Alright Obamatrons. And you too Obamedia. Now that we have the tax returns of Hillary Clinton and and Barack Obama in hand there is no doubt who cares more for ministering to the needs of the poor and sick in this world. Chalk a big one up for Hillary.

$10,256,741 donated by Hillary and Bill Clinton
$148,394 donated by Barack and Michelle Obama

Anyone can talk a good game. And boy can Barack talk. But talk is cheap. Or, a more colorful expression: money talks and bullshit walks.

Do the math for yourself. Bill and Hillary gave almost 10% of their income to charity. Barack “the Community Organizer for the Poor” and his wife donated less than 1%. This is another stark difference between the character and substance of Barack and Hillary. Hillary talks and does. Barack just talks and barely does.

Donna Brazile, who receives toxic ranting emails similar to the kind of trash that gets posted here, wrote back to one emailer:

“Do you know how many undeclared supers are now just turned off by people like you? Do you understand you’re hurting her and not promoting Hillary? Perhaps that explains why a candidate like Obama has raised $40 million in one month. You don’t have to e-mail me again.”

I don’t think Larry Johnson and the rest of you realize just how much you turn people away from Hillary. The art of persuasion doesn’t typically include insults, browbeating and haranguing.

I am not surprised by any of this. The Clintons have always been engaged in philanthropy, while the Obamas are the recipients of philanthropy. And Michelle needs her housekeepers, gardeners, fashion designers, piano teachers and camp counselors. She also needed the Rezko mansion she could not afford. And yes, she needed the mink coat discussed in the New Yorker profile of Michelle.

The Clintons actually care about people, while the Obamas believe people should care for them.

I wondered. I figured soemthing like that was going on. The other night I was on a different site reading and posting and I saw that someone had mentioned something negative about Clinton. Another Clinton smear – something about being fired from some job. I swear within 15 minutes the very same item showed up 2 more times on a different thread but same site. And the source/link for all 3 of the posts was different, but the article was exactly the same, word for word.

I was thinking that could be the reason for MyDD banning linfar and other Clinton supporters there.
I also noticed that very big picture of Obama on the site, with ad for Chris Mathews. Advertising money could equal pressure and censorship.
This bribe – pressure money is the only thing that makes sense to me to explain total personality change of so many, such as Olbermann, Maddow and other Air America people, even Kos, explaining their total intransigence, nastiness, and aggressiveness, their lack of nuance and flexibility. These are not just Obama supporters, they are cultists. They were not like this before this campaign; hence the surreal quality so many of us have written about.
Money would explain it all. But I would have thought Kos would expect more than $25,000 to sell out that way – and also to destroy his web site.

Gee… this is basically what happened at my district convention (SD17) in Texas too. We had several 100 folks there and not several thousand, as in SD 13, but same flim-flam occured and objections have been sent via proper procedures. The whole caucus system is flawed this way as it is so very easy to cheat… for *those* so inclined to do so… It was/is maddening.

Has anyone ever noticed that Donna Brazile has one canned answer and that is “do you know how much you are turning people away from Hillary? Do you know you are only hurting her?”

It is her one and only response…and just like George W. Bush with the tag line “faulty math” she brings it out as often as she can since she cannot argue with the fact that irrespective of what all parties agreed to back in the fall, the situation has changed and therefore the rules governing a completely unforeseen development, must change as well. Otherwise, we are no better than our Republican counterparts who start down a course and refuse to veer from it regardless of how the situation has changed or how ineffective their strategy has become.

I have no doubt that Ms. Brazile has received some pretty heated emails. But, I must say that nothing I have written here or that I have seen posted here by regulars to this blog has been verbally abusive or sexist or racist or misogynistic. When so-called “progressive” blogs prevent the free discourse of alternate point of views, provided that they are factual and not threatening or abusive, then they are no better than propaganda tools. You can come here and again regurgitate your canned response without being called the kind of names Senator Clinton is called.

I have never seen you, Ms. Brazile referenced on this website the way Senator Clinton has been referenced on Dkos or the Huffington Post. Ms. Brazile what is your response to the fact that on the night of Senator Obama’s win in Iowa, the song playing as he took the stage was Jay-Z’s song “I have alot of problems but a bitch ain’t one? How appropriate was that. Don’t you know that is only turning off people to Obama?

No I have not. I don’t think I will being that she has set her mind and there is absolutely no way to get her to see reason. This is what cost Al Gore the election in 2000. She told him, keep your distance from Clinton, it will only hurt you. Yeah, keep your distance from a soon-to-be ex-president who was impeached by the House, has a 70% approval rating and that a majority of American’s say that they would re-elect to a 3rd term in office if they could.

Ms. Brazile refuses to take stock of the part she played in the debacle of 2000. Had Al Gore carried his home state of Tennessee and Clinton’s home state of Arkansas, the hanging chad fiasco of Florida would have done nothing to take a win away from Gore. That is why I do not care what Ms. Brazile thinks. I would only care if she had a record of winning anything for anyone.

The email I sent to Brazile was not offensive. I merely pointed out the irony that an AA was causing the disenfranchisement of MI & FL. Something many here have pointed out.

Her response:

“Thanks for the joyful email. Like most of the other pro Clinton emails, I have now put them in a special folder called ‘tales from the gutter.”

Stay positive and remember if she wins, you will need Obama supporters and donors. So please stop throwing stones. Give her the support now and stop sending frivolous emails.”

I used to answer the emails and respond and write letters for the president of a non profit organization. In the course of doing such a job, you are going to get more than your fair share of unpleasant emails. I would never respond to an email like that. if I had, I would have been fired. You always take the high road. Not that I need reaffirmation of this after 2000 and Gore’s loss, but Donna’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

For me, that response exemplifies why there is so much anger in the Party right now. It’s filled with thoughtless, unmindful, tactless, mean-spirited, self-serving, gutless, unprofessional people like Brazile. If ever there was a time for Party leadership to come forth with a concilliatory tone. Certainly, that’s what’s needed here. But no. They’d rather give attitude and act like Obama won’t need Hillary supporters as well.

I thought about it all day and I decided that there’s a stronger possibility that Hillary could win without Obama’s supporters, than he could without hers. If Hillary gets the majority of latino voters, the working class voters that she’s getting now, women, Independents sick of Repubs, she could win. I wonder if the AA community really wants a democratic candidate to win without them?

But here Brazile is, a Party official responding in this fashion when all she had to do was push the ‘Delete’ button if she didn’t like what I said.

What a joke and how nice not to ever have to take her seriously again. It’s going to be a pelasure watching the amount of people Obama will be taking down with him in this election debacle.

I completely agree with you at how shocking it is that she’d respond in such a personal (and snarky) fashion. Does she not realize that she is supposed to be a profressional? Or that she’s seen as a rep for the Party?

I think she’s frightfully thin-skinned. Reading your account of her response, and what I’m sure you wrote, I have no doubt that she’s being a drama queen about the emails — there is NO way in hell that any Clinton supporter emails could rival the raw and vile anger that permeates the Obamcrats communications that have driven most of us away from progressive blogs recently.

Thank you for posting this information! Obama’s paulty charitable giving has been the RAMPANT whisper campaign circulating the Midwest for weeks, ever since Obama released his returns. Evangelical conservatives are using this as an argument that he’s “not really a Christian” with such a low percentage of his income going to the church. In addition, Obama’s contributions increased only AFTER he started contemplating a Presidential bid. The percentage in earlier years was MUCH lower, as I recall.

Forget Billary, the new nickname for Hill Bill is Clinton Inc. $109 million in less then 8 years from speeches to donors and ghost written books… What a far cry from when they were leaving the White House, robbing furniture as they went and offering pardons for cash. Read the NY Times this morning. The 10 percent figure Larry is so fond of pointing out is interesting. Almost all of the charitable giving by the Clintons has been to their Foundation. And most of the donations have come since Hill’s declaration for the presidency, and most of the funds had not yet been paid out to charitable causes. Some charity? Also look at the prime benefactors of Clinton Inc. Mr Buckle and Mr Gupta to name a few who have shared their vast rewards very generously with Clinton Inc for all the valuable services rendered on their behalf. If anyone had any doubts as to where Clinton Inc’s loyalties lie, they are clearly with the almighty billion dollar cash generators, and not with the average joe. This ought to play well in the steel towns of PA. Say what you want about Obambi, but he’s out raising money, more then her, from small donors ($96 per head).

Face it, Clinton Inc’s political ambitions this year are finished… Its over. This should have a fair impact on Clinton Inc’s finances in the years to come, at least until Chelsea gets her political feet wet and takes on the electability role within Clinton Inc.

The Clinton tax returns don’t even show the vast amounts of money they have both raised for various charities over the years, that don’t show up in their tax returns.

I’ll try to see what I can find out about that and write it up, but it may be difficult, since the Clintons don’t advertise their good works.

Of course, Bill has raised many millions, if not billions, through his foundation, but one of the most telling ones is the money that Hillary raised on behalf of one of David Axelrod’s children. You wrote about it here.

I have an acquaintance who sent me an e-mail. He had set up a web page and he was trying to raise a few hundred dollars for Obama. That is the difference between Obama and HC. He relied on millions of small donations and a 50 state strategy. She thought she could get by on big donations and running only in big states, ignoreing the “fly over” states — a bad strategy that has NOT worked and, further, would bode ill for her in the fall if she somehow Shanghais the nomination.

Comparing Coe to Obama’s inflammatory pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barbara Ehrenreich wrote at HuffingtonPost.com, “When it comes to unsavory religious affiliations, she’s a lot more vulnerable than Obama.”

But the story may not be so simple. Indeed, as Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign confirmed yesterday, he has also attended Coe’s prayer meetings.
