So what’s your point? It’s o.k. to mess with the lives of all those ladies (usually) who work hard to verify voters? That’s an honorable way to treat the election process as far as you’re concerned? And why in the heck shouldn’t O be involved with ACORN if they do such “noble” work? You have the mind of a frat boy. Why not answer the story by addressing the issue. It’s still clear that if ACORN turns in valid voter registrations, they’ve been targeted as probably O voters. It’s still possible that O’s campaign was breaking some voting laws. And argue agains what Morris says about O’s turning over American control of the banking system to Europe. If that’s what he’s doing and you think it’s o.k., then how do you justify not letting Americans have a say about it?

In your mind, if you really have one that is not programmed, you know everything and we know nothing. And that dear dbb is hubris, a fatal flaw on your part according to most playwrights.

That was an excellent point that makes the NY Times’ choices more damaging. NY Times, or any other paper, by withholding articles or slanting coverage is tainting research for future histories. Video and aural media might have more detail and would be in the real voices of interviewers but often lack the supposed “fact checks” that papers supposedly. Then video and aural media often are not searchable due to lack of transcripts.

There isn’t a shred of evidence that ACORN even attempted, let alone succeeded, in producing one fraudulent vote in last November’s general election or any other. Nobody named Donald Duck or Elmer Fudd showed up at the polls and if some 5’6″ guy named LeBron James did, its because he really had the same name as the basketball star. This Rock the Facts is truly pathetic as a cursory glance at their website reveals; I don’t know who brainwashes these kids up to making these right-wing extremist youtube rants denying global warming, letting untrammeled oil drilling rip everywhere, etc., but it is truly sick making. And don’t get me started on Dick “Toesucker” Morris.

I always had a very high respect for Congressman Conyers. It saddens me to no end to see someone that did so much good, now stand against the voting rights protection of others.

I saw him on May 31st at the DC DNC RBC meeting and I just sighed as I learned why he was there. Before that, Conyers to me was a giant and a person I viewed through a historic prism.

Excellent point, Diana.

Just so you know (and everyone else, too, of course), once I get back from vacation, the issue of voter fraud, and election fraud in general, will be dealt with in a comprehensive manner (film, live chat, etc.). That is to say, I hear you, I agree with you, and we must fight for this critical right.

And this ACORN hearing – wow – what does it say abt us as a nation that our leaders try to kill this kind of investigation??? It is reprehensible what Conyers has tried to do.

Students wanting to read first-time reports of historical events may often have only the Times microfiche files in their libraries for a source. Now I might feel hesitation about using them as a source for that kind of historical research.

Then use truly reputable sources on the Internet. There are many out there that are probably better sources for information than that rag.
