties, class, religion, race, or gender. The line devides decency from corruption, lawful from criminal, and right from wrong. The parasite America intimately knows and recognizes it’s host, because the host operates openly with the innocence of honesty and integrity. But the honest America often has trouble identifying the other America, because the other America is expert at hiding it’s true nature with many disguises. Until the honest host America can spot and crush the parasite America, the host America will continue to be bogged down by the constant drain of it’s life forces.

I agree with you that the “little fish” of ACORN will be willingly sacrificed. In fact, I’m pretty certain Beck pointed that out on his show yesterday when he pointed at the picture of the founder of ACORN.
These women were simply following the lead of those who are in power at ACORN. Getting rid of these women won’t change ACORN a bit.
However, I bet there is a memo circulating to every ACORN office and member stating that they are never to offer “advice” to anyone outside the membership again! It will definitely be harder to catch them in the act of being themselves a second time.

I watched the entire video of this. I came away thinking what an ugly underbelly of American Society the election of BO has revealed.

I worry that those kids who made this video are going to be needing some legal help. Sarah made note of the fact that Barack’s pillars were made of styrofoam and amassed about a half a million in legal expenses for stating this and only things which were obvious. I don’t know how far along these kids went in filling out loan forms. They might want to start a legal defense fund. I applaud the spirit, but I doubt they have any idea what they have wandered into.
I tell you what, I would invite them to my home, to protect. I would stick my neck out for them!

There is something I noticed both on the extended video and at the ACORN site: no one asks for social security numbers for the children. We have always had to provide our children’s social security numbers when we filed them as dependents; anyone else?
SO why is that left out at the web site, and an obvious omission from the video? I am wondering how deep this goes, because in order for that woman to assume it would be so simple to add the illegal underage girls as dependents, she didn’t seem to have a concern over social security numbers which makes me think there must be an answer for that in the ACORN play book as well.
These women were very adept at what they were doing. This sure as hell was not the first time they have “bent” the law!
They were licking their chops over the kick-backs that they could turn into campaign donations!
