Forgive me if this is too vulgar, but bowing/kneeling behavior has the same meaning in the private dynamics between gay men. Bowing signals the exact opposite of “be gentle with me.” It means “dog me, thug me out, dominate me.” The ‘bottom’ uses it to elicit a ‘biological’ response. And it’s never misunderstood — it’s an invitation to release your aggression.

It also has a biological effect on surrounding men: They want the same treatment. It not just about what it signals to the Saudis. What happens in Putin’s bloodstream when he sees Obama bow before the Saudi King? Is that a snarl?

You were too kind to P.V. I mean it. I had a hard time as I couldn’t decide whether to laugh at the idiocy of his comments or really get UPSET because they brought back too many memories of sitting through totally useless classes such as the one he teaches.

As for O’s deference to Islam, I don’t see it any more than I see his “praising Jesus” at the “God damn America” church in Chicago or the church across the street this Easter or his holding a Seder dinner at the WH. He’s playing at religion and doesn’t have a real religious bone in his body. Next he’ll somehow be a Hindu, then a Native American in a sweat lodge, then a Rosicrucian, then a Wiccan, etc. I do believe he does think he is the Messiah coming to unite the world in worship.

Just because you did not get actual experience witnessing the fraud his campaign inflicted on those of us who participated in the primary, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
