Apart from all the arguments listed why Turkey must not joint the EU, the main point is that Turkey is not a European country and the EU is not a club where you can join provided that your application is endorsed by powerful friends. Turks are not European, neither geographically nor culturally.

While the Clinton and Bush administrations might have supported Turkey’s application to membership because it serves the interest of the US to be in good terms with Turkey, neither Clinton nor Bush has expressed it in such an insistent and arrogant manner…!

Okay – let’s see if I get this right. Clinton and Bush administrations said the EU should accept Turkey for membership. No problem.
Now, Obama has the audacity to say he thinks the EU should admit Turkey. And now its how dare he tell the EU what to do. What is the difference? Could it be because he is ‘shhhh a closet muslim’ according to larrys’ readers? and there must be a sinister reason for his saying this?

Senator he condemned Turkey’s Genocide of 2 million Armenians after the First War and promised to bring some sense to the Turks for their piggish denial of this historical fact. I have some protien memory jarred loose from this Mary. Did not BO not vote for the resolution?

I understand that I’m a knuckle dragging Republican, and my vote for McCain was a waste, but if our President, or one of his minions, can please explain this logic to me, I’d be grateful:

How does he say that Americans should butt out of Europe’s affairs, and then tell Europe that they should admit Turkey? This is the same sort of logic that he displayed in his reaction/response to the NK missile launch. Amazing.
