Obama Throws Afghanistan and America Under the Bus

(Bumped up from Tuesday evening. Check out the comments in the original posting on September 22, 2009.)

I will beat this dead horse until we get a ton of glue. Barack Obama waffling on Afghanistan has now crossed a line that puts our nation at risk. His word means nothing. Here is what he said to a veterans group a little over a month ago about the nature of the threat in Afghanistan:

A war of necessity? A war worth fighting? He said it damn it, but he sure as hell did not mean a word of it.

But this was not the first time he promised to make the fight in Afghanistan a top priority. He even had the audacity to argue back in 2008 that “we lacked the resources” to do the job in Afghanistan because we were diverting resources to Iraq.

Barack Obama, you are not just a liar, you are a ham-handed buffoon of a liar.

Your commander on the ground has made it very clear that he needs 45,000 more soldiers to do the job that you have claimed repeatedly is a war of necessity and that you also have insisted will be the staging base for the next terrorist attack against the United States if we ignore Afghanistan.

You announced in March of this year you have a “new” strategy. You specifically spoke about the lack of resources and the inadequate number of troops that Bush had devoted to the Afghan effort.:

At the same time, we will shift the emphasis of our mission to training and increasing the size of Afghan security forces, so that they can eventually take the lead in securing their country. That’s how we will prepare Afghans to take responsibility for their security, and how we will ultimately be able to bring our own troops home.

For three years, our commanders have been clear about the resources they need for training. And those resources have been denied because of the war in Iraq. Now, that will change. The additional troops that we deployed have already increased our training capacity. And later this spring we will deploy approximately 4,000 U.S. troops to train Afghan security forces. For the first time, this will truly resource our effort to train and support the Afghan army and police. Every American unit in Afghanistan will be partnered with an Afghan unit, and we will seek additional trainers from our NATO allies to ensure that every Afghan unit has a coalition partner. We will accelerate our efforts to build an Afghan army of 134,000 and a police force of 82,000 so that we can meet these goals by 2011 — and increases in Afghan forces may very well be needed as our plans to turn over security responsibility to the Afghans go forward.

So forgive the Joint Chiefs, General Petraeus and General McChrystal for believing you were a man of your word. But you are a liar and a charlatan. When the commander who you personally selected to lead the war in Afghanistan tells you he needs more troops you let the request sit in your damn inbox and you hop a flight to New York City to yuck it up with Dave Letterman. Here’s what you said on Letterman:

Compare this with what he promised in March of this year:

Barack Obama, you are worse than an average political hack. You are an immature amateur who is putting the nation’s security at risk by your vacillation and hedging. Grow up man!

He through the bus he came in on, ACORN, under the bus. Couldn’t disown Rev. Wright and he did. What surprises anyone when he throws thousands of American soldiers under the bus.

Let me tell you something, THAT’S A BIG BUS AND THERE’S A LOT MORE GOING UNDER IT IN THE NEXT 3 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS. But who’s counting?

Obama is a habitual liar. Instead of remembering his lies or confessing to them, he just makes up new ones to cover up the old ones. Those who voted him in office are complicit in the crimes he will have committed as he ‘changes his mind’ on policies that were originally designed to protect Americans. Because of the Obamacratic Party Apparatus that still supports his agenda, we are all at risk. Not only is this one of the most reckless administrations in American history, it is also one of the most powerfully entrenched in that it claims a majority of members in Congress who will claim in the future that ‘they were only taking orders.’ The problem is going to come when things really start falling apart because of the obvious ‘Hamlet syndrome’ that hampers his better judgment, and keeps him from making decisions in a timely manner. The present dilemma in his waffling on sending troops to Afghanistan is another case in point. Add that to the health care nightmare he has created and quite a few Americans are going to be stressed out from the Existential Prince’s delayed decisions, that are, as we all know, not decisions at all.

I want the traitorous bastards that selected him voted out of congress in the next election. Every congress person who backed him has to pay with their jobs
My father fought in what they call the CBI theater during the second world war. They had more trouble with the chinese warlords attacking American convoys than with the Japanese.

Google Chrome keeps trying to block access to PUMA08.com, claiming some sort of malware danger. Google trying to censor anti-Obama stuff again? Argh.

My firewall flipped out too and said there were various trojans on the site. There were three separate alarms before I shut down the page.

So, not sure it is a Google issue but maybe someone else infected the site.

Comment by helenk | 2009-09-24 13:04:35

I am sorry if there was something wrong with the page. I read the site at Daily Puma and when I pulled it up there was no problem. I use firefox. I would not have posted it knowing there was a problem. When I read it and saw the video I was so angry, I just wanted everyone to see it.

Truly, no probelm Helen.

I was glad that you had posted the video and was wanted to see it since hearing about the upcoming event. Besides it is an address that I recognize and trust also, so they were probably infected by someone else.

Apparently, there is a trojan going around that steals banking passwords and credit card information. So be careful if you do any online shopping or banking just in case it is the Clampi virus at the PUMA site.

Ahhhh.
And he is telling Israel to shut down their expansion(gee, when you need a home and have kids, I guess you don’t need a home) to submit to his Muslim buddies.

Black is white. Up is down. Morals are Immoral.

The Marxist Obama is in town, and you minions better get in line for food stamps.

Comment by mountainaires | 2009-09-24 10:52:24

Trying to tell Israel to “shut down their expansion to submit to his Muslim buddies?” Are you actually serious, Tammy? You obviously don’t know anything about the Israeli policy in the West Bank, or indeed anywhere. You might want to do some reading on this issue; that is, if you want to be informed. Israel’s theft of land inside the West Bank, and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their own land is clear. They continue to do it with support from the US. Now, perhaps that doesn’t bother you, because you hate Muslims, but there are a great many Christian Palestinians, too. Do you support THEIR suffering under Israeli policies? Or do you just support all slaughter as long as it’s perpetrated by Israel?

If Israel were rounding Palestinians up, forcing them into a ghetto, stealing their land to build a wall around them locking them into a prison, refusing them medical care, refusing them passage to work, refusing to allow them to marry Jews, buy houses, visit their family in Israel, refusing to allow them passage on Jewish-only roads, forcing them to use license plates that identify them as Arabs, diverting their water so they have none to grow food, and using Israeli snipers to shoot at them in their own homes, and on their own farm lands as they harvest their crops, would you be applauding it?

That is after all what is happening, day in and day out…..and you call it an “expansion.” It reminds me of the euphemisms used by the Nazis when they did the same things to the Jews in early ’30s in Germany.

Comment by Katmoon | 2009-09-24 05:52:32

Just a heads up, I posted at the end of this article thread on the first posting. Yesterday it was printed in the Federal register that the one approved defense articles and services for the central African states. I see by today’s printing of the federal register,(although the dates show this was in play a week ago) a Presidential Administrative order to:

Economic Community of Central African States; Eligibility to Receive Defense Articles and Services (Presidential Determination)
No. 2009–26 of September 7, 2009 ,
48363 [E9–23086] [TEXT] [PDF]
Maldives; Eligibility to Receive Defense Articles and Services (Presidential Determination)
No. 2009–25 of September 7, 2009 ,
48361 [E9–23084]

Where do we have a surplus of any military equipment, and why was this a priority over dealing with what American soldiers need?

Throwing America under the bus?

Its getting very hard to determine which side of the political spectrum has more screws loose than the other….

bambam saw just how hard it is to try to IMPEACH a President with W and Bill C before so he figures he can just do what ever the hail he wants and be assured he’ll never go to jail for it (at worst) or impeached at best! He doesn’t care cuz he can skidaddle back to HIS private world after and rake in all the money!

what have we turned this country in to? What a JOKE are we? If I am this P.O.’d I pity the fool that doesn’t take those who are armed seriously! (on every continent)

(I haven’t lost a home or job or family member yet due to this mess but for the thousands that have….. I bet they are STEAMING)

Comment by Anna | 2009-09-24 10:23:20

Obama was interviewed on CBS this week and Obama stated he wants a strategy before deploying troops.
Rather, than doing what Bush, Jr. did and deploy first without plan or strategy in Iraq.

So, hopefully, the waffling stops and planning starts immediately. Or is this just a delaying tactic?

Obama Throws the Palestinians under the bus. Their lives are worthless to Obama because he needs AIPAC. Bibi continues Israeli theft of Palestinian lands with impunity; Israel continues to slaughter and ethnically cleanse Palestinians with impunity.
Anyone who hoped for Obama to change course from G.W. Bush on the International Criminal Court should read the tea leaves on this one:

Nothing new to see here, folks, move along….Obama’s just continuing with his reversal of every campaign promise. Of course, we all knew he would. He’s a complete liar.

The other arab states have been throwing the palestinians under the bus for decades….using them as human shields to accomplish their end….destroying Israel…..Why don’t they learn to love their own children more than their fanatic hatred to destroy Israel…..Israel has been the innovators in the world of science…..why don’t the arabs concentrate on the betterment of their own people rather than shooting missiles into Israeli neighborhoods…..you liberal fascists have it all wrong and you feed into your racism.

Comment by mountainaires | 2009-09-24 19:06:42

The other Arab states have been “throwing palestinians under the bus for decades…”

Israel uses Palestinians as “human shields.” The Israeli Supreme Court was finally forced to rule against it; but the practice continues. And, “other Arab states” have also consistently sought US fairness with regard to the Palestinians at the UN Security Council. Yet, the US has blocked every vote to condemn Israeli ethnic cleansing and military occupation of the Palestinians. We–as a country, and as a people– are colluding in WAR CRIMES against the Palestinians.

When the rest of the world was throwing South Africans under the bus and ignoring their suffering under apartheid, did that make it right? Didn’t the divestment campaign do a good thing eventually, by forcing the world to admit their collusion in crimes against humanity? Or do you even know that history? I suspect not; just as you know nothing about what goes on in Israel or the West Bank or Gaza.

“Why don’t they love their own children…”

You are a bigot, and an ignorant bigot at that. I feel sorry for you. But, I won’t excuse your clear ignorance, because it is inexcusable. Your comment implies that Palestinians are all terrorists, who send their children out to blow themselves up. That is sheer bigotry, and an outright lie.

So: Are you a liar, or are you just ignorant?

Israelis force their children to serve in the military–by law. Do they love their children?

The fact is, Palestinians love their children; where you get the idea that they don’t is the same place, apparently, that you get the rest of the bigotry to have espoused in your comment. You really should be ashamed.

Israel has been the innovators [sic]of world science…” What “world science” has Israel innovated? Are you aware that Palestinians have made many scientific discoveries, been great writers, and statesmen? What is your point, except more bigotry; except to say that Israel has worth; Palestinians do not have worth. These are the words of the Nazis against the Jews; you realize that don’t you? You should be ashamed of yourself.

I’m neither a liberal or a fascist. You are the fascist, clearly, since you espouse the very same bigotry–nearly in the same words–that was espoused against the Jews in Nazi Germany during the 30s. Shame on you.

Pretty much, except the ad hominems at the end.

Arab tribal thugs love the proxy war with Israel.

They use actual Palestinian families, funded by Saudi, Iran and Syria (to name a few), to keep the conflict burning for their own political gain.

What is sad for humanity is how effectively tribalism and “designated enemies” work to keep the masses in line and to make them do what the leaders want.

Comment by mountainaires | 2009-09-24 21:11:39

Who is a “fascist?” I think you’ve got it backwards. Your bigotry is clear. You sound much like the Nazis did in Germany in the ’30s, when talking about the Jews. Maybe you’d better educate yourself. Here’s a start:

The headlines concerning the plot just uncovered in N.Y., should serve to remind us that all our enemies have not surrendered!
Of course, we no longer use “war on terror”…so passe, and the new leadership will not make any mistakes!

Obama making nice/nice with Gadafi is a stomach turner. Gadafi is happy with the nice African/Kenyan American president, isn’t he (his own words). How do these miserable dictators get a voice? Why is anyone listening to them? Why is Obama our president? IMO, he is an embarassment every time he tries to smooth things over with dictators around the world, reminding them it is all our fault for our former aggressive activity, talking to those who violate every human right in their own countries. Obama needs to be given a great big American history lesson. Methinks he spent too much time as a child learning about Indonesia, islam, Africa, Kenya, and not enough about the United States of America.

Comment by NomNomNom | 2009-09-24 14:50:19

“former aggressive activity”?
are you freaking serious? We have a military budget over 7 times that of our nearest competitor, we currently have soldiers fighting in at least 4 wars: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Philippines, training militaries in god knows how many more for our upcoming wars, & we have about 1000 foreign military bases http://www.fpif.org/fpiftxt/5903. We presently supply 68.4% of the worlds arms. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/07/world/07weapons.html?_r=1&ref=world
The USA is responsible for 41.5% of world military spending and our nearest rival is China at 5.8%, then France and the UK both at 4.5%, then Russia at 4%. http://www.globalissues.org/article/75/world-military-spending

There’s nothing former about it.

btw McCain led the delegation that recommended normalizing relations with Qaddafi because just like BHO & Bush2, McCain is another stooge for exxon, chevron, & military contractors.

Are you saying we should disband the military so we look “nice”?

Sorry, but playing nice in the sandbox is a fantasy. There is always at least one bully in the sandbox and one whimp, just because of people being individuals. I know who the whimp is in this sandbox and it’s our fauxPOTUS, but I think there are several bullies. If we ever needed to talk tough it would be now.

I agree with Larry that our leader is weak and that his word means nothing. IF, however, he concludes now that the war is not a war of necessity, I’d much rather have him speak up than take the easy route of giving the generals what they want.

If anyone wants to make the case one way or the other, my mind is open.

Comment by Eastan | 2009-09-24 21:34:07

Don’t blame me. I voted for the chicks.

I think the issue addressed in this article is about trust. If O changed his mind, then a he should act as a trustworthy person and explain that he did and why. If he just changes his position for political expediency, assuming we forgot his previous positions, (or if the position writers on the teleprompters change from time to time) then he is one we could say to: “YOU Lie!” Because, if you do not speak your own mind, your own heart or your own gut, you are guilty of personal intellectual dishonesty. You lie.

Would Ted Mac promote this guy to Ed Sullivan? I doubt it. Lip syncing was not allowed on that amateur hour show. Here is a 7 year old that has more talent that That One. The Pips liked her too.
