MoDo Channels Racist Voices

MooDoo makes an embarrassing personal admission in today’s NYT. She’s hearing voices. She hears things that don’t exist. And, apparently, her eyesight isn’t too good either.

Her piece in today’s NYT calls Joe Wilson’s outburst during Obama’s speech an example of terrible, regional racism, where MooDoo particularly slams South Carolina, gratis. To oppose Obama and, worse, to do so openly, is to show racist colors. And Joe Wilson probably thought he was just rudely responding to Obama’s assertion that others are lying when they suggest illegal immigrants will get government sponsored health care in Obama’s plan. Clearly Wilson was confused about what the real issue is and always will be – race.

Surrounded by middle-aged white guys — a sepia snapshot of the days when such pols ran Washington like their own men’s club — Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!” at a president who didn’t.

But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!

The “Joe Wilson kerfluffle” continues to provoke debate. Was it the worst protocol breach in US history? How could anyone ever accuse Obama not-your-father’s-politician of lying? And while I’ve seen arguments that such a “breach of protocol” shows Obama is not as respected as a white president would be, I’ve not seen anyone yet claim the need to finish Wilson’s sentence for him.

Until MooDoo. She “heard” the word “boy.” The “unspoken word in the air” that absolutely proves it’s all about race and nothing else. That little voice in the air convinces her it has been about race all along. “Boy” was not said until MooDoo said it. Must have been in her brain, for sure. With all the articles I’ve seen on this, it has certainly never occurred to me to finish Joe Wilson’s “you lie” by adding “boy.” (That’s MooDoo’s latent racist thinking.)

I’ve been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer — the frantic efforts to paint our first black president as the Other, a foreigner, socialist, fascist, Marxist, racist, Commie, Nazi; a cad who would snuff old people; a snake who would indoctrinate kids — had much to do with race.
———
But Wilson’s shocking disrespect for the office of the president — no Democrat ever shouted “liar” at W. when he was hawking a fake case for war in Iraq — convinced me: Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.

“A lot of these outbursts have to do with delegitimizing him as a president,” said Congressman Jim Clyburn, a senior member of the South Carolina delegation. Clyburn, the man who called out Bill Clinton on his racially tinged attacks on Obama in the primary, pushed Pelosi to pursue a formal resolution chastising Wilson.

But MooDoo isn’t satisfied with showing how her nasty little mind works, she’s got to indulge in some classic logic errors. In print.

For two centuries, the South has feared a takeover by blacks or the feds. In Obama, they have both.

And South Carolina is particularly racist.

“A good many people in South Carolina really reject the notion that we’re part of the union,” said Don Fowler, the former Democratic Party chief who teaches politics at the University of South Carolina. He observed that when slavery was destroyed by outside forces and segregation was undone by civil rights leaders and Congress, it bred xenophobia.

MooDoo goes on to say that Obama’s clear elegance and erudition cause people to be more fearful than they should. Southerners, after all, aren’t just afraid of gun-toting gangstas, the AME church down the road and black-owned businesses; they’re absolutely terrified of walking black thesauri. Give me a break. Blaming South Carolina or the Southern US for the outburst of one politician MooDoo doesn’t agree with is a great example of faulty logic. She believes that what may or may not be true of one or some is definitely true of all – hence all the South fears feds and blacks. (But that doesn’t quite work, the South has many military bases, arguably the most diverse institution in the US. Oh, nevermind.)

Of course, if MooDoo needs a refresher in logic, she could check Wikipedia where she might find “spotlight fallacy.

Spotlight fallacy: when a person uncritically assumes that all members or cases of a certain class or type are like those that receive the most attention or coverage in the media.

Naturally, only the South is full of racists, both historically and in the present. It’s completely within reason to blame the current political problems of a “gifted politician” on a geographical region of the country.

Of course, if you’d like a little nuance in your history, you could try Thomas J. Sugrue’s book:

Sweet Land of Liberty: The Forgotten Struggle for Civil Rights in the North.

civilrightsbook

But hey, blaming people just over the state line works too in Obama’s post-racial America.

I think the administration will be happy to use Wilson’s ill-advised outburst for some time, stoking lots of bad feelings. Obama came from Chicago, where “politics ain’t beanbag.” That means retaliation and more fireworks over this, although they’ll be disguised as other moves. SC’s Clyburn is on board with that.

Clyburn had a warning for Obama advisers who want to forgive Wilson, ignore the ignorant outbursts and move on: “They’re going to have to develop ways in this White House to deal with things and not let them fester out there. Otherwise, they’ll see numbers moving in the wrong direction.”

So, all you Southern racists hiding in your gun-filled “stars and bars” draped basements wearing gimme caps and holding hand-cranked radios tuned to Rush? Better watch your mouth. Just get out your “Bush Lied, People Died” t-shirt and leave Obama ALONE! Oh, and if you’re in Illinois, Indiana or any other state not in THE SOUTH, no worries! You’re not a racist!!

It takes a NYT columnist to use the word “boy” when applied to Obama. When this story becomes ever more about “Southern racism,” don’t forget who put that word into Joe Wilson’s – and by association, all southerners’ – mouth.

Feh.

Uh, anyone know a good neurologist for MooDoo? No doubt she’s got great insurance from the NYT. . .

Just what we need–MooDoo making stuff up out of thin air (or her own sub-conscience) to get the I-told-you-so-racists stirred up. After 0bama spent the majority of his speech lying and calling Republicans and the media liars, Joe Wlson lost it and yelled “You lie” while Obama was lying. Wilson knows 0bama was lying because he wrote the amendment that would prevent illegal aliens from getting health benefits and the Democrats Voted it down. I didn’t hear 0bama finish his sentence, but I’m pretty sure he was calling all of us town hall questioners anti-American, domestic terrorist, Fox News propagandizing, astroturfing, racists. Oh wait…

Comment by b mathews | 2009-09-13 14:32:49

last nite on GERALDO AT LARGE,he also tried to turn it into a racial thing by asking his guest if he didnt think joe wilsons outburst was racial. im surprised hes on fox since we already have all of the msm trying to turn everything into a racial issue. i wont be watching his show again.

b_mathews: Everytime Geraldo opens his mouth, he proves that he’s a Hispano-fascist with a new list of demands for white America, as if Hispanics or anyone else has a “right” to immigrate to America. But what he’s really doing here is a distraction: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT THE BILL SINCE THE LEFTISTS WILL RE-INTRODUCE MCCAIN-KENNEDY NEXT SPRING (2010) AND ALL THE ILLEGALS WILL SIMPLY BE MADE LEGAL AND THUS ELIGIBLE FOR HEALTH CARE.

“Hispano fascist”?

Comment by Martha Washington Collier | 2009-09-14 20:03:09

If you think the last march was impressive, just wait until they go for amnesty. That will be war because everyone is aware that amnesty and health care for the extra 17million they suddenly found as “uninsured” are solidly linked.

Comment by elizabethrc | 2009-09-13 16:33:47

Geraldo has never run away from blaming whites, supporting illegal hispanic immigrants and screaming racist at ever turn. Actually, in his mind, hispanics can do no wrong. He’s a pathetic excuse for a ‘journalist’. He’s nothing but a National Inquirer calibre personality and he deserves to be laughed at.
He’s the true racist here!

Comment by Lana | 2009-09-13 18:12:11

I won’t watch Geraldo anymore. And I will not watch anyone who adds to this racist crap. Guess I’ll have lots more time to read.
I also saw during the primaries how very scary it was that 0bama had lived between the “two worlds” of black and white. He knew exactly how white guilt worked and he knew how to use it. And he knew how to roil up racism charges to get the black vote. He’s glib, he lies, he has no ethics, and I pray for the day when this nation will wake up.

Obama wasn’t lying – undocumented aliens won’t get any benefits from any of the bills. Neither will any of the rest of us. The only folks who are going to derive any benefit from these bills would be the insurance companies. They’ll be well taken care of.

I love one of the signs in that small group that went to Washington (state, I think) yesterday.

It said: “It doesn’t matter what I write on this sign because you will call it ‘racist’”

Ha, Ha – keep it up you stupid pieces of sh*t. We will leave you all where you are at and move the center of Government somewhere else. You can starve to death in the dark and cold without our energy and farming (we wouldn’t want you to lower your standards by using our natural resources that may harm the environment).

I saw evidence during the campaign that the Obama folk would continue to scream “racism” at every turn if he made it to the oval office and my worst fears have come true. With all of our problems, its obvious that we really don’t need this added distraction.

It’s just all too tedious, isn’t it???

Interesting how Dowd found a way to imply that Clyburn was right in his “calling out” of Bill Clinton. I’d have stated, “Clyburn, the man who handed Obama South Carolina with his incendiary, intentional misrepresentation of Bill Clinton’s primary comments, pushed Pelosi…”

Clyburn, the man who called out Bill Clinton on his racially tinged attacks on Obama in the primary, pushed Pelosi to pursue a formal resolution chastising Wilson.

Comment by Ani | 2009-09-13 14:55:25

MoDo can never for a moment let go her hatred and obsession with all things Clinton. When she gets up to brush her teeth the morning, she ponders how she can find a way to work a slur against one or both Clintons in her column — no matter how unrelated the topic.

I have no doubt that she wrote this phony diatribe against Wilson for the express purpose of delivering another slap to Bill and Hillary. I wonder what party they forgot to invite her to way back when. The woman is as relentless as she is irrelevant.

Comment by Jackarooty | 2009-09-13 19:00:06

Boy you’ve got that one right! If the lights go out it must be the Clintons’ fault.

Maureen Dowd is Ann Coulter turned inside out and vice versa. Both of them should just run off together and STFU too.

That card is getting real old, real fast. All that is coming from it is Obama is looking weak. Like he needs to be taken up for. Like he really isn’t capable himself of being President without his unofficial watchers in the media. They need to stop, because they are only hurting That One with that card.

Comment by Sandy | 2009-09-13 14:47:15

He is not capable, and he never will be. We all knew that a long time ago.And for that, Hillary was passed over. I will never forget how those Obots screwed our country!

Comment by JayD | 2009-09-13 14:39:41

This is not surprising since any opposition at all to Obama is flagged as racist by his supporters. You either say “yes” to Obama at every turn or you are a racist. His supporters have made this quite clear from the beginning. It is not a complicated scenario for them to embrace.

I saw Bill Maher doing it again himself (like he always does) claiming that people just can’t get over the fact that we have a black president. CNN was suggesting that the TEA Party march on Washington had racial overtones. There is no end to flashing the race card. Unfortunately we have to live with this lunacy as long as Obama is in office and probably well beyond. You’ve got to be a very desperate party to so constantly flash the race card when faced with opposition. They have so little else to flash.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2009-09-13 15:01:41

It’s such utter and total BS. There was an amazing black woman speaking at the protest going OFF about the whole race card thing.

I am fed up with being fed up. Weren’t we all supposed to be feeling so wonderful with the election of this guy who was going to bring change to Washington. Maybe he has brought change, just not the kind they were expecting. People who have never been involved with politics before are waking up. People who were disgusted by Bush, and now equally disgusted by Obama are uniting. This is not a righty vs lefty issue. This is about the little guy vs big govenment which is owned by big corporations. Former Dem of 36 years, I now consider myself an Independent. Go ahead Nancy. Go ahead and impose some sanction against Joe Wilson. Turn this into something racial when it isn’t and a hundred more patriots will wake up and get involved. Joe Wilson spoke for many of us when he called out lie. I’ve wanted to call out Obama for all of his lies since the primary. When Joe Wilson called Obama on a lie, he spoke for me! We’re getting tired of being called something we are not. That march on Washington, was just the beginning. Like one of the signs at the march stated yesterday-I’m not wee-wee’d up, I’m pissed!!!!

I think that the people that say that someone is racist is the person that is saying it because why do they think that it is racist just because we don’t agree with what Obama is doing we would say the same thing if Clinton or Bush were putting us in debt like he is. I think they just want to be noticed and this is their way of saying that we are all racist except them.

Comment by annienyc | 2009-09-13 15:09:58

I agree with you annie in a way. Although I think those who call everyone opposed to Obama are racist are the racist ones simply because they can only think of Obama as a black man, and not as a policy maker. To them they can’t see his policy, his errors, his agenda, whether positive or negative, because all they can see is his color, like Dowd.

Well they need to get a clue…we are over it..we do not care about being called racists by the real racists..let them wear themselves out with this. So who really cares what MooDoo thinks? I too agree with previous commenters that she is a “closet racist and bigot.” I believe it was the great observer of human nature, William Shakespeare, who observed in one of his plays, that a character trying to hide his guilt protested too much. In this instance, “she doth protest too much” seems to be applicable.

I had an aunt who was born and raised in New York City but lived most of her adult life in the Mid West, who was probably one of the most outspoken, bigoted people I have ever known. She put to shame most of the “gun totin’, small-town, xenophobes” that I also knew in my youth. Granted she may not have been “racist”. However I don’t think she had one African American even as an acquaintance. Her opinion of most of the people in the heartland (no matter what the their ethnic or racial background) was that we had no “culture” and “were a bunch of hicks” and she never tired of letting us know this.

Strange comparison. Is DoDo applauding the Dem’s timidity? Is she seriously claiming the Dems bowed to Bush out of respect for his office? I’d rather have Congress act like Joe Wilson than like the Dems in 2002.

The one thing Larry Kramer taught us: Silence=Death and Anger=Power. Clyburn admits Wilson’s outburst was politically effective. That’s why DoDo pulls this ‘holding action’ — trying to stop the political damage from spreading to her ‘elite’ readership. All she’s saying is ‘Joe Wilson is white trash. We Times readers are superior.’

In this whole Obama dustup, ‘Racist’ is just code for ‘White Trash.’

It is ok for them to call whites whitey or honky or cracker. Those are racist words, aimed at whites. Not sure what they call Latino, but up until Obama started pandering to them, to get their votes, blacks pretty much didn’t like Mexicans and the other Hispanic groups. He is trying to get all people of color to hate whites. It remainds me of school, argue with someone and they try and get everyone against you. Same thing Obama is doing. Childish and divisive. Or will be if allowed to stand.

Sorry to be OT but…

PLEASE HELP!

By stealing my work, CFP and WND have jeopardized the success of the project.

A state Rep. in NH saw their counterfeit ‘work’ and contacted the SoS in NH to look into fraud. (CFP focuses the ‘fraud’ on the differences in D Certifications, leaving out that part of my work that points out, the Certifications varied according to state law.) Now, as I have been saying since last summer, no provision of any law, federal or state, requires any state official to check whether the nominee for POTUS from the major political party is Constitutionally eligible for the job. This is the reason that any lawsuit predicated on Mandamus was doomed to fail. That is, the court – judicial branch – will not order the SoS – executive branch – to perform a specific job function unless such function is spelled out in the law – legislative branch. Most state laws also fail to require the nominee to be Constitutionally eligible for the job. In fact, most laws entitle the name of the nominee to appear on the ballot. All the party is required to do is to Certify the name of its nominee, to appropriate state officials, usually the SoS. So, as long as the party Certified BO was the D nominee, no fraud occurred with the SoS. Let’s say, the SoS of NH reports, no fraud occurred. A’sG in other states will hear this and figure, no fraud occurred. So, what are these people filing these 4-page complaints of election fraud talking about?

Does this mean, the D’s did not commit election fraud, by Certifying BO was a NBC without first ascertaining whether this is true, in those states that require the candidate to be eligible for the job to be printed on the state ballot? Absolutely not. But, tragically, because of the malfeasance of people associated with CFP and WND, only readers of my blog will ‘get’ that distinction.

Please bombard CFP and any other sites posting what you recognize is my work, with clarifications and links to my site.

Thank you so much.

WND? World Net Daily?

CFP???

Comment by jbjd | 2009-09-13 16:50:10

Sorry; I had previously posted an explanation as to who is CFP…

Canada Free Press, a taboid front for neo-Nazi Douglas Hagmann, and their ‘writer’ JB Williams, stole my blog but adding insult to injury, only ran some of the information, enough to obfuscate the whole point. Then, World Net Daily copied them; and Leo Donofrio jumped on the bandwagon, even after I informed him of this theft. Well, now, someone (?) brought the ‘CFP’ info to a NH state Rep. – turns out, he is a Plaintiff in one of Orly’s cases – who brought this to the NH SoS, who said she would investigate the ‘fraud.’ Only, she would be investigating the wrong fraud.

The state Rep. reported the D party perpetrated fraud by submitting faulty Certifications, basing his stupid claims on the fact that, as CFP reported, some D Certifications are different from others. CFP chalks up this difference to fraud, but not to differences in state laws. This is a fact omitted from their post that is explained on my blog. The SoS, agreeing to investigate, will conclude, nothing in NH law requires any statement on the Certification other than what was submitted. Her conclusion? No fraud. And she would be absolutely right.

We are filing election fraud complaints with A’sG that say, the D party submitted the Certifications that were required for the SoS to place BO’s name on the ballot. And the SoS did exactly what she was supposed to do, by placing his name on the ballot. In fact, by law, the party nominee is entitled to be on the ballot. However, the law in this state also requires the candidate to be eligible for the job. Now, we have no idea whether BO is eligible for the job; but we have a pretty good idea that based on the documentation in the public domain, as well as admissions by both the candidate and the party, the person signing the Certification on behalf of the party could not have ascertained whether BO is a NBC before signing the Certification submitted to the state.

That is the election fraud; and the job of the AG is to investigate that fraud. (Please, go to the blog and read the complaint people have begun filing in TX. This should make at least the intention of our work clear.)

State A’sG will be looking for any excuse not to pursue the cases we are bringing. Do you think the public will get the distinction between a SoS saying, ‘no fraud’ occurred, meaning, the Certifications were delivered in the appropriate manner; and our insistence that election fraud occurred because the party swore BO was eligible for the job printed on the ballot before ascertaining whether he was a NBC?

It’s dismaying to know NH got dragged into this, but I’ll go to your site to learn more. You explained the distinction well. I guess I’m not surprised that lazy journalists have lifted your thoughts as their own. And, if I understand it, distorted them…

MooDoo goes on to say that Obama’s clear elegance and erudition cause people to be more fearful than they should.

Is this woman bat-shit crazy? Elegance? Erudition? She’s clearly one editor short of a cogent byline. Of all the banal bilgewater she has written over the years, that one really takes the cake. According to her, we’re all a group of hicks and stump-jumping, mouth-breathing rustics out here in the south and That One is so clearly better than all of us because he is a grand orator, an intellectual giant, and a the savior of the country.

I call b u l l s h i t.

That One is a political hack, a babbling fool who reads pedestrian crap off a TelePrompTer placed there by his fratboy Favreau; he is a divider who clearly only wants attention for himself; and he is only “fearful” because those who blindly follow him are truly only a few steps up the evolutionary rung from slime mold.

MooDoo is the god damn racist. She has summarily dismissed all criticisms of That One by anyone from the South as racist. She’s the jerkwater who needs to be dismissed for cause. Can someone tell that woman to zip it, already?

The NYT used to be a bastion for unbiased reporting (no matter what the Dittoheads thought), over the past few years however, it has become the American Pravda functioning mostly as a convenient outlet for whomever is holding power at the moment. Sad to see, Dowd, Rich and the other house pontificators couldn’t get away with this without the tacit support of weasels like Pinch Sulzberger.

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2009-09-13 16:24:59

I agree–the Times used to be a very good newspaper. It is also true that the Democratic party was, once upon a time, a sound and viable alternative to the GOP. Those days have passed us by. What we are left with are bobbing heads babbling, “Yes we can”. My response is, “No you wont”.

Comment by Portia Elizabeth | 2009-09-13 16:54:53

The irony for me with the NYT is that I’m currently reading, studying books on the Chappaquiddick “incident”. (Because I’m like a dog with a rag once my curiosity is aroused.) I could hardly believe my eyes when I read some of the scathing comments The Times used to damn Ted Kennedy. They were all over him to come clean, explain the missing hours and admit his guilt, leading the outcry for his resignation from the Senate. The Times actually had reporters who, shockingly, researched the story and, more unbelievably, didn’t bow to the Kennedy machine.

How the mighty have fallen!

Wilson was an ass, but did nothing to justify the R word being hurled at him. The left is in danger of alienating independents who voted for Obama if they continue screaming racist every other day, the way CNN has been doing. And knowing CNN, it’s probably exactly why they drumming the race issue nonstop ad nauseum.

Comment by Katmoon | 2009-09-13 17:41:05

If they continue to yell racist; hell, for me it was enough a long time ago; especially when the one openly flashed his racism yet again at a police officer.

Comment by Beez_Waxing | 2009-09-13 15:56:54

The issue as to whether or not one or more of the Congressional bills contains a provision which will exclude illegal aliens from health care coverage is ambiguous, at best. More importantly, the debate obscures the fact that the OBAMA AND HIS CONGRESSIONAL STOOGES WILL SIMPLY MAKE ALL THE ILLEGALS, LEGAL, THEREBY MAKING THEM ALL ELIGIBLE FOR HEALTH CARE. They are already planning to introduce that legislation early next year. Who cares who is “lying” or not, since the McCain-Kennedy Immigration Bill of 1210 will accomplish what this administration wants to do: to bring America as we know it to its knees.

We have been living in level one of Allport’s scale of prejudice for over a year.

The scale

Allport’s Scale of Prejudice goes from 1 – 5.

Scale 1, Antilocution

Antilocution means a majority group freely make jokes about a minority group. Speech is in terms of negative stereotypes and negative images. This is also called hate speech [2]. It is commonly seen as harmless by the majority. Antilocution itself may not be harmful, but it sets the stage for more severe outlets for prejudice.

Racism is the last refuge of a liar.

Comment by yttik | 2009-09-13 16:19:43

It must be really difficult to be a black conservative or even a black liberal who questions Obama’s policies. It also must get really annoying having so called liberals like MoDo always trying to place you in a victim class. To me that would feel demeaning. You can’t just be, every time you turn around someone is pointing out how screwed you are because of racism.

I once had a job with some people who were supposedly all socially aware. The first thing they did was point out how I was female, a member of the oppressed class, people don’t like me very much, they won’t pay me as much as men, I’m going to be subjected to sexism, etc, etc. Yeah, well I know all that, but geesh, what are you trying to do, make me jump off a bridge or something? What is the purpose of constantly reminding me that my status in society with some people is that of a second class citizen? Constantly making sure that I know I’m different?

Ironically the purpose it served was make sure I stayed in my place, constantly grateful these people had chosen to be so charitable as to hire a lowly woman.

Sometimes those who preach the loudest about equality are those who are the least interested in seeing it come about.

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2009-09-13 16:31:04

Spot on, yttik. You obviously think very clearly and have an ability to see through the elitist attitude masquerading as hollow empathy. You are blessed with an ability many lack.

Comment by Katmoon | 2009-09-13 17:46:12

Yep yittik;

Sometimes a new “project” is needed for the type of person who does this to another, you were their social contribution project and it appears o is their historical project.

Sometimes those who preach the loudest about equality are those who are the least interested in seeing it come about.

Makes one wonder why anyone is concerned regarding the number of people at a march-freedom of expression which is suppose to be a coveted behavior of the project oriented people; when there should be a very loud outcry over the ACORN filth.

I am sick of the crap!

Comment by Mary Ellen (Nunly) | 2009-09-13 16:57:26

I’m so sick of hearing the Dems crying foul regarding this issue with Wilson, and claiming that they have never heard anyone do that before. In fact, it was Dennis Kucinich who called Bush a liar on the floor of Congress and he was made to apologize for it. I think he may have also been censured for it.

And what about the fact that Obama, himself, right before Wilson yelled out “liar!” called “some Republicans”, including Sarah Palin, liars. He didn’t just say they misinterpreted or misstated facts…he called them liars. So…it’s not below “his office” to behave that way in a speech, but it’s not ok for anyone else to do so?

These guys are the biggest hypocrites on the face of the earth and Maureen Dowd is the biggest twit to ever call herself a legitimate journalist. There’s one person who I would like to see collecting unemployment.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2009-09-13 17:03:04

Oh, brother.

First of all, the Democrats BOOED Bush during his SOTU address in 2005. Not just one of them, but a number of them. But that, of course, was okay, because they were Dems, and Bush was Bush (and you know I opposed Bush’s policies in a big way). I do not remember seeing ANYTHING like this made out of that, no talk of censure (even though th Reps controlled Congress), nothing.

Bill Clinton was heckled by Republicans in 1993. (http://mediamatters.org/research/200502040014) ONE lone Rep. had the gall to “dis” Obama, and he’s a racist? Because he’s from SC? Please.

So, NO ONE can say a bad word against Obama? Hmmm. What country does that sound like? I’ll give you a hint – it is NOT the U.S.A.

Wilson is from Charleston, the most cultured city in all of SC, if you ask me (I’m originally from NC, so I do have a bias). It has had a Dem mayor for over 20 yrs, and is a city in which African Americans and whites work alongside each other every day, not to mention live near each other.

For her to add that word onto Wilson’s statement, and try to paint him as a racist, a man who lives in a state where almost a THIRD of its citizens are African American, is reprehensible.

Not to mention painting the entire South with the broad brush of racism. That is insulting to the extreme.

She is pathetic in her attempts to discredit him, and the South, rather than look at the words that are coming out of Obama’s mouth – the “erudite” ones the Hillary cutout groping frat boy wrote for him.

Did Wilson break protocol? Yes. Is he the first to do so? Not by a long shot. But none of the others have been labeled RACISTS as a result. Only the guy from SC. Nice, Moodoo. Time to get back on those meds. (Dang – did I write that outloud?)

Comment by Portia Elizabeth | 2009-09-13 17:08:07

I thought Wilson was from Beaufort – pronounced Bewfort in SC and BOfort in NC. ;)

Comment by tzada | 2009-09-13 18:26:01

Notice those Bush as a monkey pictures? Any picture of the one without his halo is racist and more. “They” would go nutz if anyone did O as a monkey. Why? What is the difference?

Comment by tzada | 2009-09-13 17:26:20

Wasn’t it Obama Huessian Obama who called William Jefferson Clinton, a former PRESIDENT a “bald faced liar”? And when President Clinton said something about Obama and a “fairy tale” he, Clinton was called a racist for making a racist remark. Didn’t sound like that to me. I may have thought he was aluding to something else, but racist never.

Truly I think they are trying to state a racial fight war. Because if they manage to get one started it won’t be just a battle. Which is what is wanted. Please read the email that was sent to someone who supported Joe Wilson. This is how violent and viscious some of them are. Here is an example of one that was posted on Redstate. Note the dogs and pigs, Muslims use those words to describe us.

I pray DAILY that all of you racist, right wing conservative TRAITORS die poor, disenfranchised, and disgraced…and VERY SOON! Joe Wilson and all of you confederate TRAITORS who think like and support him should all find no safe haven in this country.
May Joe Wilson live in constant fear that he will be neutralized, at his favorite restaurant, in a shopping mall, or on a family vacation. I pray some patriot gives that racist demon what he deserves, very soon.
I see a day soon when all of you racist conservative TRAITORS will be attacked on a daily basis. I pray you are extincted politically and socially, America’s democracy depends on it. You are all a cancer on this country. May your days on this earth be days of profuse and intense suffering, and may your reservations in hell be filled very SOON! You TREASONOUS sons of bi*ches are domestic terrorists, and I pray we use the Patriot Act to rid our nation of you hypocritical, inbred, racist, ignorant scummy pigs and dogs.
I KNOW my prayers will be answered before long.

Functioning Brain Fallacy – the notion that Mo Dowd, Bill Maher, or Geraldo Rivera each have more than 3 functioning brain cells.

Comment by TexasMirth | 2009-09-13 18:53:58

Insulting those you wish to convert – now there’s an interesting approach. Dowd has no idea how much she is helping the cause that she thinks she is hurting. She has rendered her columns meaningless by regurgitating the same old race card every time someone questions Obama’s policies.
She is now a caricature of what she once set out to be. Keep it up, MoDo, until you have called every citizen a racist that doesn’t reflect your own Obama-fawning image.

Comment by Babs | 2009-09-13 19:44:35

Obviously liberal mommies and daddies never read “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” to their children. That’s what I find so sad about the desperate ploy of the left to label all opposition to Obama as “racist”. When true racism does rear its ugly head, no one will be listening.

What is truly sad is that she thinks her writing is a fresh perspective when it’s always a sweltering turd pile. She took a statement made out of frustration and twisted it into something it wasn’t.
(She did the same to Hillary during the primaries.)
She is making her assessment off of the fact that the Congressman is is from South Carolina. She clearly has never been. Because she would know that the demographics don’t support her theory. She also would have seen and possibly learned grace, manners, kindness. All of which she is sorely lacking.
