Further, if the truth is what you’re really after, then you will admit that Hilary has a gender problem…we would just be changing the question from are enough white people willing to vote for a black person for President to will enough people be able vote for a female for President.

I’m an Independent(started out an Edwards supporter) and it amazes me that the same people who rag on Obama for supposedly playing the race card never acknowledge the real gender issue a Clinton nomination would bring.

Only the Democrats would decide to run a black guy or woman in a time that is the most favorable for them politically. That is the real mistake, not anything Obama or Clinton says or does.

That being said, I don’t know how many special ops you know, so your comment seems pretty sweeping. I don’t like sweeping comments generally speaking (sweeping comment in action here) because they are often based in singularities or anecdotal references.

what I know about bushido as teakwoodlite pointed to, dying for a cause is rather stupid. if I must then I must, but most people of the people I’ve ever known or been exposed to who have the “trained to die” mindset I believe you are referring to, are rather dense and selfish. They live in a glory in their own head alone.

I am with LJ on this, that training is about swift effective response. in my training I sought to be the most effective defensive fighter I could be. my goal was to preserve life and I was given specific goals by my oath to my training under my sifu.

There are many good stories about honorable fighters in our tradition and none of them involves being trained to die in the sense you mean it. The awareness of one’s own death before any combat is essential to understand the need to preserve life.

The issue actually was the Black Liberation Theology and the Anti-Americanism. If race were an issue, it was on their side.

Maybe being one of those pasty white people I don’t understand because it isn’t something I’ve had to live with. Just like many men simply are unable to understand what many women see as “sexist”. Maybe you have to have lived it to recognize it.

I used to read Fairy Tales to my kids and then to my Grand-kids. My sons found them boring and old fashioned and my Granddaughters thought they were about “Gay People”. So excuse me if I’m confused all to hell.

Conflicted, not so much. I know when something smells to high heaven it’s time to put it in the trash. That’s the way I feel about all those that call racist every time they run into someone that disagrees with them. Strikes me as not being very progressive either. But that’s a rant for another day.

I cannot vote for this man just based on his character and judgement. His Black Liberation theology philosophy of the church’s and Reverend Wright’s is what really scares me and I’m sorry but I have to believe that is his philosophy due to the length he decided to stay there.
