ACORN’s Fall Continues

Yes, indeedy - another videotape courtesy of James O’Keefe, the “pimp,” and his “prostitute girlfriend,” Hannah Giles, in a Philadelphia ACORN office. Only this time, O’Keefe is firing back at the ACORN employee who claimed she showed them the door tout de suite. But first, a round-up about this latest video at the National Press Club:

Here is the expanded version of the video O’Keefe mentioned:

Why is it people don’t understand the concept of videotape?? Unlike the introductions to “Mission Impossible,” it does NOT self-destruct after being played just once! So when someone goes on camera to make a claim, they might want to make sure there isn’t a recording somewhere refuting their claims. I’m just sayin’.

You may recall that these videos raised the issues of funding for ACORN and investigations into their practices. Rep. John Conyers decided to, once again, investigate this organization. As a result of this expose, both the House and the Senate voted to cut their funding. Rightly so, I might add.

But not so fast - it is possible that funding will be restored once the FY 2010 Budget is passed, thus cutting ACORN’s funding for TWO months. Clearly, this is something we will have to watch, but that this is even possible is absurd. Apparently, our elected representatives think we’re a bunch of idiots. Let’s make sure they know we aren’t.

Until then, ACORN’s continued fall couldn’t happen to a more deserving group, don’t you think?

This is so much fun! Yes, RRRA, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving group.

I can’t wait for the trial about the illegal taping in Baltimore. They may lose the case, but I am betting that just as with the Ward Churchill case here in CO, the jury may award a $1.00 fine or something to show their contempt for the real offender, in this case ACORN. In any case, I don’t see the ACORN office making any PR headway with their little law suit.

I wonder what the legal ramifications are of their filing that report in Philedelphia of his being thrown out, etc. Could they get in trouble for filing a false report?

I can also imagine all the head spinning going on over at Media Matters, too. Even when I was a Dem, I stopped following that site. I had naively thought they would be “fact checking” stories on both sides, not just finding ways to rationalize stories that didn’t show Dems in a good light.

I want to start a fan club for O’Keefe and Giles. These two young people have provided the best entertainment I’ve had in a long time, some balm for the wounds ACORN inflicted during the primary.

Now, we need young people willing to follow the money to tie our Dear Leader to ACORN during the election and make it end up on the MSN too.

Yes, young people have shown themselves to be total idiots in regard to videotape. It’s going to come back and bite you so don’t do the crime if you don’t want to do the time, as they say.

Great strategy, holding back on all the tapes so the ACORN people can hang themselves.

I think I’ll go back and watch the tapes again, just for fun.

Comment by Freedom Fighter | 2009-10-22 23:12:21

How could it be a false report? Reporting a couple of rightwing nuts who want to start a brothel of underage immigrant girls is illegal? According to Media Matters, the Philadelphia police confirmed the police report. So, you are totally wrong here.

Comment by Country First | 2009-10-22 23:58:14

Unbelievable! Watch the video tapes again!

How could it be a false report?
HAHAHAHAHA

In Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Corruption…

do you know how long it took for that (backdated) report to be filed, once ACORN became front page news? A New York minute!

LMAO at your naivete and lack of appreciation for the “Philadelphia Way”

From the town that brought you Pay to Play as a municipal employee entitlement: A “contemporaneous” police report…yeah, uh-huh, right.

As one of our illustrious Jewelers’ Row merchants used to say:

“Go sell it in Hong Kong”

what a rube

Comment by Freedom Fighter | 2009-10-22 20:54:33

You can’t hear what the CORN employee said in the video, so how can you jump to conclusions? An how do you explain the police report. Anyway, I think ACORN is right that people should ignore Fox because it’s not a news channel. If you are a real Democrat, you should be following the president’s and Newsweek’s leads and ignore FauxNews.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2009-10-22 21:02:33

Oh, yes - now Democrats support censorship of the media? Well, I shouldn’t be surprised since they no longer care abt the will of the voter, or voter fraud, or theft of votes/caucuses…So, yeah, censorship should be an easy next step.

Um - the point is, she clearly did NOT show them the door, as she claimed, she clearly was NOT upset, as a police report would indicate, and oh, btw, as the bright blogger Nunly pointed out, to file a false police report is ILLEGAL. At no time did she seem the least bit upset with them. Kinda makes her look like a big liar…

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2009-10-22 21:42:10

Gee Amy, remember when we thought the Dems were the champions of the First Amendment? Now we have Dems [or FF, pretending to be a loyal [blind] Dem] who champion censorship by banning Fox News or turn a blind eye to a clearly rotten organization called ACORN.

We have fallen down the rabbit hole [ass backwards, I think :0)].

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2009-10-22 21:50:32

I agree. I cannot believe what the Democrats have become. I can’t believe I was so loyal and faithful for so many years, only to see what lying cheating thieving dictators they can be. I can’t believe how much I used to want a Super Majority by the Dems, and now they scare the CRAP out of me.

Yes, yes we have fallen down the rabbit hole…

No one is perfect, but the question you need to axe yourself is, which party supports LGBT and African American causes?

Comment by tf | 2009-10-23 00:19:21

THAT’S what we should be asking?

really - that’s what you think is more important here? in case you haven’t noticed, our country is literally on the brink & slowly morphing into something that scares the living hell out of me, and this is how you choose to support them? thats insane!!

and no - they don’t actually support them - they “use” them by rewarding them with some crap legislation/entitlement (whatever) and then hold it over their heads - “vote for us, or the repubs will take it away..”

see how that works? now they have a dedicated voting block. doesn’t matter if they are ideologically opposed to what they are doing, if they wish to keep the scraps they are given they must continue to put these a$$hats in office. they have never helped anyone with this shell game, they just divide us by race/sex/religeon, control us with a mix of social incentives & political correctness (to control the conversation & flow of information) and then use us like pieces on a chess board to shore up their political power.

they are scum, and its bottom-feeders like yourself that perpetuate it.

I am not sure how you can say it’s clear they weren’t shown the door when the audio for the ACORN employees were muted. How do you know she didn’t tell the duo to take a hike? Media Matters has said the police report is legit, so why would that be illegal?

Also, I am not sure why you think it’s censorship to ignore FauxNews. The White House isn’t shutting them down, and the fact that the White House sees FauxNews in the same light as TMZ, there’s no need to grant them interviews. There are plenty of legit news organizations like CNN, MSNBC, Newsweek, NYT to waste time on Faux.

Freedom Fighter — if you had paid attention to the video, you would have heard them talking about having to mute the ACORN worker’s words for legal reasons. You would have also heard an over-voice stating the words the worker uttered as she said them. And you would have also noticed that her lips formed the words exactly as they were spoken. Please go back and watch again.

She lied. She got caught. It’s so simple a caveman Democrat can understand it.

Comment by Diana L. C. | 2009-10-23 04:50:00

The truth will come out in the timing. When, exactly, did she file the report? At whose urging? Why, then, the need to lie about so many things that she clearly lied about?

IMHO, the report came as tis woman started realizing that maybe she was being played. She had the meeting with them following ACORN practices–said things like the fact that ACORN does NOT discriminate against anyone (even prostitutes wanting to use government money to set up brothels). Then later, maybe her brain had a little more knowledge in it than the normal ACORN staff person’s and she realized that SHE could get in trouble (since ACORN, the organization, would hang her out to dry), and she filed the false report.

Maybe she did it as news was spreading through ACORN that they were being “outed.”

So, yes, the timing will also tell us a lot.

As I said, I can’t wait to see this all played out.

Just wish our justice system worked a bit faster, though I do understand the need for some time, as in not rushing to judgment in regard to innocent people.

Comment by Diana L. C. | 2009-10-22 21:08:12

For LEGAL reasons they edited the sound. In court, they will be able to allow people to hear. But the tape was clear evidence that she LIED. They were dressed funny, they stayed longer than a few minutes, they mentioned prostitution twice. All those bits are evidence that she LIED. The take is also evidence that they weren’t shown the door, at least in the manner that she claimed they were.

LIARS–Yes, Free-dumb, you support liars. Wait until someday you have to read evidence about your Messiah’s illegal dealings re ACORN during the election, in which he LIED to you about how all his money came from the “little” people who supported him.

Now, go bury your head in the sand since it has been exposed to the “light of day” more than you are used to.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2009-10-22 21:36:53

Or the mulitple investigations by the FBI for fraudulant practices and voter registration tampering. Or the innumerable covers that the organization uses to to play games with government funds [which means taxpayer funds--that's you and me, in case you were wondering.]

I’ve got a thought. Let’s make a case and defend the Mob, the poor misunderstood mobsters. But they’re Democrats, you say. And an ethnic minority!

“The Cambridge police acted stupidly.”
“I’ll stand with the Muslims.”
“White man’s greed feeds a world in need.”
“I will end Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.”

This is not Fox News. This is America. News is news no matter where it comes from, as long as it is true. And the Fox team is doing nothing but telling the truth.

I am an independent who has declared that if a party called the Independents is created I will re-register as an non-political person.

We, the people, do not oppose Obama for his politics. We oppose him for his political philosophy and how his creators are influencing the absolute changes in how we depend on our democratic (and democratic has nothing to do with democrat or republican) freedoms.

I am tired of people trying to make us LIKE HIM. I want him to do some thing that we will like.

RRRA,

I know you’re watching your Yankees now, but want you to know how much I appreciate this post. I read a little blurb tucked away way inside our local paper about the press conference and the release of this tape. So, Ive be waiting all day for this, knowing I could count on NQ.

I want to start an O’Keefe/Giles fan club. They have provided me the best entertainment for a long time, balm for the wounds I received from ACORN during the primary. What a brilliant strategy they have–I’m sure with the help of BigGovernment.com–to hold back this video until now and let the generous folks at ACORN hang themselves with it.

I’m also having fun imagining the heads at Media Matters spinning out of control. Even back when I was a Dem I stopped reading their stuff. I had stupidly felt they were going to be a “fact checking” site, not a site designed simply to rationalize any bad news the “progressives” got. OMG–how are they going to spin this? It will be interesting watching this play out.

And the court case over the Baltimore tape–that will be fun, too. I can imagine ACORN may win, but if it’s a jury trial (I don’t know how these things work, really), I could also imagine the jury doing the same type of thing they did here in CO to Ward Churchill when he “won” his case: They awarded him a whopping $1.00 settlement.

And could that report the office in Philly filed come back to bite them? Could they get a false reporting charge? I can’t wait for the next installment.

All this will be so much fun to watch play out, because I just can’t see ACORN winning much in the way of PR support with this. The American people, I can’t imagine, want their tax money spent on this kind of idiocy, so I think many heads will be lost if ACORN somehow does start receiving government funding again.

The major thing I’m looking forward to is the revelation about the POTUS’s illegal use of ACORN during the election. I know, I know–we here already know about it, but somehow it HAS to make it to the cable media. Please tell me someone has provided information to Beck on this.

Yep, you’re absolutely right. This news couldn’t happen for a more “deserving” group.

Comment by Diana L. C. | 2009-10-22 21:32:57

OOPS–sorry for the double post. I waited and thought my first one didn’t go through, so tried again.

But it doesn’t matter–I just mean it twice as much.

Comment by Obamastolemycountry | 2009-10-22 22:21:29

I sent many, many things on to Beck, Hannity, and at the time still thinking CNN or MSNBC may pick them up. Beck wouldn’t touch most of it. Hannity picked up some. I’m not saying because I sent it in, mind you. Several people sent info to the MSM. It is very sad that too many feared hurting the Messiah last year. Imagine the difference if the news had actually covered the stories No Quarter regulars new about!!!!

I do think Beck is doing this slowly. He has mentioned the connections of ACORN, SEIU, New Orleans and the Obama campaign and even this CSI “lighting” payment on his show, but only briefly and adding bits and pieces at a time. I am not sure Beck’s plan, but he does have one. Judging by the number of White House head exploding, I’d say he is getting under their skin a bit, huh?

I was a young adult when the second term of the Nixon administration began to unravel and “Watergate” became a household word. “Tricky Dick” had a shady political history from his beginning days in California politics. But he too made it all the way to the White House. In fact he was re-elected for a 2nd term when the “manure hit the fan”. However unlike Obama, Nixon was much more seasoned and experienced. He had been governor of California, vice-president under Eisenhower, and he had previously ran for president against Jack Kennedy and almost won. However, like Obama, Nixon was arrogant and paranoid. I think those two traits ultimately led to his downfall. What’s interesting about Obama is he has not even served one year in the White House but he and his democratic congress and all the shady and/or radical characters he has surrounded himself with are already beginning to come apart at the seams.

Comment by oldmediatype | 2009-10-23 00:40:06

Though Nixon committed high crimes and misdemeanors, at least he was not anti-American. Obama is. Neither one got my vote. Both disgraced the office of the presidency. Obama did it in record time. Everyday I awake hoping that indisputable evidence worthy of a perp-walk will surface. Until Obama is out of office I will worry about the future of our country.

FYI. Nixon was never governor of California. He ran and lost in 1962.

Comment by Cathy in Ks. | 2009-10-23 01:44:45

Thanks, oldmediatype. I should have done a “fact check”. My memory of Nixon’s earlier political career was when I was a child. My parents were “dyed in the wool democrats” and intensely disliked Nixon. They are both deceased. I have a feeling they are rolling over in their graves to see what has become of the leadership in the democratic party today.
I also agree with you that Nixon was not anti-American but Obama is. I did not vote for Nixon or Obama either. As for the evidence, it’s out there. Election day in November, 2010 is going to be a “day of reckoning” for many guilty as well as innocent democrats in congress. However I share your worry and concern about our country’s future. Obama and his minions do not seem to care about the will of the people nor our constitutional rights.

Nixon was a Congressman and Senator from California.

His House career was stellar from a Republican point of view. He was a rookie superstar, doing heavy lifting on the Marshall Plan and Unamerican Activities, where he nailed Alger Hiss, a Soviet spy who had even fooled John Foster Dulles. His vision was to defeat Communism without starting WWIII.

Obama-Nixon checklist:

Obama - juvenile, narcissistic liar.
Nixon - paranoid pathological liar.

Obama - declared war on free press.
Nixon — declared war on free press.

Obama — lives by charisma and style.
Nixon — zero charisma, zero style.

Obama — zero substance
Nixon — dogged workhorse

Obama - did nothing in Congress
Nixon - heavy lifter in Congress

Obama — appoints Communists to high position
Nixon - smoked Soviet spy out of high position

Obama — surrounded by disciples of Mao Tse Tung
Nixon — forced Mao to negotiating table

Obama — got played by Russia
Nixon — played Russia off of China and vice-versa

Obama — won Peace Prize for nothing
Nixon — achieved detente with Soviet nuclear superpower, made peace with Chinese nuclear superpower, got no credit

Obama — dependent on advisors
Nixon — harnessed talents of psychopath Kissinger, put K’s genius to good use

Obama — Harvard mouth
Nixon — turned down Harvard scholarship to attend small Quaker college

Obama — betrayed his Presidential vision
Nixon — fufilled his Presidential vision in Cold War
