President Obama Is Insulting Americans Again
By Ani on October 24, 2009 at 2:55 PM in Arrogance, Barack Obama, Current Affairs, Elitism, Hillary Clinton, Obama Administration, Obama's Characteristics, Obama-Barack & President Barack (PARENT CATEGORY FOR ALL OBAMA REFS.!), President Barack Obama
(Bumped up from Friday.)
MSNBC carried a blip of President Obama speaking in New York at a fundraiser. Sadly, the President is up to his old tricks. Remember when he was at a hoity-toity fundraiser in San Francisco and complained of Pennsylvania voters “clinging to God and guns”? That didn’t go over so well. Remember Gates-gate where Obama declared that “the police acted stupidly” before he knew all the facts?
Here, in the name of passing health care he says that “Democrats are an opinionated bunch” likely referring to the trouble he’s been having with the Blue Dogs. He said “y’all thinking for yourselves.” Then he says that Republicans basically “do what they’re told.” His robotic arm movements to make fun of “the other party” are really a sight to behold. When is a President supposed to make fun of American citizens — some of whom actually voted the man into office.
See for yourselves…
Interesting however, is that while he pretends to praise the fact that Democrats are “thinking for themselves” what he is really saying is that he wants Democrats to “do as they are told” as far as passing his fiasco of a health care proposal. Yet he belittles Republicans for “doing as they’re told.”
Which is it Mr. President?
When exactly would he like us to think for ourselves? I guess we already know the answer to that. The real problem is Republicans and quite a few in his own party are not following his instructions.
I don’t like bullies and I don’t care which party they belong to. It is grossly inappropriate for the President of the United States to belittle millions of people. This health care bill has never been adequately explained, nor is it formed. Yet in the midst of a disastrous economy, struggling citizens are asked to forego all good sense and follow the President and this Congress off a cliff without first asking any pertinent questions.
No one, regardless of party, whether an average citizen or a representative in Congress should be “doing as they are told.” What is required now is something we have all too little of — people thinking for themselves, getting all the facts and making a reasoned decision based on what is best for their families and for the country.
The President’s arrogance is staggering. And like the senseless feud he has started with FOX News, the one organization that refuses to pour the Kool-Aid, this is another example of behavior that lessens the gravitas of the office to which he was elected. As Hillary Clinton said during the primary last year, “You don’t need a President who looks down on you.”
I wonder if even those who voted for him are starting to feel this behavior is divisive and destructive.
Thoughts?

There is no smaller package in all the world than that of a man all wrapped up in himself.
HARP: LOL!
Dang, HARP - you’ve just been on fire recently!
Ani, great post, though like PumaSF, I can barely stand to listen to this man.
Surely his condescension and arrogance to not only the Republicans, but his OWN SUPPORTERS, will start to bite him. The sooner the better, IMHO, but still - wow - shocking…
I can’t listen to him either. I already know the tone, the smug smirk on his face, the self-satisfaction. And again, the ultimate in hypocrisy: he was going to be both transparent and post-partisan.
I also can’t stand it when he gets all fake folksy on his audience. Remember the “old okeedoke, and bamboozled?” Phony.
fif, don’t forget *post-racial*. Yes, from 2004 until that fateful January night of 2008 in Iowa he was above the frey, never acknowledging there had ever been racism in America.
In his acceptance speech after *winning* that first contest, the Iowa caucuses, he suddenly began ‘trying’ to immitate MLK….”They said it couldn’t be done!” I was thinking, “what is he doing or why is he doing this?” It would be the first of many such immitations.
The only thing is - he is no MLK! I doubt there will ever be another MLK and B0 SURE isn’t one.
Thanks to a poster below here is another example of BO’s nasty petulance and pettiness.
Yet another example of BO’s pettiness:
“Little tidbits of truth coming out, such as his [Obama's] comment about avoiding a food channel show because it had a Fox-like audience:
‘He personally decided not to go on “Paula’s Home Cooking,” because according to White House sources, the Georgia-based Paula Deen’s cooking was not healthy enough, and her demographic skewed to the same demographic as Fox News. According to one very high-ranking source, ‘We are going to screw her just like we screwed Fox News.’”

Excellent, Harp!
HARP, you have the best comments. You should write for Letterman. Maybe YOU can make him funny.
I just did a speech on body language for(watch out) the Chamber of Commerce last week.
Obama has the most negative gestures of any President I’ve seen in the past 20+ years.
His constant use of the “pointer”(which is THE most negative hand gesture of them all) shows his utter contempt for his audience. It says, “Do as I say” “Obey me”.
Then he uses the karate chop, another negative gesture, which is a way of “cutting down” the audience.
In other speeches I’ve noticed that he consistently gives his audience the back of his hand. This is also negative and dismissive of the listener. He never uses “open palm” gestures, which indicate openness and honesty.
Without even knowing it, Obama is “giving the back of his hand” to ALL of us through his body language. IMHO, he needs a freaking coach. But that will probably never happen because he’s been told what a great orator he is. Personally, I think he sucks as a speaker.
I don’t even need to listen to what he says, because his body language says it all.
And, of course, don’t forget that he’s given us all the finger, on numerous occasions…
.
remember how they accused President Clinton of the wagging finger, but I guess it is a pass for anything that OB wants to do, criticism free zone.
Just shows how anything Bill did, he was attacked, while OB looks more and more like Wright {not MLK}and I guess its cool with them.
But, we knew this was the way it was ,didn’t we?
no experience, spiteful, racist, whining, elitist, condescending ,control freak with all his czars to make us subservient.
I can hardly stand to listen to that condescending POS any more. He’s just about offended everyone in this country, hasn’t he? Isn’t it time for impeachment proceedings?
Would that we had someone in power willing to impeach…It’s not going to happen.
impeachment would happen if we get enough republicans in the house and the senate. im sure they are just as sick of him as we are and i wouldnt be surprised if there are as many dems. who would like to see him gone. myself for one.
When he starts calling for amnesty–which is illegal and unconstitutional–he should be impeached.
quite the contrary. he is offending no one but all you haters. are you seriously saying his hand movements indicate he is looking down on people? he is speaking reality - democrats do think for themselves, unlike Republicans who get in line with whatever their leaders say - as a result democrats often suffer from a lot of infighting and take a lot longer to get things done. that is all he is saying, period. no hidden meaning at all.
if you all can’t stand listening to him and hate him so much WHY on earth do you keep him as your number one topic day after day?? I think its because you know you are the minority here - not everyone hates him, get it?? he has plenty of supporters and we are doing just fine.
you might not get your wish - he just might not fail and then what will you do??
Read the Hubris comment above and then get out of your pajamas. 7-11 has a sale. Free 3-D glasses when you buy Red Bull and stay awake all night promoting hubris. This promotion just now happened. It is on all the military recruitment posters in their stores. Hurry now.
I just choked on my coffee!
lmao good one WV!!!!!
Go, West Virginia! Glad I wasn’t drinking my soda just now. Can’t you all just see a book of pity blogger comments of the last few years–The Pimping of the Presidency by We the People. Come on HARP, Peggy Sue et al, cough up a catchy title for America Knows You Suck, Fraud.
Pithy, not pity.
I was always partial to For Whom the Bots Toil.
or Big Two-Faced Liar.
OMG, LMAO!
He will fail. What will you do then? Find a real democrat?
People like Carol will continue to vote for Obama no matter how bad of a President he is because their egos won’t let them do any thing less. They are just like the robots that Obama was talking about. Hence the name “Obot”….mindless Obama supporter.
How can anyone watch this guy for two years and not feel/see/hear the reeking arrogance coming off of him? And explain this Carol: where is President Post-partisan, as he promised? He’s not getting his way, and when he doesn’t, he starts insulting and trying to demean his opponents. Time after time. Where have you been?
And if you think he is a real Democrat, you reveal that you really don’t do your research. Bush III.
Everyone tells Carol what to think and do! It’s her history. The educational system failed her as she was educated to repeat the answer and not to think critically.
he just might not fail and then what will you do??
Stop the Critical
(thinking)mass fest?he has plenty of supporters and we are doing just fine.
there’s that “we” again. or stop the “we-fest”.
Great channeling Donna Brazile.
TGIF all.
To quot the much loath Ms Brazilla “Stop the hate.” And if he does suceed then I get the pspiteful pleasure of watching your reaction, there nothing like seeing a fool get what he thought he wanted.
To quote the much loath Ms Brazilla “Stop the hate.” And if he does suceed then I get the pspiteful pleasure of watching your reaction, there nothing like seeing a fool get what he thought he wanted.
Gawd, fif. If you start listing all the promises That One has broken, you’re going to keep poor Carol up past her bed time.
So, you mean you actually LIKE looking up his nose? It’s just amazing to me that in most the photos of him, I see him looking down with his nose up high.
People hate the hateful things he’s done.
It would be wonderful if he were to do well as President. We all need good news.
For me, this is not about hating but about noting a pattern of someone being condescending and bullying when he does not get his way. I am at a loss to understand his attitude and frankly, if you can look at that tape and cannot discern that he is being condescending, then I don’t know what else to say.
If you are happy with the President, more power to you. In all seriousness, I would like to ask you what it is that you are pleased with in terms of his accomplishments so far, apart from him presenting a different “image” to the world. When you have even Arianna Huffington (one of his biggest fans) complaining about Wall St and that he should not have hired Geithner and Summers, then we have a problem.
He is the POTUS and his behavior, what he chooses to focus on and what he pushes to the wayside tells us a great deal about his priorities. As a general rule, many look to the POTUS for leadership and guidance.
I would also like to remind you of an example re Gov. Schwarzenegger of CA. When he was first elected, he used much of the same rhetoric as Obama. His speech upon being sworn in was actually kinda moving. So what did he do when first in office? He called his state legislators a “bunch of girlie men” — now they may have obstructed him anyway- but his insulting them the way he did really hurt him. Why would anyone go out of their way to try to work with someone who puts them down regularly?
Further, Obama ran as a “uniter” and the day after he got into office he told Republicans “I won” and has pretty much shut them out since — even though a number of them liked him and were willing to give him a chance. I think that is important to note.
He is creating this divisiveness as much as anyone, and shutting Republicans out of the debate and insulting them is not the way to get anything done. Furthermore, he has large majorities in both houses and still has not managed to do much of anything (even Jon Stewart and a lot of his big supporters are complaining about that) — he can hardly point to a party lost at sea, a minority roaming the wilderness as the people who are standing in his way.
Ani, a good follow up to your post is John’s at Liberal Rapture–Obama’s waterloo.
Heck he divided the Democrats more than I can ever remember them divided, so why anyone was foolish enough to believe he would untie the country, I’ll never understand.
BTW He has been in office close to 10 months, I STILL haven’t gotten my mortgage paid for or gas for my car, when we start getting the money it will be retroactive wont it?
Yes, you’re right. It is. Thanks for pointing it out.
Yeah, Ani, you’re right about Arianna Huff-Puff — but she, like the other Bots knew very well during the primaries and before the GE who BO’s economic advisers were. It was a no-brainer to assume that he would have Geithner and Sommers driving a corporatist agenda, and yet Arianna and her fellow Bots rabidly supported and voted for him.
I’ve heard scores of republicans say the exact opposite - that republicans go in all different directions, and the dems do as they’re told.
IMO, it’s just a generalization that is sometimes true of both parties. They can each throw it at the other when the winds are right.
why carol, you silly girl, he has already failed. now thanks for playing but you don’t get the prize. don’t slam the door on your way out.
Why do we keep him as our number one topic??? You really have to ask, Carol? How thick are you?
We watch him closely because he is dangerous as few presidents have been. He is hell bent on destroying democracy and if you can’t see that, you need to go back to Kos where you can nod your little head up and down at every little thing the big O does. Here, we question, we analyze and we seek truth. We do not give blanket endorsements of bad policy here.
Perhaps you like the idea of not being allowed to live as you like, think as you like, even spend as you like. You perhaps want the government to turn you into some sort of robot who is willing to say yes to Obama’s every picadillo. Free will, privacy rights, the Constitution…ever year of them? I think not. Move on. You are a misfit.
Some Republicans think for themselves just fine. Just as some Democrats do. Making a blanket statement like that is stupid and is only meant as a nice littel “redmeat” insult to the opposition to fire up the base.
Defending such a statement is even sillier. It was meant as an insult in a nation that prides itself on being rugged individualists. Although damn few are. And the “y’all” bull is so condescending for a Harvard educated man, don’t you think? Pretending to be “all” folksy is phony. But then dimwitted Obamacrats seem to fall for it again and again.
Some “conservatives” seem to be getting a bit fractious in the 23rd District of NY these days. Perhaps they didn’t know that they are not supposed to “think” for themselves.
“haters”? sounds like you got that word from ‘your Barak Obama’. Please try to reason things out for yourself. The fact is that he could improve his delivery if he spoke from the heart.
You poor delusional child. He has already failed to live up to any of his campaign promises and each day the country loses more respect for our poseur in chief. Check the value of the dollar lately? Wake up before you are under the bus too!
Wow, where to start with this incredible line of bullshit.
I imagine that you rather like getting the finger, huh, Carol? You’re an insulting little snip.
And sing the praises of That One. mmmmm-mmmm-mmm. You’re a cultist.
If you m o r o n s didn’t put him in office, we wouldn’t give that slacker a
secondfirst thought. Nice try, though, troll.Oh, snookums, did he pay your rent and make your car payment? LMAO
He is failing now, otherwise you wouldn’t be here parading around your abject ignorance on your shirtsleeves. Considering the wretched content of your comment, I’d say you’re the newest poster child for the NCLB Act. Too bad it failed you, too.
Passing this on via deweyfromdetroit.com
LMAO!! Martha, that is priceless. Hahahahahaha
Fabulous!
Carol (and Everyone),
Here is a snippet from the new complaint of election fraud for the state of MD, which will be posted tomorrow.
I am also revising all previously posted complaints to state A’sG so as to better evidence the extremely strong circumstantial case that supports these charges, and which more accurately expresses to these A’sG our continuing outrage at the conduct of the DNC in the 2008 general election.

Turn the volume on to mute and watch him. Funny how he can only bounce his head back and forth reading other people’s words from telepromtrs and has the gall to critique the thinking processes of others.
Yes and I am still surprised he’s not started reading his speeches in Spanish. Remember out on the stump he said we were lazy and needed to learn another language.
Guess that’s only for the little people the guy from the big house can do as he pleases?
Well, I have decided to learn to speak Austrian.
Too bad Austrians don’t speak it. They speak German.
She knows. She was referring to yet another gaffe by 0.
So was I. Sorry I was unclear.
Well he does speak a second language–it’s called English. His primary language is mumbo-jumbo or gobbledegook.
Watching that video disgusts me. Have we ever had a president act that way, so snotty and condescending??
Entirely agree. How cheap. How low-class. How not Hillary.
He had a bit of a bump up in Rasmussen today. Only at -9. Is that his attack on Fox? Health care? Sample error? Or just a blip on the radar? I posted earlier, and I stand by it, that his poll numbers will go up as we approach the anniversary of his election and all the rosy remembrances are aired. Good timing for him. We’ll have to keep digging for the truth.

Thanks for the link. Good article. One of the comments over there has a link to a CNN article about 0 not endorsing Deeds–a Democratic gubernatorial candidate in VA–because Deeds may not win. In fact 0’s camp has already started planting seeds that it’s not their fault when Deeds loses. (I live close to VA, and truly, this is one they should have been able to win. An old thesis of Deeds’ opponent came out and that opponent had some extremely sexist stuff in there. VA is usually R but went for 0. If 0 had any clout, he could have helped Deeds.) Anyway, I didn’t go too far into the comments at CNN, but the ones I read were very anti-0.
Same as the Olympics million dollar flyover. He wasn’t going to go because he/Chicago might not win, then the White House got a “leak” that it was going to Chicago, so he went. That’s why, on the plane flight home, after they’d learned they came in last place, he got on the phone lamblasting those who told him to go (Jarrett, etc).
Hey, he’s never had to work for anything, so he has no concept of trying and failing and getting back up. It’s all about “the show” for him, and he must be the star - or be absent or vote “present”.
The most interesting thing to me here is that there were anti-0 comments on CNN - only a tad better than MSNB0 in their worship of 0.
But, Lana, as a feminist in the most strict sense of the word - aka, women’s basic rights that were so egregiously violated in 2008, I couldn’t care less that the ’sexist’ opponent of Candidate Deeds (the democrat) will most likely win. It will serve the women of this country right since they chose to take a chance on this neophyte rather than the most qualified candidate, HRC, who happened to be a woman.
It will also serve to show 0bama and his WH that they really didn’t win anything in 2008. They bought, lied, and cheated their way to victory - and I suspect they did the same thing in VA and NC. We just don’t know yet how. I will be most disappointed if Deeds does somehow win. If I lived in VA, I would be voting for the sexist pig.
Do you think they can be taught?
And I believe there were improprieties in the VA election having to do with the Dems not wanting to count overseas ballots from the troops. Indigogirl in from VA. She might remember more.
I’m from VA and it was the vindictiveness of the 0bots going after McAuliffe that is going to hand over the governor’s keys to the GOP. Deeds should have never won the primary, he’s a joke as a candidate, and the 0bots were hell bent to keep a Hillary supporter from winning.
Was it ‘favorable impression’ or ‘job approval’? I’m not sure those numbers mean much with Obama.
Fox reported a poll last week showing a 13-point gap between ‘favorable impression’(56%) and ‘would you vote for him today’ (43%). That gap may mean some people still give him credit as the ‘First Black President.’ And more than most Presidents, he’s always going to get some style points. The ‘right track-wrong track’ numbers are still bad.
So if someone thinks the country is on the wrong track, but they still have a ‘favorable impression’ of Obama, do they think the President is irrelevant?
It looks like a large number of voters are still patronizing the President, which makes it hard to interpret his approval numbers.
figures don’t lie but liars figure. first of all you can’t take seriously the polls that give him a plus. i sure don’t. it is so easy to fudge their numbers on polls in hopes of future business.
i am a registered democrat (who voted for mccain in the GE as a protest vote against BO) and i have NEVER been called for polling data. so just who are they polling to get those high numbers?
This was the Presidential Approval Index. Today it is at -10

It’s probably the political gimmick to cut 90% of CEO pay at the bailed out banks. Of course, they have stalled on all real regulation, and taken millions for their own campaigns. How does this PR trick going to make a difference to middle-class Americans? Those CEO’s will just go to another, non-bailed out bank. This crew is all show–it’s all marketing all the time.
Actually the most important thing about the compensation plan isn’t that it establishes a ceiling on bonuses. That’s how it’s panned but that’s not what it’s really about. The centerpiece of the plan is to tie high rates of CEO compensation to long-term business performance. This is the correct approach. It’s a model that any rightly-run business should follow.
It’s all too common now for some CEOs to concern themselves soley with the short term, because they’re cleverly set up reap enormous personal gains based on what happens over a few quarters. Why should they care if their decisions run the business into the ground a few years down the road? They’re sitting pretty and gone by the time the adverse consequences of their decisions catch up with everybody else. Everyone else being regular employees, small shareholders who don’t have inside information, and participants the American economy in general.
It’s a step toward un-hijacking capitalism.
If we have any sense the next thing on the agenda should be the regulation of derivitaves trading. Brooksley Born tried to raise the alarm over 10 years ago. She was beaten down for her troubles, her agency was marginalized, and last year we saw the results. Now the Obama administration is trying again. Let’s hope something gets done this time.
And re-hijacking it by the mouth-breathing supporters of That One, who will insist that any allowed bonuses be tied to “lifting” of certain minorities to a position of equity with other workers even if they haven’t earned it.
This is called the dumbing down of business. You duds aren’t content with doing it in the schools but now want to do it in business.
I see it at work everyday. I work twice as hard to keep boneheads at bay from doing truly stupid things and all you can do is mutter “un-hijacking capitalism”.
Do you actually work, Zippy or do you spend all your welfare money on making those of us who do work and later comment here, crazy?
Let me clue you in, Goob: If people like me stop working because we’re just plain tired of supporting you and your brethren, then what will you do? Come after us? LMAO. Bring it on, kid. If you kill the spine and the brain, then the fat and appendices known as you and yours become tallow, Chester, which is another word for “fat” ready for rendering.
LMAO at another troll with big ideas, a small mind, and no means.
Here’s the political gimmick:
That “pay cut” is pro-rated, and only applies to November and December paychecks.
And it doesn’t apply to the stock options the CEO’s are given, quietly, in their golden parachutes.
Yes. It’s marketing, all the time.
I agree, Mary. It’s tinkering around the edges and calling it “reform.”
Lip service, which is what Obama is proving himself very good at.
Mary, this deceptive plan just goes to show how desperate BO is in trying to find his next straw man (wo/men).
Yep. Prorated, and affecting November forward. As much moral justice as there might be in going backward, you can’t make punative laws and regulations retroactive in our system. What the CEOs did in the past, however immoral and dishonorable, was perfectly legal. That’s because our laws and regulations were inadequate to the times.
Presumably compensation in stock options will foster more concern in CEOs about making sure the company stock retains value long after they’ve left. They’ll have to think about the long-term health of the business they’re running.
Do you actually work, Zippy? I doubt it because all you ever do is find fault with the American system each and every time you post here. It is so annoying to constantly be reminded of your nonsense through your shrill commentary. I’m sure the regulars here could provide you with a one-way ticket out of the US since you’re so put upon. As a matter of fact, I’ll chip in 5 bucks for your long boat ride to parts unknown. You can work your way there since you don’t seem to do any here.
Do us a favor and comment elsewhere.
After military service I worked as an employee for many decades, seldom missing a day or taking a vaction, but have now retired to devote myself to the salvation of the politically misguided. My insidious methodology is to make what I personally consider to be rational points. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t have an Obama bobble-head on the dashboard of my ten-year-old made-in-America truck, and figure if he ever actually does try to walk on water all there will be to show for it is a floating cigarette and bubbles. He’s got political finesse. He’s the leader we’ve currently got. I support him to the extent that I believe he tries to do things I consider right-headed and well-intentioned. I apparently annoy some people because I don’t assume he’s the anti-Christ.
No but you follow him just like the Bushies and that’s the problem, zig-zag.
Stop the blind support fest!
Yeah, right, Zippy. Like I believe anything a goose-stepping obamabot like you state.
So did Bush. That’s more of the style over substance routine, something you apparently have in
spadesabundance. You mean he’s the squatter we’ve got because he’s certainly no leader, at least not unless you’re a damn sheep being led to the abattoir.
On the contrary, you annoy most because you consistently fail to recognize what a sham he really is. This ultimately isn’t about YOU but about your goody predilection for apologizing for the emperor-less clothes-rack in the WH.
Oops:
goody = goofy.
Keep up the slayfest, Ferd!
I tend to assume personal attacks are just a way of dodging meaningful discussion, when someone’s uncomfortable with the actual points that have been raised.
I countered each of your less filling, tastes wretched comments. I dodge nothing. You, however, always resort to flights of fancy and soaring irrelevancy when propping up your little tin-horn dictator.
In addition, there will be no transparency within the unions:

he was raised to have nothing but distain for America. Look at his mentors, not one of them had any respect for this country. They were willing to live in America and take advantage of the freedoms and a higher standard of living. None made any real sacrifices for the country.
The ones who really anger me are the dumbass dems who chose him at the expense of the country. They should never be forgiven or forgotten. They have to be voted out of office and never ever have any like them in office again.
WOMEN WITH INTELLIGENCE AND EXPERIENCE,MEN WHO SUPPORT THEM AND COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS,BUBBAS,EQUALISTS AND THOSE PEOPLE RULE
I agree, Helen.
Well I certainly feel insulted. Half the time people are accusing me of being a liberal wingnut and half of the time I’m allegedly a people hating Republican who wants children to starve and people to die from lack of health care. When I’m not busy doing those things, I’m a bitter knitter, a racist, and hellbent on making sure the whole planet fries in a global warming armageddon.
You sure are busy. Don’t know how you keep up with yourself and who you are hating on this week!;)
All because you won’t drink from the Kool Aid Chalice.
and WHY aren’t you clinging to your Bible? You must be a slacker
I have to wonder what their ultimate agenda is with this strategy. Is he purposefully trying to start a civil war? It makes no sense. He got elected with a lot of good will and if he rose above this pettiness, his approval ratings would go up.
He was supposed to be a “uniter not a divider.” I knew it was a line of baloney but I’m shocked at how his true colors are showing now.
I think it is a matter of not being able to help himself. Even Axelrod has admitted that Obama is thin skinned to the nth degree. He cannot tolerate criticism of any kind and feels a compulsion to address it. I really think this is a case where even if his advisors told him it’s not the way to go, he would not listen. It goes hand in hand with NPD.
His need to make fun of and belittle others strikes me as something a teenager would do. I have wondered myself what he thinks he is accomplishing. There are many Democrats out there who voted the party line but they too would not like to see their President behaving in such a fashion. I think it is a mistake to think that anyone but his most virulent supporters would egg him on with this kind of behavior.
Also, at this horrid time in our economy when people are struggled and scared, they need reassurance from their President and they also need support, kindness, and encouragement, not divisiveness or petty comments.
It’s always so obvious: being unable to accept criticism is the first sign of a narcissist. Eventually, he will REALLY show his narcissism. Americans like humble and down-to-earth. Only the elitists, themselves narcissistic, like other narcissists.
My first thought, too. Narcissists cannot handle criticism - and they will lash out, seek revenge. Think Humana, Fox, Better Business Bureau, highly paid CEOs, etc. More and more people are seeing him for who he is (or rather, isn’t), so there will be more revenge served up.
If the country truly wakes up, I’m a little scared about how he may react.
Ani,
The man has the “Obama” logo on the basketball he shot hoops with.It is eeerily abnormal his actions on every level, symbolic and actual.
The legacy of a narcissist is they are not capable of the ideas you outline because everything is all about them.
Bill O’Reilly tonight had Sally Quinn as a guest. I was shocked at what she had to say about 0bama since she had been a ring leader in his behalf in the primary. As a Washington insider she disgusted me with the things she said about Hillary and Bill on CNN and MSNBC0. Tonight, though, when Bill asked her if any of the people she associates with (meaning liberal democrats)are saying anything about the FoxNews
saga with the WH.
Quinn said, “Yes, they are saying a lot.” She said as someone who covered Watergate, she could not understand why 0bama was doing this. It was very similar to how Nixon handled his hatred of the press. The people she talks to feel the same way.
Then That One needs a shrink and a new job. We don’t have time to babysit a petulant brat of a 5-year old. Between the dinks who voted for him and the dink-in-chief himself, we’re in deep trouble.
HillaryorBust: I just think he can’t help himself because this is his true personality and character. He’s so narcissistic, I’m sure he believes that because he went out and bought the vote, he has a mandate to behave like an a**.
He looks high to me. Has he started using again to cushion the blow of his falling approval rating?
This reminds me that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree (or Who’s your daddy?)
He and his nare-do-well *advisors* think this is high-minded strategy that most people won’t understand when in fact, he looks like the proverbial cat under the bed - the cat thinks he’s hidden, but his swishing tail is sticking out.
Well maybe he should have run on the Republican ticket. This stupid childish ridiculing Democrats in public is one of Obama’s trademark behaviors. He did this stuff all through the primaries, but the media didn’t report it.
If you look closely, the middle finger went up too.
I noticed the middle finger going up too. What really gets me is the sound of all the Obots yelling and applauding as he insults them. What a bunch of maroons.
This is funny:
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2009/10/23/obama-personally-leads-his-armies-against-fox/
Yes tek he did it all through the primaries and the media let him get away with it he is the most arrogant president that we have ever had. How anyone could have thought that he was hope and change need to have their heads examined.
Agree completely.
He literally SNEERS at Americans he looks down on.
It’s really disgusting.
Thoughts? Look at the players.
Axelrod has the belief that if he can control dollars for the military recruitment ads and other govt media spending that he can do what he did in Chicago – tell the press to be good to him and bad to his opponents or he takes his money elsewhere.
Rahm has found from experience that speed and force works in politics. He worked on the 1994 Rostenkowski campaign, trying to run over people by reminding him that his friend David Wilhelm got him a job in DC. The plan was Rosti wins the primary then looses the general to avoid prosecution for postage stamps. The hapless Irishman who put his name on the GOP ballot based on a drunken barroom bet gets elected. Blago takes him out in 96 and Rahm is born after the cinders pile up in 2002. Nothing but ashes in this guy’s past.
Obama is just downright evil. I don’t buy any of this nice guy stuff. I have seen him in action cheating his way through life and into every office he briefly held.
This gang does not think about anything except themselves. And I don’t mean collectively. Axe wants to get rich. Rahm wants to feel like the top bully on the corner and Barry just wants thumb his nose at all the rich white kids in his childhood playground on an island in the Pacific.
True WV but if your not careful you will be receiving a dead fish in the mail! Ugh what a mess…
Rahm’s ultimate goal is to be the first Jewish Speaker of the House.
Part of the Blago saga was the information that Rahm wanted him to appoint a “seat-holder” for his House position, so that after Rahm had served as Obama’s chief of staff, he could run again/return to that seat, and rise to Speaker.
He’d be exactly like Tom Delay, but on the other side of the coin.
Who are we kidding? Rahm is BO’s Cheney.
looks to me that they are trying to run the WH the same way they ran chicago, by bullying and threatening everyone who doesnt agree with them. maybe they were willing to put up with that kind of bullshit in chicago because thats what they are used to, but the rest of the country WILL NOT put up with that kind of crap. they may be tough guys in chicago, but in the rest of the country they are just two bit hoods.
Writing in today’s Wall Street Journal, Peggy Noonan, of all people takes Thee One to task for this very same speech. Her article is titled “It’s His Rubble Now And the American people want him to fix it.” Noonan also chides Obama for his phony “folksy” rhetoric:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704224004574489530713762884.html
He has never impressed me as a cool, calibrated intellectual. Show me the transcripts!
I am struck by the lack of respect for the office.
It is easy to appear you are cool and even temperred, when everyone is kissing your butt and praising you and anyone that dares criticize or even ask real questions about you is attacked by everyone else and you just pretend to be above it all. Now that people are finnally starting to say the emperor has no clothes and pointing out he is useless, his petty spitefullness is slipping thru.
Guess he didn’t get the memo that the President is supposed to represent All The People and not just those of his party. I expect him to resort to ghetto language soon…the more angry and arrogant he becomes, the lower his speech is. Y’all. Use only if you are from the South…oh, I forgot he was conceived three years after his supposed birth on the bridge at Selma. Y’all coming from him or any of his Rapper friends is vulgar.
I have videos of him talkin’ South Side Chicago dialect when talking about a sex rap video he likes. He is the urban equivalent of the “Pennsylvania Trailer Park Trash” he disses. Yo! Mister so-called President Whacha doin for me?
Yes, Martha. His rhetoric in this speech is both patronizing and peevish.
Well, yes.
This is the same presidential candidate whose rallies in the primaries were ended with the song “99 Problems, But a Bitch Ain’t One.”
Speaks volumes.
God i hate that arrogant sack of shit.
I think Obama’s arrogance is going to be his downfall. His attack on Fox news is so filled with hubris, I think he actually believes the media works for him. Half the time it sure looks that way, but they actually work for themselves. And they love nothing better then to lift someone up to celebrity status and then tear them down. Obama would be wise to remember this.
READ THIS
Hubris is a term used in modern English to indicate overweening pride, haughtiness, or arrogance, often resulting in fatal retribution or Nemesis.
In ancient Greece, hubris referred to actions which, intentionally or not, shamed and humiliated the victim, and frequently the perpetrator as well. It was most evident in the public and private actions of the powerful and rich. The word was also used to describe actions of those who challenged the gods or their laws, especially in Greek tragedy, resulting in the protagonist’s downfall.
Hubris, though not specifically defined, was a legal term and was considered a crime in classical Athens. It was also considered the greatest sin of the ancient Greek world. That was so because it was not only proof of excessive pride, but also resulted in violent acts by or to those involved. The category of acts constituting hubris for the ancient Greeks apparently broadened from the original specific reference to mutilation of a corpse, or a humiliation of a defeated foe, or irreverent “outrageous treatment” in general.
The meaning was eventually further generalized in its modern English usage to apply to any outrageous act or exhibition of pride or disregard for basic moral laws. Such an act may be referred to as an “act of hubris”, or the person committing the act may be said to be hubristic. Ate|Atë, ancient Greek for “ruin, folly, delusion,” is the action performed by the hero, usually because of his/her hubris, or great pride, that leads to his/her death or downfall.
Yes, one could argue that BO’s “tragic flaw” is hubris.
Obama insulted the American people again? Shocked, shocked I am!
Fine Carol, you don’t hate Obama.
Isn’t that so um, so um, obotish of you.
Take your toys and your crocodile tears on over to some Obamalove sites. This site will never meet your needs.
Reality? Obama? In the same post? Thanks for the laugh!
Let’s face it, Obama thinks he’s better than EVERYBODY. This is the Narcissist dilemma. If you don’t agree with him and don’t do what he tells you to do, you’re wrong, stupid, and contemptible. If you agree with him, he’ll view you as a servile, nodding sycophant (think Prime Obot), and you’re merely a servant on his deific plantation, a pathetic suck-up. He views ALL people as beneath his concern, but there is a difference in the way he treats his followers and his detractors. His detractors are enemies that need to be destroyed, his followers are his pets that are either pampered or tormented depending on his mood. Anyone with a long relationship with, or knowledge of Narcissists, will know exactly what I’m talking about.
Exactly how I remember it. And they can do it without ever APPEARING the way most people who have never really had close relations with one imagine narcissists. They can actually sometimes appear to people as nice guys who are misunderstood.
Sounds like O to me.
There IS a difference between how he treats his followers and detractors, but what’s more, it’s a very fine line. I don’t believe he is capable of real attachments to people or principles, which is why he can throw a follower under the bus so fast.
I’m curious to know if his mother’s drug use included the time she was pregnant. Children born to such parents may never develop the neural connections they need for empathy (which could explain why many later turn to crime with no remorse). Narcissists aren’t known for their empathy, but being born to a drug-addicted mother could be an additive factor.
Some say he fried his own brain using drugs., His synapses ain’t snappin.
I can’t help to think that the first comment on this story is the best.

There is no smaller package in all the world than that of a man all wrapped up in himself.
HARP, you are my hero.
Sorry……I would love to take credit for it but I read it somewhere a long time ago and it kind of stuck in my head.
Beck is right……While we are watching the fire they are slipping a bomb under the door.
Democrats Vote To Give ACORN Regulatory Authority Over Financial Institutions.
WASHINGTON - During consideration of H.R. 3126, legislation to establish a Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA), Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee voted to pass an amendment offered by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) that will make ACORN eligible to play a role in setting regulations for financial institutions.
http://republicans.financialservices.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=860&Itemid=43
Harp. You are kidding. This did not really happen, did it?
Oh. Time to call Eastan.
She will be rather upset.
All I can say is WTF!
AHHH they got around it by not naming ACORN, but the description “The Waters amendment adds to the CFPA Oversight Board 5 representatives from the fields of “consumer protection, fair lending and civil rights, representatives of depository institutions that primarily serve underserved communities, or representatives of communities that have been significantly impacted by higher-priced mortgages”
makes it that ACORN, or one of their hundreds of other companies/names will be eligable
Good grief, Harp. The craziness never ends. And this is only Year 1!
Do they mean to tell us that they are going to give tax evaders and pimp/prostitute advisors regulatory authority over financial institutions? Oh, yeah, that’s definitely the ticket. Hell, why not put them in charge of education, too. Let’s all sing the praises of That One, a slothful, shiftless, slacker who is one of this year’s newest role models along with Dunn and van Jones.
mmmmm-mmmm-mmm.
He has no loyalty to anyone, except maybe Lady MacChelle. Pride goeth before the fall, can’t wait. And to think we could have had HRC, a real President.(And yes, I do think he looks high.)
Helpless without TOTUS.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48kuCl-55f0&feature=player_embedded
Gave it 5 stars. What a dolt.
Gag!! It was all I could do to listen for the 43 seconds.
On a side note I’ve noticed one speech anomaly that drives me crazy. He never uses the word “an,” as in “an opportunity.” He always says “a”(long pause) “opportunity.” Or whatever word that starts with a vowel. Weirdly irritatiing.
I need to go lie down now.
The one I hate is the word ‘to.’ he always says ta—more of a short u sound like in mud. Very sloppy sounding. Don’t know how his handlers missed it.
That One creates fissures in the Queen’s English every time he opens his yapper. He speaks like a college sophomore and the content more resembles that of a High school freshman. Is this the best the democrats have to offer? I could understand Dubya’s problems with language-he is a dullard. That One, however, was supposed to be this fine and elegant orator.
LMAO. His dreck is frivolous and silly, consisting of substandard English, to boot.
I’m with you arky. I can’t stand the use of “a” in front of a word beginning with a vowel, and Obama is a major violator. It has a corrosive effect on the language when a prominent individual habitually fumbles it. I dread the horrific possibility that people will start to emulate Obama’s irritating and condescending linguistic mannerisms. Hopefully though, it won’t happen. I still have faith that most Americans will remain genuine in their communications and actions with others, and not ape our POS president with his phony accents and folksy affectations. Or am I just being a…….optimist.
What grates on my last nerve are the dropping of ‘g” at the end of words and the use of “y’all” by a man whose closest connection to things Southern is drinking from a Dixie cup.
For sure, Portia Elizabeth. But the really distracting thing he does, which is like nails on a chalkboard to me is his constant use of the alleged “pregnant pause” to cover his inability to think coherently and in a logical, systematic progression. His bots claim it is intentional and that represents the only instance in which they are correct–he is searching his fist-bumping mind to no avail for the best equivocation so he won’t be called on his sloppy use of the language.
Like it!
Makes my day.
He probably thinks that South Chicago is Southern enough.
How’s that transparency thing going for ya Carol???
Are you still into that ‘tingly’ feeling in your leg while the fraud is ever-going in his campaign mode??
Ozero’s problem is not that the GOP does what it is told. His problem is that they don’t do what He tells them. As far as He is concerned, that is sacrilegious, heresy even.
Obama knows that the typical Democrat is dumber than he. That is the only reason he can make inane statements to these idiots without being laughed off the stage.
The Democrats are nothing but a bunch of zombies blindly following an asshole they worship as their messiah. These losers opinions are driven by the lamestream media that fawns over the jackass. These dummies are no more opinionated than the clowns who following Jim Jones to their demise.
The people who have demonstrated opinions have been the people who have protested 0bama’s ridiculous policies. These people actually think and diagnose what Obama is doing while the Obama zombies put their two brain cells in overdrive to sit there and count the number of times Obama’s wife rotates a hula hoop.
Obama knows that the typical Democrat is dumber than he. That is the only reason he can make inane statements to these idiots without being laughed off the stage.
Now, you take that back. I used to be a democrat and I ain’t dumb.
same here and there were a lot of Republicans and independents giving him votes!
I thought when he was sworn in..the second time..lol..that he had to say he was the president of the US for the people and by the people..not just the democrats..Does this mean we can elect another president to be our prez? I am an independent…maybe we need three presidents…LOL…Then maybe we have a voice that speaks for US and not at US!! The Dem’s prez can go play basketball, the republican prez can collect corporate money and the independent prez can maybe did the job done..not to insult any republicans bc I stand with you all on this one regarding the most childish prez in the history of the USA…just a thought..an INDEPENDENT thought..IMHO!!
Interesting clip. He talks about Democrats as if he is not one. “Ya’ll are thinking for yourselves” not “We Democrats think for ourselves” and “I like that in ya” not “It is one of our strengths” or “I like that about us.”
djmm
That is such a great catch on your part. I always said he was no Democrat. And he knows he is no Democrat. That is the reason I never voted for him. He would co-opt Democrats and we would have no left…only Republicans and sycophants.
So true! I always said too that he was no Democrat. He has no affiliation except himself.
He is no more a democrat than Bush II was a republican. Both are the same… corporate shills elevated to their positions by the corporate media. We worry about socialism when what we ought to be worrying about is a corporatist fascist state… not the one coming, the one we already have.
Amen. And the Maoist bots like Dunn and Marxists like Van Jones are truly stupid if they think the bot-in-chief is one of their own. That One has his own circle of Hades in which he operates.
Dolceder said:
“We worry about socialism when what we ought to be worrying about is a corporatist fascist state… not the one coming, the one we already have.”
Yes, yes, yes.
We’re being played. All of us on either side of the political divide. We wanted change??
Hahahaha. Welcome to the 24/7 fantasy game. This is same old, same old with different buzz words. And that’s why throwing all the Dem bums out and replacing them with Republicans will make little difference.
We’re being played. By both parties.
Absolutely, Docelder!
i wonder what youthful dimwat wrote this so called “speech”. he/she would have to be as immature and arrogant as obama.
This is what I don’t understand: Larry Johnson supported Hillary and Hillary has no problem with the things that are complained of about Obama. So, Obama lite is okay. Which is the same as supporting Obama because one thinks it’s lite Socialism, therefore not…
We can see that Obama/Hillary accuse the Republicans (or anyone who disagrees) of the things they are actually doing themselves-they’re deflecting.
As a former CIA operative, Johnson doesn’t/can’t connect these dots? He couldn’t see there is no difference supporting Hillary v Obama. Well, that’s just too cute.
What is this obsession with blaming Hillary?
Perhaps it’s escaped your attention that Hillary is not the President. What she is:
(1) a loyal and patriotic American.
(2) a tireless worker who strives to do as much as she can for our country and, by extension, the world.
(3) a member of the current administration’s cabinet who will not do or say anything to discredit her boss.
(4) a Democrat who does not try to be divisive.
If only BO would espouse those strategies, we might not complain about him either.
I concur. HRC is to That One as Lindsay Graham is to Dick Cheney.
I agree on HRC. But then Hillary and Graham have been called out by both parties as not “real” standard bearers of their respective parties. Hillary is considered too hawkish [can't tell you how many times I've read this on the Leftie blogs]. And Graham is considered Republican-lite by many ultra-conservative writers.
I think we’ve entered a period when anything reasonable and not party-line driven is looked at with high suspicion by the “ultras” on either side of the political line. So, maybe that’s why Bush&Co and the Obamatrons have been and are so entrenched in their narrow ideological views.
Frankly, I do not like either party.
I’m a Hillary Clinton supporter not because I agree with her every view but because I trust her guts, her integrity and expertise. I voted for John McCain in 2008 for the same reasons.
Instead we got another corporate mouthpiece, who doesn’t seem to have any original ideas of his own. TOTUS doesn’t count.
Deja vu all over again.
Peggy Sue: I just commented on another of your comments. I think you and I are in agreement. The US has lost the middle ground to the extremists whiners from both sides. You know them–they’re the ones who feel the need to complain about everything under the sun from “my cell phone doesn’t work in this deep canyon and I’m just going to cancel my commitment” to this generation’s questioning the need to do real work for real money–”you mean I have to actually get up in the morning and go to work”?
I became an independent after in late May 2008 when HRC lost to That One, left the Democratic party after 32 years, and also voted for a Republican (McCain) for the first time since 1976 (yep, I didn’t like Carter, either but also didn’t like Reagan).
We got worse than a corporate mouthpiece, though, because at least with Reagan, and the Bushes we KNEW we were getting such. That One lied and those of us with any knowledge of historical precedence and half a brain knew it. Prime Obot, among others, was fooled and his shame is now our cross to bear as he comes here daily to beat us over the head with HIS own guilt about HIS OWN stupidity.
We’ve been marginalized by the lowest common denominator.
Ferd said:
“We’ve been marginalized by the lowest common denominator.”
Sadly true, Ferd. Btw, I wouldn’t waste much typing time on the Obamatrons. They seem to think by repeating the same nonsense, NQ will “see the light.”
Hahahaha!
I have no more affection for Far Left than I do for the Far Right apologists. Somehow the fringe has been mistaken for the center.
Not sure how that happened but I’m beyond sickened by both lines that keep dragging us down the same road with lies and continual BS.
But yes, I think you and I are politically sympatico. You’re just more colorfully vocal :0).
Thanks for the very nice way of describing my ill-temper with all things bot-ish. I do get so tired of hollering in a pickle barrel.
Ferd, Smile (ugh) is realy Markie the Hillary basher.
LMAO–
Oh, drat! I forgot about that miscreant. I thought we were only left with the left-wing squatter-bots at this point. My mistake.
Great post, Ani.
Obama’s beginning to implode…and he will lash out, just as most narcissists do when their egos are threatened.
Bay State liberals shun Barack Obama’s visit

A tourist is reflected in the window of a shop displaying shirts and pouches bearing an image President Barack Obama’s face imprinted over that of China’s late leader Mao Zedong, in the popular tourist area of Houhai in central Beijing September 21, 2009. The shop has sold thousands of products bearing the “Oba Mao” design since stocks arrived just over a month ago, the shop owner said.

I didn’t read all the posts. But did any of you see Obama rub his middle finger along side of his nose. Didn’t Obama do the same thing to Hillary and McCain?
Yep, he did the same thing and the bots all clapped and cheered. Why does he remind me of a snot nose whiney 12 year old Brat?
I’m sorry, but is he an ivy league educated man, or is he on the corner with a 40 in his hand? Why does he go to street talk whenever he wants to “impress” “his people”? Why is that OK?
I muted the sound on the video and, maybe it’s because I haven’t watched him in a long time, he looks worried and angry to me. Worried that he won’t have any successes he can put in his State of the Nation speech and angry that everyone hasn’t fallen in line behind him in support of anything he does and wants.
Carol, I don’t know any American who hasn’t been, or won’t be, effected by his bail-outs which have run up the deficient and by the healthcare plan that he failed to work for on the people’s behalf all summer, but made back-room deals with the private insurers. Within his first term, I will turn 65 and I am worried that we older citizens will receive less healthcare benefits, will have to pay higher prices for care, and may have more of our procedures denied.
You may be doing just fine but I wonder if the rest of us will find that Obama has interfered with our health, our net-income, and our happiness.
In the video, he talks about reps and dems, not about us as Americans. He only has a selfish, political interest. Hillary would have fought for me and all Americans.
these guys make our media look like the panty waists they really are

sorry off topic but couldn’t find a ready open thread

Shhhh, LadyD. We’re not suppose to remember that. Anymore than we’re suppose to notice that we didn’t take Osama out and hang him and his henchmen on a meat hooks.
Spilling blood and treasure in all the wrong places is suppose to make sense and vindicate our losses [which are larger now than after the original 9/11 attacks--brilliant].
But shhhh. You may wake up the slumbering masses.
it’s friggen insane
the
sheepingsleeping masses are USELESS (lately)perhaps IF I YELL A LITTLE LOUDER????????
I am in awe, Peggy Sue. You put into words what I thought from the very beginning but wasn’t able to find the proper words about this entire “war on terror”. We’re rather up a creek without a boat at this point.
We sorely needed/need at least someone of the caliber of FDR–he knew the enemy, braced our country for the what was to come, and damn-well did it. We beat not only Hitler, not only Mussolini, but Hirohito, too. We fought in Europe, Africa, and the East. We fought on the land, in the air, and on the high seas. We fought everywhere there was a fight to be made. We forced all enemies to surrender unconditionally. We haven’t done it since, except for Bush I and Hussein.
The current batch of Republicans with their your-kids-not-mine approach to war and the Democrats no-war-before-capitulation view are going to be our downfall. Screw both parties.
Hey Ferd, we’re definitely on the same wavelength.
My father and uncles served during WWII. They’re all dead now. But my father-in-law is still kicking mightily. He served in the South Pacific, nothing more than a kid at the time. He’s neither a Republican nor Democrat [although he greatly admired FDR's guts]. He hates both parties equally now, particularly these last nine years and has said repeatedly:
This is “not” what we fought and bled for.
He’s a wise old coot. He’d get my vote anytime :0).
Amen, Peggy. I had 6 uncles serve in WWII. My Father was too old–he served back when the cavalry was just getting off horseback at Ft. Sill. All of them are gone and I’m only left with memories. But I will continue until my own dying breath to tell of their patriotism and commitment to country. When I got out of the service in ‘79, all my living uncles met me at the airport as I was the only one of my generation to serve. I was humbled by it all and deeply, deeply honored. If it weren’t for those who made those sacrifices, we wouldn’t be commenting here today and that is the crux of the matter. I salute all of them, with an extra heart-felt salute to your Father-in-law. He rocks (and so do you).
I don’t know about anyone else but I think this country is rapidly coming to a fork in the road and one which may fully decide what sort of future our children and their children, et. al., have. This isn’t about party affiliation since, up until very recently, Republicans and Democrats have always agreed on the structural fundamentals. No, this is about what it means to be an American. I consider the regular commenters (not trolls) and writers on this blog to be patriots to the cause that is the United States of America. We all come from different backgrounds and from different locales. We have differing religions and different ways of saying things; we have different ways of making ends meet and have different words for the same thing. We raise our children in different ways and sometimes speak a somewhat different language. We do have one thing in common-we all want the best for the generation next in line, one that is represented by our children.
How we make things better (or worse) for our descendants depends entirely on those decisions we make today. Do we punt and allow our elected officials to determine that future or do we act? Do we allow our descendants to choose for themselves or have everything chosen for them? This is not some silly exercise dreamed up in some government laboratory–this is reality. We are faced with these decisions now. Frankly, I don’t want any government agency determining what is best as they are barely able to do what they are legally required to do currently. They can’t even maintain the confidentiality of records as the DOD and DOE have now lost my records three times. I’m sorry if I offend any bots of either persuasion as I have had my fill of government as caretaker–either as Daddy or Mommy.
You can count me as a liberated adult.
I totally agree!
Right on, Ferd!
I already have a Mommy and Daddy, thank you very much, Mr. President!
What is a shame is that leadership comes from the top down. President Obama sets the tone. When he disrespects groups of people, its like granting permission for everyone else to do it. Because of this, politics, discussions on the internet, and the way women are viewed in this country, have all plunged into a wild frontier where anything goes.
LOL, we never had politeness and civility in the first place, but in 30 yrs of arguing politics I have never had someone tell me to go bang a goat. It’s getting ugly out there and I place full responsibility on the President for failing to lead.
I totally agree with you. That One has set the tone and it’s a nasty one. And personal.
Here’s something to make everyone feel better. It’s phenomenal and well worth a short break to watch/listen to. Apologies if I’m behind the times and this has been posted before:

No wit and humor. Just sarcasm, insults, and that middle finger.
Does anyone remember a president who called Americans names? I can’t recall anything like this present WH occupant’s continuing condescension.
Now, I’ve experienced a first since I dislike this dem president as much as I did the last rep one.
I agree that we are on the down-slope. We were only a bright star for 250 years, or less.
“Does anyone remember a president who called Americans names?”
Nixon spoke of “the good people … who don’t protest”, meaning the anti-war protestors were not “the good people.”
Other than Nixon, you’re right. Usually, they save the insults for the opposition party, not Americans who vote for the opposition party.
And Obama’s lying again. Bush got reamed by his base on immigration. Rasmussen reports 73% of Republican voters think their party is out of touch with their values.
I am sure this video says it all, unfortunately I can’t watch it or I will blow a gasket. Stay classy there mr. compulsive campaigner! You are doing what we call
in public.
