Gimme everything here…Gimme, Gimme

Bumped up from October 3rd. Check out the first printing for more comments.

……………………………………………………..

Because we are black[and impoverished and need inspiration] and we want it[because we are elite and special] and whoopee do.. America elected me, me, me! See it is not so bad. And we brought Oprah!

That is what the IOC heard in their speeches on Friday in Copenhagen. The Obamas should fire the speechwriter. But then again, what would they do with the fumbling, bumbling, and other inanities and stupidities going on in their own heads? These two self-absorbed people are unbelievably shallow.

moioc

In her speech [video below the fold] she invoked Martin Luther King with the subliminal word dream; recycled her dad’s story from her Democratic convention speech; lingered for half the speech on how her dad would have been proud to see the Olympics in his beloved hometown after having raised two smart children with values somehow inspired by sports.

She concluded her speech by throwing a Kennedy in there asking IOC to think about what Olympics can do for her and her city, her country. And, oh, she threw in some cheap theatrics with intonations, pauses, and voice modulations to affect emotion — for God’s sake, she is the first lady of the richest and the most powerful country on earth and she begged and pleaded [for inspiration]. And there was nothing much about what America will do for the Olympics or the world — nothing much about what was in it for the IOC or the world’s greatest athletes or even why it was their responsibility to come to Chicago and inspire her and others, and especially those other dads like her dad. See the stupidity of it all?

Earlier in another speech, she had insulted her Chicago delegation indicating how she and her buddies had sacrificed to go over to Copenhagen.

He as usual invoked his Kenyan dad; told the IOC they would fall in love with the city he fell in love with and as they already have fallen in love with his wife as he did; lectured them about diversity, dream (there it is again, the subliminal word), American dream and how he ran for the presidency to make the world a better place; how on a clear November night the Americans saw light and in their inordinate good sense elected him, the grand exhibit of everything diverse, and good, and full of hope and change. He concluded that the IOC will also find Chicago diverse, and full of Hope and Change. Oh, he threw in Olympics and its spirit along the way with his Hope and Change. And oh yes, he cautioned that the two-three weeks of celebrations in the name of Olympic spirit in the wonderful Chicago will not solve all the world problems. What a hoot!

[HT to moderateinthemiddle for the video]

Looks like they went in headlong with their tin ears. Did they at least make a sound and intelligent argument to the IOC? No, they threw gobbledygook at them(the same kind they have been throwing at the gullible American people) and the IOC was too smart to fall for it.

18 votes of the 94 total, two of them from our own members and eliminated in the first round.

And the word you don’t hear on this side of the Atlantic from the Obama media whores is HUMILIATION, but you can read about it here and here.

And why the hell did she wear GOLD? Wasn’t that incredibly juvenile?

Sorry off topic: But very disturbing…

Rep. Alan Grayson asks the Federal Reserve Inspector General about the trillions of dollars lent or spent by the Federal Reserve and where it went, and the trillions of off balance sheet obligations. Inspector General Elizabeth Coleman responds that the IG does not know and is not tracking where this money is.

He did the skit the other day with the “die quickly” signs where he emulated the role of Pee Wee Herman… I know you are, but what am I… everything he needs to know about congress he learned in kindergarten… then he saw it got him some money in, but not as much as “you lie” raised. So, now he is attacking the Federal Reserve… not because he necessarily cares, but he is checking out how much that might get him. Maybe he ought to be the next President… he has the Kabuki bit down.

I guess this underestimating the intelligence thing isn’t working out so well in the long run.

The bar for the presidency has been lowered to dangerous levels while the relevance and significance of the office have risen because of the perilous times we live in. This IOC presentation happened with the rest of the world watching. People from the rest of the world must have scratched their heads as MO talked patronizingly and at the same time in a needy personal way to IOC. It was unbecoming of her office or stature because rest of the world takes their presidency or prime-ministerships more seriously. And then Obama comes along to say he is going to apply his magic to IOC and the Olympics.

I just watched a National Geographic Channel special on Air Force One. For bho the fraud and me-chelle to abuse this most important airplane and its highly trained, dedicated staff is beyone stupid. The immense logistical planning for such a trip is unnerving enough, even with stellar military and civilian support. To put our public servants in danger, as every Air Force One flight is dangerous, for such flagrant narcissim is unconscionable.

Comment by pm317 | 2009-10-05 00:08:39

Remember how he had to fly to Denver (I think) to sign a bill. In the WH was not enough.

Comment by Athena the Warrior | 2009-10-05 13:04:11

That’s what is so annoying about him. Any other President would want the majesty of the White House as a back drop because it’s such a powerful symbol of America. Bo Bo on the other hand hates to be anywhere near the White House it seems.

You’d think he didn’t want to be associated with the power of America…Hey wait a minute!

Comment by ~~JustMe~~ | 2009-10-05 13:54:34

Seems he has the concentration span of a nat and cannot sit at his desk long enough to get anything done.

The Obamas must receive an eviction notice from the people.Regardless what color the WH tenant is, the taxpayers are demanding their money’s worth. They expect a working tenant. How disappointing for the hardworking citizens.

Your comment is only acceptable if you felt the same way about Dubya. Otherwise, your partisanship is showing.

Comment by proud mobster | 2009-10-05 03:10:55

Obama so boxed himself in that he is selling this country’s soul because the lefties demand it. As for the rest of the world Obama’s making it obvious that he can be rolled.

Comment by beebop | 2009-10-05 10:24:16

Most of us felt exactly the same. EXACTLY the same and expressed it over and over and over.

Oh.

Never voted for either of them.

When HRC was kicked to the curb by the power brokers, I voted for the adult on the ballot.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2009-10-05 10:49:42

Add me to that list: never supported Bush&Co. And after 8 disastrous years, the fact the Obama has turned out worse than my initial expectations, goes beyond disappointment.

Now I’m frigging angry!

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2009-10-05 11:17:11

You’re quite right, beebop and I agree. Morever, there are a lot of regulars who feel the same way:

We replaced one ignorant, dogmatic POTUS with another ignorant, dogmatic POTUS.

In light of recent events, I’m reconsidering the whole Mark Sanford scandal. Do you think there’s a possibility that his trip(s) to Rio were just about an affair? Inquiring minds want to know.

Comment by JozefAL | 2009-10-05 02:08:24

If I’m not mistaken, Sanford’s trips were to Buenos Aires, not Rio. Where you might have been led astray is that Buenos Aires lies on the shores of the Rio de la Plata, which is a river/estuary. The city of “Rio” is formally known as Rio de Janeiro. (Just for the record, we’re also dealing with two different languages. Buenos Aires, where Sanford went, speaks Spanish–a dialect known as rioplatense, meaning “pertaining to the Rio de la Plata”; the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics speaks Portuguese.)

Like Sara Palin, The IOC realized that all that glitters about the Obamas are “styrofoam pillars that are hauled to the studio back lots the very next day.’

Thanks to people like you Larry and new media out-lets like “No Quarter” America is now aware.

Wasn’t there just a big “oil” deal off of Brazil’s shoreline? I can’t remember which country?

Comment by Martha Washington Collier | 2009-10-05 12:06:09

It was Brazil. Wonder if Soros is involved? Ya think?

Comment by Fred | 2009-10-05 06:16:54

AF 1 AND 2 were flown to Denmark. Then the IOC were subjected to the prattling of TWO self absorbed yokels. They were gobsmacked when the members did not find President and Mrs Obama as wonderful as they find themselves and were thinking enough with the ME, ME, ME. Jarrett believed the IOC when they told her everything was just wonderful and Chicago was in the top two so send more hack politicians over while Rio just has some guy named Pele. They would have been better off digging up Al Capone and sending him there.

Comment by dave | 2009-10-05 07:37:32

Perhaps if they had brought Greek Olympic columns to Copenhagen, things would have gone better.

Oh well, hindsight is 20-20.

About that dress: It wasn’t “gold” according to one of the stories I read the next day. It was “chartreuse”.

Yeah. Right. Does the MSM ever stop trying to paper over the Obamas’ faux pas?

I caught a brief glance of a caption on Fox this morning: Gen. Petraeus in 2012?
I didn’t hang around for the story, but I have had it on my mind ever since.
Speaking for myself, that man is the total package: intelligent, decisive, low-key, and steady-handed!
No matter how badly Obama messes up, we are going to need to throw a power-house at him…please send us one!

This “vote for me/us since I’m black” crap worked on the American people and the Obamas will use it ad infinitum to sell whatever snake oil he wants to peddle this week. Many Americans were gullible and guilt-ridden and so fell for BO’s con hook, line and sinker. It’s getting a little old, however, as that is all Mr. O. has to offer, this “pick me because I’m black” routine. If he plans to go on the road again, he needs to come up with a new routine.

Comment by Docelder | 2009-10-05 10:39:08

The underlying theme was multiculturalism and diversity. Look at us, now we are now diverse. Pick us… we are diverse… That One is a testament to how diverse and multicultural we really are now. To prove it, throw up a couple of black runners from 1936 that competed for the US even though they were denied basic human rights. Create a sore for those on the IOC that don’t have one and then the Obama’s can pick at that sore… and pick at that sore and pick at it. I guess community organizing doesn’t work at the IOC level. But, they thought that the IOC would feel bad and that they could pick Chicago and it would be a salve for their pain. They treated the world IOC like they were a bunch of poor people in the hood. Fail.

Comment by Osellingbullshit | 2009-10-05 11:12:49

I never thought that America would sink to this level of incompetency after what the country endured with Bush and Company. Now the Obamas are pushing down on Americans other level of incompetency couples with piggishness and classlessness. These people are shameless.

Seems like Obama is self-destructing and this is sad. If he fails, then the country fails. And we will not have another black (or half-black) president for a generation.

Comment by Docelder | 2009-10-05 12:02:45

Obama is self-destructing and this is sad. If he fails, then the country fails.

I would normally agree, but normally the President would have the best interests of the nation at heart. So, in this case conventional wisdom does not apply. This man has an agenda. That agenda is not in our best interests as a nation. People can disagree on who sets that agenda… but it is starting to appear that providence is on our side for some reason and that we may just dodge this threat. Obama wasn’t ready to lead, and it was too soon to go for all the marbles.

Comment by Martha Washington Collier | 2009-10-05 12:19:23

Personally, I am not a big fan of Colin Powell but is there anyone on the planet who doesn’t think that he’d have done a better job than 0zer0? He has the heft and knowledge of both the military and DC workings. He looks like he could be in charge of something and actually have insight to problems and their solutions. Not suggesting…just sayin’.

Presently we have a know-nothing-nobody at the helm and the truth, of what all here at NQ perceived in 2008, is beginning to make itself an indisputable fact to the Hopers and Changers. Big Time. And if tomorrow, he declared himself white, raised by whites and with Caucasian sensibilities, he would be exactly the same unqualified jackass we have now.

Comment by Ferd Berfle | 2009-10-05 12:25:35

Psst: Martha… don’t give him any ideas. The undercarriage of the bus is full to overflowing. He’d have to actually find that side of himself and then put the other side in its stead.

Comment by Phillymiss | 2009-10-05 17:56:57

Yes, he’s clearly in over his head. I can’t understand why so many people refuse to see this. Bush was not a good president, but in the long run Obama may prove to be worse.

Danes explain why Obama failed
It comes down to respect.

President Obama showed none.

And in the end, the Olympics committee returned the favor by humiliating the president of the United States, according to stories in the Berlingske Tidende newspaper in Copenhagen. The Google translations are a tad rough, but serviceable.

The front page headline read: “Rio vandt — Obama tabte” or “Rio won — Obama lost.”

That story began: “The world’s most powerful man traveled to Copenhagen to ensure the Olympics to Chicago in 2016. But sensational smoke Americans out in the first round, while the IOC members did hosting the Rio de Janeiro.”

Kai Holm, a former Olympics committee member, told the newspaper (translated): “The fact that Barack Obama came, could not do it. I think we lacked emotion, it seemed too empty and business-like. So when Tony Blair promoted London he was around three days to lobby and talk to people. You can not just come with the train one day and try to affect everything. People have felt that it was a lack of respect for the Olympics and sport in general. I think people felt it was too business-like to get into the way we have now seen it many times, and you would have feelings back.”

Hans Bonde, professor of sport history at the University of Copenhagen, told the newspaper: “Here come the more favor Obama just before the deadline and made showoff. He clearly won the battle in the media, but it turned out indeed to be indifferent. IOC members did not feel important, and they were indeed reduced to spectators and not players. So if he had come, he would have had time for a personal lubricant.”

OK, that last word likely is a poor substitute for what the guy said. (UPDATE: A reader said buttering up is likely what is meant.)

Obama was the first president to make such a plea. But Obama showed dumb diplomacy. He was ill-prepared and his staff failed to lay the foundation for his appearance. He came off as an ugly American who knew nothing about the territory and who felt the world somehow owed him something.
