Late Night Thread for Cat Burglars

Please feel free to post photos of your critters in the comments below!

My cats steal my dental floss and, if by chance I leave a sock on the floor in the bathroom, into the litter box it goes. Sigh.

My cat has taught me to shut the drawer in the bathroom — all the way in.

Otherwise anything he can paw out of the drawer goes in his litter box.

My other cat would run off with my watch — so I have to shut the watch in a drawer when I’m not wearing it.

Cats are so much fun — really!!!

I watched this video today on CNN and had a good laugh especially being owned by two old cats.

    Susan…here we go…

Boston.com just released this story about the White House dog a gift from Ted Kennedy.

What happened to “we want a shelter dog”????
I guess Robert Gibbs will spin it on Monday that the dog doesn’t bow.

Yes, playing hockey with small shiny objects is a favorite activity of many cats including mine!

Cali was cute. She has the look of mischief in her eyes.

Do you get the feeling he really doesn’t want a dog? I wonder if he has ever had a pet. That is a strange idea for a lot of us who have been around animals all our lives.

I can’t seem to post pics of our pets, but I can write about them. Four cats and two parrots. Three of the cats were strays we adopted three years ago. They are :Bella (mama), Fuzzy and Tiger. They aren’t handsome animals, but they have enriched our lives. The forth one is Scooter, a Siamese given to us after the death of our beautiful Woodie. Our daughter calls her “the cat from hell”. She is a feline terrorist, constantly attacking the other three. Napoleon is a redheaded amazon who has been my friend and “loudest” critic for twenty five years. He tells us to “shut up” often, but always says, “I love you baby” when I cover him at night. Cesar is a sun conure we have had for going on ten years. He’s beautiful, but not very bright. Napoleon is a legal immigrant given to me by a friend when I lived in South America and we have traveled many roads together. When I moved back home, he had to stay in quarantine for three months. He is on the endangered species list now, but wasn’t when he was given to me. Most parrots have a long life expectancy (85-100 years) so he will probably outlive us and then he will go to a preserve. We are so grateful for each one of these wonderful critters.

    I just found this one.

Obama half-brother ‘linked to UK sex attack’
BARACK OBAMA’s half-brother has been refused entry to Britain after reportedly being accused of an attempted sex attack on a 13-year-old girl on his last visit.

I have 4 cats. 4 dogs. But, only 2 (they adopted us)of the cats in reality are ours. The other two cats just started hanging around and then busted in the screen on my bathroom window one day while we were gone to get in. I made my husband leave it out so when they came I could just open it and they could jump in and eat with the other two. Now they come here to eat and leave again. They want nothing else to do with us. A cat restaurant.

Venus, the haughty blue-front Amazon who rules my roost, still hasn’t agreed to have her close-up so here’s a great clip of Snowball, the Dancing Cockatoo.

This bird has a future as a world-class drummer.

When my female Siamese cat was young, she had had enough of my trimming her claws and I caught her jumping down from the bathroom counter with the pet scissors in her mouth prepared to bury them somewhere, I guess.

Her brother sits at the table beside the computer and waits or stares at me until I either give him some attention, or he decides to move on to some other past time, like biting or chasing his sister. (He’s decided to move on to the sun room.)

“Bo” is the first dog for the Obama parents as well as their daughters. I can’t imagine that absence in my life as I grew up with dogs and cats.

  • http://donnadarko.wordpress.com donna darko

I raised her that way! We had adventures together.

  • Karma

    LOL!!!

Snowball has better dance moves than most people…that is too funny!

    Thank for sharing…LOL…still giggling.

My husband came over to see what I was laughing at and watched it too. Which is rare.

My cat Molly used to embezzle from me. She only took small things, so I thought I’d just misplaced them. Then one day I had to move my chest of drawers. Hidden underneath I found an earring, a lipstick, two buttons, a ballpoint pen and my mascara. And she didn’t even wear make-up.

  • elise

    What a wonderful bird!

  • elise

Arran, our Siamese loves to sleep on our computers. We have to close the lap tops when they’re not in use. Portia was the first Siamese we had and she lived eighteen years. They are great cats.

I’m trying to respond to you but my posts won’t take, as usual.

    grrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • LesleeE

Thank you Susan and everyone for your stories. Lovely kitty, looks like my littlest guy and just as mischievous. Black and white cats are gorgeous and I’ve never met one that wasn’t sweet tempered.
