I agree with your assessment of Rep. Ryan.
I really like his style and substance, and I also like Rep. Hersling from Texas.
They are both intelligent, forthright, and handsome as well!

I read this and was laughing to tears. But then I realized how close to the truth it is.

There is a dingy in the middle of the ocean with several "pirates" and one hostage who are holding off the entire U.S. Navy from any action. They are threatening that if we bring in more military backup they will bring in more pirates. They are now saying that if we attack them they will kill the hostage.

This is turning out to be a metaphor for the feckless command capabilities of Obama.

Why can't a group of Navy Seals swim up underneath this dingy surprise and kill these pirates and end this thing?

This is definately one they can't blame on Bush.

Some Chicago residents performed similar "public works" on a smaller scale this week. Tired of getting the run-around from the city and watching city dollars go toward repaving and repairing roads to be traveled on by Olympics Officials visiting the city this past week, residents of one south side neighborhood bought their own supplies and materials and fixed the numerous pot holes in their own neighborhood. One of the residents had an old hand-pushed/watr filled roller in his garage for the past 30 years, and this tool was finally put to good use in tamping down the asphault patches. City officials appeared before the cameras to condemn the good citizens, saying tht their actions were dangerous (hardly, as with all the pot holes, there were few cars using the streets that could endanger the neighborhood workers) and probably illegal. The city also said that the citizens could not possibly have access to the "specially formulated" asphault products used by the city (marshmellow fluff ?), and that the repairs done by the residents would probably not last very long. It's more likely that the city was worried that the repairs will embarassingly last longer than if they had been done by City crews.

Great post.

Rep Ryan's plan sounds pretty good, with one or two tweeks.

But France, along with the other countries are having a problem with where to store their waste. Many other countries are stopping their Nuclear Energy programs. Currently cost outweighs benefit.

Senator McCain, a proponent, is touring a new facility in Japan, Nuclear Reprocessing Plant and tweeted "why can't we do this". I pointed out, probably because we wouldn't have agreed to send back the waste to the countries who sent us the refuse to preprocess....and we still have the issue for our country, where do you put the waste?

That is the single biggest problem.

Then there are others that worry about the plutonim, left over from reprocessing, that can be stolen and used for weapons.

Did they ever find those rods that went missing in Vermont when they finally did a count?

Maybe being downstream from LANL makes folks more aware of the problems.

Maybe this will empty the koolaide from some Chicago voters. Chicago deep dish pizza has been "dished" by the Obag? Missouri pizza chosen over Chicago deep dish? Jeez, Obama just has no taste. I can understand choosing a New York thin crust in a pinch. But if you're blowing the taxpayers last dime, there's just no getting around
this lack of judgement.

An "arrogant" group in his excellency's "home state" doing what neither the federal or local governments can do -- GETTING SOMETHING DONE!!!!!

Their livelihood was being threatened, and they were tired of waiting for government help, so business owners and residents on Hawaii's Kauai island pulled together and completed a $4 million repair job to a state park -- for free.

How is it the foreign media knows so much more about our Resident that we do? I guess Pappa John's isn't good enough for the big fraud ...

Obamas fly in chef 860 miles... just to make pizza

When you're the president of the United States, only the best pizza will do - even if that means flying a chef 860 miles.

Chris Sommers, 33, jetted into Washington from St Louis, Missouri, on Thursday with a suitcase of dough, cheese and pans to to prepare food for the Obamas and their staff.

He had apparently been handpicked after the President had tasted his pizzas on the campaign trail last autumn.

'It's surreal, it's a huge honour,' said Mr Sommers, who owns Pi restaurant in St Louis.

'It will be a casual lunch and hopefully we'll have a chance to say hello to the president.'

Mr Somers was accompanied by this business parnter Ryan Mangilardo who will help prepare the dinner for 140 this evening.

It will feature his signature dishes - ten deep dish and ten thin crust creations.

He is also planning a pizza especially for the president - the Hyde Park topped with chicken and hot sauce.

cripes, don't scare me like that....I thought Obama really made that statement. Even though it's sarcasm it's entirely possible he would say something like this. I'm guessing his crew is thinking of what he can say that will show the world that Obama can heal the piracy world too.

I don't agree w Rush Limbaugh on everything, but it shows the mentality of Huffpoop to say the so called Republican is a patriot who called Limbaugh a Nazi. Those talk show hosts frequently get callers saying they are Republicans and they are Obot trolls.

Thanks for bringing these stories to our attention, Susan. I would like to add our attitude toward pirates hasn't always been so biased. Remember Jean Lafitte?

There is a problem with reactors since they do produce a lot of waste, but France and Japan are working to develop fusion reactors which do not leave behind waste as harmful.
