Recently, I posted a story entitled, “Children Singing In Praise Of The One,” with a video of children literally singing Obama’s praises, inserting HIS name where the name of JESUS had been. That was at the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, NJ. The school claimed that their song of praise and glory was fo r”Black History Month.” Uh huh.
Cain’t wait to hear what the excuse is, then, for this Homage to President Obama at the Sands Hill Elementary School in Asheville, NC:

Such indoctrination of our children is reminiscent of totalitarian regimes marching their children out in praise of the esteemed leader.”
Kindley and parents of students attending Jamestown Elementary began an email campaign to voice their concerns over the song, which persuaded the principal of the school, and Paul Daniels, a member of the District 5 Board of Education in Guilford Co., NC, to order the teacher who planned the performance to cancel the song. It was not sung at the graduation ceremony.
I would not have thought this was a Republican v. Democrat kind of thing. It seems to me to be an AMERICAN thing.
You know, Hillary Clinton’s presidency would have been even more historic, no matter how hard David Axelrove and Co. tried to play that down. We have NEVER Had a WOMAN of any color serve as president. Do you honestly think this would have been happening had she not had the nomination stolen from her? Honestly?? No. Nor would she have WANTED something like this.

If nothing else, these paeans to Obama demonstrate that the problem in our educational system will not be solved with more school days. But, knowing as little about education as he does about anything else, our Community-Organizer-in-Chief has yet to realize that the primary, if not sole, problem in our nation’s public schools is too many LOUSY TEACHERS.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard a teacher blame the parents…. BUT, interestingly, it was never the genuinely devoted and superior teachers who resorted to this accusation.

I recall from long ago seeing a very ugly White Supremecist doing his thing with his lovely young son, maybe age 5. I wondered what would happen to this handsome boy who seemed so sweet and innocent. Sure enough, years later there the boy-now-young-man was spewing his father’s hate with a vengeance and now totally owning it.
The young are so vulnerable to indoctrination, and this is clearly what is happening here.
Actually, this might be showing us a way around the whole “religion in schools” controversy: by making the object of worship a political figure rather than a religious figure, we can let our children pray joyously without any state-religion conflict. It makes me want to say “Hallelujah!” (in a secular sense, of course).

Don’t worry about not going to church. There’s nothing in the bible that says one has to–only to worship God. I personally believe that the whole creation is The Church and we are in it every single moment. But whether we act reverently or not is a personal choice that was given to all creatures. My opinion of course.
I think we need to quit trying so hard to hake history… and try harder to remember it. Teaching it in our schools again would be a good first start.

Another area we need to be concerned with are the grants that are going to be given to students to help with their education and in exchange they perform public service. I live in the area of the Asheville incident. I am not an Obama supporter. But that snippet was one small segment of a much longer program. The audience was full of both Democrats and Republicans and no one complained after the program, but now months later it has become an issue. I don’t think they should be doing this sort of thing in any kind of school, but let’s not make it out to be the Hitler Youth. I found the Jesus Camp worshiping of Bush’s Cardboard Cut-out much more disturbing.

I think Youtube pulls videos pretty much as soon as anybody complains. That is their policing mechanism. But what if this were a spring play? What if they were just singing about rain and flowers? I can’t see one parent getting bent out of shape because another put the group online. The only difference is this wasn’t about flowers and rain. The problems if any are with the content, which let’s face it… it would be inappropriate were it a video of only Obama’s own two kids. It would be unnatural for kids to worship their own parents.
Oh, I agree 100%. I’m one of those people that believe you should not name highways or buildings after people unless they have been dead for a 100 years. Historical hindsight takes longer than a few months, so to think Little O is something special as president after a month or so in office is ridiculous. (I think that program was in Feb if I remember the news report correctly).
