It seems like every time I turn on cable news, they are replaying an Obama speech. Oh, wait! It says “LIVE” in the corner.
They do sound a lot alike, and the style and cadence are in his classic campaign mode (minus a lot of those promises). Does this man understand that he has actually been elected as our President and that lots of things desperately need his attention besides appearing on TV?
Watch out tomorrow. There will be no escape! President Obama is on at least four network Sunday morning talk shows (George Stephanopoulos on ABC, Sunday Morning and Face the Nation on CBS, and Meet the Press on NBC).

Pat, your awe-inspiring ‘toon reminds us that whereas the sun only comes up once a day, Thee One can bedazzle humanity many times in 24 hours. Moreover, He can be everywhere at once! (except for Fox, of course).

In addition to the suggestions of being dazzled by the sun, your ‘toon carries the more obvious associations of what happens to a picture when it is “overexposed”: you can no longer see the object of the picure clearly: it is hidden in the razzle-dazzle of the overexposure. Once again I am reminded of Richard Gere singing “Razzle Dazzle ‘Em” in Chicago. By this analogy, “overexposure” is a tactic of blinding the audience to what is hidden behind the glare.
That leaves Fox. . . NO PROBLEM!

I heard the 5th channel is Univision. Because, of course, BO speaks uh, Spanish, uh, and wants to, uh, reach out, uh, to his Hispanic, uh supporters.
And now he’s scheduled to appear on David Letterman’s show. I didn’t need another reason not to watch that old letch, but now I’ve got one. Yuck.
I believe he’s afraid to face Chris Wallace. Wallace said this administration is the biggest bunch of cry babies he has ever seen. He will be interviewing (what’s her name) CEO of ACORN. It should be interesting since another shoe is suppose to drop next week.
Ok, if an ACORN rep can appear on Fox Channel, Obama certainly can. What a big wussy.

Well, Beck tried to expose Obama the right way today. A nice little magnetic board presentation by the guy from Breitbart. They took O at his word and judged him by the company he keeps. So we got to see the connections between all the Chicago “royalty.” He moved from Valerie Jarrett (princess) to her parents. Then to king Ayers (the father) on to the prince, young Ayers (Billy, of course). He brought in Davis, though I forget his exact function in the court, and Wright as the jester. Obama got to be the knight in shining armor.
This all came about first by the video of Valerie announcing Van Jones’ appointment. It was to explain how Jones’ background resonates with all the others in the court.
It was cute, quick, and easy to remember.
That’s the kind of exposure I like.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I do like your work. I wish I could have a little scrapbook of all of the toons you’ve created. I bet it would sell.
It’s to the point that my gag reflex constantly comes into play. Every time I turn on the T.V., I’m on alert in case his face with appear or the first sound I hear is his irritating voice. I got that way with Bush over time. This happened with Obama clear in the primary.
I stopped listening to him a long time ago–he says the same empty things over and over again anyway, sprinkled with deception, so what am I missing?
On the other hand, if the conservatives have only got Huckabee as an opponent, there could be four more years of incessant talking. Do they actually think Huckabee has a snowball’s chance in h*ll of winning? What a pathetic set of choices.

That’s a straw poll, and since Huckabee is on TV, he gets the most press.
18 months ago, my prediction (completely wrong as it turned out) was that someone with a name like Barack Obama had about as much chance of winning the election as someone named Huckabee. I thought it would be Romney vs Clinton.
So much for my predictions.
That said, I don’t think the Republicans have an overt candidate yet. It’s too early. The more time you give them to dig up dirt, the more dirt they can dig up. Obama won because he was unknown until it was too late. Hillary was an easy target because she’d been in the spotlight for years.
I won’t predict any names, but I suspect the next Republican challenger to Obama may be a white man about 60 years old, probably a recent governor, and squeaky clean. But not Romney, who is damaged goods now, having lost the primaries. Not Gingrich, who is old news and too much like Pete Rose. He’ll be a Southerner to some extent, but probably not Deep South or Southwest, more Midwestern. And it should be someone that appeals to Christians.
I don’t know, Huckabee may not be such a long shot. He’s funny and clever on the fly, he’s not too preachy (even though he’s a minister), and he’s got good delivery and presentation. They could do worse.
I don’t at all think the Republicans will try racial or gender “gimmicks.” I don’t think Sarah Palin is even under consideration by the big money. No, I think they will play the “tradition” card, the “get back to normal” card, and the “Southern Strategy” card. No surprises this time.
I hope you can tell that I’m no supporter of the GOP. My support goes to destabilize the Progressives in control of the Democratic Party who gambled away the future of our country on an unknown con artist. Either let the Moderate Democrats take charge again, or let there be a new major party for moderates and centrists.
Hey Steve, your track record as a prophet is about as bad as mine. I admire you for continuing to prophecy; I was compelled to pawn my crystal ball months ago. Politically, we seem to be from the same political slum neighborhood. I offer you these encouraging thoughts which I cherish in my heart: “Even the losers get lucky sometimes” (Thanks, Tom Petty). And, “Our Day Will Come” (Thanks, Ruby & the Romantics). Those thoughts should engender a tiny little spark of hopiness in my heart, but I can’t seem to find it. Everything is bedazzled into oblivion by the incessant glare of the Great One.

All of which is to suggest, “It ain’t what you say, it’s the way how you say it,” and if you say it often enough and ubiquitously enough it takes on a polish and luster that shines just like Truth . . .
Picking a song from the “Music Man” may have been more appropriate than is apparent at first glance. Robert Preston is a less than ethical salesman who concocts a complex, but exagerated (boys are playing pool), rationale to convince a financially strapped town to purchase marching band uniforms and instruments, arguably a good thing, but perhaps not too prudent during times of hardship. Preston walks a fine line between being a legitimate salesman and a flim-flam man.
The basic premise of the “Music Man” story runs remarkably parallel to the current debate over healthcare. The huckster Obama has been using deceptive and shifting rationale to force us into swallowing the giant horse pill of extensive government involvement in the private healthcare industry. The first reason he gave for this adventure is that rising costs in the industry were a principle cause for our economic problems. Next, he plucked our sympathy strings by parading 47 million pathetic souls down mainstreet who, for whatever reason, apparently can’t get medical attention (a lie). The current song and dance is the rediculous claim that without extensive government involvement, prices will explode, and no one but the most rich among us will get medical attention (another lie).
Nobody that I’ve heard of has claimed that there isn’t a need for changes in the medical world, although Obama has often made the strawman argument that the Republicans eschew reforms. Right now, there isn’t a single, defineable bill out there, yet Obama is pounding us down with the steady drum beat of “accept this bill, or or face the music”. As a salesman, Obama is failing because he apparently doesn’t know the first rule of effective salesmanship; KNOW YOUR PRODUCT! He still has absolutely no solid understanding of the potion that has yet to emerge from Nazi Pelosi’s witches cauldron. Today he is begging all of us to ignore the foul taste, and take our medicine. The problem is that we don’t want to be the test subjects for every experimental drug that is brewed up by the Democrats in congress. More often than not, such experimental cures are worse than the malady. I don’t want America to become a nation of dead, or dying guinea pigs. And I certainly don’t want a band of radical 60’s Fascists setting the pace for these reforms, patriotic Americans don’t march to that beat.

Another good toon, Pat. Obama in the spoltlight of his own making. Guess he never tires listening to himself. But I do. Maybe the strategy is to bore us into submission because the charm is no longer working. Slippery as a snake.
As for campaign mode? That’s all he has, a one trick pony. But then we knew that all along.

You should not watch any of the Obama interviews and just wait for the transcripts.
The lower the ratings the more news networks will be discouraged from this kind of over propaganda in the future.
You already know what he is going to day and you know the questions are all predetermined.
The only chance of a fair interview would have been Chris Wallace and the “cry babies” in the Obama administration have decided to censure the news.
So try not to watch the actual interviews and wait for the transcripts.

I’m covered for the day. I’m going to watch the turkey buzzards soar over the near-by lake, and name them after politicians!
This cartoon speaks for itself. The way the light shines through him makes him look transparent, so I wonder if that is what Obama meant by being transparent? Unfortunately Obama is spending so much time saying the same thing over and over hoping that if you say something often enough and say it as if you mean it that somehow that will make it true that he ends up being overexposed leaving his healthcare agenda underdeveloped.
So he is being a rock star going on all kinds of friendly shows that will not ask him hard questions about the healthcare changes he is proposing and does not dare to go on Fox, the big bad news channel. So what does that really say about the Obama and transparency? Without the hard questions, where is the transparency? But then again trying to get this passed with one day’s notice never did show transparency, so why be surprised now?
By the way does anyone know–while Obama is preparing for all of those friendly town hall meetings and TV shows, traveling to them, and appearing at them–who is running the country? It must be all of those un-vetted Czars he appointed.
As a side note, I know that the government is supposed to be accountable for its spending, especially with the huge deficit we are leaving our grandchildren, so I am wondering who is paying for all of the travel and security necessary to make his appearances happen? Is it the TV stations in some unknown way or is it us, our children, our grandchildren. and their yet unborn children?

LOL. I wonder if there will come a day when even the media will get sick of Obama. He’s not even in office a year. By the end of his first (and hopefully last) term, the majority of Americans will switch the channel when they see Obama without thinking twice. Even A-list movie stars don’t show their faces in public as much as Obama has an “important” speech planned. Unfortunately, none of his speeches have done nothing to help people find jobs.
