Thanks for clearing this up. I am, by most accounts, now a senior citizen. I don’t know how I got this far while being still very clueless. I had not idea what the tea-bagging jokes were about.

Obama has spread this pervasive stench of cruelty all over America. You can smell it. Neighbors hating neighbors, family rifts, broken and destroyed friendships, etc. It’s foul and vile. The Palin bashing, the women who accused her of not giving birth to her baby, the Hillary and Bill bashing, the absolutely DESPICABLE comments that come from shitstains like Olbermann, Matthews, ManCow, etc. It goes on and on and on. We’ve become a nation of hatred. Very sad. These jizzbrains can’t get out of Congress and the White House soon enough. I’ve never seen America so full of filth.

Thank you Larry, for pointing out that the protests are called “tea parties” and not “tea-bagger” parties. The left’s reaction to these parties is exactly why I no longer consider myself a “leftie.” This laughing and using a gay smear at the protesters by the left is exactly the same type of treatment they gave Hillary during the primary. This treatment is not stopping the protests, it is in fact only making the tea party protesters dig in their heels more.

The left is trying to say that the tea party people are protesting current taxes only-and that they haven’t been raised yet, so what are they protesting? Well, they are protesting the taxation that is coming with all of this spending.

Rachel Maddow flat out lied the other night about the 95% tax cut. Saying we already had it, when we don’t. She was referring to the stimulus. Obama wants to cut our taxes, but it won’t last. He will have to raise them at some point. As in 2011. That is what people are protesting.

I do find myself wondering where this degree of conservative outrage was during any of the past 3 republican administrations, but I don’t use that out as justification for the current budget.

I’m looking at the Obama budget as a necessary evil, resulting from the dire state of the economy and a recognition of what would likely happen if we chose this moment to drastically curtail federal spending.

There were earlier times when that might have been done while the economy was strong. No one who talked the fiscal responsibility talk took advantage of what has now become a lost opportunity.

Maybe, if the economy turns around, the chance will come again. No one has convinced me that now is such a moment, however. I’m not hearing many good arguments as to why this would be.

That’s right, only people that Obama wants on his cabinet can get away with not paying taxes for years.

He can send more troops overseas and say he’s leaving troops in Iraq without a peep from the anti-war movement.

Obama can spend trillions in taxpayer monies without one protest from so-called progressives/liberals. The same folks that sent out petitions when GWB did it a few months ago. Oh, but that was suddenly okay too cuz Obama agreed with Bush.

There is no post hoc fallacy in my post. I referenced the high correlation between pre-election polls and the outcome on November 4. Nor did I appeal to false authority: I referred generally to national pre-election polls, most of which performed a sound job of predicting the outcome.

Demi, I was still watching MSNBC and CNN when Larry Craig was arrested and I remember all the jokes at his expense from Olbermann and Mathews. I was still watching those channels when they ignored the truth about John Edwards. I felt pity for Craig. He is a man still struggling with his sexual identity. I feel contempt for John Edwards. His choices were known before his endorsement of Obama, MSNBC and CNN covered for him.
