President Obama’s Surrender America Tours

(bumped up from Sunday afternoon)

There was a time when U.S. Presidents would visit countries with unsavory leaders–e.g., the Shah of Iran, Somoza of Nicaragua, Manuel Noriega–and folks with a moral compass would howl, correctly so, that putting the smiling mug of our President alongside a leader guilty of human rights abuses and political oppression signaled tacit approval of that leader. Well, what the hell do you call it when Barack bows to the likes of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah and goes ghetto-hand shake with Hugo Chavez?

I call it surrendering the high ground. Susan’s recent pieces on Obama’s shameful behavior in representing the United States are spot on. It is astonishing that Obama would endure a lecture from the likes of Daniel Ortega. What is it about radical leftists who can excuse the political abuses of people like Chavez and Ortega while condemning similar behavior by rightwing folks?

How about this as a concept, let’s condemn the abuses regardless of the political outlook of those who carry them out?

I am troubled by Hillary Clinton’s silence on these matters. She is in a tough position and is loyally serving the Obama Administration. But how long can we as a country endure this kind of reprehensible kow towing by a man who is supposed to embody America. If Obama persists in remaining silent while thugs like Chavez shit on America then he will replace France as the embodiment of acting like a surrender monkey. Placating tyrants is not a policy that promotes peace. Not a happy development in my view.

    Larry said:

“How about this as a concept, let’s condemn the abuses regardless of the political outlook of those who carry them out?”

Now that would be truly revolutionary! Spot on.

    Remember:

Khrushchev’s aide, after the first day, said the American president seemed “very inexperienced, even immature.” Khrushchev agreed, noting that the youthful Kennedy was “too intelligent and too weak.” The Soviet leader left Vienna elated — and with a very low opinion of the leader of the free world.

A little more than two months later, Khrushchev gave the go-ahead to begin erecting what would become the Berlin Wall.

I can’t see why he wants to reach out to Venezuela. I don’t like the remarks about the Central American leaders pressuring Obama on “immigration reform”–i. e., let more hispanics into our country. According to the news this morning, the presence of millions of illegal hispanics in every part of our country has enabled the Mexican drug cartels to get strongholds all over the country.

    To Larry Johnson

You did it previously by giving Obama praise when military reports are now showing that Obama hindered the captain’s rescue for 36 hours when it could have been done in 4 hours and the seals could have taken the pirates out.

This is why truth is important. Obots are using you to further their Usurper’s message and you feel for the kool-aid.

Trojan Horse (greek army) beseeched Troy.

No wonder hollywood have made movies about Hitler. They are sending Americans a message. We have a Trojan Horse among us.

    Great Post!!!!!!!!
I am sick and tired of this “irrelevant” and apologetic ideologue!
He is inexperienced, he is a weakling and he is a loser and portrays this country in his image…
We are finding our ground, and we will stand our ground..2010 is just ahead…and Taitz and Kreeps are still working hard..something’s gotta give!

0zero strikes me as someone who will only attack those weaker than himself.

We still don’t know who is really calling the shots — 0zero is no deep thinker, that’s why he needs a teleprompter.

Getting up and walking out is a valid response — but then he’d feel like he’s out of the spot light.

Attention is everything to 0zero — even if the attention is NEGATIVE.

Let’s face it, Obama wasn’t raised as an American. He spent his early formative years in Indonesia. Then his mother and Obama associated with socialists and terrorists, Bill Ayers, etc. Obama feels comfortable with socialists and radicals. However, I do believe that Obama is not a true socialist, but a fascist, because he fronts for world bankers. But it is like old times to be around people he feels comfortable with, Saudis, Chavez, Castro. Obama does not represent America first. He wants to be a world socialist or fascist ruler; that is why he respects absolute rulers and monarchs. Socialism or fascism is OK with him as long as he and his minnions are the absolute rulers.

Hillary’s in a tough spot. If she dares to criticize “The One,” she’ll be shut out. If there’s one thing that narcissists like Obama cannot bear, it’s criticism of ANY kind.

Let’s just hope that she is employing all of her cleverness behind the scenes to influence policy and behavior.

Here’s one heartening thing I heard about her: In the debate about what kind of policy to carry out in Afghanistan, she was on the side of General Petraeus and Richard Holbrooke in arguing for more “nation-building” efforts like building schools, roads, etc. But Obama sided with the Joe Biden argument to limit involvement to military action. Big mistake, imho. But Hillary’s on record — and in very good company — as having the correct position.

I also like how much she personalizes, and brings to life, the work of the State Dept. by helping individual Americans stuck in terrible circumstances. Like Miss North Dakota.

It must have been hard for her to sit behind Obama as he gave Chavez such a warm response for the gift of that book which was intended to insult and demean Obama. I just KNOW that she would not have grinned like that. She might have shaken his hand — maybe — but she knows that one is not obliged to receive an insult with such a huge smile. Good lord.

I simply do not understand the “surprises” about Hillary. Her silence? This woman was supposedly savaged in the name of misogyny. Her response? “Hell yes I’ll join the man that savaged me! When do I start?!” As long as she sees anything at all that may benefit her, she will accept ANY “savaging” necessary. She is a naked opportunist, and nothing more (see: husband, Bill, for more on this brave, proud, victim)

Having political heroes, while sad, is nothing new. Defending them when they are “wronged” by a misogynistic, anti-American POS like Obama, is logically defensible, given the hero-worshippers mind-set. But watching your hero go to work for the very same misogynist who savaged her, after the worshippers defended her “honor”, and not saying “enough’s enough with this shameless woman” is sad…

  • http://NoQuarterUSA.net Larry Johnson

You are so full of shit. I will call out Obama on the bad and give him credit for the good. I left you a challenge before that, understandably, you ran away from. Obama hindered nothing on the part of the SEALs.

  • Ferd Berfle

I call it surrendering the high ground. Susan’s recent pieces on Obama’s shameful behavior in representing the United States are spot on. It is astonishing that Obama would endure a lecture from the likes of Daniel Ortega. Larry, since you say I am full of shit. You take it as well. Read this post….

Don’t turn into a bitter liberal or Obot who can’t take criticism. You are fair no doubt. But, Obama lied and you fell for him being a leader who acted accordingly when the truth is (corroborated by the military) that he did nothing of the sort.

I am glad you are reading the post. But, you of all people, should respect someone asserting an opinion that is different than yours. Even if it DEFLATES your freakin ego. It is called Free Speech MTf.

  • Ferd Berfle

Let’s just hope that she is employing all of her cleverness behind the scenes to influence policy and behavior.

I’m sure that is just what she is doing, Susan. She is one of the few adults (Gates being the other) in his cabinet and I feel better just having her there. While it may not be good for her political future, it is best for our country, and that is where the rubber meets the road. She has a lot of guts and if she pulls this off, I believe we will owe her a debt of gratitude. I remain a staunch supporter, in spite of the shadow of a POTUS she works for.

  • Paula Revere

And think about this…We’re such dumbazzes that we are PAYING enormous amounts of OUR MONEY for him to go on his Hate America World Tours. The first one, before he was elected cost 60 Million Dollars, minimum. This time, he had 500 people with him. Do you all realize what this cost? Just ONE NIGHT in some hotel, that he didn’t like the decor of, had to be completely 100% redecorated for his Highness, and it cost 1 Million Dollars for that night. This is ridiculous. We are literally going broke, paying for this scumbag to trash us globally, and we’re helpless to stop this out of control crap.

  • ConfusedAmerican

Like I asked before Why are so many Americans praising Obama while he is pissing on all of us.

  • Ferd Berfle

Maybe she is a real patriot. You know, the kind who would work for someone like That One, not because she agrees with him, not because she thought he would be a good President, not because she wanted the job as SoS, but because she wanted to protect the interests of our country in any way she could.

  • Paula Revere

I answered you on another thread. The loony left hates America too, that’s why.

  • Texas Gal

I don’t get it either CA..it boggles the mind.

  • Katmoon-Adams

I think SOS Clinton, remains as steadfast to our country today, as always. It isn’t about o or the party, more about our country as a whole.

May justice and righteousness be the stability of our times, and order arise out of confusion. Great difficulties may be surmounted by patience and perseverance.

    Abigail Adams

  • oowawa

Yes indeed, Peggy Sue. If we can learn anything positive from the current debacle, let it be that. Let’s finally stand for what is right and good for the country as a whole regardless of party!

    Party Unity My Ass!

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

I said months ago that Hillary was making a mistake taking the SOS position.

While the cheerleaders of Obama carry on I wonder what is running thru their minds as this man globe trots around the world and repeatedly bashes the citizen’s he was chosen paid 620 million dollars or so to represent.

The more I see this man on the world stage the stronger my feelings get that he does indeed despise America. I believe he has nothing to offer as the CIC.

The man is without a moral compass. His past close relationships tell a harrowing tale of what this man is all about.

    1.Rezko……….. slumlord

    2.Ayers………… domestic terrorist

    3Pastor Wright……….. America hater/racist

4Pastor Pfleger…….. I have no words to describe this whackjob.

Each and everyone of these vile people were close associates of Obama’s. When it was no longer useful he distanced himself from them. Anyone of those four associations would have had an ordinary man or woman run out of a race for President.

This man spoke about his grandmother as ” a typical old white woman” This was the woman who had raised him. Not his mother……..surely not his kenyan father. The man’s past is as shady and unclear as anyone I have ever seen trying to run for office let alone obtain the office of POTUS. If you can not even be loyal to the woman who raised you…..well you get the picture.

That bump you felt in recent days was America being thrown under the bus and run over. Oh but wait… I am sure the driver will slam it in reverse and make sure the job is finished.

I am really pissed about his behavior. he forgets he lives in the house of the people. It is not his divine right to live in the Whitehouse. The Whitehouse belongs to me, and to all of you who are American citizens

I suspect the Whitehouse will be on “lockdown ” many more days to come.

    Rant over ………..

  • ConfusedAmerican

Sorry Paula I think I missed it. The treads are moving quite fast today with so many interesting comments.

  • candymarl

Why did Obama want to be President? According to him we do nothing right. We must apologize for everything. As though no other nation/country in history did any thing wrong.

Obama is a walking disaster. By the time he gets finished we will blamed for every atrocity since the beginning of time.

Has America done terrible things? Yes. Many of those things were done in concert with allies. Why doesn’t Obama apologize for them as well?

Saudi Arabia, and I’ve watched the videos, have TV shows instructing men how to beat their wives. But this is the type of leader Obama bows to.

I’m sick of the whole thing.

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh……. Just like Michelle is the next Jackie Kennedy, pure fantasy.

  • Ferd Berfle

    “too intelligent and too weak.”

If Kennedy were both inexperienced and weak, he at least had one up on That One. That One is merely too weak.

  • ConfusedAmerican

So when will the picture of Obama’s bus be updated to include America and Americans?

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

    Nice choice Kat!

Abigail was a real woman in very difficult times.

  • Palm Tree

Placating tyrants is not a policy that promotes peace.

Larry, you are so right. Tyrants can be seen as sociopaths (which they often are). And what happens when one seeks to placate a tyrant/sociopath?

They kill you, that’s what. Playing “nice” has absolutely no good effect in this dynamic; in fact for one who chooses this course, it brings their own destruction.

  • Ferd Berfle

You are spot on about That One. That is why I am more comfortable with HRC as SoS. I believe she is doing this for all the right reasons and none of the wrong (see my comments, above). If she isn’t, then we’re screwed.

  • arran Madison

Accepting the SoS position gave Hillary, a dedicated Democrat and a long-time public servant, a place with some influence and power to guide this callow, inexperienced, new president in foreign policy. I hope she isn’t being marginalized in policy meetings, but whether she is, or not, I want her to resign after this first term.

Her job ratings are in the low 70s for some part of that percentage because people think she has been defanged and is no longer a threat to 0. So, yeah, whatever, we like her in her place.

    She is my hero.

  • oowawa

Why are so many Americans praising Obama while he is pissing on all of us.

OA, Maybe it’s a political version of the “trickle-down” theory. Golden showers bring May flowers? Hope and rainbows to all, and “make sure your umbrella is upside down.”

  • NoTrollZone

    Agree with you Fred.

  • Ferd Berfle

    That should read:

If Kennedy were both intelligent and weak, he at least had one up on That One. That One is merely too weak.

    Fumble fingers at it again.

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

I saw them and I do believe she has the BEST intentions. I just don’t see how she can ride this thing out for four years.

  • Katmoon-Adams

Yes, I love her writings, she really had a quality to her way of expressing herself; as well as being very outspoken on several issues, particularly equal rights between the sexes. Not to mention her husband was a curmudgeon, much like mine is!

  • James Guglielmino

I have previously commented that Juan Cole, without a doubt, an expert on the middle east having lived there for a total of six years and being fluent in one Arabic language and passable in another, responded to an email request that I sent him with the assertion that Obama “was doing a two hand hand shake, something that would not be acceptable if he were meeting European monarchy.” Now, Cole acknowledges on his Face Book site and elsewhere, that he admires Obama, though he has been critical of some of the things the new President has done, so he is going to be prejudiced. On the other hand, you general manifest disdain for Obama so you are also prejudiced but in the other direction. I believe I will accept Cole’s version in this case.

In any case, what *I* would call what Obama was doing is GREETING a leader of a nation that is supposed to be our ally, despotic or not. One thing is for sure, he won’t be LESS despotic if we don’t greet him and talk to him. This greeting most certainly does not come close to the despicable and dastardly relationship that our nation had with Saddam Hussein through both Democratic and Republican administrations.
Regarding the greeting of Chavez, what *I* would call what Obama is doing is greeting a legally, democratically elected leader of a South American nation, a leader who Bush succeeded in over throwing except that the people rose in mass to un-do the coup. Is there a better description of the two events?

  • catherine

You bring up a very important point. I’ve noticed among many (though certainly not all…my parents are immigrants) naturalized citizens that there is a disconnect for lack of a better word in how they view the USA and those of us who were reared here since birth or early age.

Many …again certainly not all or even most…merely see our country as “the land of opportunity” but really don’t seem to understand the reverence we feel for the Constitution, Bill of Rights. I even had one person tell me that she could’nt believe the sort of “brainwashing” and “propaganda” her child was subjected to by pledging allegiance to the flag in school every morning.I had to explain its significance and that instilling love of country is not brainwashing. What I really wanted to say is “Since you come from a corrupt shit hole where people continually commit unimaginable atrocities to women and children and that does’nt even have a standing army to protect its own citizens how could you possibly understand the sense of pride and love that Americans feel for our country.”

I had another immigrant who’s anti-gun actually say to me that the 2nd Amendment was written long ago and should be gotten rid of. Again I politely explained that the Bill of Rights is inviolable and maybe others might suggest we start removing other Amendments because “they were written ages ago”.

And nobody better accuse me of being anti-immigration because my parents happen to be immigrants. But there is a HUGE difference between those who come here and embrace our laws and those who merely come here for financial reasons or escaping an oppressive government but yet want to oppress others here by suggesting that the USA should no longer be the USA.

If others wish to turn us into a quasi Europe or caliphate than they are the ones who need to change their perspective or just leave. The USA is a great nation precisely because of those laws.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

Let’s finally stand for what is right and good for the country as a whole regardless of party!

LMAO CA….America’s under the Obama bus! It’s pretty crowded down there. I hope I don’t have to sit on Reverend God Damn America’s lap or anything.

  • Juliet16

I think Hillary is playing along with the current administration so that after Obama finishes his 1 or 2 terms, Hillary will be free to run for prez. So she is keeping her mouth shut and going with the flow so as not to damage her future postition within the party.

But it is clear that Hillary is being marginalized BIG TIME and that she has just about no power, at all. Hillary is a figurehead only. All of the special envoys and Obama’s policy people (both appointees at State and other hand-picked 2nd tier assistants) are the ones determining policy — not Hillary. I doubt that they listen to her at all, and frankly I do not think that she is surprised by this. It gives her additional bragging rights to say that she was SOS so that she can claim experience on the international level for her next run, but that’s all.

But in the end, Hillary will be thrown under the bus… and a younger candidate (maybe Susan Rice?) will be pushed… Hillary probably realizes this too, but she’s gotta try just in case….

So why bother even CONSIDERING what Hillary is doing or thinking or saying right now? She has just about now power at all, so it doesn’t matter….

  • Paula Revere

CA…The loony left thinks that America is nothing but a bunch of bigoted, white men, who are warmongers, who don’t spread their hard earned dollars to the lower classes, and leave a huge carbon footprint that destroys the planet. According the the loony left, like Obama, America is responsible for every bad thing that has ever happened on planet Earth and should be punished. Not a very patriotic crowd. Oh, yeah, and there is a bunch of GLEE on these threads when discussing how “America is no longer a superpower.” What KIND of American is happy about THAT? Very sad.

  • James Guglielmino

And sometime later he sent missiles to Cuba. And shortly after that, he found that Kennedy wasn’t as weak as he thought.
Having said that, there is little doubt in my mind that the missiles went to Cuba because of the perception that Kennedy was weak. I do not think the nations of the world, in general have that perceptioni of Obama. The mini crisis off the coast of Somalia, in no way hurt Obama…except on Limbbag’s show, where Limpbag made the point, just before he was strapped into a straight jacket, that the pirates were youths. Yeah.

  • Portia Elizabeth

That’s exactly my thinking, Ferd. Hillary has proven that her foremost goal is to protect and support our nation. If it means working within the system, she’s mature enough to recognize that it’s the surest way to get the job done. Is there anyone working today who hasn’t had to bite his/her tongue and keep working?
I understand there are people who can’t grasp the concept of “the greater good”, but at least Hillary can.

  • oowawa

Your husband may be a curmudgeon, Katmoon, but he is kind to animals, and that is a really good sign!

  • Paula Revere

Sorry, I have had it with the immigration thing. Living in California is a real big example of that particular experiment gone really wrong. If people want to come here legally, and embrace our laws, Constitution, Declaration of Independence, etc. then I can live with it. For the people who come here, drain our system of money, resources, etc., and then piss on us, I say go home.

  • ConfusedAmerican

I have a feeling that even some Obama supporters are beginning to wonder why the heck he wanted to be president.
Maybe more of us should have listened to what Michelle was saying in the beginning.

maturity is the key……Obama has none.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

I do not think the nations of the world, in general have that perceptioni of Obama.

That is patently absurd on its face. How you can post such unmitigated manure without suffering projectile vomiting from its stench is beyond me. Anyone who actually does some research on the Lamb-in-Chief knows that he is as inexperienced as they come. His single-page, double-spaced resume is as thin as the paper it is placed on. That he is a simpering neophyte in a dangerous world is self-evident

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

I still have not heard an answer why he needed an entourage of 500. Celebrities go broke all the time thinking they have unlimited funds.

    Will we be next?

  • Glennmcgahee

Its obvious to me that Obama needs a history lesson badly. Relationships with other countries are what they are because of the behaviors of the same. The human rights abuses, the plundering of the citizen’s treasury, abuses of power are what caused many of the actions Obama feels the need to apologize for. Look at Iran locking up a journalist, Cuba’s many political prisoners, the beheadings and beatings in Islamic countries and latin america and many of these so-called leaders came to power through guerilla warfare and dictatorships, hardly DEMOCRACY. We who are older, remember what lead to alot of these actions. Funny though, Obama thinks any criticism is directed at him personally (“I was only 3 years old”). What the heck. Thank god Hillary is on the job. I hate that she is propping him up, but I sleep better at night.

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

Those would be bus treads ;)

  • Katmoon-Adams

I’m going to focus on what I think I see SOS Clinton doing, serving her country. She isn’t nor should she be wanting to garner any power. I believe just as she served as a first lady and as the Senator of New York, she will serve our country well as Secretary of State. Even though it is difficult to recall and know she would have been a much better president, it was stolen away. At some point we have to move forward away from what should have been, and see that SOS Clinton is still giving 100% to what she has set out to do. Whether or not she runs in 2012, remains to be seen, I do not believe a younger candidate would be put in place of SOS Clinton should she decide to run again, nor do I believe her hands are tied, I know she is far more intelligent and equally responsible not to have anyone put their fingers or policies to facts that she alone will be responsible for presenting. Maybe I am too optimistic, but I always felt, after coming to terms with the traitorous behavior of the DNC, Senator Clinton, would be the best person to be SOS, as she garners more respect on the world level, having the ability, experience and decided allegiance to her country to have our best interests in mind when she carries out her duties.

  • oowawa

Someone made a very interesting analogy …I forget where…so I’m gonna plagiarize.

Obama pursued the presidency with the same ruthless single-mindedness that women in the 1950′s pursued marriage. Like these women who were more interested in GETTING married rather than in BEING married Obama was obviously only interested in BECOMING POTUS rather than BEING POTUS.

Hillary said it best when she said the presidency was not a job for a show horse but for a work horse.

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

Glennmcgahee his excuses are legendary…I was only 8, I wasn’t born yet, I was in pakistan when that happened, That isn’t the Rev Wright I knew, I inherited this mess…………shall I go on?

candymarl — your comments got me to wondering: Could it be that BO is just soooo naive and narcissistic that, like the little boy who stole cookies and then looked up at his mother and smiled sweetly as he confessed, he thinks he can be forgiven anything and everything? Can BO truly think that his charm will override all and make him so popular he’ll be voted World Prom King?

  • ConfusedAmerican

Right now our educational buget, especially in agriculture areas is geared to making immigrants comfortable.
There are special smaller classes taught in spanish so that they can learn in their language. On top of that there are extra teachers hired to help them in even smaller groups to learn their lessons.

Some agricultural areas have school districts of upwards of 75% immigrants with over 50% of them illegals. Yet they are the ones with the special programs and free meals that eat close to 50% of the district’s budget.
No wonder we have a problem with education in the border states.
Did you know that Calif has the highest amount of adults in America who cannot read. I cant find the site it was on, but over 20% of adults in Calif cannot read.

  • candymarl

I agree. I think Obama was jealous of the attention Hillary was getting in the media.

So Obama decided to play diplomat instead. Too bad he’s screwing it up and being punked by one leader after another.

  • Katmoon-Adams

oowawa, so true and I like his curmudgeoness, its honest.

One reason for him to greet Chavez, even after his (Obama’s intemporate remark about Chavez, that he exported terrorism) could be related to all that oil, don’t you think? I mean, even if he DIDN’T want to greet a legally elected leader, hmmm?
The implementation of NAFTA in the manner that it has been implemented is probably as responsible for the illegal entrants into this country. The Mexican farmers cannot compete with subsidized American agriculture.

    Fantastic to read that again.

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

Donna, I have missed you. LMAO

  • Paula Revere

I came to California in 1978 to go to USC. Back then it was a completely different state. There wasn’t much traffic, the gang stuff hadn’t kicked in quite yet, etc. Now, the LA Unified School District is 95% Hispanic, and if you have an English speaking child, too bad for you. It’s really gotten out of hand and we don’t have the money to keep supporting it. It has broken our health care system, because illegals use the ER as a doctor’s office. It’s a mess. The one thing I had issue with McCain about what this immigration nonsense, but I was willing to deal with it because I knew he wouldn’t completely destroy America, like the Fraud is.

  • James Guglielmino

Obama succeeded in the rescue of the American captain WITHOUT loss of American lives. The French weren’t quite as successful. You would be ONLY too happy to give criticism if the results were not so good. Wouldn’t it be just a tiny bit gentlemanly for you to give credit for success? I suppose that is too much to ask. You would prefer to give the blame and responsibility for a failure to Obama and try to say that he succeeded in spite of him. Nice guy.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

Donna, you are quick to the draw, which makes you a dangerous adversary for any troll who has the dumb luck of getting one of your patented put-downs. Hat’s off to you.

I do not think the nations of the world, in general have that perceptioni of Obama.

They may not have acted on it yet overtly but there is no doubt in my mind world leaders basically respect someone for working their way through the ranks, paying their dues and serving their time in the trenches. That’s how they got to be leaders, right ? They’re formidable opponants seizing on his every action and judging it experienced, strong, capable, with gravitas. What falls short comparatively will be exploited.

To say it will go unremarked when a total neophyte then waltzes onto the scene with a load of B.S. into the White House is ridiculous on the face. It’s like putting an intern in charge of a Fortune 500 company and making it taboo to talk about then wondering two months later what has possibly gone so wrong.

What Obama failed to tell you during the 36 hour episode is that the Captain fell over TWICE and the first time the Seals had clear shot to take the pirates out and rescue the captain EXCEPT Obama did not permit them to act.

That is not leadership, Obama was verifying if he somali relative was one of the pirates before they got knocked the f*** out.

I’m sure you’re an expert in this technique.
However, you are not a visionary and are a pathetic apologist for our Surrender in chief.

Obama succeeded in the rescue of the American captain WITHOUT loss of American lives.

If I was an enemy of the United States i would laughing my head off at the reverse psychology that you have been sucked into excepting.
I have heard the captain speak and he never once thanked obama. He knows where credit should be given and probably wonders why the terrorists picked an American flag ship only hours after the end of Obama’s fantasy apology tour.

You better pray we never get attacked again as it will be curtains for the democrats and your defeatist agenda

I agree completely. Liberals love to blur the line between illegal and legal immigrants. I find for the most part legal immigrants have respect for what we stand for…but not always. People coming from socialist countries often expect the government to continue to take care of them. I used to live out in the Richmond District in SF and was floored to see it populated with Russian Jewish immigrants…most were overweight, bad teeth, and were in subsidized housing with food stamps. It’s such skewed thinking.

And on the other side, one friend who employed a Mexican worker, making very good wages, here for years, home owner, pretty good English (kids completely literate), seemed to embrace the American dream…refused an American flag for his house when it was offered as a gift. I was so furious…wanted to kick his butt all the way back to Tijuana. Obvious that he is here only for the rewards. What do you want to bet he’s been working with fake papers all these years?

One relative is engaged to a young European woman and are in line for a fiance visa…doing everything by the book. You can’t imagine what these two educated people have to go through to prove she isn’t a terrorist and the fees which must be paid in British Pounds (neither are in England)…but they will jump through all the hoops because they do respect our laws.

  • Portia Elizabeth

I seem to recall reading something about that. Its truly troubling. Do you by any chance have a link to the story?

To those continuing the Hillary bashing as to working in Obama’s administration need to think for a moment on several points:

First, Hillary’s days in the Senate were numbered, with Reid and Pelosi controlling Congress, Hillary would have been silenced like all other Obama critics and Obama would have seen to it that someone else won the Dem nod in Hillary’s NY district in 2012.

Second, Hillary is a strategic person, knows when to play and when to remain silent and let those around her fall apart, and after Obama’s disaster at the G-20 tour and the Pope rejecting his bid of Kennedy as Amb to Rome, something really changed with Hillary last week. For the first time, Hillary never included Obama’s name in State Dept policy and endevours as seen in this video:
    http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2009/04/15/hillary-announces-counter-piracy-initiatives/

Third, the Bill thing is such a stupid excuse for insane people, he reacted as any man or woman would when caught with their pants down and the blood for it is on the GOP’s hands, not Bills.

Fourth, the only person able to fire Hillary from SOS is Obama, and the backlash won’t be just American wide, but world wide if he did and the dust settled and it was exposed as simply due to political motives by Obama, because Hillary isn’t foolish enough to do something to place herself in a position for Obama to fire her, she is too smart, unless she does it planned before the next election cycle to discredit Obama and run against him again which will see in late 2010!

My ex husband was here on an expired work visa from the UK. He ended up being a criminal, getting involved in the largest white collar fraud Ponzi scheme in CA. They had an entire FBI task force dedicated to him and his scumbag pals. He and his little buddies stole 126 Million Dollars, mainly from elderly people and retirees. Nice. But I guess Nancy (the Pig) Pelosi would have thought it was Un-American to deport him. He never got his green card, which he could have because of our marriage, so he was completely illegal. We were only married for four months, and I had no idea WTF he was doing. But I still sting that he was here illegally pulling his crap.

He ended up going to jail here, for five years, all of which we paid for. He also still has all the money, which he hid in some offshore bank.

I think Hillary might have had an aide step up to take the book. Which would have been proper. And you’re right. She wouldn’t have been smiling. Scorpio that she is, she’d probably given Chavez the piercing-I’m-looking-through-you-Scorpion staredown.

Of course, Chavez wouldn’t even have offered her anything so it wouldn’t have come up.

  • ConfusedAmerican

That part about Obama hestitating on giving permission to act seems to be all over the internet.
I have read several articles that were by Navy Seals that say Obama kept from acting pretty much the whole time. I think there is a link on this site somewhere to one of them.
Obama deserves credit because he was president and that is it. Since we would have given any other president the credit for a good turnout or bad turn out so we give Obama that credit.
As I have read on here from several people I believe the True Credit belongs to the military and the captain.

pm317 — I so hope you weren’t referring to me or my comment above… I am SOOOOOOOO not an Obama fan. I sure as hell didn’t vote for him.

I just don’t trust him at all — furthermore, I don’t even think that Obama is calling his own shots, domestically or with respect to foreign policy.

I think Obama has been bought-and-paid-for and is doing the bidding of his big financial backers… and THEY are the ones who engineered the funny business at the Caucuses during the primaries.

Sure, Hillary is doing the best she can, but I see no reason to assume that Obama’s backers are going to listen to either Hillary or Obama… I am sure they already have their own agenda, and those who work in this administration are taking their marching orders from these backers and merely doing their bidding….

I feel about Hillary the much same way I felt about Colin Powell – a good and decent and smart person doing their best to be a voice of reason in a BAD administration.

My hope is that should there ever be a real “Colin Powell Moment” for Hill, where she has to choose between supporting the administration in a blatant wrongdoing, or stepping down, that she will make a better choice than he did. I don’t think that sort of watershed event has come, and I hope it won’t.

But I am concerned, and I am watching. And if that moment comes, I will condemn her as roundly as anyone, much as I respect her. Just as I condemned Powell for his cowardice and lie – though I had respected him and understood that he was in a bad spot.

Excusing Bill Clinton’s behavior doesn’t make it right. Maybe denying it is the norm but a person with any integrity left would have admitted it. He was the President and held to a higher standard.

You are so right….Frankly, I couldn’t care less about the affair and nonsense. We’re how many years past it, and who gives a F**k anyway. I would hope that we could be spending our time trying to undo Obama’s damage which is more imminent and an emergency.

Nevertheless, the bugaboo about rehashing the Clinton thing, for me, is that we all make fun of the Bots here. We chastise them for their “blind” faith in someone, and for not being objective about him. Well…uhhhh…then why can’t people here just admit it? Bill F**ked up and he paid for it. Period. End of story. No one is saying he’s a moron, or was a crappy President. He made a mistake, and he made it bigger and bigger and bigger when he lied. So what? It’s the truth and it’s going to always BE the truth. Now, can we let it go?

It isn’t the actions done by Bill, it is the actions taken to use such things shows simply how low people will go in order to smear someone they cannot beat on a level field.

So enough said, as your the one who is pointing the finger at yourself for apparent Clinton bashing. It doesn’t refer to you anywhere in my remarks, but seems the shoe does fit you since you lay claim to it and seem to continue the discussion on that one thing, you have a fixation on it!

Thank you. I didn’t know anything about it, and luckily got out of it in under four months. But I DID get subpoenaed by the US Attorney in Tampa, Florida and got interrogated for two straight days. Lovely time I had…the FBI, the IRS Criminal Division, the Forensic Accountant, the Receiver of the Assets and the US Attorneys all in one room with me and my lawyer. Nice. I almost needed Depends to get through it. But he finally went to jail. On US. Ughhhhh….

  • Paula Revere

Mel…Come on…I didn’t bash Bill and I think he was a good President. I’m just asking people to hold ALL politicians up to the SAME standards. If McCain had done it, as President, the Dems would have sent THEIR version of Ken Starr too. You know damned well they would have. As for smears? You might want to check what the Dems did to Palin. You can’t deny that. None of this is okay. It’s unfortunate that the President has to live a different life, under constant scrutiny, but hey that’s the job. They caught Edwards too and no one thought they would. It happens all over the place. Bill could have handled it differently but he didn’t. Can’t you be objective?

I’m just tired of partisan politics, hypocrisy and double standards. Period.

  • oowawa

Excusing Bill Clinton’s behavior doesn’t make it right.

Nope, Tom Cat, it sure doesn’t. When the Lewinski scandal first broke, I remember my words: “I feel so betrayed . . . ” Really a silly thought–I wasn’t married to him–but in a sense the whole country had married him, for better or for worse.

But then, I was just a young naive puppy. Now I’m an old naive puppy. I’ve forgiven his weaknesses, but I’m still bitter about the fact that he made Monica Lewinski one of the most powerful people in the 20th century. Yeats’s poem “Leda and the Swan” comes to mind . . .

wow…intense poem…very pertinent though. Personally I just thought it was a damn shame that Clinton tainted his otherwise popular presidency just to get a BJ. Pretty damn stupid. That is not the only indescretion he had however. Several women accused him of “inappropriate” sexual behavior. Of course that would describe about 95% of the male population. Society accepts it so they think it’s ok. I always notice men come to the defense of other men who do this too.

The point being that most women today marry because they want to spend the rest of their lives with the man they marry. Back then women were NOT financially independent and being an “old maid” was tantamount to wearing a scarlet letter.

Back then a lot of women married for the WRONG reasons …financial security and as a “status symbol”.

0bama pursued the presidency for the WRONG reasons as well. He is not committed to the American people and the responsibility that being POTUS entails.

I adore Bill Clinton but c’mon we all knew he was a horndog even before the ’92 election when the Gennifer Flowers tapes came out.

I’m not saying his womanizing is ok, but speaking for myself anyway what I found most disappointing about Bill was that he KNEW that republicans were out to get him. In fact Wyoming Senator Alan Simpson (R) when he retired from the senate payed the President a visit at the Oval office to warn him. According to Carl Bernstein Simpson told the Prez to be careful because it was going to get a lot worse and when Clinton asked him why were the republicans doing this, Simpson responded “Payback for Watergate.”

Clinton is the savviest politician of his generation and a man of unbelievable intelligence. So my anger at him at the time was how the heck did he put himself in this kind of situation KNOWING that the opposition was ruthlessly looking for ANYTHING to nail him with?!?!

But all is forgiven and I still love him. Oh God, how I wish we had a President Clinton right now.

“The mini crisis off the coast of Somalia, in no way hurt Obama….”

You have to be kidding. The credit for resolving that crisis went squarely to Navy Seals, Capt. Phillips, his crew and the US Navy. Did you see Capt. Phillips’ return to Vermont? He knew who to thank for his safe return and he never mentioned Obama—who does not even know how to return a salute for god’s sake.

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/19/senator-says-obamas-appearance-with-chavez-irresponsible

His lack of concern over regimes that want to be the power brokers, there are enemies that cannot be negotiated with and want us destroyed couldn’t be more obvious. Apparently he intends to play (literally) right into their hands.

Sen. John Ensign, R-Nevada, told CNN Sunday it was “irresponsible” for President Obama to have been seen “laughing and joking” with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at the Summit of the Americas on Friday.

“This is a person who is one of the most anti-American leaders in the entire world,” Ensign told CNN’s John King on State of The Union. “He is a brutal dictator and human rights violations are very, very prevalent in Venezuela. And you have to be careful.”

“When you’re talking about the prestige of the United States and the presidency of the United States, you have to be careful who you’re seen joking around with,” he also said.

Chavez — whose anti-U.S. rhetoric has included calling former President George W. Bush the devil — announced Saturday he is considering naming an ambassador to the United States, signaling a potential shift in the tense relations between the two nations.

Speaking to reporters Sunday in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Obama brushed aside criticism of the appearance, saying, “It’s unlikely that as a consequence of me shaking hands or having a polite conversation with Mr. Chavez that we are endangering the strategic interests of the United States.”

“Even with the imaginative crowd, I think that you would be hard pressed to paint a scenario where US interests would be damaged as a consequence of us having a more constructive relationship with Venezuela,” he said.

Also appearing on CNN, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat, downplayed the moment between Obama and the Venezuelan leader, saying, “all the president did was shake his hand like George Bush [did].”

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

I too wonder how she gets through these times watching the One in action, but her job is important and she’s going to be a great SOS.

  • Ani

You know what, she got treated horribly, and by extension, all of her supporters did as well. But the fact is this country is in trouble and her services are needed. There is a bigger picture here.

What if we had blowhard stick your foot in your mouth Biden as SoS? Or Kerry — not much better? Richardson anyone? Those were the other choices. Thank God she stepped up to the plate. Even her detractors say she is doing an excellent job. I think it is horrible of you to characterize her as an opportunist. She is a work horse, not a show horse, like our POTUS. There is a big difference. She just doesn’t sit around having a pizza party — she is working — and she is working on behalf of the U.S. of A.

Clearly if it were just about opportunism she would not go about her job as quietly as she does. Enough with the Hillary bashing please.

    :)

Politics is a blood sport and a filthy business. It shouldn’t be, but it is. Much as I hate that she is part of this administration, I feel relieved with her in this position. What was the alternative — pick up her marbles and go home?

She brings a knowledge, gravitas and even a star power to the job and commands respect around the world — surely we could use some of that right now. She’s not always going to get everything right either, but I’m sure she’s doing her best with this miserable situation.

  • Lyn

Could you imagine IF she said No? Who would we have Kerry? Richardson? God Forbid. I am thankful she put our country first.

  • Paula Revere

Annie, and let’s add to it…please pay some taxes so that you can help pay for the burden you are.

  • Mandelay

Yes, the Captain’s “thank you” remarks were as long as some of the speeches at the Oscars. I was very surprised to hear both the Captain and his wife thank many people by name, but not the POTUS. Haven’t heard anyone comment on that, not even FOX. And I think I read somewhere that the POTUS called Mrs. Philips prior to the rescue.

Larry, loved this post. I also wonder about HRC as I continue to wonder about the terms of the deal that brought her to the SOS position. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at the 9/11/08 luncheon between Obama and Bill Clinton. Who threatened whom with what? The image of primary candidate HRC, warning against the idiocy of Obama’s plans, contrasted with SOS HRC, now personifying the execution of Obama’s idiocy is troubling indeed. Don’t see how she can continue this without resigning as some point. I know politics makes strange bedfellows but the POTUS who openly confesses that America is “arrogant” as he continues to make nice with some of the most arrogant, corrupt and violent people on the international scene makes me shake my head at Obama’s antics as I wonder why HRC continues to remain in a position that makes her an enabler of Obama’s idiocy. And the nightmare continues ….

  • arran Madison

catherine–I’m not disputing your comments, but what I read was that, after Carter’s defeat, the Republicans thought they had it set up to win election after election and roll back FDR’s New Deal. Along comes Clinton and snatches the election away from Bush1 *twice* and the losses made them mad as hell and energized for payback. Clinton had his vulnerabilites that they exploited to the hilt.

I thought the Reagan era had restored their equlibrium in spades. Anyway, interesting view.

  • Paula Revere

Come on, guys, how long do you think this would have gone on if Obama’s daughter was the hostage? Do you think they might have done something a little differently? Obama is a pussy, but I also think there are bigger reasons why he didn’t act. Nevertheless, that poor Captain was quoted as saying that he jumped ship “because he didn’t believe anyone was coming for him.” And he has never once, never thanked the Fraud. Hmmm….doesn’t that tell everyone something? Because he knows the Fraud almost got his frigging head blown off.

Ulysses, you are right. WHEN we get attacked again, not IF, I hope every American citizen in this country blames the loony left for shoving this America hating garbage down our throats. It’s unspeakable that we have to have our “President” on the America Sucks World Tour, pay probably close to 100 Million for it all told, and then watch him bungle a hostage situation that almost cost American lives. We are SO not going to survive him.

  • Lyn

HE SHOULD have greeted him like Hillary did,THAT would have been dimplomatic, not like he was thrilled to see his long lost friend. He certainly didn’t have to reach around the backs of a couple other leaders during the picture to shake his hand a 3rd time.

The “only” redeeming factor in this administration is Hillary Clinton. One need only look at the woman’s history and record to know that she is dedicated to public service and is a true servant of American interests. This is the opposite of opportunism.

As Ani points out, HRC does have the experience, the knowledge and gravitas that commands respect in the world. I’m grateful for her continuing role and influence, as should we all be.

  • Peggy Sue

Hillary had the right-wing element savaging her for years. I’m sure she can take whatever 0bami dishes out. I’m glad she’s in a position of influence and power, eyes wide-open.

  • gonzotx

Bull, the World knows the Fraud held the Navy back. He only allowed them to do their job when finally, they did it inspite of him

  • Peggy Sue

    Paula said:

“I’m just tired of partisan politics, hypocrisy and double standards. Period.”

No, I don’t think that’s the truth, Paula. I think you like the soft shoe version of partisan politics, little rabbit jabs where ever and when ever you can. I don’t believe your statement, anymore than I believe the moniker. What was the I’mFedUp name getting too hot under the collar?

Liar, liar, pants on fire! Your signature is all over these posts.

  • Paula Revere

Peggy Sue, have you LOST YOUR MIND? Oh my god. Really, you have a big thing for me, but I changed my username because we’re all changing them to “patriot” names and Seattle Moss made this name up for me. Did you notice Ferd using Benjamin Franklin? Moss using Ulysses S. Moss? What’s the MATTER with you? I wasn’t hiding who I was. DUH.

Yet again, I have done nothing to you and you attack me. Because, truth be told, you are the one who hates Republicans and I made the big mistake of saying I registered as one under a year ago. And I also said I won’t join you in the daily Bush bashing. So now I am evil, right?

Jabs? No, I respond when people are being hypocrites on both sides. Rabbit jabs? You have called me names, humiliated and insulted ME for no reason whatsoever. Oh yeah, I forgot, I’m a “Republican Shill” (your own words, how dare you?)

I will refrain from calling you the names you call me. But you really need some help with that user name thing. Wow….just…wow.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

The Mexican farmers cannot compete with subsidized American agriculture.

Oh, sure, blame it on the American farmers. Why those Mexican farmers ought to be able to compete against unsubsidized American agriculture… except for the pesky fact that even if they could, the food they produce is not inspected very closely, if at all, and has a good chance of being contaminated with salmonella and other unsavory organisms. If you’re so concerned for their plight, goober, you eat their stuff.

    Didn’t think so.

  • Paula Revere

PS, Peggy Sue, I won’t hold my breath for the apology you owe me. But, really, WTF on that name thing…have you looked at Donna Brazile, Painkiller Jayne, Wodiej, etc. They ALL changed their names to “patriot” names too. Does that mean they’re getting “hot under the collar?” ROFLMAO. You kill me.

  • BB

The Neocon era is over. We have nothing to fear from these countries and these democratically elected leaders.

Nothing wrong with trying a new approach.

The tough guy stuff does not work and never has.

  • Peggy Sue

Please, don’t hold your breath. Because you will not get an apology from me. And yes, I noticed the “unusual” change in monikers.

Take this to the bank–I don’t like lying or deception. High or low, I don’t like excuses. And I don’t give a shit what party your from. Deception and endless narratives do not move me a whit and faux party independence is false as the day is long.

You and your compatriots are liars. Stand by your name, your constant name. Or don’t stand at all!

    Your equivocating disgusts me!

Our kiss and make up days are over, forever.

  • tminu

Apparently he did not stay out of the way, he delayed the SEALS then he restricted intervention to only imminent lethal threat. The Captain would have died of exposure in short order had the pirates not pointed an AK47 at his back and brought on their own demise.

  • Paula Revere

LOL Peggy Sue, I have no earthly idea WTF that RIDICULOUS post was. But I’ll be sure to pass along to Ferd, Seattle and the rest of them (my “compatriots”) that they are “liars.” Do you think maybe you’re just going a tad off the rails here, sweet pea? “Equivocating?” LMAO. Actually, I was being nice to you, assuming that you were sort of not “getting it” and trying to explain kindly. Now, I see that was a mistake. Pearls before swine I guess.

Awww, Peggy Sue, I will be sad that you took your kisses back. Oh well.

  • andrew191

Khrushchev also shipped missiles to Cuba based upon his impression that Kennedy was spineless. The missile crises would never have happened if the President had a kick-ass demeanor.

The pusilanimous prick we now have as president is wiping out the bulwark that has been maintained on the multiple fronts that keep monsters like Castro, Chavez, Korea, Iran, etc. in check. They are ALL scouting the battle lines for the holes that 0bama is creating so that they can crash through and bring the worlds greatest country ever to it’s knees.

Reagan wanted a wall torn down to expand liberty. 0bama is tearing down the walls that have protected us from tyranny.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

I was just happy he decided to have an adult in his cabinet; I hadn’t thought past that what would have happened had she declined. Richardson or Kerry? Oof.

    She did the right thing.

  • tminu

As the Iranians slowly slaughter beautiful North Dakotan journalist Roxan Saberi, do you still think Obama’s “NEW APPROACH” aka appeasement of Iran is at all sane?

Barack Obama just extended his open hand to the Persians, and the Islamocommunist just pissed on that hand by arresting an American Citizen, trying her, convicting her on KGB bogus charges and now is in the process of starving her to death to rub it into Obama’s face.

Obama offered Russia, Polish and Czech lands without defense for assistance on Iran. The Iranians with Russian cover just answered by holding an American hostage in a slow, murderous death.

The Islamocommunists picked the most pretty, delicate and American kind of girl and they are going to slaughter this virgin on their Marxist altar, very slowly, to just show the world how weak Barack Obama is.

This will in turn embolden every enemy of America and weaken every marginal friend of America from Pakistan, Egypt, India to Turkey.

Turkey already saw they could roll Barack Obama and now these 3rd world types are going to be coming to America or somehow neglecting to inform America that a terror event is about to happen.

Look at Roxana Saberi, she is real and she is the outcome of your November 2008 vote.

Do not try and say it was Bush’s fault as this happened on Barack Obama’s watch and is an answer to every one of your policies you have been cheering over.

  • Lyn

Thanks, I agree and was wondering what her old name was. For someone tired of partisan politics it is funny almost every thread is comments about looney left, left hate America, Dems are hipocrits which is really funny since one of my main reasons I don’t respect most GOP leaders are their hipocracy, “family Values- Clinton is a bad bad boy, ect and it turns out most of them were having affairs too. I didn’t see the Dems wasting years and millions when Daddy Bush had an affair with HIS staffer, The only difference is the Dems don’t pretend to be holier than thou and lots of strawman.. I’m sorry if I care about the country… Then we get she changed to Republican last year because she was crushed how the Dems treated Hillary ..but in another post mentions she didn’t know IF she could vote for Hillary.. please.

As for Everyone taking patriotic names, MOST of the people kept part of their own name, so people knew who they are. For someone not liking partisian politics they sure seem to jump in to defend Republicans and Bring up Clintos affair whenever possible.

YES Obama is awful and I will never forgive the DNC for him, BUT after 8 years of Bush Cheney ect the Dems could have run a house plant and won, THAT is the Republicans fault.

  • andrew191

Four of my last five posts have been zapped by the spam creature. Several have shown up hours after I wrote them, so they lost much or all of their impact because the conversation had moved on. How much frustration is possible before surrender.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

We have nothing to fear from these countries and these democratically elected leaders.

Apparently a turnip truck has recently lost a passenger going by the name of BB.

  • Paula Revere

Hey, Lyn, you might want to get your facts straight because you’re looking a little ignorant to those who know who I am, off the board and personally. I did a lot to help Hillary and I can prove it of course. I tried to stop the caucus fraud and went way above and beyond what most people did – all the way to the hearings in Austin to stop the caucus fraud. I SAID I didn’t know who I was going to vote for BECAUSE I WANTED TO SEE THE DEBATES and make a smart choice. Unlike you gals, with your 100% hate of the right, I was thinking maybe I would check out both candidates first. I think that’s called being intelligent, rather than people who only vote party. I was being responsible. Period.

You gals really make me giggle. It’s all about Republican hate. You have to understand, I wasn’t really involved in politics until I got involved with the Hillary mess. And it broke my heart. Shame on you for attacking me for my feelings, the same ones you had about the situation. I just won’t embrace my rapist and vote for another Dem until the party changes. Wow, does that make me a bad person. Ohhhhh so evil.

For the last time, I didn’t vote for Bush. In fact, I didn’t vote either time. It’s none of your business, but just because I don’t say exactly what I’m “supposed” to say, you treat me like crap. Not nice.

I couldn’t find a way to put I’m Fed Up in Paula Revere. Give it a rest ladies, you’re sounding freaky. Why on earth would I try to hide who I am. Despite your blind hate and rage, I have friends here, on and off this blog, and of course they know damned well who I am no matter what name. You really need to get your s**t together. I’m not the person you are creating in your little heads.

  • ConfusedAmerican

Paula — Dont worry she now worth the type in your little finger.

  • beachnan

    I second that AMEN-thanks Catherine.

  • Paula Revere

I know, really frigging bizzaro…Thanks CA.

  • BB

I don’t think the U.S. government or Obama is rolling over on the Iranian government and its treatment of Saberi. There is no proof of that. But, there is a limit to what the U.S. government can do. Iran has a history of imprisoning foreign reporters. In fact, a Canadian Iranian reporter dead in an Iranian jail a few years ago. We shall see what happens with Saberi. Hard to no what ir really going on in this geopolical chess match. It may yet turn out like the pirates.

In fact Obama made a brillant move Obama to reach out to the people of Iran through his recent address to try and separate them from their leadership. Iran’s leadership maintains its power by demonizing the U.S.

By the way what exactly is going to happen with the “3rd world types”? What exactly does “roll Barack Obama” mean?

This neocon BS of us Americans having to live by fear is BS.

A new approach to the world is welcome and may actually reduce the number of so-called “enemies” as you say.

You make a lot of big statements like “This will in turm embolden every enemy of America and weaken every marginal friend of AMerica from Pakistan, Egypy, India to Turkey.’, but offer no real proof to support your argument.

Your black and white reading of the world is complete BS. Throwing around words like “enemy’s”, “terror” etc. same neocon BS of rule by fear.

  • Paula Revere

PS Lyn you are a big liar. I never once, ever, ever, ever on this blog have “brought up” Clinton’s affair. You and Peggy Sue sit around and make crap up. Yes, I responded that I think breaking the law is a bad thing for the President of the United States. I guess some people agreed, since he got impeached. But, frankly, I think it’s pathetic to sit around and talk about Bush OR Bill Clinton. Those things are our past and I don’t give a damn. But I am allowed to have an opinion and just because you don’t like it you attack me. I’m not a Bot honey.

  • Peggy Sue

You got it, Lyn. Larry has the mojo: blame the “individual players” regardless of party affiliation, call them out, label them for what they are: traitors in the truest sense of the word.

You can change your name, you can “try” to change your signature, but the truth always has a habit of seeping out.

It’s easy to lay claim to the word “patriot.” But walking the walk and talking the talk is a whole different matter.

I don’t like liars, regardless of who they pretend to be.

  • Paula Revere

    Peggy Sue, get help. Seriously.

  • imustprotest

Paula, Peggy Sue attacked me the other day and I’ve had the same name on this blog for over a year. Made me wonder who Peggy Sue really is….a former Lil Debbie or “believe” perhaps??

  • Don

So with the dollar at around 1.5 to the euro I guess we are really talking about 1.5 million dollars but heck with this administraiton what is a half million here or a half million there!

  • TeakwoodKite

Hillary’s in a tough spot. If she dares to criticize “The One,” she’ll be shut out. If there’s one thing that narcissists like Obama cannot bear, it’s criticism of ANY kind.

I called this the “Powell Syndrome” awhile back.

Leaders in minority positions generally follow the team.

She knew very well what she was getting herself into.
Not a very strong image of BO to work with. It must be embarresing for her.

  • Paula Revere

Did you read the posts? I can’t even understand WTF these women are talking about?

  • Lyn

YOU spent the after noon attacking ME Because I brought up the fact many Dems stayed home because they could NOT stand Republicans and the right constantly bashing the Clintons made it eaier to remeber why they did not like the GOP party. I NEVER talk about Bush and rarely about Bill Clinton and I rarelywaste my time responding to people following me around being nasty. I don’t care who your friends are on or off the board, you have been mean and rude and act like you are the only one that loves our Country.

I always was shocked that people reelcted Bush after how bad his first term was, so I find it interesting you think it is awful any Dem would stay home instead of voting for a Republican, but you didn’t even bother to vote when Bush was so awful for the country. got it.

  • TeakwoodKite

A very strong motivator, I’d say Ferd.

It is only way it makes sense.

  • Ulysses S. Moss

    Hey Paula,
    You are a true patriot!

Obama has shown his colors enough to alarm even the most centrist and hopeful of people.

My wife can’t stand him since he showed disrespect to Jesus.
Every thing is coming true about his weakness and I now refuse to frequent certain establishments where I know sheeple in lock step voted against this great country

I’m also sorry to hear about your ex husband..Nice to see though that your not totally jaded against some of us guys

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

    That’s for sure.

  • imustprotest

Paula, I did read the posts and found them incomprehensible. I have been following your comments for a while now and have found you to be very consistent in them. I’ve also been to your website and have seen clips of the work you’ve done on the caucus fraud.

  • benny

    hahahahahaha. nice one.

  • Ulysses S. Moss

    Peggy Sue,
I’m sorry to tell you this but you just don’t get it and have very little sense of humor.
I’ve stopped reading your posts of late as you have become this rebid Bush hater and the way you go after a patriot such as Paula when it is obvious that many of us are having fun with patriots of the past is just annoying.
Let me make this clear to you.
Obama is a threat to national security and Bush for all his faults has kept us safe and shown the world during his presidency that you don’t F*ck with the US.
Now we have apologists everywhere and our enemies are laughing.
You are a victim of the same reverse psychology…I’m not!!

    Enemies only respect brute strength!!

  • TeakwoodKite

I’ll give 2 to 1 odds BO had already read the book Chavez gave him. Ayers would have recommended it.

  • Paula Revere

No, Lyn, you said that the GOP better stop talking about the Clintons or they wouldn’t get your vote. I found it odd and not good for you, or the country. But I didn’t “attack” or “disrespect” you the way you have me. That’s another flat out lie.

Rude? No, honest. Just as I welcome people to be honest with me, challenge me, etc. That’s why we’re here. We aren’t all forced to agree with each other and WTF anyway about that?

I didn’t bother to vote a lot Lyn. But I sure did line up and vote AGAINST Obama this year. It’s really none of your business what I did as far as my political life, but once I got involved I got involved. I myself regret not doing it sooner, but you have nor right or license to attack me for using, or not using, my right to vote. Who do you think you are?

  • Patrick Henry

Its moved from about 560 on the Selling List to #2 Teak aver the OBOMA and Hugo Igo Bro hand shake and Photo op..Book Cover and all..

Like the hispanics in LA say..

    “VIVA LA REVOLUTION’”…

  • Paula Revere

Thank you. We are hoping that the bigger version of what we are doing will somehow expose the mess, and stop it from happening again. That’s the reason I am so WTF about these nuts attacking me. Why would I have paid my own money, taken my own time, and killed myself to get those clips put together to take to Denver if I wasn’t helping Hillary. I’m really scratching my head and how strange these people are.

  • Paula Revere

Hey Ulysses…LMFAO…Can you believe I got bitchbites all over me because of the name YOU gave me? Oh, yeah, and you’re a liar for changing your name too! Great, huh?

Yes I am a patriot, yes I love my country, etc.

So glad your wife came around. Much be a much kinder and gentler world in your home LOL.

Thanks for your comments Ulysses. I thought I was on another planet there for a while. Wow.

  • andrew jackson 191

Jeeze USM, where the hell do you think THAT Peggy Sue rant came from? Perhaps she’s still recovering from the usual liberal humor-echtomy.

  • Ulysses S. Moss

    Mr. Jackson
I’m so humbled to be in your presence. If you were the president right now you wouldn’t have allowed the trillions being spent to prop up a house of cards and would have shown the wisdom to take our poison now rather than double the amount later.

Peggy Sue has changed..A few months back I could recognize her but now she is no better than Believe or Sf Hillary.

  • Paula Revere

    LMAO andrew….

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

In fact Obama made a brillant move Obama to reach out to the people of Iran through his recent address to try and separate them from their leadership. Iran’s leadership maintains its power by demonizing the U.S.

LMAO. You must think the Persians are as stupid as you bots apparently are. He isn’t going to win them over with his bloviating any more than you are winning any here by yours. Dealing with Iran is going to be a lot more difficult than pulling the wool over the starry eyes of a gullible US electorate. The Iranians play hardball and he is a rookie.

  • Lyn

show me where I said I would not not vote for the GOP if they didn’t stop talking about the Clintons, I said that is what happened and it could again YOU attacked me,
I said SEVERAL times in the thread I did not say I wouldn’t vote, but you just kept going on and on. and lecturing me what I should or should not do. twist it anyway you want..I don’t really care.

  • Paula Revere

Lyn, if you really want me to I will go find it. I can’t remember what thread it was on, but the exchange was over Clinton’s affair discussion. And you said that if the GOP didn’t STFU about it you all wouldn’t hold your noses and vote for another Republican. For as much as you beat the crap out of me for admitting to the party I chose to join, you and Peggy Sue are more partisan than just about anybody here. The minute you hear GOP you go wild. Not great for the country is my only point. You can blame the GOP (who you blame literally for everything) for Obama because they didn’t all come out. But, see, the GOP didn’t nominate him. It’s stuff like that that gets me really upset. Because I know in 2012 that the Dems will come out again with their partisan nonsense and vote Obama back in. Just because they won’t vote against party. You’re not the only person full of your hate and rage. We all have it about what has happened in recent years.

  • Ulysses S. Moss

You and your compatriots are liars.

Looks like it’s YOU who will be changing names soon…HaHa!!

    Good bye!!!

    Peggy Sue,
    Who the f*ck are you!

  • Paula Revere

PS, instead of your verbal abuse, you could have just asked me if I was “I’m Fed Up.” That was really freaky. We’re all just having fun with the patriot names, and suddenly to you two women it’s some big right wing conspiracy to hide our identities. WTF, really, WTF?

  • Paula Revere

PPS For the record, when I make comments about the “loony left,” I am not referring to the moderate and centrist Dems that seem to post here. I am referring to people like Pelosi, who even you have to admit has gone off the grid to the left. Since I am a little newer to politics, I’m not quite sure I understand the terms “liberal” vs. “progressive” and all that. If you would care to educate me, fine. I just do not like what is being done to this country, here and now, in 2009. And it’s being done by the hard left. That’s what I say, comment on, etc. And I don’t want these people around for long. I would imagine you don’t love it either.

  • Paula Revere

Okay USMoss…that’s hysterical. “Who the f**k are you?” is right. LMAO.

  • Ulysses S. Moss

    Notice Paula,
PS is upset at all of us for using Patriotic names.
PS loathes great Americans and has tonight shown her true anti-American colors and like other loathsome creatures that have frequented this site are now regulated to the dumpster along with their hero’s Chavez,Ortega,Lenin and Mao…

  • Paula Revere

USMoss, WTF ever to Peggy Sue, but I am just weirded out by the big attack on the changing names thing. Did you understand that? My head was spinning. I tried to be nice, but again, WHAT THE F**K?

  • Ulysses S. Moss

You got the best name in the house girl!!

She is jealous and especially so because you attract all the great patriots!

    Go Paula Revere!!!

  • Paula Revere

LOL…I got the name from YOU and then I spent the day taking sh*t for it  I don’t care, I love my name.

  • Ulysses S. Moss

    Paula,
Your name is a keeper and is as valuable as Atlas Shrugged, Red State or even NQ.
You know where I’m going with this…

  • Paula Revere

LOL…I think so…But you can always send me a PM about it.

  • http://liberalrapture.com/ John (from Liberal Rapture)

I am disturbed by Clinton’s participation in the Obama trainwreck.

That said – Mostly what Obama is – is embarrassing. He is so out of his depth on these tours that it must be clear to everyone now – friend and foe – that he can be played easily. This is dangerous. Obama is a weak man.

Can anyone imagine President McCain or President Hillary Clinton sitting through Ortega’s screed?

    No.

Both would have walked out and given a stern lecture on freedom.

Here is what to watch for: Blowback from the entrenched national security establishment.

  • andrew jackson 191

Anyone got change for a twenty?

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

I love that nic Paula Revere

I love the humor most of you bring to a bad situation……….I really do!!!!!

  • Lyn

    http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2009/04/19/gingrich-sees-what-we-see-obamas-spineless-and-clueless/
THERE is the THREAD, I said over and over I never said I wouldn’t vote, but that many many people said it during the GE and MANY big time Hillary supporters that worked their asses off and posted here ALL thru the primaries stayed home. Part of it is because the GOP and DNC for as long as I can remember had completely different platforms and comletely different core beliefs, but many PUMAs were willing to vote for Mccain simply to stop Obama, but the Clinton bashing reminded them of everything they hated about the Republican party and the Clinton years so they couldn’t in good concsious vote for them either. I never said Clinton was perfect or didn’t do anything wrong, just that that many of the voters that the Republican need to cross party lines are Clinton Dems. I will always believe since almost every month the GOP looked for a new thing to investigate about BOTH Clintons, instead of doing their job and worrying about everything else, if it wasn’t the BJ it would have been something else. ALL they did was try to get rid of him and open 1 investigation after another.
The ONLY reason I thanked Peggy for saying who you were, because I had NO idea who decided out of no where to attack me and since I had no idea who you were I certainly didn’t attack you for your party choice. But when people say “YOU Dems are hipocrites, ect and how only you have morals ect and the Dems are 100% to blame for where we are, then I will disagree, everyone knew at least 2 years ago who ever won the Dem side would probably be POTUS because of how Angry everyone was (rightfully so) at Bush and company so the Republicans share the blame AS for me going wild everytime the GOP is mentioned sorry I RARELY mention any GOP or bash them, so once again you are wrong, Most of my posts are about Obama and last year they were about Hillary and Obama Until Hillary was out and THEN I worked hard for Mccain and the only reason I even mentioned people should stop bashing Bill was because it was a thread about Newt and how great he is, should run for POTUS ect and I think THAT would be a big mistake especially against Obama since many of the Dems think of how awful the Republican politicans were during the Clinton Presidency and all their speeches about Family values and high morals and it turned out most of them were doing the same thing as Bill.
As for verbal abuse, I tried to be polite as I could with your being rude and condesending to me. like the post above “even you”

  • Paula Revere

    Lyn,

I’m going to do this…I’m going to take the high road and say you’re right…. I’m a piece of worthless Republican shit. Now, can we get on with it because I’m more worried about Obama destroying my country than some hater on a blog? Clearly we don’t get along, and have very different accounts of who said what. So, you win. Feel better? Good.

  • Paula Revere

PS…The Dems could and should have had Hillary. Then we all would have been fine if the Dems had their guaranteed “we hate Bush and the Republicans” win. What you don’t get…it’s not about party. Obama’s a whole other piece of garbage. Whether I had decided to vote for Hillary or not, I would have been happy to have her in the White House. THAT’S the problem. It’s no longer about GOP vs. DNC. It’s about the most dangerous man in our history and your party NOT shoving four more years of him down my throat.

  • Paula Revere

Thank you Thomas Pain…I love your name too!!!!

  • Thomas Pain Jayne

John I don’t think Hill has much choice right now. she signed on and I am pretty sure she knew she would be involved in a quagmire.

I love your Blog and am pretty sure there will be blowback from the natl Security establishment.

  • PamFlorida

Read your history. Kennedy was perceived correctly as inexperienced and weak by the USSR. He nearly started WWIII, which was narrowly avoided by minutes. The Bay of Pigs was a total disaster, many Cubans died because the promised US military aid failed to materialize. I lived through those days of bomb shelters and practicing ducking under desks at school.
You cannot proclaim “Mission Accomplished” just because Obama defeated 4 pirates. We have many, more dangerous enemies today with nuclear weapons or access to deadly nuclear materiale, not to mention ruthless dictators in Central America who are more than willing to give terrorists safe havens and a shortcut into our country. Jihadists are aggressively converting Central and South American peasants to radical Islamic beliefs.
Obama is giving the appearance of an appologist and appeaser, much like the Vichy goverment in France during WWII. Unless he has an ace up his sleeve, he is treading on dangerous ground.

  • tead off

Obama sat still while the diatribe by the Latin nations went on for 52 minutes. When this was done to Bush he got up and walked out.

  • warehouse553

Susan Rice may indeed become Secretary of State one day but no black person will ever again become President after all this racial guilt bullsh*t. Obama is actually hurting AAs more than they will ever know. Racism is only a word now with no meaning. Don’t get me wrong, it still exists to some degree but many people just don’t care anymore.

  • Patrick Henry

Looks like We got a “New” Kinda Government..

Executive branch..Legislative branch..JudicialBanch..Canbinet and State department all rolled into one Big “DUBBI DUDE”..who is the “ONE” Who Gets to INHALE and BLOW Smoke..and Hallucinate all by himself..

The Others..like Hillary are there for window dressing the make Obamas SMOKE shop look LEGIT..

I understand why he relates to Chavez and Castros Style …That ain’t a Cuban Cigar we see…Its The worlds biggest DUBBI…

  • warehouse553

Hillary and every other Democrat is afraid of being labeled a racist. AAs, who are about 12% of the general population, now control the Democrat Party. No Democrat will ever challenge him. We have to help the Republicans retake the House. I know alot of Hillary supporters, including myself, don’t trust the Republicans but sacrifices must be made. Think about it people, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi!

  • Paula Revere

    Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi!

    Music to my ears!!!!

Obama is not a leader. He’s a schmoozer who is always looking for the next manipulation. He’s quickly turning this country into a very corrupt and dangerous place.

Given all he has done in such a short time, we had better be thinking about how we are going to repeal this stuff and get his butt out of there.

I’m hoping Hillary finds a way to confront him and assert herself otherwise she is going to get gobbled up and rendered stature-less by his megalomania.

  • andrew jackson 191

Convicted felons Pelosi, Franks, Dodd, Reid, and 0bama.

    A symphony!!!!!

  • Paula Revere

LMAO Andrew…By the way, can someone tell us who exactly we CAN get rid of in 2010? I know Reid, but who else? Dodd too, right? Any more of the CONgress Super Scum we can vote out????

  • andrew jackson 191

If Mossy is serious, I’ll be his campaign manager to get rid of Jim McDumbass in our district. When Baghdad Jim came to my sons school for career day, my son brought Jim’s card from the “Deck of Weasels” to school, and the kid got Jim to SIGN IT!! What a LOSER!!!

  • Lyn

Interesting you claim YOU will take the high road, then call me a hater.I never said you were a worhtless piece of anything, once again your strawman.

Since we have different accounts of who said what on a thread I gave you the link to, I’ll take that you could not find where I said what you attacked me for, or you would be quoting me.

  • Paula Revere

Yeah I did find it, but your link didn’t work when I tried it. I think because they bumped the thread up or something. But it’s the first line of your post and I did see it again. I’m not going to go get it Lyn, I’m tired and tired of arguing. I wish you well, and I hope next time you vote that you vote for the person, not the party. I will do the same. We’re all here struggling with some rough years as voters, but I think we all want to end up at the same place…the survival and prosperity of our country and her people.

  • Paula Revere

PS Click on your own link LOL. I just did it again and it says “page not found.”

  • Ulysses S. Moss

    Andrew,
That is very kind of you

As a Republican/Democrat centrist I may be able to get past the republican stigma that affects this district. My face is well known in this city and McDermott may be very unpopular if the pacifism turns into an attack or disgrace for our countries position in the world. I remember McD not even being for the war against the Taliban. His solution for 911 was to just talk to the terrorists to understand their grievances and to except the attack as something we had coming.

  • Senneth

Lyn and Peggy Sue, you are right. Like you I crossed Party lines to vote against That One and don’t regret it. I am tired of the bashing of Bill Clinton, and I also don’t believe the GOP is going to “deliver us from evil” since they got us into this war and deficit spending which led to That One becoming the Resident in the WH. I am also tired of reading about the “loony left” when the right is just as loony. It behooves us all to look at the individuals who are running for office rather than their Party affiliation.

  • Paula Revere

Yes! Mossy for President some day is what I say. You GO Andrew as campaign manager. One down, how many to go???

  • andrew jackson 191

McDermott’s pacifist grovelling has been eclipsed by our new PPOTUS (Pusilanimous Prick of the United States) so he is now vulnerable. Do you think you could get used to campaigning in blackface? That would certainly seal the deal around here.

Seriously though, I think the bloom may finally be off the McDermott rose. A well spoken business man with broad spectrum, even handed appeal, could unseat that clown. I would gladly offer my help, I’m a helluva speech writer, but a crappy spelar.

  • Mr.Murder

Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is as far to the political right as one can get.

Waiting was far more imprtant. Immediate action while the kidnappers were running on adrenaline would have spawned a rage of trigger fingers.

Wait until they tire out then act when you have the element of surpise and energy in your favor.

    The SEALS performed admirably.

The freepers are mad with that?

  • andrew jackson 191

Actually he’s on the far left, with all the other masters of stateism. The far right of the political scale is held by liberty and self determination, with a government that protects those principles.

catherine, The payback for Watergate is something I have read before. Hillary was appointed by Tip Oneal to serve on the Watergate council and that was before she and Bill were married. She was tenacious and the Republicans hated her. It’s not coincidental when her husband became president, they went after him with vengeance. It’s not that hard to understand why he pulled a stupid stunt since no other president had ever been held accountable for sexual indiscretions and as stupid as it may sound to some people, having sex means intercourse, not Bjs or mutual masturbation. He, Hillary and their daughter suffered from his behavior, but we the people did not.

  • http://firefox Martha Washington Collier

    Probably wrote the foreword.

  • Paula Revere

Puhlease Senneth, no one is “bashing” Bill Clinton. Someone brought it up and some people stated facts. I don’t even know why the f**k we are talking about an ex-President who has been out of office for so many years. Who cares.

So, when I say the “loony left” and I am talking about Obama, Pelosi, et al, you support them? Good for you! I made it clear that I wasn’t referring to my friends here who are moderate/centrist Dems. Didn’t you bother to read that post? Hmmmm….

Like you, I want people to vote country over party. That’s the point I have been trying to make. The people who just couldn’t vote for McCain gave us Obama. Next time, let’s hope for some intelligence.

  • http://firefox Martha Washington Collier

A new approach to the world is welcome and may actually reduce the number of so-called “enemies” as you say.

You really are young, aren’t you? If not chronologically, then mentally and emotionally. This isn’t anything new. The difference is we are old enough to remember the horror that historically has come from this same “approach”. It’s always the same outcome. The old saying repeat the past and expect a different outcome…insanity. Why can’t you process that? He’s not anything new. His ideas are not new. We’ve seen it all before. We’ve heard all this in our lifetime from the left from the 60′s on. I was part of it. I’m finally thankful that my generation didn’t succeed in planting this clap trap into the government decisions at the time…as much as I despised LBJ then Nixon for VietNam…it would have been worse. Even then, with my hard left stand against VietNam, I was ashamed of Jane Fonda (as she claims she is today) and her slime of America. I despised the temporary government and their decisions because I loved my country. Fonda, today, sees herself as others viewed her then…but it’s just to salvage her ego. Hasn’t really learned her lesson yet though…still just as clueless as ever…loving to be the darling of the new left.

So james, I want to get this straight. Are you saying NAFTA is responsible for illegal immigration into the US? Should the US repeal it’s treaty with Canada and Mexico? This is not Obama’s policy. In fact, one of his economic advisers Anton Goolsbee, spoke with the Canadian Consul in Chicago to reassure him NAFTA was safe. Speaking of oil, Canada threatened to withhold their exports if NAFTA was repealed. Canada exports more crude oil to the United States than any other nation, including Saudi Arabia. All of that oil, along with a gusher of natural gas, comes free of any kind of export controls or tariffs, courtesy of NAFTA. In fact, the United States consumes almost 100 percent of Canada’s energy exports and Mexico is our third largest trade partner. In spite of problems with Chavez, we still import 15% of our oil from Venezuela. Of course that doesn’t mean it will continue if Chavez makes a separate deal with other countries.

The amazing thing about the Fraud is this …

There was an America long, long before he entered the scene with his sneer and his swagger and we will rise again from the ash heap onto which he seems intent to throw us. For someone whose wife has only recently developed adult American pride, he sure seems to have a strange sense of how most Americans view themselves and their nation. I have a hint for him: He’s not teaching law any more. He is REPRESENTING ALL OF AMERICA …. it’s time he started to remember who pays for the freaking dog food!

America elected Obama and America will have to endure Obama for the next four years. However, President Obama is doing something right. Already, folks are able to stay in their homes with the bailout slicing their mortgage payments in half. Of course, that’s only for those homeowners facing foreclosure. . .

  • Me LLamo Red

    Larry,
Here’s how Obama responded to Ortega:

As has already been noted, and I think my presence here indicates, the United States has changed over time. (Applause.) It has not always been easy, but it has changed. And so I think it’s important to remind my fellow leaders that it’s not just the United States that has to change. All of us have responsibilities to look towards the future. (Applause.) I think it’s important to recognize, given historic suspicions, that the United States’ policy should not be interference in other countries, but that also means that we can’t blame the United States for every problem that arises in the hemisphere. That’s part of the bargain. (Applause.) That’s part of the change that has to take place. That’s the old way, and we need a new way. The United States will be willing to acknowledge past errors where those errors have been made. We will be partners in helping to alleviate poverty. But the American people have to get some positive reinforcement if they are to be engaged in the efforts to lift other countries out of the poverty that they’re experiencing.

It’s stupid for you to call Obama a “surrender monkey” for saying that other countries have to change, that America can’t be blamed for every problem in Latin America, that there has to be reciprocity in U.S.-Latin American diplomacy, and that historical truths can’t be denied.

What did you want him to do? Walk out of the summit? Deny that the U.S. backed the Somoza dictatorships? Deny that Reagan broke U.S. law to try to overthrow Ortega’s government? Deny that the CIA has been an enemy of democracy in Latin America? Deny that U.S. foreign policy hurt development in Latin America by putting profits for American corporations first — sometimes at the point of a gun?

It’s absurd for someone like you, of all people, to say Obama was “surrendering the high ground” at the summit. Your discourse frequently sinks to obscenity. You substituted Obama’s name for Hitler’s (http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/11/13/is-barack-obama-max-bialystock/). You told the whitey tape lies (first your “sources” were all Republicans, then the majority of them were Democrats; you claimed it showed Michelle onstage with Louis Farrakhan). “High ground” indeed.

    FROM LARRY JOHNSON:

OK Mr. “Red.” Here’s exactly what Obama should have done. He should have walked out on Ortega and made it very clear he was not going to sit on his hands while a guy who was in the pocket of the Soviets lectures us. The reality is that we stopped Soviet subversion in Central America and promoted democracy. Every country in Central America now has a democratically elected government, a direct consequence of the policies the US pursued in opposing the Sandinistas and the FMLN.

There’s one major difference here. JFK was a WWII combat veteran. He had personal knowledge of how to confront the enemy.

Does that mean it made him a perfect President? No. But he did have direct experience of making, on the scene, life and death decisions. That made Khruschev’s dismissal of him well…not too bright.

Obama State legislator, community “organizer” (a job he quit BTW), and a less than one term Senator.

JFK combat vet, congressman, and Senator. Not quite the same.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

JFK was a WWII combat veteran. He had personal knowledge of how to confront the enemy.

A lot of people seem to forget that. His service to country was one of the reasons he had such debilitating back pain, as well. He wasn’t perfect but That One pales in comparison. Kennedy also inspired people to serve, without having the need to assimilate them and committed NASA to putting a man on the moon. Kennedy may have been a lot of things, both good and bad but he was also a patriot who loved his country.

  • Benjamin Franklin Berfle

The missile crises would never have happened if the President had a kick-ass demeanor.

Speaking of Scarborough, today Joe also played a clip from a Primary debate in which Hillary explains how one should behave when dealing with bad guys. Her explanation sounded so cogent and not at all in line with how BO is acting.

I certainly do not believe in the swagger and confrontational attitude that George Bush displayed but there has to be a middle ground that doesn’t create a doormat out of the US President. Very disheartening…

  • I’m a Linda too

    lol so true!

  • ConfusedAmerican

Im so tired of everyone saying this man is another JFK, including Kennedy’s own family.
JFK probably had some faults but none like Obama, unless the Kennedy family knows things we dont know. Obama is not JFK and never will be.

  • tek

The fact that Obama isn’t good doesn’t justify George W. Bush. The current crisis is due to Republican policies.

We’ll never get our country back if people continue their partisan harping. The Republicans want a Facist state, the Democrats want to cave into special populations to get in power, and I do believe Obama is a communist at heart.

What the people of this country have to start realizing is that there is no good political party in the U. S. right now. We have to realize that both parties are joined in an oligarchy that is destroying us. People need to reject bad policy from both parties that–I’m starting to believe–are really just one big party working to enrich themselves.

When I see people glorifying the likes of Newt Gingrich and Sean Hannity, I know it’s just pure partisanship and not objectivity.

  • DAB

Actually he is like JFK in that when JFK first met with Kruschev, a measure of the man was taken and the Russians decided that he was weak. This eventually led to the Cuban Missile Crisis which probably would not have occurred if Kennedy had made a better first impression.

The world (and particularly the bad guys) are watching Obama’s every move in order to gauge how far to push him and right now it doesn’t look too good. Joe Biden’s assessment that he will be tested internationally is sure to come true at which time we can see what the man is made of.

  • graywolf

    LOL, you people kill me.
You kept this web site going on hatred of Bush and his policies.
I’m NO fan of Bush; he was grossly incompetent, BUT…
Now you got the anti-Bush and you’re still wailing.
Isn’t Obama (and his “bend over” foreign policies) what many of the intelligence community and diplomatic people wanted?

  • tek

I should also say, the underlying problem goes way beyond foreign policy. Larry is right that we should condemn certain behaviors across the board. We should also insist that our government stop targeting particular groups in the population to get privileges that everyone else pays for but doesn’t benefit from.

The leaders need to identify what are the amenities and opportunities that ALL Americans need to thrive and those things should be available to all of us, not just churches or blacks or hispanics, etc. I am very troubled by Obama’s statement that he’s taking more money from successful people so “working people” (What? We don’t work?) can realize the American dream. What does that mean, exactly.

The government should drop Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Faith-Based Initiative, Neighborhood Projects, agricultural subsidies, oil subsidies, etc., and let people compete. Provide all citizens with the amenities they need to make it possible to compete, but stop favoring certain groups.

  • tek

John D. Rockefeller said the best way for millionaires to increase their fortunes is to keep the common people fighting amongst themselves.

You prescribe to the false dilemma. This isn’t an either/or proposition. What we need are policies that work and not policies based upon appearances or the ends justifying any manner of means. While there are differences, That One’s policies are just as disjointed as his predecessor’s.

  • tek

Obama is in no way comparable to JFK. I remember JFK. Kennedy had been in the Senate for several terms and he had been a bona fide war hero. He was actually smart, and not at all inexperienced in the way Obama is inexperienced. By comparison, Nixon had been VP, but no Senate experience.

Obama has NO experience and his only recommendation, contrary to what the Obama Democrats say–is the color of his skin.

The DNC thinks if they get a black president they will OWN the black vot–which they had been losing to Republicans over the Faith Based Initiative.

If they let millions of Mexicans into the country and legalize them, they’ll have the Hispanic vote. This is Dick Durbin’s plan to create a permanent Democratic majority. Of course, it isn’t real Democrats anymore than the NeoCons were real Republicans.

It is also destroying our society to the point that it won’t matter anymore which party is in control; the Mexican Mafia will be in control of our country. In another year, it will be the American drug cartel and no place in this country will be peaceful, safe, or American.

I complained about GWB and the Republicans when they didn’t listen to the American public. I wrote letters, made calls, signed petitions etc.

Now we have Obama and the Democrats and they’re not listening either. I’ve done the same.

This is no longer a partisan thing. The US government is not listening to it’s people.

Annie Collier: I was going to reply to your embittered, racist post until I re-read this part:

People coming from socialist countries often expect the government to continue to take care of them. I used to live out in the Richmond District in SF and was floored to see it populated with Russian Jewish immigrants…most were overweight, bad teeth, and were in subsidized housing with food stamps. It’s such skewed thinking.

You mean the Russian Jews you were exposed to weren’t all rich, hook-nosed moneylenders? Wow. And the Mexican immigrant’s kids were actually LITERATE? You mean they could READ? Double WOW! Way to confound some stereotypes.

So the moral of your post is that white people humbly follow the law while brown and Jewish immigrants openly display their laziness and disrespect for America. Got it.

Obama is not the first president to discover that facile changes in U.S. policy don’t crack long-standing problems. Some of his new strategies may produce results with time. Yet the real test of an administration is what it does once it realizes that the quick fixes aren’t working — that, say, North Korea and Iran have no intention of giving up their nuclear programs, with or without dialogue, while Russia remains determined to restore its dominion over Georgia. In other words, what happens when it’s no longer George W. Bush’s fault? That’s what the next 100 days will tell us.

I don’t know but from a pragmatic observation where we live, the illegals, gangs, crimes, and drugs have all grown exponentially and congruently. Something is operating that isn’t picked up in the latest stats. It could be that we’re near a major drug trafficking freeway.
