In the years after I left, Obama taught Equal Protection. That course was formerly taught by David Strauss, a tenured "name" professor (such as "The G.G. Lemonjuice Professor of Law"). I think Elena Kagan, who is now dean of Harvard Law, also taught the same class. Do you see my point? Can you grasp the importance of a course on Equal Protection, a bedrock element of constitutional law that relates to discrimination of all kinds? Anyone who knows ANYTHING about law schools in general, and the U. Chicago in particular, knows that a Senior Lecturer positions IS a professor position. Is it tenure track?
